03/27/2026 I finally checked out Maeva over brunch with a friend. I got there on a Friday at 9:00am. It was not too busy - most were sitting on the patio enjoying the nice weather or in line at the coffee counter. I got a table for two right by a window. The interior looks modern chic, and has many windows so a lot of natural light was shining through. A server got my drink order shortly after being seated, then my friend arrived, but the server had disappeared for a while. It wasn't super busy, so I'm not sure what the hold-up was. I got the Matcha Strawberry off of their Signature Drinks menu, which tasted fresh and delicious. My friend started with a slice of Banana Choc Espresso Loaf - I tried a bite and it was dense with good flavor, especially the Valrhona chocolate. For brunch I got the Maeva "BEC" (bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich), and my friend got the Treg's Breakfast (eggs, bacon, and sourdough). The shape of the egg in my sandwich was like a square block and unexpected, but it still tasted good. The egg, cheese, pickled peppers, and chili mayo paired nicely together with the milk bun. My friend enjoyed her food as well. I would come back and try some other menu items and dinner. read more

Arrived here with my husband for Sunday brunch at 9ish as a walk in and we were seated right away. They have a coffee bar towards the back in addition to their brunch menu. There are both inside and outside seating available. Parking is available in the back or on the street. The service overall wasn't too bad. The host was very friendly and quickly showed us to our table. However, we did wait about 15-20 minutes before our food order was taken. The strawberry matcha was great but on the creamier/sweeter side. My husband ordered the Gran Torino and it was delicious. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the MAEVA "Bec" sandwich and it was the perfect amount for me. My husband ordered the French toast with a side of bacon and he too loved it. We will definitely be back to try their other menu items. It's such a cute spot for a brunch with the girlies too. read more

Visited Maeva while in Gilbert. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly, which made for a pleasant start. That said, the experience had a few issues. Getting seated was a bit awkward -- there are two entrances, and the one closest to the main parking garage is not the hostess entrance, which isn't very clear. We sat on the patio, and it was quite warm with only fans running; the misters didn't get turned on until after the lunch crowd had left, which felt a bit late. Tried a breakfast plate -- and this is where things really fell short. The portions were extremely small for the price. Two slices of bacon, barely half a slice of bread, and what looked like about one and a half scrambled eggs for $17 -- that's tough to justify. This is lovely new restaurant in downtown Gilbert. I feel like downtown Gilbert needed a more upscale restaurant, and this fits the bill. I really like the decor, specifically all of the art on the walls. I asked if it was all from one artist because you could definitely see the similarities in the paintings. All of the art is from one artist - - I believe they said it was the wife of the owner. There are great lighting fixtures, and if you know me I'm a sucker for lighting fixtures. There are tables and a bar inside, and a really nice patio with tables and a lounge area with a sofa and chairs outside. All of the staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed hearing about the art from them - - they were very knowledgeable. We started with a couple of cocktails - an espresso martini and my favorite, and amaretto sour. We also ordered the phyllo grissini. I expected the grissini to be long sticks, but was surprised it was little bite-sized pieces. It was so delicious - very crispy and kind of sweet with a drizzle of honey maybe? Whatever it was, it was yummy. For our entree we chose the whole branzino for two with chive and caviar beurre blanc. Lord love a duck, it was so good! I loved that it was just the right size portion, especially when so many places give you too much food. It's was served with hot sourdough bread When we were done, the chef also sent out a mignardise of little raspberry gelee bites. Wow--a bite size explosion of raspberry flavor. Love, love, love! We loved our food. The only thing I could wish for as to have an option to order a side like charred broccolini or asparagus. We didn't see any sides on the menu, but would have liked to have had the option. I'm a sucker for charred broccolini so there's that. I've been to Maeva twice now, the first time was just to get a breakfast pastry to go. It was the lemon curd bun and it was very good! Beautiful looking and perfectly made. First impression is the space is very beautiful! I like that they kept the large patio. The second time I came here was for a sit down breakfast. I got a hot chai latte, and it was delicious. I also got the avocado toast, and let me tell you, the best avocado toast I've ever had. From the bread, to the eggs, to the thinly shaved veggies on top, it was absolutely perfect. Very light and bright, yet creamy with the smashed avocado and the eggs were perfect. My mom got the French toast and she liked it. We also split a cookie and it was good, not my favorite cookie ever but pretty good. The staff was very friendly too. I will definitely be back to try more! read more

