I don't mean to sound surprised when I say this but, I REALLY enjoyed my dining experience at Feeney's. I say that because I feel like it's a hidden gym next to a laundromat that people have probably passed, even though it has been in operation for 65 years! This blink and you'll miss it building has a tiny parking lot with one entrance in and out (beware and be kind). Once you walk into the space it feels like Willy Wonka in that it feels much bigger than it looks! Very quaint and simple in its decor. To the left is a private dining room I'm sure that is for rent with a full bar and one of the last (it seems) walk up salad bars with a fresh variety of ingredients on chilled metal plates, and homemade salad dressings (the 1000 Island is the best I've ever had). Maria is the owner, operator, and in this occasion our waitress showing she wasn't above doing the grunt work. She received hugs and hellos from regulars throughout the night showing her impact on the staff and space. Her Greek accent made us feel warm and welcomed like we were family. Then there was the meal! Known for its Prime Rib we kept it pretty simple. A sirloin beef burger and Prime Rib dinner for the table. An $8 upgrade takes you from 12 to 20 ounce prime rib (if memory serves) with a loaded baked potato and one trip to the salad bar. I believe it was $7 to add a trip to the salad bar for the burger order and was well worth it! At the End of the Day, the only regret was not having the room for the enormous Mud Pie dessert that looked incredible. Went for a birthday dinner. We had a room to ourselves and it was very cozy. The staff was amazing. Now down to the food. The flaming cheese amazing and prime rib was awesome. But that twice baked potato was tops! Personally I thought the salad bar with its sad iceberg and mayo based salads could use a revisit, but overall a great experience Rumor has it if you're not a local they won't help you in the bar. Our party of five arrived and we were immediately seated. We all had the salad bar. One order ribeye medium and it was cooked perfectly. One ordered strip steak medium and it was served well done. The of us ordered the large prime rib medium and they were well done. I'm not sure if this happened because we came early but I can say we were really disappointed as we brought three guests that had not been here before. What an AMAZING GEM of a place. Had the most tender piece of prime rib I've ever eaten in my L I F E. And it was only $42 (+tax, Tip). Melted in my mouth and the most excellent flavor. A wonderful dinner spot! The place feels like a steakhouse transported in time from the 1970s or 80s, keeping the character and feel of that era in a great way, adding a touch of nostalgia to the experience along with friendly staff and a lively atmosphere. The Pork Ossobuco was rich and fell right off the bone, and the London Broil with sherry mushroom sauce (cooked rare, as requested) was excellent. We came here on a Friday evening for dinner with my son and his new GF. The place has a casual atmosphere even a bit divy. We were seated promptly and our drink order was taken. We opted for 2 appetizers, the fried zucchini and the saganiki. Both were overly greasy. I ordered the prime rib medium rare and the soup for my side. The soup was corn chowder and it seemed overly reduced and on the thick side. My prime rib came out overdone but it wasn't horrible. We stopped in for lunch. We had heard good things about Freeney's. We ordered the Greek chicken with mashed potatoes and the liver and onions with French fries. It took a while to get our food but it was worth the wait. The chicken was moist and flavored with lemon. Delicious! Wow! The prime rib was cooked so well. It was probably the 2nd most tender and flavorful I've had so far (the 1st is Bacchus House in Folsom). The cook really let the awesome beef flavor of the prime rib shine. I didn't use the au jus or the horseradish; this just didn't need it. I had the Twice Baked as my side. It was like the size of a babies head. It was amazing. They also include a trip to the salad bar. The Mud Pie was a delicious way to wrap it all up. Service was good and attentive. This place was a real gem, which is not necessarily what you'd expect with it situated beside a Circle K. The service was so fluid, friendly, and evidenced constant communication between all levels of employees. We didn't wait long on anything, including our main course. And let me tell you, those main courses were no joke! The chicken Picata POPPED! I'm not normally a chicken guy, but WOW! So flavorful! My Wellington was also a real winner. Can't say I've had that anywhere else, but very very good nonetheless. Also, what a cute vibe. Feeley's, a fine local establishment for great drinks and awesome food! We came in for a dinner on a Thursday and the place was lively and the staff was so friendly and accommodating to us. We all got steaks and prime rib and enjoyed it all. The salad bar is awesome to have and you get it with any entree. The prime rib was of good quality and the baked potato was also very good. Initially came for the Prime Rib as a friend recommended. Soft tender 16oz Prime Rib served with choice of smash or baked potato. However the old fashioned salad bar has me hooked. (please see video) It is a definite must try. This particular time we also ordered the Calamari appetizer and a Jumbo Shrimp cocktail. All delightful marvelous tasting dishes. No complaints. