Carne Asada tacos with rice and beans
    Heidi M.

My bestie and I decided to stop in at Blanco for her birthday lunch. She had never been before, so she was excited to give them a try. We were seated right away, and our server came right over and took our order. We both enjoyed the chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. My friend ordered the carne asada tacos, and I ordered off the Viva Combo Menu. I chose a Ground Beef taco, carnitas taco, and side of queso. The queso and the ground beef taco was delicious but carnitas taco was super salty. Overall, we both enjoyed our time hanging out, and our server was great!

So my friends and I gathered here for happy hour to celebrate my birthday and we had so much fun! While their happy hour ends quite early, 5 PM, some of us were able to squeeze in a drink or two before the deadline, we shared the crisps (amazing) and the ceviche was yummy too. I've uploaded the HH menu so you can take a look Service was attentive without being intrusive- lots of laughs were had by all. It's a great place for groups too

Really liked that they added happy hour items starting at five dollars. This is what happy hour should be about everything you see in my photo was a total of $120. I did not show the drinks but we did get two surveys, margarita, sangria, and two shots all for 120.

This place was great. The decor inside was modern yet festive and fun. There's also a patio area, but way too hot to sit outside during the summer for me. Located super close to the ASU campus, it was also the perfect stop before heading to the airport. The Taco Salad was delicious as were the chips and salsa. The margaritas did not disappoint either! Don't forget to receive validation for your parking ticket from the host stand. There's a parking structure a couple hundred feet away for parking.

Didn't love the food here! Food was below average tasting. Just bland, tasteless, and boring! I went to the Blanco in Phoenix a while back and had their slow cooked pork tacos, which were dreamy, but that item is no longer on the menu. Too bad, so sad... Giving 3 stars since our server was very nice and accommodating to my husband's celiac disease. Even though she was not knowledgeable about the menu, she She made sure to ask the right person to prevent my husband from being poisoned with gluten! I do remember the Rosa Bonita margarita being delicious! And it's a great, happening place for just cocktails!

We celebrated birthdays here past weekend and it was very fun. The food is okay for me but everyone enjoyed their meals. I ordered the chicken tinga bowl. The chips are fresh and delicious. The burritos are huge and comes with sides. I enjoyed the watermelon agua Fresca (a must!). Service is very good! Ambiance is nice and the only disadvantage is the parking.

Solid Mexican food! The skinny margaritas are really delicious however if you don't like spice, do not get the tajin rim. The tajin is house made and it is SPICY AF! I hardly survived haha The chips and salsa are really good and the enchiladas plate was a total hit!

Went here for a work event and had the most amazing dinner. I was able to experience the appetizers, main course, and dessert. The queso fundido was so delicious as was the cheese dip. I had the hardest time choosing what to get for dinner. I finally decided on the enchilada trio. It was amazing, the charro beans are so good. The most flavorful beans I've had. The trio comes with a cheese, pork, and chicken enchilada. For dessert they had was the pineapple empanadas which were great. I didn't have the fajitas but the smell made me wish I had them. The service was fantastic! Very attentive. The restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is bright and beautiful. I can't wait to try it again soon!

Very cute place to eat. The food was delicious and our server was great. He was very attentive, answered any questions that we may have had and was very thorough.

Chips and salsa! Yum! Not too spicy, but enough to give it a little kick and a nice flavor!

I've been wanting to try this restaurant as it is part of the Fox Concepts Group. Located in Central Tempe near Arizona State University, it is in a new development of other Fox restaurants. We arrived early on a Saturday morning so we were one of the first parties to occupy a table in the restaurant. The restaurant is clean, interesting and inviting. We were sat in a large booth and given time to look at the menu. There is also a ton of patio seating if eating outside is your thing. This is one of those menus that gives you a nice selection, but not an overwhelming selection. Right away I chose the short rib Machaca burrito and my husband chose the Carne Asada burrito. We were each very happy with our selections! My short rib was so tender and delicious, it was amazing! My plate was overflowing with beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole and the burrito. And to top it all off, it was served enchilada style. I can't remember the last time I've been in a Mexican restaurant and I've been served all of these things without an up charge. Be warned that the chips and salsa are so good. You don't want to fill up before your food comes!! The chips are just how you like them. Crunchy and lightly salted, not too thin, not too thick. The salsa had just the perfect amount of kick and was a great combination of onions, tomatoes and spices. Feel free to go ahead and dig that chip in there and get a nice chunk of salsa on there before you pop it in your mouth. We both concur that the food was filling and flavorful, and we will definitely make the trek again! I spoke to Jazz, the manager, just to let her know how much we enjoyed our experience and the food on our first visit. She let us know that the food is made fresh each and every day. You can tell, it is just so amazing you have to try it! Our server, Nick made sure we were well stocked with everything that we needed at all times. He did a great job taking care of us. So if you're in the market for Mexican food pass up that new Mexican place by the mall (which is way too noisy) and check this place out instead. Prices are good, food is amazing and service is just how you would like.

I came here on a Friday night with some friends. We had a reservation and I'm glad we did since it was really busy. Blanco validates parking in the Novus and Packard garages. I really love the all of the Mexican inspired decor here, but it was loud. Definitely had to strain to hear the people talking at my table, and even the waitress was hard to hear. But she was also very nice and attentive. We came during happy hour which had some really good deals. I ended up just ordering the happy hour guacamole, crispy sweet potato and chicken pastor tacos. I enjoyed everything I ate and our food came out fast and hot. Some of my friends didn't love the sampler platter that they'd ordered, but they did enjoy the drinks.

