I have wanted to come to this place for a couple of years, even though I think it's changed hands, or at least names, during that time. This place is very "vintage" and very tiny, but that's just part of the charm. Inside is a counter with around 6 stools and a tiny kitchen next to the door. There's a patio outback with tables shaded by sails, and wooden picnic tables and metal patio furniture in front. There are a couple of cow skulls which really add to the feel of the place along with the Merle Haggard soundtrack. We ordered the roll tacos, the chicken sandwich, and the burger. We were all extremely pleased with how good the food was. I like roll tacos and I eat a lot of old tacos and these were among the best. A couple of us grabbed a beer as well. You have to have your order ready when you enter and order at the counter because they're really can be no Dilly dallying and that small of a space. They'll give you a number and come looking for you when your food is done. This is definitely a pretty cool place to come. Yes, it's old and there's limited indoor seating, but there's something about it that's pretty cool. There's no parking lot so find street parking. read more

Zucchini fries are way too mushy for my liking but the TAQUITOS ARE SO LIT!!!!!! I'm going to come back for those puppies - no matter how unimpressionably apathetic the workers there are. I mean-at least their faces match their t-shirts which said "alive with pleasure" with the pleasure melting off the side of her body...whatever that means to you. Came in tonight after a concert with a friend. I ate there, he didn't. It was a quaint little hole in the wall, resembling an old fashioned diner. The bartender was quick to ask for our IDs, and she let my friend sit there despite him not getting anything. I even saw the guy cooking up a burger in the back as it was literally all taking place right there in front of you in this little trailer looking bar space. My turkey club sandwich was delicious, and I let my friend try a fry as they were very crispy and he gave it his stamp of approval. Solid food and they served us past 11:30. They had a "hydration station" outside which was just a big water cooler atop a bar stool. The guy next to me had gotten a Sonoran dog and it looked delicious and he finished it rather quickly. I would love to get one next time. This spot is definitely worth stopping by, the place had some more outside seating available. It is a bit sketchy around this area late at night so visit at your preferred leisure, just take that into account when stopping by. However the bartender was extremely rude and my friend and I came by after work to chat and get a quick bite to eat.I probably would not come back due to how the bartender acted. Very dismissive and acted like we were interrupting her conversation with the male patrons. The chef was super friendly and she should take notes on how to be more welcoming especially if you are working in the service industry. If you want to feel some nostalgia you have found your place! From the awesome esthetics with an old school country side feel, to the old school dinner that's been in Roosevelt since i can remember this place rocks! Sidewinder steps in where many have failed outside of welcome dinner and absolutely knocked this out idea of the park. The simple menu is just what this space needed. I say this with all due respect, the simple menu is sized perfectly to match the space. I love that they had the kitchen in mind when building this menu but by no means pulled back on the hometown flavors. We ordered a few items but had to brag about the sloppy Joe! Man a perfectly buttered soft bun married to a sloppy Joe filling that is only matched by the feeling of being a little kid and running home and being greeted by a plate full of beef,sauce and onions not to mention a fresh piece of cheddar melting before your very eyes! We also had the corn ribs, seasoned in a Mexican street corn style they were so good i forgot i was eating them and by the time i looked down they were gone ... i still think my wife stole them for herself but ether way I'll be ordering two orders next time. Nice spot with a lot of heart. Simple and small with great drinks, the martini was better than I could imagine it would be served in a plastic cup! The nascar spritz was also a hit at our table. The Frito pie was delicious. The bar has few seats so we look forward to a weeknight when it's quieter and we can enjoy the interior - we visited on a Saturday with a big party and sat outside. They were very accommodating and the music was an experience in itself. A little bit of hipster Texas in our backyard. The proximity to RoRo is very convenient as well! I'm not one to write many reviews, but I genuinely had a horrible experience here this evening. I was DD tonight and took my friends to what was becoming our new favorite spot to get some food & drinks and head home for the night, and we were met with a bartender I hadn't personally interacted with yet. She started to check our IDs, which I will add (they hadn't checked ours the past few times we came in because we started to get to know the other bartender Serenity) but nevertheless we are all 21 and had come from a different bar down the street and so my friend began handing her his ID. She starts bending it immediately and accuses the ID of being fake. My friend immediately asked her multiple times if she'd stop bending his ID because she was beginning to damage it. Keep in mind we are ASU students, most from different places so some of us have out of state IDs, but still all real and all of us have ever had an issue at any other bars in Phoenix or Tempe. Then, she starts taking my other friends ID and bending it to "prove a point" and creates more damage to another friends ID trying to compare them by saying they don't "bend the same." She wanted to keep the ID but that is actually illegal and immediately my friends and I told her "we will just call the cops then." After a while of back and forth, she ended up just handing back the now damaged ID (because spoiler alert: IDs are made of plastic and actually bend... I know... crazy concept) and refused to serve him. We immediately left and will not return if the bartender we saw is there. read more

Would not ever recommend. Been here multiple times and it's always the same red headed girl bartender, who is annoyed that I want to order. She seems like she's only rude to girl customers or anyone that stops her from talking to the male customers and flirting with the cooks lol. Came back last Thursday and faced a new issue. The two cooks, who look exactly like each other (long brown hair, unclean clothes, facial hair not protected while cooking), were both CLEARLY drunk on the job. And not hiding it well either. One of them was wearing disposable gloves the whole time- and by that I mean the SAME PAIR! Did not replace constantly like intended. And the other one (had a gun tattoo on his arm), did not have gloves but had like open wounds on his hands and fingers. Both seemed more interested in hanging out with each other than actually cooking anything. I got the Sonoran dog and it didn't have the same amount of toppings it usually does, very underwhelming. I'm embarrassed I've given this place so many tries. It wants to be Gracie's so bad, but at least they have good service and good hygiene. read more

It's great to have a good restaurant back in this spot! Loved hangin on their chill patio - it's expanded to the back yard since the previous owner's tenure. Popping some outdoor cushions on those chairs would do a wonder for comfort though. Came with a big group and they were so accommodating, even let us park our bikes in the back (they said a bike rack was in the works). Everyone loved their food - especially high praise was given to the sausage sando, the hot dogs, & sloppy Joe. I ended up getting fries with a side of nacho cheese because the only vegetarian options are sides/apps, but those were tasty too. Prices were also super reasonable. These 4 stars would be 5 easy if they get a bike rack and a vegetarian main of some kind. read more
