I hadn't been to Postino in a few years, and unfortunately, I don't see myself rushing back anytime soon. The spacing between the tables was almost comical. We were literally inches from the parties on both sides, to the point where you could barely have a conversation without also hearing everyone else's. Between the noise level and trying not to accidentally eavesdrop on conversations that were basically happening at our table, it wasn't exactly relaxing. The bruschetta was also a disappointment. I used to love it, but the bread was extremely dry and nothing like the fluffy bread I remembered. The shrimp scampi appetizer was also lacking in shrimp, which is a little awkward when shrimp is supposed to be the main attraction. When I think postinos I think wine. But in this case, it was for a work team builder and no wine was had. However, we did talk about wine and other alcohol as adults do. So we had the normal fare. We got two appetizers - olives and meatballs. And then everyone got their own plate. I am a huge fan of olives. And not everyone is so you know what that means. I got to enjoy them almost all by myself. Yum. I got the Nine Iron with chips. It was pretty good and I definitely ate it all. Everyone else seem to enjoy their meal as well. The parking situation here is pretty limited given it's centrally located between multiple restaurants and a yoga studio so I recommend carpooling. Seating inside is limited and an hour wait most times but We sat outside with no wait- with misters and it wasn't bad! The bruschetta board had a bit to be desired just given the toppings on it was barely scraped on the bread. This Postino location has better parking than my usual spot (on Campbell)! The service and food were consistently great though! I visited this location for a chill catch-up with a friend that lives in the east valley. We enjoyed the great weather on the patio and the $6 wine options. My friend had the simple greens salad with steak, and I had the sweet potatoes, because I was able to identify what is vegan on the menu before visiting. Everything was great, and our server gave us plenty of space for a lengthy catch-up without interruptions. I love the environment of Postino restaurants in general, but regret that they don't offer more vegan options by default. The bruschetta is definitely the star of the show though, and I recommend the brie/apple/fig (my absolutely favourite), prosciutto/fig/marscapone, burrata/bacon/arugula, mushroom/marscapone, and the ricotta/dates/pistachio (in this order). Not so good: I'd say the menu is a tad bit overpriced but the 3 stars mainly comes from the service, the past 3 out of 4 times I've been has not been so good, since the servers will mix around and you might have 3 people bringing and getting your request which makes it easy for a simple ask of a drink refill to not be granted as the server has been around to every table, and this makes the rating hard to put higher than 3 stars. They're cold. ingredients put together but they definitely are not a panini. If it has not been heated it's a sandwich. The bread is soft. zero crunchiness that comes from heating/ pressing it. the cheese is not melted. I think they rush the to go orders. They don't even taste good, I kept thinking it was a one time thing. They must be busy, but it's not as they're charging less. And now it has happened multiple times. The only negative about this particular location that I've experienced compared to other locations is the parking situation. It is tough. If you can ride share instead, do it. I am thrilled that Postino has finally added hard liquor so you have a choice of a cocktail other than wine and beer. I ordered the OMG Grilled Cheese which is layered gruyere, whipped brie, goat cheese, white cheddar, smoked bacon, creamy tomato soup dip. The bread was very crispy which I love and the soup was salted just right. Tasty. My friend ordered the Shrimp Scampi that includes butter poached jumbo shrimp, artichoke, calabrian chili, chablis spritz, side of focaccia. She said it was cooked well. My other friend ordered the Italian Beef Dip. This is a roast beef Panini with melted brie, caramelized onions, garlic aioli, and au jus. It comes with a side salad. She said the bread was very crispy as well. I didn't catch our servers name but she was very pleasant. She was a little slow on bringing out our order, in fact she forgot our dessert but then brought us an additional dessert which was very nice.