My friend Debi and I loved our lunch here last week! Taking the location of the now defunct Gypsy Coffee space, is this new chic Euro influenced, upscale cafe. Elegantly decorated with artwork by Bradley Wood this classy restaurant offers pretty tables with crisp white tablecloths inside and on the patio. There is an impressive selection of beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic. In fact it took a majority of the day's menu. While reading the menu, I didn't see any items that jumped off the pages at me but took a chance on the Gilbert Grains $15. I picked a winner! My entree was so colorful with the pistachio chili chips and six minute egg on top! I really adored the flavors of the seasoned prepared root vegetables and cherry tomatoes layered underneath. The service was polite and friendly. The portions were small/European sized but executed well. Even as an espresso lover, I found the iced Lord Bergamot tea $5.50 sensational tasting. While exploring the restaurant, a chess and candle sets caught my eye that were thoughtfully placed in a niche in the hallway. Decoration details such as these elevated the ambiance to me. Super cute vibe on the patio for brunch! The food is really good. I highly recommend the BEC and any of their matcha (although very sweet and creamy)! Their portions are definitely small though for the pricing so for 2 people I may reccomend 3-4 items or adding on some sides. I've had two very different experiences here, so this is a mixed but hopeful review. A friend went during their soft opening and said the coffee was great, but the workflow was a mess and the front of house seemed flustered. My first visit was on New Year's Eve, a Wednesday, and it was honestly awesome. We walked in, realized we could order at the coffee bar, and got two caramel hot lattes, the green chili chorizo scone, the Maeva BEC sandwich, and the smoked salmon danish. Everything was delicious. The coffee was incredible, the food was solid, and we left super satisfied and excited to come back. Fast forward to the following Sunday. My mom and I came with my 2 children just hoping for a quick latte and breakfast sandwich. When we walked in, there were hostesses and we were told it was a 30 minute wait. I asked if we could just order at the coffee bar and they said yes. We ordered three hot lattes and some pastries. Then I asked about getting a breakfast sandwich and was told we had to be seated to order from the menu. That part was confusing and I wish the hostess had explained that upfront. Apparently weekdays and weekends run totally differently, with brunch service on weekends requiring table seating for main menu items. That info would have been really helpful to know before waiting around with two small kids. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and pastries, and when they came out, one of the drinks was iced instead of hot. They offered a refund, which I appreciated, but we didn't have time to wait for a remake because the kids were over it. Overall, the food and coffee are genuinely great. The vibe is nice. But the communication and workflow on busy weekends still need some work. A little more transparency about how ordering works would go a long way, especially for parents trying to make a quick stop. Wow. The moment I walked into this place, my jaw literally dropped. I was completely in awe of how stunning it was inside and out. The deep green walls paired with black accents, touches of gold and terracotta, and all the beautiful artwork and decor make the entire space feel luxurious and thoughtfully designed. I came pretty early, and at that time only the coffee bar and pastries were available. After 9am, you can order breakfast, and they also have a full bar, so it's a great option for lunch, dinner, or drinks as well. I'm already excited to come back and try more of their menu!! This is truly such a cute spot in Gilbert for almost any occasion: date night, a brunch or evening out with girlfriends, or even renting out part of the venue for a small event. Sat in a perfect spot in the shade. They played Faye Webster, Clairo, men I trust and the Marias! Tastefully modern with a really nice smell too. The cloud coffee was refreshing and flavorful without covering the taste of the espresso. We also got the strawberry matcha with cream cheese topping replacing the strawberry foam. the smoked salmon danish has me "wow " lovely dish. The danish was implacable. Perfectly buttered. Everything paired very nicely. And the lemon zest to tie it off I'd kiss the chef‍ we got the ravioli, it was delish, really enjoyed the sauce, paired with a side of sourdough. Music was extremely loud and didn't quite fit the setting, but they turned it down when we asked them to. That being said, the food was extremely overpriced in my opinion for the taste and amount received. The drinks we had wouldn't rank in my top 10 and the food was small portioned and tasted pretty standard, even with the unique names and flavors. If you're looking for impressive ambiance and nice service, this is just the place, but if you want delicious food for a better price, I personally would head elsewhere. read more

