Be forewarned, this is my not my favorite Admirals Club by any stretch. Depending on my mood, it might end up being one of my least favorite locations in the country. It's a tight squeeze and often crowded, to the point where (airport) lounging is nearly an oxymoron. For folks who are know the mediocre Admirals Club experience in other areas will know what to expect with food and service. Maintenance is always variable, depending on how robust the staff is, which is often a problem here. Dishes are not picked up quickly, buffet stations are sometimes a mess, bathroom floors might feel sticky, and service is lacking overall. The food is nothing remarkable, but then again neither is any Admirals Club location that I've tried. It really depends on the day, but even during the guacamole service (which also doubles as an avocado toast bar), it is still lackluster. Bagels are dry If there's any place to hang out, it might be the bar. Assuming one can snag a seat, whomever the bartender is that day is typically the key to a quality experience. The WiFi is decent and paired with a nice drink, can be a solid way to enjoy a layover and be the start of pre-flight shenanigans. In addition to it being crowded, it can also be noisy. Given how busy PHX already is, the claustrophobic vibe is most definitely real. Anyone traveling in groups should reconsider coming here, but solo travelers who can tolerate the chaos might do well with some noise cancelling phones and with a little luck, a chair and a table to enjoy and pass the time. read more

My personal travels have increased, so I decided to expand on my benefits to get comfortable while at the airport. This was the first time that I've actually been in the Admiral's Club here before flying internationally (usually I'm at another club in the airport). The food selection didn't blow me away, but it was decent. Easy access to fountain drinks, tea, water, and snacks such as gummy bears & pretzels. I decided to sit up at the bar where I had a good conversation with the bartender, and I actually had a few prickly pear margaritas, which were included. Not everything is included, as some of the items are premium shelf items. For those that do know, it's not a big deal, but some look and think it's all complimentary. Between the chair seating comfort & availability, the frequently updated flight status board (visible to most seating) comfort was all good, and it was centrally located to where my gate was, so coming out of the lounge, popping up my gate was great. read more

This AC is located near gate A4. Check-in was quick as three workers were on duty. It's a small, cramped lounge that was bustling and over crowded at 7am on a Monday, so seating was at a premium. Breakfast options seemed quite good but I wasn't hungry and didn't browse the offerings. Bottled water commanded a $4.50 purchase. The men's restroom was tiny, with just two basins and a sole toilet. OVERALL: For the first time in my life, there was more room to spread out and be comfortable at the gate areas with the masses. read more

I hate to post this because it feels so much like a first world complaint, but this club comes at a hefty price and over the last few years I can't justify it. My husband thinks it's worth it , I don't. We have kept this Admirals Club membership and I do like having the access to the 'space' .. hmm umm... IF you can find space. If I am in the B gates at Sky Harbor or even low A gates , I will choose the B Admirals Club over the 'high' A gates Admirals Club every time. It makes zero sense to me that the larger capacity flights go out of the high A gates and the AA Club in the A gates is so small and cramped. The service is nil. The bartender in the am.. she is incredibly sour and seems to hate her job and the customers she reluctantly tries to serve. The bar , also super small. The bathroom - small. There is a theme with the A gates club--- small and lacking. The food has gone to basics and almost a tad better than a Holiday Inn Express continental breakfast. The B AA Club is larger and likely less cramped because the international flights in the B gates tend to fly out of the higher B gates which are a far walk from this club. Zero sense to the reasons why AA has chosen to remodel and not expand into other gate areas too? We have the Amex Platinum and I love the Centurion Club all day - every day over this and it's about $100 in difference and they cap the amount of people allowed in. Rules are tight. Maybe a reservation system to cap capacity would help ? Better food offerings ? Meh it's so awful and bland. read more