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly by a very friendly woman and shown to my table. Some reviews say the atmosphere is too dark and dreary. Personally, I liked the atmosphere - reminiscent of the steakhouses of old. The server quickly brought me a water and took my order. I came specifically for the prime rib. When it came to ordering my side, the math didn't math. The sides that are included, on the a la carte menu, are $3.95. I wanted the twice baked potato, which was listed at $5.95. So, I figured I would have to pay a $2 upcharge, right? Makes sense? Nope - it's a $3 upcharge. HUH? Not wanting to argue, I ordered that. I had a choice of soup or salad bar. At a steakhouse, I expect a nice hearty soup, such as baked potato, some sort of chowder or a bisque. Nope - tomato rice?!?!? The soup arrived rather quickly and it was piping hot. It was good. Not great, but certainly not bad. Then, my meal arrived. The prime rib was cooked EXACTLY the way I asked and was absolutely delicious. Some reviews say the prime rib is bland. They are apparently used to prime rib with a heavily seasoned rub. IMHO - Prime rib needs nothing more than salt and pepper. I enjoyed the prime rib immensely. The potato, on the other hand, was terrible. First of all, it was stone cold in the center. Second, it was loaded with raw green onions. Now, I'm of the camp that baked potatoes should be served with chives, not green onions. Restaurants use the latter because they are cheaper. But chives are more delicate and compliment, rather than overpower, the potato. Luckily, the server took the $3 extra charge off the bill as the potato was inedible. In the future, I will DEFINITELY go back for the Prime Rib. But, I will hope for a better soup option and just go with a regular baked potato. read more

We ended up here as a fluke on my birthday in October. We were supposed to go to a very high-end restaurant and they screwed everything up in the first 15 minutes so we ended up leaving and came across Feeney's . We arrived around eight and they had no problem, taking us in and getting us a table. They were so friendly they made me immediately feel at home and 100% better than the way I felt at that Other restaurant which I shall not name. I love the salad bar. I haven't seen one in years! The prime rib was amazing. Wine selection was good and they brought me a dessert and sang happy birthday and it just made my whole night. So thank you Feeney's for making it special! And we plan on going back in a week for a meet and greet of the in-laws before the wedding so wish us well! read more

Honestly immensely disappointed after coming here due to the recommendations. It's very dark, moody restaurant that has homely vibes. It was my birthday dinner and we got the wellington and filet + lobster combo. Both steaks were medium. The wellington was cooked correctly and pretty good. The sauce was different but not in a bad way. It was my first time trying it, and I'd say it's worth trying. The potato on the side is very filling and their salad bar was good as well. The soup was a chicken tortilla soup and fine. The big problems came from the filet and lobster combo. The lobster was undercooked, the steak was overcooked, and the server did not care at all. Not sure if Maria is a part owner, but she could not care any less. She 'took off' the steak which turned out to be a 5 dollar discount. For dishes in the 50 to 70 dollar range, I expected a lot better. I was expecting the steak to be refired or something. She insisted the lobster was cooked and I still insisted it to be put on the grill more. It definitely was undercooked and the steak was overcooked. The reason I ate most of it was when it was clear they would not do anything about it, and I was still hungry. I actually had a different lobster piece I already had again because she insisted it was cooked, and I spat it out. It's so slimy and chewy. It was very ??? The steak was done so thoroughly it was one of the worst filet mignon I've had. I've had better at an ayce place than this. Although one of the two dishes was good, the service was terrible, and I honestly should've just gone to a different restaurant for this price (and I will). No tip for such an atrocious service. Ruined my birthday dinner by not knowing how to cook meat. If I could give less than 1 star I would. The person who took my check was very nice though and tried to help. Came into the restaurant sat down at the bar bartender didn't even serve me a drink or water... had to ask for a water with lemon. Food is great came out quick served just as asked for a great price point. But dying