Food selection was tasty and as always the view outside is my favorite. The Centurion Lounge in Phoenix has really improved over the past couple of years. It used to be extremely crowded, to the point where it was hard to relax, but the newer waitlist system and other anti-overcrowding measures have made a noticeable difference. Even when they're at capacity, the vibe feels calmer and more manageable now. The food is solid. It's the same menu you'll find in the Escape Lounge, but consistently well prepared. On recent visits I've seen a nice spread with crudité and dip, salads, Brussels sprouts, brisket, and burnt ends. Dessert has changed over time -- they used to have cheesecake (which I miss), and lately it's been strawberry pound cake with whipped cream and brownies. Still tasty, just not quite as exciting as before. What really sets this lounge apart is the staff. They are professional, kind, and welcoming. I love seeing familiar faces year after year -- it gives the place a personal touch that many airport lounges lack. A special shoutout to Daylin, who has checked me in on my last two trips and always makes me feel genuinely welcome. That kind of hospitality goes a long way when you're traveling. The lounge itself, though, is starting to show its age. I've noticed ceiling patches and some general wear and tear. And despite clear signage, people still put their shoes on the furniture... WTH. TIL: Centurion Lounges use the same wifi password. I was at the Centurion Lounge in Denver airport in the last week, and the wifi password was the same one here too. Location: terminal 4, behind gate B21 This is a much smaller lounger compared to the one in Denver. I arrived around 7 PM, and they closed at 9 PM. They started announcing the closing time at 8 PM. Hot food is good. Coffee, tea, and water are self served. They had a bar and a nice window looking out at the tarmac. Request fountain drinks from the bar. The dessert was good! I like the lemon bars! No wait today which was really nice. The front desk staff were super chipper which is also nice when you're traveling. They had an avocado toast station today- as well as overnight oats, fruits and egg scramble/sausage/potato standards. Bartender was friendly and chatting with the customers as well. First of all, let me say that I went before 12 noon in the lounge and they had already run out of cream for the coffee, brown sugar for the coffee, any flavored syrup everything they had to do with coffee. Travel can be tedious and tiring. Many times waking up early if traveling from the West Coast to the East just to arrive at a decent hour. With layovers, travel becomes even more tiring. The Centurion Lounge makes travel, even with layovers, more enjoyable. This location can be found in the B terminal across from gate 22. Once you see signs, enter the glassdoors/ check in area. Once checked in, you'll proceed upstairs to the actual lounge. Seating is available for individual travelers, families or small groups. Relaxing lounge chairs or workstations can be found throughout. Food is self-service as are most non-alcoholic beverages. Some sodas, mixed drinks, wine and beer can be obtained from the bartenders. Food has never disappointed. It's a nice snack that very much suffices for a meal. There are also friendly assistants who regularly check in on you and clear used items and refresh the food buffet. This is obviously the lounge I frequent most, being based in PHX. It definitely does the job, service is friendly, food offerings are solid and I have yet to been put on a waitlist before entry. On this most recent visit I noticed it felt a bit more rundown than normal, not totally unexpected from a high traffic lounge, but considering it's supposed to be higher end as well, it could definitely be improved. The water dispenser wasn't working, the overall lounge was dirty, lots of trash and the tables could use a good cleaning. I won't put my nose up and still love visiting, but it could definitely use a bit more TLC. On a separate note, Espresso Martinis were delicious! You are asked to get the espresso yourself, as they do not have one behind the bar, no biggie. read more

Visited the Centurion Lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) before a flight to Buffalo. The lounge was not busy today, with good seating and solid Wi-Fi. Food and drink options were excellent--the pulled pork sliders and the shrimp with sausage and grits were especially good, and the Balvenie single malt Scotch was a nice touch. Breakfast starts at 5:30am. They open at 5:00am. It's not busy at that time, but we always put our name on the waiting list or check-in. They will give you 10 minutes to secure the spot. This may be one of my favorite Amex Centurion Lounges. It always has a bright, open, feel, and you can watch the traffic on the airfield while you wait. Lots of seating, nearly everywhere has power, and they're always keeping the food and drink fresh. This time they basically had to make your own taco station out with some pork, veggies, tortillas, and soup. They also had a watermelon salad that included onion, I can definitely see what they were going for, but it didn't quite meet my tastes. The watermelon and onion were both fresh, but so fresh they really seem to clash. As always, grab a glass of bubbly at the bar and catch up on your email between flights. read more

