Small dive with top notch food and service. Our server Maddison was delightful. Seasonal menu - get the sweet potatoes with green harissa and roasted sesame while they're on the menu!

Mille-feuille (pronounced mil-foy) was the reason why I visited Kid Sister. It's a rare dessert for a Phoenix restaurant to have on the menu. A French dessert made of puff pastry and pastry cream, it's light, airy, delicate that's perfect for warm weather. I also had boquerones (marinaded anchovies) and the bomba rice. Both are equally exceptional. This was a memorable meal.

Dare I say... the best opening of 2024. To be honest, it's not even a close race in my eyes. I feel lucky to live in Phoenix while we're getting to experience service and quality to a Michelin level without the pretension or California prices. It's not cheap here, but it's worth it. This is my new go-to fancy spot. Service is amazing, with tastes available for all by-the-glass wines. Staff are personable and knowledgeable about the wines without being snooty or making you feel uneducated. They have a wide range of bottles and a smaller (but diverse) selection of wines by the glass. For a wine bar, their food is a stand out. The menu is relatively small and rotates seasonally. I've never had anything less than excellent. We almost always get a crudo, and I love saving room for dessert. It's a great spot for a date or double date, with small plates to share with the table. Their NYE prix fixe was fantastic, with one of my favorite pairings I've had in recent memory. I can't recommend this place more highly for a special occasion (or just celebrating everyday life, if you're bougie like that).

Kid Sister is a wonderful wine bar with fantastic, thoughtful food that offers a fully curated experience. The environment is cosy and sophisticated with black and white films playing in the background. I stopped in solo for dinner and left full and happy. At my server's suggestion I had the sweet potatoes to start. The star of this dish was the marinated feta. I could have had a plate of just that covered in the green harissa. The sweet potatoes themselves didn't do much- this dish probably would have been even more delightful if they were replaced by a roasted carrot. Nonetheless, the combination made me clear the plate. Next up was the linguica. The sausage was well spiced and clearly made with care. Here, I took a little issue with the white beans. Restaurants do tend to do beans a bit al dente and I personally want them to be well cooked and creamy. We'll just call this a style preference. In terms of wines I had a lovely Italian white, but wasn't enthusiastic about any of the reds by the glass ( and my terrific server let me try them all!). All this to say, I loved my experience but nothing I had reached the level of sheer delight I want at this price point. Still, the menu rotates often and this spot would be more than worth another try when I'm in PHX again.

came here with my parents on a sunday night and it was soooo quiet and lovely; it was the perfect atmosphere for the vibes me and my parents were going for. our server was extremely kind and patient, letting my mom try a couple different wines before deciding on her glass for the night. i saw on instagram that they had just introduced their new spring menu and was too enticed to miss out. we ordered the chips & serrano ham, boquerones, snap pea salad, trout rilletes, mushrooms al ajillo, bomba rice, and mille-feuille. (we wanted to order everything but ultimately figured it'd be too much). everything was done soooo simply yet it had so much flavor! each ingredient really shined through in each dish and was put their was intention. my parents and i were all blown away by the mushrooms al ajillo in particular! AMAZING!! my glass of gewurztraminer was crisp and an amazing complement to the meal. ended the meal w espresso and their mille-feuille! it was perfectly flaky and the cream was light and not too sweet; the jam gave it a little extra freshness, a perfect combo!

This is SUCH a cool tucked away gem off of 7th street. The wine bar is absolutely beautiful with instagrammable decoration and an old time movie playing in the background. Such a great spot to sit and catchup with a friend. I didn't love the orange wine but I would be interested to try the other wines here. My friend enjoyed her red wine thoroughly. Would also recommend the marinated olives but I wish they came with crackers or something else!

If I could give Kid Sister more than 5 stars, I would! From the moment you walk in, this wine bar feels like a hidden gem tucked right into the heart of Phoenix. The space is cozy but stylish -- warm lighting, desert-modern décor, and that perfect buzz of conversation that lets you know you're somewhere special. The wine list is so well curated. They focus on interesting, small producers and natural wines, but the staff makes it easy for anyone to enjoy -- whether you're a casual sipper or a full-on wine nerd. I loved that they offered tastes before committing to a glass and really took the time to explain the story behind each wine. The food is next-level too. Every dish feels carefully crafted -- from the Parisian gnocchi and pan con tomate to the branzino with white beans (my personal favorite). The portions are ideal for sharing, and everything pairs beautifully with the wine list. Service is a 10/10. Everyone was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell the team loves being there, and that energy makes the experience even better. Perfect for: date night, catching up with friends, or winding down after a long day. It's relaxed, elevated, and totally worth the visit. I'll definitely be back -- Kid Sister just became one of my go-to spots in Phoenix for a classy, delicious night out.

