I ordered the Old Town--an all-beef couch dog topped with smoked bacon, cotija cheese, pickled jalapeños, and chipotle aioli--along with the BOJ slider. The Old Town hot dog was great, with the cheese and jalapeños working nicely together. Interestingly enough, they use the same buns for the sliders and the hot dog; the hot dog buns were just chained together, and it worked really well. Decided to grab a bite to eat before our concert. Walked in and the place was packed and luckily a table just got cleaned. No hostess, just fend for yourself. Started to look over the menu and all the options. I ordered the Little Mule and my son ordered the Cowboy 2026 with an order of garlic cojita fries. And to wash it down, a couple of Pauliner beers. The burger was tasty however the bun was charred. The hot dog was okay but nothing to write home about. The fries were served later because the waiter took our food order to the wrong table at first and the people at the table (who had already eaten) told the waiter they ordered the fries but not the burgers. There is a spicy pepper jam on the fries and maybe a little too much sauce. But they were okay. Would go for something different next time. We then ordered a couple of unique beers, one being the Mother Earth Cali Dreamin which by the description sounded delicious because I like a brown dark beer (stout) with a chocolate caramel taste. To my surprise I get an amber looking pilsner that tastes a little like chocolate. A real mind trip as it was not what I expected. My boyfriend and I split the Chili Idol dog and I wish I had gotten my own. That hot dog was so good and flavorful. The chilli and cheese were perfect. The hot dog was served hot. We also got the onion strings. Those also tasted amazing. They were skinny and crispy and served with ranch. We decided we were still hungry and ordered wings with a sample cup of every sauce. Overall, our experience was very good. It started with a friendly gentleman when you walked in and three different ways to order your food, the counter from a waiter or from the app one thing I like about the app is that you can keep your tab open so if you want to have more than one beer or want to order more food, you can. We purposely ordered more food than we could eat and tried and shared several of different varieties of hotdog sausages, burgers, and then even ordered the pickle chips, onion rings, the tater tot nachos and cheese fries. We also all ordered an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. The speed which the food came out was perfect. The food tasted fresh and was delicious and we were all very pleased. I did talk to the gentlemen that worked there about their pickle chips that I felt could've had more breading and crunchy than they were. They can continue to make them the way they want and I'll still come back and have their dogs or their burgers cause they were delicious. Came with friends after a long day of vendoring at Phoenix Fam Fusion since this spot is open 24 hours (thankfully!). The servers are super nice here and really chill. I love that you build your own if you decided. I got their Holy Aioli burger and added a fried egg plus a side of their tots. The burger patties were seasoned well and juicy. They use Hawaiian rolls as their buns which the sweetness balanced the rest of the savory burger. The aioli and egg added a creamy texture and flavor. The tots were nice and crispy too. They both hit the spot. I also enjoyed their flavored teas too. This review is more of me coming to grips of my long-held expectations versus reality. So, I finally visited a Dog Haus after seeing them first set up shop in the Valley in 2019. I visited the downtown Phoenix location. I ordered the Das Brat and Haus chili. Now, I'm somewhat of a bratwurst snob and maybe my preferences lie outside of the way most purveyors prepare bratwurst. I like a very fatty brat to be beer boiled, then touched for a few minutes on a flame grill for a discernible snap, fat juices emanating. This bratwurst wasn't close to that. It seemed to be a precooked sausage variety that, while tasty, totally missed my expectations. Sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard were good, though. Maybe my expectations for the chili were in the same category. While the underlying chili was spicy and very flavorful, the 1/2" of cheese sauce on top was weird and distracted from the expected chili experience. Second, the prices are pretty on par. My bratwurst and drink came to about $18, and it was $22 including tip. Several months ago, I walked by a Dog Haus in Downtown Phoenix and was told that Dog Haus is a national chain with franchises; there are four locations in Arizona. As a big hot dog fan, I was curious and wanted to check it out. Recently, I attended an event at the Phoenix Convention Center and went for a walk in the area for lunch. I happened back near the Dog Haus downtown location, and I am so glad I did so. It just so happened that I was having lunch at Dog Haus on a Sunday, when they have all-day happy hour (which they also have 3-6 PM on weekdays). The happy hour specials include $1-$4 off different items on the menu. I ordered a Downtown Haus Dog (smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pickled peppers, mayo, mustard, and ketchup) and Corn Dog Slider (all-beef mini dog dipped in Haus-made root beer batter) while leaving a few items off my Downtown Haus Dog. While the Downtown Haus Dog was good, the Corn Dog Slider with the root beer batter was absolutely delicious! I look forward to going back again soon. I was greeting quickly upon arriving, and the staff were very kind and answered my many questions about menu items. It did take a while for the food to arrive though it seemed that the staff had a lot going on at the time that I arrived. After I ate, it was difficult to find a staff member to close me out, though once someone came around, I was able to leave rather quickly. Definitely check out the Haus Rewards app, as you can sign up for the rewards even when you're heading to Dog Haus, and you can get $5 off your first visit.
