I genuinely cannot WAIT to come back to this place. From the second I walked in, the atmosphere felt so classy, elegant, and elevated without being pretentious. It's the kind of restaurant that makes getting dressed up feel exciting and worth it, and I absolutely loved that about the experience. It felt like such a perfect date night spot or place to celebrate something special. The servers were also extremely attentive the entire night. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about gluten-free options (I have celiac disease), which I really appreciated. The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. I stopped by Society for a drink after a burlesque show at Tempe Improv (which is right next door). Located in a busy shopping center, you'll be able to find a free parking spot. Once you arrive, you'll take the stairs up to the second floor to reach this bar and restaurant. Ambiance (4.5/5): This is one of the areas where Society shines. I love the ambiance here, everything from the lights to the decor and decorations. I sat at the bar. It makes for a great date spot. Service (4/5): While we just had one drink, the service experience was a smooth one. We were greeted promptly, given a few minutes to peruse the menu before our order was taken, and when I wanted to close out, that was done promptly. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet on this visit. Drinks (4/5): Society has an interesting cocktail menu with pretty good prices. Outside of that, they also have a full bar. I was satisfied with my cocktail and would definitely come back after a comedy show at Tempe Improv for a nightcap. Next time around, I'll have to try the food. read more

They customized our menus for the occasion! :) Ambiance is low light and a cute restaurant - good for casual drinks to a fancy dinner, which we were there for! Love the mirror for pictures near the bathrooms. It's located near Trader Joe's, and it is upstairs next to the Improv. Because of the area, there is no shortage of parking in the evening hours. First, we started with two drinks, a cocktail and a wine. I did not enjoy the wine, but the cocktail was yummy! We got the crispy Brussels sprouts & kale to start, and it was DELICIOUS!!! I'd 1000% get this again on my next trip to Society. For entrees, we shared vodka pasta and the filet, and both were good - not great! I'd like to try some other entree items to see how they compare. We had an amazing date night experience at Society! We had to sit at the bar because we didn't have a reservation and they were "booked" for the first hour. So I guess make sure you put in a reservation if you're coming on a weekend night. I put "booked" in quotes because within the hour we were there, we still saw a lot of empty tables. I made a reservation for Society for a group of 7 for last Saturday. It was a great experience, and we can't wait for an excuse to come back! The interior is so cute and very clean. The staff were all really friendly too. As a group, we shared the whipped feta and a couple of avocado Caesar salads to start. Everything tasted really fresh. My husband and I split the 'nduja vodka pasta and added a meatball. The sauce was creamy and flavorful, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The meatball was tasty too! Everyone in our group enjoyed their pastas. For dessert, we all shared the flourless almond cake and the brownie al cioccolato. Ooh this was my first time here and the pasta alla vodka was delicious! I got it with sausage on top because your girl needs meat in her pasta. I also tried my friends brussel sprout salad and that was delicious as well. This place is a whole vibe. We sat in the first room right by the hostess stand and the second room had a dj playing. Not sure if that's just a weekend thing though. We were here on a Friday night. There's a lot of cute places to take pictures and a lot of people were dressed up. A friend and I tried Society last night for the first time and it was great. It is aesthetically, beautiful, and the food is amazing. We had the burrata appetizer. Our entrées were the penne à la vodka, and the parmesan crusted chicken over orzo. Finally, we had a chocolate brownie with vanilla green ice cream and caramel for dessert. All were truly great. The portion size is perfect as well. I wish I could give the restaurant 4.5 stars. I have two points of concern, but they are nothing major. First, the parking. The restaurant is located above the Tempe Improv. Because the restaurant is located in a popular plaza that contains a Trader Joe's in the heart of college-focused Tempe, I could not get parking. Second, service was definitely slow. The entire serving staff was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, but the pace was definitely slow. This wasn't a big deal because I was enjoying time with my friend, but there were at least a couple of times where it really dragged out. Society has been on my bucket list for about a year, and it more than delivered. First, the service was outstanding, led by Brooke, who took incredible care of our table. She expertly matched everyone's tastes with both drinks and menu selections, and her recommendations were spot-on throughout the evening. Everything we ordered was interesting, beautifully prepared, and executed perfectly: the Burrata & Figs appetizer (ideal for sharing), Pesto Pasta, Wild Mushroom Pasta, and the Pound O' Mussels served over their tomato-infused spaghetti. A few friends and I went to a pre prom birthday dinner at society. We would definitely say it was a mixed bag. We started with the feta dip, which was ok, but had too much honey for my taste and didn't come with enough regular bread for each person (4) to have a slice (there was pita but still)... we tried the Mac and Alfredo balls, the balls themselves were just ok but the vodka sauce was delish. We had the bacon wrapped dates, which were tasty. For entrees, I had the chicken with orzo and have to say I was a little disappointed. It's a bit like chicken parm, the chicken itself was really good but it came on top of giant pieces of burnt broccolini that took away from the flavor of the whole dish. The orzo under the chicken was good, kinda risotto like, but there was so little of it. This dish could be awesome with some tweaks. We all really liked the gin pistachio pasta.., that sauce was amazing. The service at the bar was good. They brought out a little ice cream treat for my birthday, which was also nice. We had a round of drinks, and all were delicious. We ordered the dates and whipped feta as apps. They all came out quickly and again were so delicious. We all raved about the feta! If you like feta, definitely try this! All of our dishes came out piping hot and after our first bites we knew we were hooked. The place is pretty spacious with a cool, romantic vibe. The staff was wonderful throughout that night. They kept popping over to make sure we were good. Where to begin with you, Dominic? My boyfriend, Steven (not Kyle) left a review about an experience we had the night of Tuesday, 12/16. After I graduated with my M.S. from ASU, we wanted to go out to celebrate. Unfortunately, we did not have a reservation and were turned away. It totally makes sense, these things happen, but his frustration came from the fact that what we believed to be the only elevator on property was out of order. I have a disability but chose to walk up the stairs because we were excited to try the restaurant. Additionally, the hostess was condescending when she turned us away. I was initially willing to chalk up her tone to it being a busy evening, but after reading your response, Dominic, I think it's the culture you find acceptable. Now to address your ad hominem attacks on Kyle (and also Steven): *There was only one sign we saw about an elevator being under the main staircase, and that elevator had a sign that it was out of order. No note for a second elevator nearby to use. As a business on the second floor, you should advocate to have more clear signage of the elevators on property, and maybe for elevator repairs. Clearly Kyle and his girlfriend didn't know about the second one either. *I can't speak for Kyle's girlfriend, but I know for myself that when I do climb stairs, the help I receive from whoever I'm with is them carrying my walker. If you choose to look back at your cameras from that night, you'll see Steven walking me down the stairs. *It's kind of weird that you'd leave such an aggressive response, so full of self righteous anger, because you're convinced you know who the reviewer is. As if 13% of the population isn't disabled, which means there could feasibly be more than one couple where one of the individuals is disabled and utilized a walker. I spoke to a manager on duty tonight. He was far more professional than you, though the excuse of "mistaken identity" falls flat when your response was unprofessional in the first place. If you want to check your security footage, it was sometime between 10pm and 11pm that we tried going. I believe I told the manager 10pm, so I'd like to clarify now that it may have been later before you try to have some "gotcha" moment again. I don't live in Tempe. I was in town to celebrate my accomplishment with the man I love, who is not a disease unto himself. It was a bummer to not get to try Society, something I was personally willing to move past quickly, but not so much anymore. Should I ever return, I will not go to Society. I have a vast network in Tempe because of ASU, and I will ensure they see the incredibly rude, unprofessional, and incorrect response so they know what kind of person runs this establishment.
