Winter Ale

This spot is conveniently located inside of Whole Foods Chandler so the ambiance is that of a grocery store. They have a really good selection of craft beers on tap and wine. I personally don't love the food here. I will say if you like fish and chips they have a good deal on Fridays were you can get this entree and a beer for less than $15 and it it is pretty tasty. The bartenders are very friendly and personable which is always nice. I recommend this place to grab a drink.

Beer, and more beer. Highest % beer is 16.9%

Great. Place is chill fun and you can run errands after you drink a bit. Bartenders are nice and helpful. A bunch of regulars there so bartenders flee to them... so it got a bit boring. Fresh food and daily specials! I got a burger, side, and a beer for 12.99 Overall fun experience with the convenience of being inside of a grocery store. I'll Be back and will bring a few friends!

Who would have thought? A bar inside a Whole Food Grocery Store. Thought the invite for a meet was a mistake. Nope, it wasn't, there is a bar at Whole Foods off of the 101 and Ray Road. It primarily has a large selection or different beer and wine. No N/A selections and the only soft drink is root beer which was pretty tasty. They also have a good menu so you can shop, grab a drink, have a bite, watch a ball game and then finish shopping. Novel.

Best place to hangout any day of the week ! The bartenders are the best. They always have the biggest smiles, especially Paul. If you want a great neighborhood feel come here and order a beer !

Would ya look at all those Vegan options on their menu?! Fan freaking tastic! Who woulda thunk that a little mini restaurant inside a grocery store would be the most vegan friendly restaurant in Chandler...not this guy! So here is the scoop. Whole Foods can make pretty much any pizza on their menu vegan. That being said, I'm pretty much doomed because what's better than pizza? Vegan pizza? And what's better than vegan pizza? Specialty vegan pizza...which means the waistline on my pants is going to be sounding some alarms. Anyway, I walked in and ordered a pizza and they told me 15-20 min. While I was waiting I decided to check out the Watering Hole. Amazon recently bought Whole Foods and made some renovations and I finally decided to check it out. I ordered a blueberry sour and a pomegranate sour, both of which were tasty! This place is awesome. They have a bunch of different beers on tap and two huge TVs to watch whatever sporting event is on TV. They also still sell the beer casks so you can get your favorite IPA or whatever tickles your fancy to go in a huge 32oz jug. Who wouldn't want that?! The Watering Hole also features plenty of seating so you can eat your lunch or order an item from their awesome menu and eat it at a table. I'm definitely going to give some of their vegan items a try next time I'm here.

Hazy heaven!

Amazing selection of beers rotated on a weekly basis. Amazing bartenders - super friendly and knowledgeable. Family friendly too! Nachos yumm!

I used to visit The Watering Hole before it was a thing. Always a solid selection of beers and a consistent rotation so there is something new each time you come in. They also have some interesting tasting sessions. Its a good place to order food, watch some sports, and have a good time with some friends.

I am blown away my meal was just that good and that affordable in Whole Foods. I have lived in the area for years and I certainly will be back, maybe tomorrow even? Also great customer service.

Sushi snack and a delicious brew

Having 20+ beers on tap to choose from and countless wines is always a plus in my world. Having a bar close to where my husband gets his hair cut is another plus. Pick up a snack and maybe a meal grab a beer or wine pick your poison and grab a seat. Staff is knowledgable and friendly and people watching is a ten here.

Good place for a snack and beer, it's inside whole food store. Ordered wings fried Cauliflower and Brussels. Wings were not the best a little dry and malnourished but the Brussels sprouts were good cauliflower was awesome. Good selection on drinks and they have some TVs to watch sports. Overall good place to chill. As a bonus you can grab some groceries on your way out...

It's a bar. At Whole Foods. What else do I really need to say? It's pretty neat. You can tell just by the way it is.

I got the chicken parmigiana sandwich & fries. The iced tea was good. My sandwich was okay. The fries were crispy. My sandwich was just okay because it didn't have much flavor. I was only able to eat half the sandwich & it had a couple of hard pieces. Service was not good. They weren't busy when we were there, but my iced tea was empty for a while. Then I had to flag her down to get a refill. Mediocre food & service that's not great. I don't have any reason to return. My friend goes here, but she's been going since it was the bar here before.

The totchos were great, I ate more than my stomach appreciated. My husband ordered a fried chicken sandwich with marinara and a cold beer. I did not ask him how his meal was, but his sandwich disappeared pretty quickly so im assuming it was tasty. The woman running trivia was delightful, with a fantastically dry sense of humor. At one point she mentioned she once got to see Prince and touched his ankle. Long story short, I have now touched the hand that touched Prince's ankle. We made it through 7 rounds of trivia and somehow WON! A crowning achievement of year 37 of my life, for sure. This win earned us: a $25 gift certificate to the lovely Sawtooth Bar & Grill establishment, a rubber ducky of our choosing, a crystal pendant (optional), and 1 week of ownership of the trivia night trophy . We did not trust ourselves to remember to bring back the trophy, and I did not trust some of the fellas to bring it back in one piece, so the bar staff graciously took custody of it until next week's trivia night. The bar itself is super cozy. Nice low lighting, small place but you don't feel cramped. Lots of TVs and a few arcade games. My husband and his BFF frequent this spot and tell me wonderful things about the owner. With the decor, setup, menu and general ambience, it feels like a Midwestern bar more than one in AZ. All in all, I really enjoyed myself and will happily return for another trivia night. If the staff ever happens upon this review, I apologize for the conjoined twins that are my husband and his best friend Scott. They're like a couple of labradors out on a play date when they're together. Thanks again for the fantastic evening, Sawtooth!

Decided…read moreto pull out my phone. and instead of using Yelp, I actually just punched cheesesteak into Waze, and what do you know?! I ended up finding the cheesesteak joint. This is actually a food truck, which is parked on the side of the Tipsy Catcus, which is a really cool brewery I also checked out while I was waiting for my order. This is a really chill brewery, and not a huge spot. Maybe 8 to 10 high top tables with bar seating, and a mostly open floor plan. They have a small patio too, with what looks like about another tables but because I visited at night, nobody was outside. They also seem to be extremely dog friendly as they had one table with a really chill cocker spaniel completely laid out on his side in the middle of the floor. I'm not sure how many taps they had in total, but definitely more than 40 I would say. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I ordered a cider. The cider I was served was on tap and really tasty. And it definitely hit the spot of terms of price point. One thing to note, while I was talking to the owner/manager of the tipsy cactus (shout to him because he was really cool), he told me that Friday night and Saturday nights are usually popping so I wouldn't expect to be first in line on any of those nights. It also looks like they rotate food trucks on different nights, so don't assume that the cheesesteak truck is going to be here every night. I would check the tipsy cactus website, or Instagram page to be sure. I'll definitely be looking forward to checking this place out again in the future, especially if I'm hitting one of the food trucks parked outside.

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.
