Coming here makes me want to move to Tempe where beautiful people are everywhere and the food is incredible. Just prior to saying goodbye after a long trip that ended here in Tempe and heading to Sky Harbor to go home, hung out here on a perfect mid March high noon. Outdoor seating with shade and warm rays was available and sampled some amazing appetizers. One was goat cheese with arugula, some kind of a toasted artisan bread, and pink grapefruit I believe. 5/5; also had a rich but sinfully delicious cremini mushroom fondue 5/5; had meatballs in a tomato meat sauce (very light and flavorful) and for my main dish has the P.R.E.A.M. Bowl 5/5. Except for the fondue which was sinfully delish, the dish led were light and cleanly cooked and very fresh. Was easily the best place I ate at while in the Phoenix area. Postino is a wonderful restaurant option if you love wine, bread, and cheese. I typically avoid alcohol, gluten, and dairy, so it's really not the best option for me personally. Our server did offer to accommodate my diet and I tried a mocktail, a deconstructed sandwich with no cheese or bread (they do offer a gluten-free bread option but I don't personally care for it), and a salad with no dairy. I really appreciate the willingness to accommodate and that meant so much to me. But the quality of the food was very average. The grilled chicken was incredibly bland and tasted not very fresh. I really didn't enjoy my meal and probably wouldn't return to Postinounless I planned to eat bread and cheese because that's really where they shine. read more

This is Postino's Tempe location near ASU campus. I have stopped in here a few times. Postino WineCafe is known for their large variety of wines and bruschetta boards. Because it was spring time, I started off with a Holly's Way Chardonnay and some olives. Some of my usual bruschetta choices include Brie, Apple & Fig, Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil, Burrata, Bacon, Arugula & Tomato and Salami & Pesto. I came here with a friend recently. We took advantage of the $6 happy hour glasses of wine and ended up hanging out for a while. We ordered the chicken skewers and enjoyed it. Btw.. you have to try the Olive Oil Cake. It is really good. Postino has locations in a number of states now. They've really grown since opening their first location on 40th Street and Campbell over 20 years ago. I love how majority of their locations are in old rustic buildings that have been restored. This location has a nice shaded outdoor patio. Postino gained popularity with their Mon/Tues bottle and board nights. They recently just started up their Wine Cult subscription where you get a select bottle of wines quarterly and special discounts if you sign up. We had a really nice dinner experience at Postino Annex. We arrived just before the end of happy hour on a busy Friday, and the place had great energy. The four of us shared a couple of boards and pitchers of beer, and everything was delicious. We sat outside on the sidewalk patio, which added to the fun atmosphere. Service was superb throughout the night. We split a bruschetta board where you choose four options -- we went with the brie, apple & fig spread; a beef and cheese special; sweet and spicy jam with goat cheese; and ricotta with dates and pistachios. They even cut everything into quarters without us asking, which made sharing easy. We also ordered the Chef's Charcuterie, which was excellent, and they happily brought extra bread and crackers when we asked. Plenty of food, great service, and a lively location made for a very enjoyable evening. read more

Meh. I'd seen this place before since it's next to snooze. A friend of a friend recommended it, so we went here for a pre-race dinner. The good: food was good overall, but not great. I had the chicken and mozzarella panini and upgraded to the daily soup, which was way over salted. I tasted one of the bruschettas and it was delicious. The service was lackluster. Had to ask for refills. Didn't get asked about the food (hence me not being able to say the soup was over salted). Our server came back and asked about dessert. My friend wanted the olive oil cake, and I asked to see the menu. When he came back I said we wanted the olive oil cake and the hazelnut crunch. The cake came and we waited, and waited, and waited. We were done with the cake and the second dessert never appeared. We asked and he said "you just ordered the cake" even though the other 3 people all heard we wanted both. He offered "to go get it" but by that time, we no longer wanted it. Honestly, just seemed like our server didn't care too much. read more

