BEC sandwich- substituted bacon for avocado
    Tracy F.

First of all, the decor is beautiful in this restaurant! Huge fan of the ambiance. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing!! I started with an iced pumpkin spice latte- which was delicious. The BEC sandwich was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! I substituted bacon for avocado which was so good. Definitely will be back for brunch. And want to try dinner!

Well now my YELPies... let's sit down and talk about this here MAEVA! When I tell you MAEVA is a quaint little star of a restaurant in downtown Gilbert... YELPies, classy chic is beyond words and the food is the BEEs Knees! The customer service was EVERYTHING, yall YELPies know how I love some YELPin good customer service and a smile. MAEVA even smiled at me and winked from her beautiful portrait on the wall. Anywho chyle.. my son had the Chicken Katsu Sando and I dove into the Early Rise. When I say.. FRESH, it's FRESH and the presentation makes you want to stare at the beauty before you even touch it.. Ha! We do that anyway huh, My YELPies . We started off with a White Chocolate Lavender Latte and a Dark Chocolate Raspberry Iced coffee. Now hear me My YELPies.. we ended this amazing brunch with an Orange Olive Oil Cake.. when I tell you I told my son this is something that will make you slap yo'... well, NO don't do that . The cake is sooo smooth and moist and full of flavor you have to sit back and YELP for your LYFE, add the whipped yogurt to the already orgasmic flavor.. it makes you see in technicolor ! Our brunch was so good, I had a chat with KaraD (Manager/Owner), she is a delightful stylish woman and is welcoming at the first smile. Check out her glasses when you patronize the establishment, girlfriend is SHARP! My YELPies.. Kara invited me back to experience their dinner menu, she says the Chef Select Table is a YELPin good meal. MAEVA has an outside patio and a full bar and select wines in the cooler! Well, stay tuned for that review My YELPies because tonight is my birthday and MAEVA and her chefs are going to see me! Anywho MY YELPies.. please go give MAEVA some YELPin good love and try EVERYTHING on the menu for Brunch, Lunch and I guarantee you will go back for dinner! YELP YA LATTAH!

Saw this place on Insta and I am instantly in love with their menu! Cloud, coffee was magnificent with coconut, fluff, ice, and coffee mixed together. I only wish it was bigger. I have never met a croissant that I actually liked and today changes everything. Highly recommend the pastries here. Yes, my friend ordered the croissant with apricot marmalade and butter! I would describe the croissant As Divine-I know the place down the street is wrapped around the building, but this is definitely worth a try people. Five star service the ladies were excellent at explaining things because I didn't have any idea, walking in the wonderfulness it contained. Ambience is cool-paintings with plenty of outside seating. Meet a friend enjoy a café.

Came here for the first time a couple months ago space looking for a place to study. I ended up getting a drink and getting some food, I thought my drink was well-made, but the food was nothing special. I was also a little put off when I was sitting at the table and was asked to move by the staff so they could sit more people but then nobody ended up sitting in the place I was at

Arrived here with my husband for Sunday brunch at 9ish as a walk in and we were seated right away. They have a coffee bar towards the back in addition to their brunch menu. There are both inside and outside seating available. Parking is available in the back or on the street. The service overall wasn't too bad. The host was very friendly and quickly showed us to our table. However, we did wait about 15-20 minutes before our food order was taken. The strawberry matcha was great but on the creamier/sweeter side. My husband ordered the Gran Torino and it was delicious. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the MAEVA "Bec" sandwich and it was the perfect amount for me. My husband ordered the French toast with a side of bacon and he too loved it. We will definitely be back to try their other menu items. It's such a cute spot for a brunch with the girlies too.

Visited Maeva while in Gilbert. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly, which made for a pleasant start. That said, the experience had a few issues. Getting seated was a bit awkward -- there are two entrances, and the one closest to the main parking garage is not the hostess entrance, which isn't very clear. We sat on the patio, and it was quite warm with only fans running; the misters didn't get turned on until after the lunch crowd had left, which felt a bit late. Tried a breakfast plate -- and this is where things really fell short. The portions were extremely small for the price. Two slices of bacon, barely half a slice of bread, and what looked like about one and a half scrambled eggs for $17 -- that's tough to justify. Overall, friendly service but the value just isn't there -- a one-and-done for me. Saluti.

This is lovely new restaurant in downtown Gilbert. I feel like downtown Gilbert needed a more upscale restaurant, and this fits the bill. I really like the decor, specifically all of the art on the walls. I asked if it was all from one artist because you could definitely see the similarities in the paintings. All of the art is from one artist - - I believe they said it was the wife of the owner. There are great lighting fixtures, and if you know me I'm a sucker for lighting fixtures. There are tables and a bar inside, and a really nice patio with tables and a lounge area with a sofa and chairs outside. All of the staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed hearing about the art from them - - they were very knowledgeable. We started with a couple of cocktails - an espresso martini and my favorite, and amaretto sour. We also ordered the phyllo grissini. I expected the grissini to be long sticks, but was surprised it was little bite-sized pieces. It was so delicious - very crispy and kind of sweet with a drizzle of honey maybe? Whatever it was, it was yummy. For our entree we chose the whole branzino for two with chive and caviar beurre blanc. Lord love a duck, it was so good! I loved that it was just the right size portion, especially when so many places give you too much food. It's was served with hot sourdough bread When we were done, the chef also sent out a mignardise of little raspberry gelee bites. Wow--a bite size explosion of raspberry flavor. Love, love, love! We loved our food. The only thing I could wish for as to have an option to order a side like charred broccolini or asparagus. We didn't see any sides on the menu, but would have liked to have had the option. I'm a sucker for charred broccolini so there's that. I highly recommend Maeva for a date night, or even better, a first date!

