We had reservations for 6:45 and arrived at 6:45. We were taken to the very last table in front of the restrooms. Yes, it was busy but I made sure we had reservations because it was our 42 wedding anniversary. My husband and I love Japanese food. We were very excited to try your restaurant. Our waitress seemed extremely busy and barely said hello. We ordered our drinks and they were great. Now to the food...Fried calamari was chewy and hard to eat. The Sashimi and sushi were fantastic, the salmon was very delicious. The tuna poke bowl was in my husbands words, terrible. He did not even eat it. The gyosa was very, very good. The only person to ask us how our meal was, was the busboy as we were on the way out. Where was Management? My family of three visited RA Sushi between lunch and dinner time. Service? Amazing. Food? Delicious! Ambiance? Quiet, inviting, welcoming. Ordered: Garlic edamame - delicious, the sauce is garlicky with a little heat - a repeat! Gyoza - soft but crunchy, flavorful and juicy inside - I've had dozens of orders of gyoza - the best we've ever had, you won't regret it Chashu pork ramen - the best chashu pork I've ever had (hubby agreed & even the kiddo enjoyed), the ramen noodles were authentic ramen noodles, and the broth had depth of flavor - my kiddo also enjoyed the broth as she kept requesting bites Adult's only roll - my husband, who really enjoys sushi said it was one of the best (if not, the best) sushi rolls he's ever had - thank you to the manager for recommending he dip a piece in the edamame garlic sauce (he loved it and almost ordered a 2nd roll) Spicy tuna crispy rice - rice crispy on the outside but soft on the outside, jalapeños fresh, spicy tuna flavor was perfect - our kid enjoyed this roll as well (her eyes lit up after the first bite) Yellowtail crispy rice - just as yummy as the spicy tuna California roll - can't go wrong for a kiddo - she said it was a really good roll Moorea was our server for our first visit. Very pleasant person . She took the time to explain menu options, interact with our 7 year old, and anticipate needs. She had a great balance of interaction without being overbearing. We went to RA with a group of seven, kids included, and had such an amazing experience! The service was absolutely impeccable. Taven took such great care of us and had incredible attention to detail from start to finish. The manager even came over and brought the kids cheater chopsticks and helped them put them together. It made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. The food was delicious and incredibly fresh. We tried a mix of happy hour and regular menu items, including the chicken sandwiches, burgers, pineapple cheese wontons, crispy yellowtail rice, chicken noodles, edamame, and of course, sushi. Our absolute favorite roll was the Chili Ponzu Yellowtail. We loved it so much that we ordered two! Most of all, we felt genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. I was extra impressed that I didn't catch any flak over ordering an iced tea even though I was sitting at the bar. Food was quick and tasty; has a couple rolls and nigiri. This was my first time eating at RA Sushi. We visited RA Sushi around 7PM on a Tuesday and had a $50 birthday reward from my husband's birthday. The restaurant was nearly empty, so we were seated, served, and finished in under an hour. The red decor creates a nice atmosphere, though it feels more like an adult-focused spot than a family-friendly venue so I personally would not bring kids. My husband really enjoyed his sushi, particularly the Shrimp Tempura and California rolls. However, he noticed the prices have increased since he last ordered sushi and the specialty rolls didn't feel worth the extra cost. In the future, he'd opt for two traditional rolls (like shrimp or salmon) for just a dollar more, which offers twice the pieces even if they are slightly smaller. My husband would give this meal a 3.5 star. My experience with the entrees was less ideal. Since they were out of almost all steak options, I ordered the Chicken Noodles. Unfortunately, the dish was not great. It lacked any teriyaki flavor and mostly tasted like a faint soy sauce. It was heavily loaded with large, thick slices of green onions (you may want to ask for light or finely diced onions if you aren't a big fan) and had very little chicken or mushrooms. It ended up feeling like a bowl of noodles and raw onions. I wouldn't order this dish again. The salad that came with the meal tasted like a citrus dressing and I was not a fan of it or the soup. I would give this meal a one star. Lastly, our server brought the bill and said, "cash tips are appreciated." While most people should know cash is always great, having a server say that directly felt a bit awkward. The food experience overall wasn't great and I was thankful my husband had a birthday reward or I would have felt even more disappointed as I did not find our meal worth a $70 meal. read more