I really wanted to love this place but I didn't ... I would like to check it out for dinner though! I will say I did come in with exceptionally high expectations which is probably why I left a little disappointed. Starting off with the good, the service was AMAZING our server explained everything thoroughly, gave us recs, and even shared a recipe for a very interesting drink I had (cloud coffee) & I especially loved the ambiance and vibe!! Next up, the things I didn't love... the food & pastries. It's not that it wasn't good, it was! but for the price and hype I expected a WOW. I tried their BEC. I didn't feel that their milk bread was as light/airy and fresh as I thought it would be. Same with their pastries, we tried their chocolate hazelnut roll and banana choc espresso loaf. We visited for brunch on a recent Saturday with a large group including toddlers. We sat outside, they have a nice patio area and the service was good, attentive and helpful. We tried a few dishes, the salmon danish was done well, good flavors and the danish was very flaky. Their albacore was a bit too fishy for me, but my 15 month old loved it so child approved? Their salads were fine. Overall, the food was just fine I don't think I would come back for brunch maybe dinner. read more

I really did enjoy my dinner at Maeva. Staff was incredibly kind and hospitable from the moment I made a reservation to the time we walked in. The restaurant in itself is absolutely beautiful and aesthetically pleasing with stunning artwork and carefully curated decorations. The food is really good and the cocktails are even better. We found the cocktails incredibly well priced at $15-$18 for what you get. As much as I did enjoy the food two appetizers, two entrees and cocktails ran us over $200 for very small portions. The ravioli and the shrimp scampi are however delicious and worth every penny! They do have an option for get the $90/person tasting menu (cocktails not included) but we appreciated the option to also order a la carte. Sadly even though my dinner was delicious I did leave here a bit hungry. read more

Service was strange, the hostess was a bit rude and took awhile to come back to the front. She told us they are only serving coffee and pastries at this time. So I would not recommend this place. We got a green chile cheddar scone to split and the Maeva BEC and the Madame Maeva both were incredible! My husband and I came here for a dinner date night on a Saturday. It was $90 per person with options to upgrade to higher priced food items. Our bill with tip came out to about $295. With it being pricier I am going to be a little more harsh with my review. To start the restaurant is adorable inside. The vibes are perfect for a dressed up date night. 10/10 The food the good. I had lots of good bites, the branzino was delicious (extra $20 but it's a lot more food than the other options) and the tuna was the best I've had in a while. Dinner is slow but it's purposeful because they bring each course out individually and spaced out, we were here for 2 hours and we had to cut it short to get to a show. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time. The Diet Coke is so overpriced! $7 for a mini glass bottle - my husband and I had a good laugh at that! Overall the food was delicious but I do feel it's a tad overpriced. I will be back but unfortunately not often. read more

I've left reviews for the breakfast(fantastic by the way), but I finally had the chance to come here for dinner. First, the interior decor and the overall vibes made for a very relaxing date night, but most importantly holy wow was the food delicious. We did the Prix-Fixe Dinner. Every course was very tasty and had an array of flavors. The stand outs to me were the very unique starters( each bite was a whole different experience) and the coffee rubbed pork collar. The pork was so good, the texture was perfect and I was so sad when it was gone. I also want to mention that the desserts were really good too, a lot of places consider dessert an after thought and don't put too much effort into it, but both the study of a bee, and the chocolate mousse were amazing. We could tell they put a lot of effort into them. I should also mention the cocktails were really good, my favorite was the carajillo. Overall, it was an excellent date night. I also want to thank the wait staff for being for being so attentive, and Chef Kenny for checking in on us and even bringing us a sample of the ravioli. Terrible service to start. Food was just okay but very overpriced for portion and quality. I got the Madame Maeva sandwich and it was okay. Felt like something was missing, flavor wise. The plate literally had 3 potato wedges as the side. The space and patio are gorgeous but unfortunately I will not be back. My friend and I had asked to be moved into the shade and we were told that the chef wouldn't allow them to seat a table of 2 at a 4 top. While my friend and I were eating, 2 girls asked the same question and got moved to a 4 top. After the meal was done, they cleared the table and we had to hunt down our server after 15 minutes just to ask for the check. read more