Coming in on a flight there's nothing like being able to grab some snacks, drink and coffee on the run or just to relax a minute or 2 hours. There's never been a time I haven't came through and the staff has always been professional and willing to assist if you needed something. It's nice and clean with plenty of space. Wow...dirtiest lounge of any brand I've ever been to. Bathroom floor was so sticky it almost pulled my shoes off, then there's no soap. Then the coffee machine is locked out, they fix it and it goes right back off so no coffee. The food was picked through and looks like it had been sitting. Bartender inattentive. Most tables sitting with trash and plates on them...and they are by no measure busy maybe 25 people total in there. Receptionist sitting and talking instead of helping check people in... I left and came to the Centurion here which is honestly not much better as far as cleanliness...but they have food and pay attention to people. read more

As a frequent flyer on American Airlines, I often find myself visiting Admirals Clubs before my flights at airports with an Admirals Club or a partner lounge. While the clubs used to be spacious with decent food and drink offerings and excellent service, the clubs have become much busier with fewer seats available and average food and drink options. It seems that everyone has access to an Admirals Club nowadays and brings their entire families. There are three Admirals Clubs at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. The largest of the locations is near gate A7 and has a separate Yelp listing. It's unclear if this listing is for the location near gate A19 or the location near B5. The A19 location is quite a walk from many of the A and B gates and is the smallest of the three locations while the location near B5 is more accessible and larger than the one near gate A19 (but still smaller than the location near gate A7). Both of these locations are almost completely full. The location near gate A19 has comfortable seating in a lounge-like area and some tables near the bar and then some chairs near the window. The location near B5 has all of these types of seating and more. The reason I gave it 4 stars (instead of 3 stars) is that I've begun to see the efforts made to improve the Admirals Club membership which includes complimentary hot food throughout the day from soups, Mac and Cheese, sandwiches, meatballs, and breakfast items (not all at once though). There are charcuterie offerings, dessert trays, a salad bar, hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and then house drinks. You can pay more for premium drinks and prepared meals. Access to the lounge is easy to get whether through the Citi Executive World Mastercard with free access for you and up to two guests. You can also pay $175 for up to three authorized users each receiving their own lounge access (with up to two guests). Also, One World alliance flyers with a certain status can access Admirals Clubs. There are also Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining locations, which offer much more than just Admirals Clubs. I'm confident that making it easy to get Admirals Club memberships has led to lounges being overcrowded though now that you have to pay for authorized users instead of getting them for free in recent years, that may help. You can also redeem AAdvantage miles for membership or access to the Admirals Club. read more

Not sure what's up with Admiral's Lounges lately, but this one was just as unimpressive as many I've been to recently. Then the bartender seemed to have an attitude too. The food wasn't very fresh and was rather picked through when we got there around 9PM on a Tuesday night. The place was pretty busy too, so you'd figured they'd do a better job keeping the food fresh. Then the staff was too busy laughing and cracking jokes with each other rather than managing the lounge's food and cleanliness. I only visit this club once a year, but so enjoy it! Always crowded, but I always managed to find a seat. The folks working are friendly and efficient. It helps that my gate is usually next door! I was here for the overlap of breakfast an lunch. The quinoa with mango was yummy! And for lunch, Korean barbecue pork was just awesome! Always fast wifi as well. It is a super small Admiral's Club. There is constant turn over, so don't fret if at first you don't find a seat. I sat at the bar maybe 5 minutes before I grabbed a seat at a table to work. Great Admiral's Club! read more

Small club and very, very crowded. The staff simply cannot keep up. This is the second of two clubs in Terminal A. The other one is even smaller. Terminal A is really two terminals. It is split in two with a long walk and people movers between them. So its one or the other. In the evenings its less crowded. On a Thursday afternoon it was jammed. The food counters were in disarray and some food items were exhausted and in need of replenishment. I imagine the staff are exhausted as well. These are old US Air clubs. Phoenix deserves better. AA's promised Admiral Club food and other improvements have not yet reached Phoenix it seems. A much larger Admirals Club would be a big improvement for either end of Terminal A. It also might encourage travelers in the southwest US to connect through PHX instead of DFW. PHX has way less weather delays too. Maybe its worth investing in PHX? read more

There are two Admirals Clubs at this airport. The A terminal was full this morning so we had time to go to the B terminal gate. Which was not full on this early Friday morning. There is now a sign at the entrance stating they are not selling day passes or allowing active Military free entry. This a smaller club than others but plenty of space to relax and wait for your flight. The bar and food is in the back. There was a man making avocado toast early this morning. The ladies are making sure this area is very clean too. read more