    Cloud coffee and cortado

Excellent service and an interesting menu! The cloud coffee is a must. We had the ravioli (slightly too al dente, but held up well against the depth of the sauce) and baked French toast (crisp yet delicate crust, served with butter melting tantalizingly off the top).

My friend Debi and I loved our lunch here last week! Taking the location of the now defunct Gypsy Coffee space, is this new chic Euro influenced, upscale cafe. Elegantly decorated with artwork by Bradley Wood this classy restaurant offers pretty tables with crisp white tablecloths inside and on the patio. There is an impressive selection of beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic. In fact it took a majority of the day's menu. While reading the menu, I didn't see any items that jumped off the pages at me but took a chance on the Gilbert Grains $15. I picked a winner! My entree was so colorful with the pistachio chili chips and six minute egg on top! I really adored the flavors of the seasoned prepared root vegetables and cherry tomatoes layered underneath. The service was polite and friendly. The portions were small/European sized but executed well. Even as an espresso lover, I found the iced Lord Bergamot tea $5.50 sensational tasting. While exploring the restaurant, a chess and candle sets caught my eye that were thoughtfully placed in a niche in the hallway. Decoration details such as these elevated the ambiance to me. Debi declared that this is her new favorite place to go!

    Lemon curd bun

I've been to Maeva twice now, the first time was just to get a breakfast pastry to go. It was the lemon curd bun and it was very good! Beautiful looking and perfectly made. First impression is the space is very beautiful! I like that they kept the large patio. The second time I came here was for a sit down breakfast. I got a hot chai latte, and it was delicious. I also got the avocado toast, and let me tell you, the best avocado toast I've ever had. From the bread, to the eggs, to the thinly shaved veggies on top, it was absolutely perfect. Very light and bright, yet creamy with the smashed avocado and the eggs were perfect. My mom got the French toast and she liked it. We also split a cookie and it was good, not my favorite cookie ever but pretty good. The staff was very friendly too. I will definitely be back to try more!

Service excellent place was busy and the food was phenomenal. We had a tea party like gathering of friends of mine and we had lovely conversation. I would return again.

    Maeva "BEC" sandwich
    Meg M.

I've had two very different experiences here, so this is a mixed but hopeful review. A friend went during their soft opening and said the coffee was great, but the workflow was a mess and the front of house seemed flustered. My first visit was on New Year's Eve, a Wednesday, and it was honestly awesome. We walked in, realized we could order at the coffee bar, and got two caramel hot lattes, the green chili chorizo scone, the Maeva BEC sandwich, and the smoked salmon danish. Everything was delicious. The coffee was incredible, the food was solid, and we left super satisfied and excited to come back. Fast forward to the following Sunday. My mom and I came with my 2 children just hoping for a quick latte and breakfast sandwich. When we walked in, there were hostesses and we were told it was a 30 minute wait. I asked if we could just order at the coffee bar and they said yes. We ordered three hot lattes and some pastries. Then I asked about getting a breakfast sandwich and was told we had to be seated to order from the menu. That part was confusing and I wish the hostess had explained that upfront. Apparently weekdays and weekends run totally differently, with brunch service on weekends requiring table seating for main menu items. That info would have been really helpful to know before waiting around with two small kids. It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and pastries, and when they came out, one of the drinks was iced instead of hot. They offered a refund, which I appreciated, but we didn't have time to wait for a remake because the kids were over it. Overall, the food and coffee are genuinely great. The vibe is nice. But the communication and workflow on busy weekends still need some work. A little more transparency about how ordering works would go a long way, especially for parents trying to make a quick stop. I'll definitely come back, just probably on a weekday when things seem to run smoother.

If you establish a presence here, they will take care of you. Consistency is another major selling point. Go here 10 times, and your food is going to be on point about 9.5 of those times. Those are pretty good odds. They have just recently started a soft launch of their fall/winter menu, which means they are experimenting with a few new dishes while bringing back some old favorites. One of those returning favorites is the crispy cauliflower. Last time around, it was fantastic. This time, while still tasty, it had apparently filed a formal complaint against the word **"crispy"** because there was very little evidence to support the claim. Even the bartender agreed with me that it was somewhat misrepresented. **Pro tip:** Get the sauce on the side. It will help preserve what level of crisp that is intended for this dish. Now, let us move on to the **star of the evening.** The new chicken parmigiana! **Holy mother of God. Butter my butt and call me a biscuit.** This may genuinely be one of the most beautiful, perfectly textured, and downright delicious chicken parmigianas I have ever had. The chicken was crisped to absolute perfection, and the way they layered the marinara on top was brilliant. Rather than drowning the chicken in a traditional, liquidy sauce, they used more of a bruschetta-style topping, which gave it texture while somehow allowing the breading to remain gloriously crispy. **Hands down, one of the best chicken parmigianas I have ever had.** Now we just need to pray to whatever culinary deity is responsible for consistency that they can replicate this thing every time, because this one was *ridiculously* good. One final recommendation: **split the dish.** Unless you are the kind of person who considers a family-size portion a light snack, there is plenty of food here for two.

But, my wife had fries that I could steal and I appreciate having a salad option. The little side salad had a nice bitterness complemented by the slight sourness of the dressing. The meat was flavorful and sliced perfectly while the bread was toasty enough to stay together long enough to hold in all that juiciness. Our server was attentive and friendly and I'll happily go back to try some menu staples ... unless the next special demands my attention like that Reuben did.

Overall it was a great visit, minus the twitching fly that was on our table after we were seated. We didn't know if it was half dead or what, but my friend just swiped it across the table until it fell off. I'm not sure they have any control over flies coming into the restaurant as people enter and exit, but it was off putting to have to shoo them away while you're having a meal and trying to converse.