Lunch at Maeva was wonderful! We had great service by the staff. The New Orleans sandwich was delicious. Perfect balance, I'll definitely order it with more spice/peppers since I love my sandwiches spicy! For the regular customer it would be perfect. The inside is really cozy but classic and elegant. If you can't provide changing tables in YOUR establishment's restrooms then you do NOT dare comment on how a mom of a 4 MONTH OLD changes her child's diaper. The baby was on a pad and discreetly had done so between her friends. A 2 second diaper change. This place should be ashamed of themselves. To further go on and tell this mom to completely remove herself from the restaurant to change her child's diaper in the car is insane and inappropriate. Kenny, you're disgusting. Maeva is the highest level of food in the SE Valley area. I don't think there's a close second. Every dish we've had there has been outstanding. The crudo, the pork collar, the ravioli, the salmon, the chicken for two, etc. You're going to pay for it. And yet, Gilbertians pay these prices at Bourbon and Bones and Buck & Rider all the time. If you're going to pay at this level and want something beyond steak or basic shellfish or grilled/sauteed fish, this should be your go to. The decor is beautiful and hip. It's tasteful in a way that goes beyond that trite speakeasy vibe that we've now seen several times over at places like the White Rabbit, the Ostrich, the Blue Heron, Henry's, Society Swan, etc. I like that style, don't get me wrong. But with Society Swan, I feel like we're on the 5th iteration of it even if they're leaning more "Parisian / NY". This place has serious taste and style. Royal Emerald Green walls with Cinnamon velvet drapes. Really cool paintings of city life that feel both classic and contemporary at once. Brass framing for the artwork and gold support for the modern glass light fixtures. The service is outstanding in a way that we simply don't get in these parts. You will be greeted quickly. You will be asked if your food is okay within a minute or two. Thank god as I don't see this anywhere else and it drives me nuts. I hope it has a place longterm in Gilbert, especially once Heritage Park is complete. We have a serious chef in town. read more

We were also seated in a so-called "secret room" that only had four tables, but it offered no privacy at all -- you could clearly hear everyone else's conversations, which made it uncomfortable. The avocado toast was okay, but nothing special and not enough to make up for the overall experience. We originally planned to order the branzino, but the team let us know it wasn't available, the morning shipment didn't meet the chef's standards. Most places would just suggest a different dish and move on, but Maeva didn't settle for "good enough." Instead, the chef personally came out and crafted a series of unique, creative dishes just for us. Throughout the night, we were surprised with smaller plates that showcased real skill, attention, and passion. Every single dish was exceptional and had distinct flavors, beautiful execution, nothing was cookie-cutter. The service matched the food. The chef, server, and bartender were all incredibly attentive without being overbearing. We felt taken care of the entire evening, and the experience felt intentional from start to finish. A wonderful dining experience in the Heritage District of Gilbert. An incredible date night to be sure. Dinner was absolutely delicious. Every course. Officially 4 courses with a starter to share, a first, the second course, and then dessert. Kenny and his crew offered a pre-fix menu. Our starter included 5 different 1 bite delights. For a first course I had the Albacore Crudo, my wife had charred artichokes. Then Kenny brought us a small taste of his Salmon. I said there were 4 courses, but there was more. Steak Au Poivre and Pork Ravioli. All so good! Dessert was supposed to be next but nope! A lovely Sorbet made with absolutely the freshest lemon. For dessert I had what they call a Study of the bee and my wife had the chocolate mousse, which surprisingly had gelato right in the center of it. This is a new restaurant in Downtown Gilbert. Classy, upscale vibe, definitely an elevated experience. We selected from the ala carte menu, but will go back to try the tasting menu option and Sunday's brunch menu. The service was amazing, the chef greeted our table twice and brought us a tasty pasta sampler that was delicious and melted in my mouth. We ordered the salmon crips and branzino for two. Both utterly delicious. I wish we would have ordered dessert! The cost was expensive for an average meal out, but we will be back as the value of the service and meal was absolutely worth it. 5 stars read more