I had a couple hours to burn before my flight. I am glad there is a Club in the terminal. The club is pretty small but they have everything you need. There are monitors with Flight statuses, snack bar with cookies, brownies, trail mix, crackers, soups, and rice. The staff are great and they have free beer and spirits. You can order more premium drinks for a cost. They also have a line of outlets at the window but that faces the planes and not the TV. I have no complaints. Nice little spot. read more

A decent refuge from the gates I parked myself at the bar. All drinks are not complimentary. I believe the only beer without an upcharge was Miller Light draft which I proceeded to down. A healthy tip kept em coming. The only grabngo snacks they advertise was individual bags of Smart Food popcorn. There were 2 soup options, one labeled a vegetable looked like noodles floating in water the other clam chowder was empty. They eventually refilled the clam chowder. It has to be the worst quality I've ever had. Tasted like a poor potato soup. I had to return after my flight was cancelled and they had set up a quacamole station. Worst I've ever tasted. I left a new black ball cap behind, filed a missing item report but have heard nothing. Overall experience was better than sitting at the gate but I probably could have put the $79 one time pass fee to better use at one of the restaurants close to the gate. Would never pay $79 x 2 for this club. I happened to be traveling solo. I've had much better experience at other Admiral Club locations. read more

Actually, a really nice lounge. I was surprised by the food offerings they had here for lunch. They had a guacamole station where it was handmade for each individual. The guacamole was absolutely delicious. They also had cooked shrimp, rice, and tortillas to make shrimp soft tacos as well. The bar was typical had your typical pores. I highly recommend paying for the upgraded wine as the house wine is not very good. There were plenty of cappuccino machines as well and a good selections of cookies and dessert options. The only negative is it was a small space and they seem to have over stacked tables and chairs to maximize the amount of people at the lounge. read more

I enjoy coming to the admiral club before a flight, the lower A gate location is usually crowded and can be a struggle to get a good seat depending when you come in. The food is warm and they rotate it out often enough that it is never cold. The bartenders are great and it's a nice place to relax. I have worked in the lounge before and it can be greta for answering emails however there is always a little too much background noise for taking work calls. AA should be embarrassed with their largest club at Phoenix International. For my wife and I it started with the almost hostile greetings by the guest services personnel checking your credentials for entry. I went here after a long 10 hour flight, and a 4 hour layover between my next flight. I was tired and wanted some place to sit and eat, so I decided to try the Admirals Lounge. It was nice for 4 hours. Plenty of food options, that would keep me fed for my four hour layover. The place was clean, and they had a chip and guacamole stand when I was there. What a joke. They have Reserved seats and are turning paying members away. When I asked how the seats were reserved (20+ years and I have never seen this) they collectively said "it's a service". There are several Admiral's clubs in terminal 4. They are all small, and they all have different hours. The staff are helpful. One of the check-in purple helped me with changing flights when the computer changed my flights on an upcoming reservation. The food is limited, but it's included in the membership. There is water, tea, coffee. There is a bar, I have no idea what's available there. If you are here super early, there may not be food or milk for drinks (tea) available. The staff keeps the food area clean. Overall, it's a nice place to relax away from the gates. read more

We used the Admiral's Club located in Terminal 4, near gate A7. There are two other locations, all further down in Terminal 4. The others are near gates 19-21 and at gate 27. All are smaller than most other Admiral's Clubs I've been in. The buffet is pretty limited by size, with fewer complementary choices. Seating can be difficult at times. The staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant. The front desk staff are willing to help if you have to rebook or change a flight. There is a full bar and well drinks, wine etc are complementary. read more

Near gate B3, it's a very small lounge but has great views on the airplanes and runway outside. Good food selection and a circular bar with a large variety of drinks. Seating is ample and very cozy. Bathrooms aren't great and are very small. Staff are friendly and attentive. Another issue is the lack of charging outlets. You really have to fight to get one! read more