Great service where everyone who serviced my table was all smiles and friendly. They frequently checked on my table to make sure we were good. I got the CHEF'S CHARCUTERIE board which was refreshingly light. Everything on the board was so tastey, but I especially loved the olives and whipped feta. Then there was dessert. My boyfriend and I went to Postino in Tempe before catching a movie and loved everything we ate and drank. Our server said she was new, but gave us amazing wine recommendations that we loved; if you love sweet wine, get the moscato! We also split a board and a nine iron sandwich which were all delicious. The nine iron is my favorite sandwich here! We went at 4:30pm and got to have $6 glasses of wine before 5pm which was great! The place itself wasn't packed like usual, I'm assuming because ASU is on break, which made us have a speedy service. The food here is good. Their specialty is the bruschetta, which is probably French for "Bread with stuff on it." They sell a board of 4, which you get to mix and match, and they have good options and it's a fun eat. There is other stuff on their menu too, but I can't speak to it because the bruschetta is good enough that I'm not willing to try anything else. The atmosphere is nice. Like most places in Phoenix, they open it up to the outside when the weather is nice, and they have ample outdoor seating. The joint is clean, and has an atmosphere that could work for a date, a business lunch, hanging out with friends - whatever. Not too fancy, but a classy casual. DO NOT ORDER DESERT HERE. 8 of us spent 40 minutes after our meal waiting for a single Hazelnut Bar while the waitress assured us "it's on the way" and then intentionally disappeared because she knew she was full of shit. The whole point of a 'bar' is that you just cut it out of a tray, and then plate it. Takes 3 minutes. I've done it. I assumed they ran out and were making it from scratch, except that when it arrived, it looked like shit, so it wasn't freshly made. I don't have any other gripes with the service, but this was absurd. read more

I had THE BEST experience here the other day! My friend and I had a reservation on Friday night, but when we arrived it still looked like there were lots of tables available for walk ins. It was a dimmer and intimate setting, with good music and chill, moody decor. There was indoor and outdoor seating. It was my first time visiting a Postinos, and our server Carrie really made me feel special when she brought out a complimentary bruschetta for us to try! I decided to try the one Cabernet Sauvignon on the menu (Centenario) and it was very easy to drink, on the lighter side. It was the red wine I was looking for and hoping for that evening. Highly recommend. We also ordered the pick 4 bruschetta board and choose the following: -a hummus option that was their special that evening. (It was good) -sweet and spicy jam and goat cheese (this was my #2) -burrata, bacon and arugula (THIS WAS MY FAVORITE) -ricotta, dates and pistachio (this was my least favorite, but still good) To go, we split the chicken and mozzarella panini on focaccia bread. It was incredible. Carrie also did an awesome job explaining the wine club they offer there. I will definitely be considering that, since the Centenario wine I tried was so good. Nothing is wrong with the food ever I've been multiple times. I highly recommend the lemon butter chicken and boards. However tonight was different. I tried to order an appetizer with my beer and I was declined and told " I'm only taking drink orders right now. To expand on that our waiter literally was rude to all of us and took 30+ mins to bring us our check. Also he only topped our water once and mind you this is a table of nine people who are hungry and also drinking alcohol and need water. Wish I would've caught this guys name because he has no place to work in the service industry. If you are in this industry and can't separate personal problems to work problems it's not the job for you buddy. Do better with your hires postinos. Anyways hopefully this guys sees this because you know exactly who you are. read more