I do love this spot and they have a great wine list but my most recent visit was a little annoying. I was raving about this place to my friend so first we were going to meet there for dinner. I do recommend reservations if you do want to go for dinner as it is pretty small. However upon further research on their menu it seemed very limited so my friend and I decided to only get wine and go somewhere else for food. But after a glass we decided to get the carrot dip which I got last time and was very good. This time when it arrived there was a very small amount of limp crudités on the plate and the bartender didn't bring any silverware. Because the crudité was so limp it was even hard to get any of the dip... the point right? Also one of the crudités was a garlic clove... hmmm. Once we got through the crudités there was still dip left. I asked the bartender if we could have a few more crudités for the rest of the dip and she said she would ask the chef. When she returned she said we could get more but there would be a charge. The dip was already $20!!! We declined and asked for a spoon so we could eat the rest of the dip. She mentioned that because it is fresh veggies they have a limited portion.... Still $20 for carrot dip was a bit over the top. So that is very disappointing. Plus the menu... we told the bartender that my friend had a dairy allergy so she presented us with a modified menu which had things underlined and crossed out based on the ingredients. There was the sourdough and clarified butter but because there was no notes like the other items and it wasn't crossed out my friend thought it was dairy free butter but when we asked she said obviously it's clarified butter. Not dairy free... i will be back for wine but likely not the food.

Wow, did these guys exceed expectations! We were downtown for a cocktail-and-schmooze thing and decided to grab a bite afterward. The first restaurant we stopped at was unexpectedly closed, and this was within walking distance. Yes, the menu is small, but everything we ordered was delicious. We sat at the bar and received great service from the bartender. Killer wine options and great banter. The crudo was especially delightful. I was a little apprehensive about a new place with a tiny menu that you can't view online ahead of time, but I wholeheartedly recommend Kid Sister and we will definitely be back.

Came here for a girls night and had such a lovely experience! The wine selection was great, and I always love a small, curated seasonal menu. We ordered almost everything--skipped only the oeuf mayonnaise and pork collar. The food overall was great (not mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable). The focaccia was my least favorite--more dense than the fluffy kind I usually go for--but the tuna crudo, gem salad, and tomato tarte were all standouts! The profiteroles were hands-down the best part of the night. Service was friendly and attentive, and surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded for a Friday night. Super cute and trendy spot--would come back for the vibes and dessert alone!

A wonderful place! Came with a small group and tried almost one of everything on the menu. The flavors blew me away with pairings I wouldn't have thought of. Such a unique and all around amazing evening. They can help with wine parings, and everything to even the desert was perfect. Wonderful service as well!

Super cute and vibey spot for a glass of wine! I liked how the options were a little more off the wall than your tradition straight forward varietals. The server was attentive and helpful and let us sample a few options before we decided. I wish there were a few more snack options as most were heavier apps, but overall a good experience.

Cute place, friendly staff, nice options for wine by the glass. Loved the non-alcoholic sparkling tea.

GOOD! inspired by taco bell's baja blast hahahah). they TREATED us to all three of their current desserts on the menu. it was the most pleasant surprise i could've imagined. my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake! it was like a thick, rich brownie, had passion fruit cream to "lighten it up" and a caramel-like taffy on the bottom my brother and sister-in-law both said their favorite was the gulab jamun (which is basically like little fried dough balls/donuts, influenced by indian flavors and spices). the mille-feuille was also fantastic - the pastry was light and airy, cream wasn't too sweet and also very light, shaved cheese on top made it have a savory bite, and the jam alongside it was strawberry rhubarb. service is always amazing, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; it seems like everybody working here truly enjoys it. quite literally already have a reservation booked at valentine and will be coming back here beforehand. update: came back for more drinks (fernet & coke, spaghett western, negroni) and their lamb flauta. all AMAZING! and amazing order to whet the appetite before dinner at valentine.

Record players in the corner and a fireplace on the opposite side of this dimly lit bar created a cozy vibe on a chilly Saturday night. We arrived right at opening and the bar filled up quickly but the volume still made it easy to have a conversation and still have an intimate night out. The drinks, this time, well balanced and delicious. My wife had the the Pantera Rosa and I had the Last Word. Both were delicious and not overly sweet. I love a good "Last Word" but the tea added a welcome and subtle layer. A nicely created cocktail without shaming the original. Servers were attentive, constantly filling up water, and making sure we were well taken care of. We will be back!

Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Honestly, I'm sitting here craving the food again just looking back at the pictures I took. This is definitely one of those restaurants that sticks in your mind long after you leave.