Stopped in for a bite and drink before the football game. This place is so conveniently located just a short walk from the stadium. The service was amazing. Our waitress Alyana was phenomenal. She was attentive, knowledgeable and very welcoming. Loved the complimentary salsa. The housemade splice was my favorite. Ordered: Chicken Tinga enchiladas 9/10 Crunchy taco salad 8/10 Caramel apple empanadas 9/10 The food came out quickly even with the pre game rush. Everything cooked well and seasoned nicely.

Sometimes the best meals happen because your original plan falls through. That was exactly the case…read morehere, and honestly... I'm not even a little mad about it. I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

We ordered the carne asada tacos, carne asada quesadilla, al pastor tacos, and tripa tacos so we could sample a little bit of everything. The carne asada tacos had that savory, grilled flavor I look for, with tender bites of meat tucked into warm tortillas and finished with fresh onion and cilantro. The al pastor had a beautiful balance of smoky, seasoned, and slightly sweet flavors, while the tripa brought a deeper richness and satisfying texture to the lineup. The carne asada quesadilla was another standout--crispy around the edges, melty and cheesy inside, with generous pieces of seasoned carne asada throughout. The salsa bar was definitely a bonus. There was a nice variety of salsas and toppings, so we could build each taco exactly how we wanted. A little onion, cilantro, salsa, and a good kick of heat brought everything together. For a spontaneous late-night taco run, Taco Boys delivered exactly what we were craving--bold flavors, satisfying tacos, and plenty of ways to customize every bite. Definitely worth remembering when the late-night cravings strike.

I told the nice man at the counter this was my first time and asked for his recommendation on what people order the most. Without hesitation he said the carne asada taco and the fried fish taco. So that's what I ordered. Food was prepared promptly, the restaurant is small, only 1 other table of guests were there. They have a small topping bar with sauces, pico, pickled onions, cilantro & onions, etc...I picked up the sauces, touched the bottom of the plastic squeeze bottles and non of them felt cool to the touch. So I passed on those. While waiting for my food, I noticed the place could really use a cool cleaning. Old, dirty and empty containers that hold utensils looked like they have never been scrubbed with hot soapy water, the floor between the counter and topping bar had a pile of grim and dirt. The windows were dirty and the worst part... the wall AC unit was draining water down the wall and onto the seat at my table hitting me with overspray. When I used the restroom I noticed it could use a good cleaning too. The door had dirty hand marks, the wall tiles were dirty, etc. just overall the place looks like someone has lost their drive to keep up on it. The food... the three bites I took of the carne asada taco had to be spit out, so much fat and gristle it was unpleasant. So I tried the fried fish taco he recommended...it had a very generous portion of fish on two corn tortillas. The fish batter seemed old and dirty. The batter was mushy and a very dark brown color. I took a bite and nothing resembled fish. I broke open the other piece of it and it was a mushy ball of batter, no fish. I dug around and broke open another chunk to find a piece of white flakey fish. I took a bite and it just did not taste good at all. I tossed everything in the trash and left. My advice to the owners...have someone come in with fresh motivated eyes and help you update the untidy things, change your oil more often, and wipe the cutting board off that's used throughout the day to chop the carne that's visible while anyone is standing at the counter. It's gross to see pieces of meat left on the board and who knows how long it's been there and what pieces will be included in our tacos . Disappointed. Won't be back. Hopeful they improve from my feedback and continue on.

Their bathroom was also out of paper towels and low on soap, so that was unfortunate. Food is still delicious! I got their breakfast taco and some regular tacos. Their open bar for the salsas and garnishes always make me super happy.

After attending a performance at the Phoenix Theatre Company, I was on the prowl for a small meal…read more Taco Boy's was in the area, so I made my way. Located on Roosevelt Row, Taco Boy's has a parking lot. It's not big, but I found a spot on a Thursday evening. Ambiance (3.5/5): Taco Boy's is a little chaotic. You order at the counter and then they call your name when your food is ready. It's not a large taco joint, and it's a popular taco joint. Which means you'll see a lot of people cycling in and out, as a lot place to-go orders too. Not the most calm experience, but not an issue for me. You'll also come out smelling like meat lol. They have an open kitchen, and it smells fantastic. The downside is that it sticks to your clothes, too. Service (4/5): Service isn't a big part of the experience, but for what it is, it's pretty smooth. They took my order quickly, I paid relatively quickly, and my food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Drinks (5/5): I'm a sucker for agua frescas. Taco Boy's delivers. They had four flavors available. I went with the pineapple/mango. It's served in a large cup. Good stuff. Food (5/5): I wasn't terribly hungry so I got a small barbacoa quesadilla. Outside of quesadillas, they have tacos, vampiros, and burritos. Your choice of meat including usual suspects like carne asada, al pastor, chicken, etc. They grill all of their food right in front of you and it's absolutely delicious. Fresh off the grill. Flavorful. Well marinated. Quality meats and ingredients. At the complimentary salsa bar, you can stock up on various sauces, limes, cucumbers, etc. I can't wait to get back to have a heartier meal and try out more of their items. Hands-down, the best Mexican food I've had in Phoenix so far (after a year and a half).