Possibly one of the worst centurion lounge I've come across. I usually try to avoid phoenix airport in general because it's chaotic, but came here last minute. You can tell the upkeep is terrible by looking at their furnitures. The restroom is really small, smells gross and dirty. Food selection is just like any other Amex lounge. If I could give this place six stars I would. Monica and Sarah are absolutely the best bartenders anywhere in Phoenix. Just absolutely the best. The food is not bad, they do try to focus a lot on vegetarians which is fine I guess. The place itself is great lots of natural lighting. I'm disappointed, it didn't felt like any difference on a regular lounge. I was here on a Monday at 11am, and it was packed. The food area is empty and doesn't look appetizing. The ambiance is so not worth of the platinum status with Amex. The restroom is dirty and out of toilet papers. I don't know why it's like this, maybe I should've gone to the Escape lounge. I came in with high expectations. There was another lounge right next door, and the staff mentioned the main difference was the food. Plus, that lounge allowed two guests for free, while the Centurion Lounge requires guest fees -- so naturally, I assumed this one would be the superior option. Unfortunately, it was far from what I expected. The experience was shockingly underwhelming. If you just need a place to sit for a short time, it's fine. But if you're bringing guests and paying extra for them, I honestly wouldn't recommend it. You're better off exploring the airport and choosing a restaurant you actually enjoy -- that would be a much better value and overall experience. Pretty disappointed. read more

Really like this Centurion lounge! Stopped here twice recently on the way to and from Hawaii - and on the way back we had an almost 4 hour layover having gotten very little sleep on the plane! The gentleman on the front desk is always very nice and makes check in quick and pleasant! They had lovely comfy seats with lots of outlets which is great for charging all tote stuff and they were great for napping! Lots of healthy options - yogurt, overnight oats, fresh fruits, good coffee, great salads and a good bar! Have another long stop to Phoenix next week so glad to have this as an option! read more

The food was great! The lounge was clean but the hostess was kinda of rude. I came 5 min early she says "Are you looking for The Centurion Lounge?" Looking smugly at me. I reply yes and she says "The Centurion Lounge doesn't open till 6am" no I'm sorry no please wait just it doesn't open till 6am. So finally check in and I get the same hostess she gets my ID asks for my platinum card and boarding pass. I say good morning and she rudely said "I already said good morning to you" so she checks me and and I tell her "you know you are kinda rude". Yet again, another centurion lounge with a wait in excess of an hour. If it was just PHX then fine but it's happening in LAS, CLT, PHL...everywhere I seem to go! What is the point of having access to these lounges when you can rarely get in to take advantage of them? And if you go on the app to sign up for the waitlist too early and get your code but can't get there in time you are screwed. This system isn't working anymore. The lounges are too crowded and no longer serving their members with benefits. That said, the staff here managing the customers are incredibly patient and friendly dealing with all this. The highlight of our breakfast at the Centurion was the crack-like Belgium waffles. Eggs are lukewarm, sausage is fast-food like but those waffles woaaa. The coffee machine is nicer than most, real milk vs powder, americano was decent. Mimosa in the AM was the perfect start to the day. read more

Long waitlist for 20-30 minutes, so desk offered us to duck into the "Escape" lounge next door while we waited. When our time came up, woman sitting at the door to Centurion Lounge said we couldn't come in "because you were already in the other lounge, and you can't switch." She was very short and rude when dismissing us at the door. Must be a "local rule" for Phoenix, but I pay way too much in annual fees on 3 platinum cards to Be turned away from the lounges. read more

Not enough seating, tiny buffet with cold food in the hot section. I tried to order a cocktail and the rude bartender wouldn't make my cocktail bc it was after 7:30. He can give me the components but not the actual drink. He was so mean about it and was arguing with me at the bar while a long line formed behind me even though I arrived with my mother and she was able to order a cocktail. Would not recommend this lounge to anyone that knows a good lounge. The bar alone turned me off. After that I went to have a cup of tea and I just happened to check the time control stickers on the bottom of the carafes and they were to be collected and changed at 2 pm. Was in Phoenix for a business meeting, flew in the same day from Denver, then flying back home to New York that same afternoon. I wasn't encouraged by the reviews and initially unsure if I was making an effort to walk from Gate A12 to B22 where the lounge was in front of. Happy to report that I did enjoy my 40 mins or so and while on the smaller side and packed on a Friday afternoon, I did find the food selection and variety pretty good and yummy. The Korean-glazed chicken was delicious, the beef brisket was tender, cornbread paired well and there was also mac & cheese, lacked a bit of seasoning though. The bar was packed but I was able to get a glass of prosecco and managed to enjoy half of a white chocolate macadamia cookie, could be better though, but maybe coz we bake pretty good so my standards are pretty high. Overall, I'd say one of the better lounges when it comes to food. Ladies room was also clean and well kept and they do have L'Occitane hand products. If you're boarding at the A gates, allow yourself 30 mins for a leisure pace walk. Would happily come back! read more