My review is specific to ordering bruschetta boards to-go through Uber Eats. This location is so inconsistent with their quality of food that is sent for take out. When you order to-go, sometimes the bread is toasted, sometimes it's not; sometimes you get sufficient toppings, most of the time toppings are seriously lacking; sometimes you get weird things in your food like 4 long herb stems that aren't even related to what was ordered. I think some oversight of quality control is much needed for everything that goes out of this kitchen, especially takeout when you know people can't just send it back. Also, dessert sizes are now tiny. Again, not sure if this is a quality control issue or if Postino is joining every other company in shrinkflation. She was helpful and fun, we even got to spend a few minutes chatting and really enjoyed her company. She was like the great unexpected guest at our table and she was truly a delight. Second time coming here and loved the whole experience! First off, our server was super nice and friendly and attentive. They came to check up on us multiple times, got boxes, and made sure they had the ingredients in stock before we ordered. I love that there is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating on the patio has a great vibe with rustic lighting and heat lamps. There was plant next to me that was a little overgrown but nothing too bad I ordered the prickly pear lemonade to drink which was so good! It was pink, sweet, and sour at the same time and don't really taste like pears in a good way. To eat, I got the PREAM bowl with chicken, which had avocado, grains, a sauce, broccolini, and chicken, all of which were cooked really well and it was very tasty. The portion looks small but I ended up taking some in a box to go, so it is quite filling. We made a same-day reservation for 5:30pm on a Monday and got in with no hassle. I'd recommend coming here before sunset so you can have a great view! This location is in Tempe downtown by ASU, so there is a mix of young and older folk which is nice. read more

This is my favorite Postino's location. I usually ask to be seated on the large patio and watch the sunset over Mill Ave buildings. I also enjoy watching the parade of people walking along the sidewalk. I am glad they saved the brick annex building and decorated of with a retro, cool style. I love Postino's happy hour. I am just disappointed by the recent decision to shrinkflation their beer pitchers. They used to be 40oz size and the pour filled then to about 35oz. That resulted in basically 2 1/2 glasses of beer. The new beer pitcher size is 32oz with a pour of about 28oz (was told they were instructed to fill to the bottom of the upper handle on the pitcher) this results in basically 2 glasses with some head on the beer. Postino's happy hour is still the best craft beer value in the Valley. However, I guess they decided to do this instead of raising their $6 before 5pm pricing. I will still keep going back. I do love this place. I just hope they don't also jump the happy hour pricing again. read more

I'm really disappointed by this place after having come for many years. I went in today to eat alone and the host very matter-of-factly said they didn't have any tables for someone eating alone right now but I could go to the bar if I wanted (which I did not). Then as I was leaving they seated a two top immediately right behind me. I realize a solo diner is not as profitable as a two-top but I've never felt so unwelcome before just for eating alone. read more

Loved this restaurant. They have a wide selection and everything I had was impeccable. This restaurant was right next to the college and it's safe to walk at night. The service here was the best. Our server was Darren and she was the nicest and most helpful. You have to get the bruschetta board. It's a great appetizer to start off with. Me and my friend both got the paninis. I got mine on focaccia and she got the ciabatta. The focaccia was baked perfectly. I had leftovers since we got the bruschetta to share. We also got the espresso martinis to finish off our meal. It was delicious. Very flavorful. We sat outside and the day was beautiful. It was around 90 degrees. It was a nice atmosphere. 5+ stars! We went back to Postino Annex to celebrate the daughter's nearing completion of first year at ASU. We were running a tad late to our reservation due to heavy traffic and I called to explain our circumstances, JR, the manager listened to my explanation and ensured us we would be okay and he would notify the servers of our later arrival. We were greeted, sat, and given menus. JR came by to check in on us, super attentive and chatted with us for a bit. We ordered drinks and food and our wonderful experience at Postino continued. The spicy cauliflower was recommended and it hit the spot. Our server, Zoey was attentive, friendly, and on point. We enjoyed the delicious food in a relaxing and beautiful setting. Went to grab dinner here tonight had a reservation, it took a bit to be seated which was okay but a server was not with us for 20 minutes. I get it but the restaurant wasn't crazy busy either. 2 people at the table order pints of beer, and pitchers are brought out, we correct them and say it was just pints and they go back and clearly just pour the pitcher into a pint glass which is again fine but one was literally half foam and the other was only 3/4 full! I wish I would have taken a picture of it, as a server I would never drop that off at a table especially after already messing up the size. I made a comment to who dropped it off and was not acknowledged at all. Food ended up being okay only one thing was messed up on the board but it was corrected although I am glad we checked the receipt as we were charged for the extra bread that they had messed up and the server then got it taken off. read more