of thirst only problem with the place. You would think as a bartender they would serve you a drink but no had to ask for simple water with lemon. And many of those same parents have continued dining here to this day. They serve steakhouse fare, but there is no Corporate Amex markup here. Tried one of the classic Greek dishes from the new "Family Favorites " at Feeney's. Made fresh daily by owner Maria's brother who we are told also makes the restaurant's homemade soups du jour. Bartender Jordana was in on her time off and raved about the moussaka so much, we had to try it! The moussaka was enough to feed three people! YUM! Filled with homemade bechamel and plentiful eggplant and ground beef, it is a homey comfort food dish you can't stop eating. Comes with a side - we chose the new lemon potatoes. These are hefty spud wedges coated in savory butter and lemon. Can't wait to try the pasititio, kind of a Greek lasagna layered with tubular pasta, that creamy bechamel and more! I ordered the 10 oz prime-rib with mashed potatoes as my side. Far too much fat on it for me to ever order it again or recommend it, in my opinion. My daughter ordered the pasta, she felt it was for to dry. Pasta bolognese is typically juicier in the sauce . This was almost sauce less. Drinks rocked. We will try something else on the menu next time. Still have a soft spot for this place when in town visiting family. There clearly are a lot of regulars, which was fun to see. The place really could use a deep clean (lots of grimy/sticky surfaces and dust), and the prices are just way too high, for how simple the food is. With tip, we paid $97 for one entree, one appetizer (onion rings--super cheap ingredients and easy prep), and two drinks (one beer, one glass of wine). Right next to a laundromat! I arrived around 6pm- I thought it was closed because there were no lights on. The only way I figured out that they were open- was because I saw people leaving. Apparently that was rectified because when I left, lights were on and the restaurant was fully visible from the street. Going inside felt like I was going back in time...like I was back in Sizzlers! Dimly lit, kind of quiet, bar area that was super neighborly. The hostess was super attentive and sweet. Called everyone "My baby". For her service alone- I'd go back. Prime rib- just ok. Definitely nothing to write home about. Additionally, my horseradish was excessively creamy- to where I didn't want to use it. My baked potato was overdone. I'm a fan of eating the skin, but mine was extremely hard and FULL of butter. Not a fan. My sister ordered the burger- she wasn't impressed. Gosh this one is a tough one. There's too many other places in town for you to enjoy that will suffice, not to mention surprise and delight you. Spending your money and time here just isn't worth it. Walking in there were not one but two staff members who barely looked up much less responded to us walking in. The menu is good. Entrees come with a soup or salad bar and a side dish. The salad bar is sub par. Nothing but the basics and typical dressings at the end. Ranch blue cheese, thousand Island, and vinaigrette. The sides are ok. Except when you get them they are nothing special you'd expect from a restaurant. For example, my husband ordered a baked potato fully loaded. The only ingredients that are put on the potato were sour cream and chives. There was nothing else on the potato. The prime rib came like a slab of meat. There was no seasoning at all. Very bland. My pork chop was ok but bland. I'm not a fan of eating mediocre food. And especially paying for it. Drinks were good. Happy hour is definitely a deal. Well drinks are $13 which is amazing The absolute best thing about this restaurant is the owner. Friday early evening bar area was packed and dining room was over half full. Found a bar seat and ordered what I thought was $4 happy hour draft, 2. Eventually a small table opened up and the gracious and welcoming hostess Maria seated me. She promptly brought me the Potato Skin appetizer (free w Yelp CI) Tasted like it was made in the morning, yesterday morning. Couple bites is all I could handle. Ok, time to order I was looking for the Greek specials previous Yelper reported but not available. Had a pasta dish w French onion soup instead of salad. What a mess, huge bowl that was literally a massive glob of melted cheeses. I spooned the sides for some broth and onions. Could not eat it. Pasta was decent w limited tomato broth and chunks of prime rib, long wide noodles. Garlic toast served alongside tasted stale like the potato skins. Could not eat. Picked out the meat and couple noodles and called it quits. Very disappointed. Bill came and my draft beers were $8 ea. "Oh those aren't happy hour". Thanks, tipping is a city in China. Total w small tip for a far from satisfying dinner totaled $43, solo. The owner is a sweetheart, the food has always been great. I've brought family here several times but I can't get over my last couple less than stellar visits and most likely not to return.