Stopped in here the other night for the first time in like 20 years. I have to say that I was very disappointed. The only reason I'm even giving 3 stars is because our server was phenomenal. Basically, the prices for the very ridiculously limited amount of rolls they have to offer were not great, the rolls were ok at best, and the drinks were weak. We went on Sunday night during the memorial weekend. The restaurant is clean and there's lots of parking. There's seats inside and outside. Also, there's a bar location. Our waiter Bryan did an awesome job serving our big party of 6. Bryan provides us with awesome customer services. Because it was the memorial weekend they had a special for military and veteran. That's plus for the veteran. I ordered the starter the scallops dynamite and I got the yakisoba for free because of the special. Thank you for offering a great promo. RA always provides a decent experience, but nothing I would call exceptional. Our waitress, however, was genuinely one of the kindest servers I've ever had. She was frequently checking in, and took the time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. The service here really stood out for going above and beyond. The food itself was solid, but not what I'd consider great, especially given the prices compared to other sushi spots I personally prefer. The caveat to this is that the portion sizes are pretty reasonable. read more

This post is just a heads-up for other yelpers, it isn't a complaint. Wife and I go to RA about 5-6 times a year, normally for lunch so we can avoid driving at night. We normally order the same thing being creatures of habit. - wife orders the big bento with chicken katsu, and I normally order the sashimi assortment. Today my wife wanted a bigger portion of chicken katsu so she ordered the dinner entree of chicken katsu. We find out that the dinner entree of chicken katsu doesn't come with rice. WTH!?!? What Japanese restaurant doesn't have rice accompany their chicken katsu entree? Crazy! On the other hand, service was great and food was good too. read more

I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants, but RA is definitely one of my favorites. Everything is made to order, so you're always getting it fresh. If you go, you have to try the RAckin' Roll it's super crunchy, flavorful, and easily one of the best things on the menu. I also tried some of my mom's ramen, which didn't impress me. (not flavorful) The hibachi plates are good but not worth $45 for just rice and meat. The service was fine -- nothing to complain about, but nothing that really stood out either. They have great happy hour deals so I'd definitely recommend going then to sample a few different rolls or drinks. read more

The menu is extensive and offers items ranging from hibachi to sushi and more. I ordered a HH California roll, chashu ramen, and we split the chili ponzu yellowtail roll. The yellowtail roll was definitely my favorite although I did feel like it could use a bit more yellowtail on top. The California roll was fine and the ramen was better than I was expecting. While it wasn't the best I've ever had, the noodles and egg were great and the pork and broth were decent. I usually avoid RA Sushi because it's on the more expensive side for average sushi. The area where I was seated wasn't super clean with trash under the table. However, service was very good and I did enjoy my food, it was just on the pricier side for the quality. We used to go here relatively often, but we have not been going as frequently recently since I felt the food has decreased in quality. Still a solid choice for sushi and food but it can be inconsistent. The service was alright although they did apparently put in the steak fries order wrong and we had a wait a little longer for that but the owner was gracious and apologized for the delay. The waiter didn't own up to that mistake tho and said they were just busy which I didn't necessarily find appealing. Overall would still say a decent sushi place with good ambiance. read more

3 stars because they celebrate Veterans! The food took over an hour so definitely don't arrive super hungry. The person who was assigned to our table was great despite the wait. She apologized several times and we knew this was absolutely not her fault and tipped her the largest amount possible on the card reader device since she had an amazing attitude despite dealing with many frustrated tables. The food is subpar at best. The meal below is the filet mignon and shrimp which comes to about 56$ with tax. I would probably have paid 10$ max due to the quality and quantity of meat. Stopped by here to enjoy lunch and service by Bartender Ebonee! Exceptional! I ordered the filet mignon (rare) and lobster entree for lunch. Such a fun choice. Loved getting to try the onion soup, which she went out of her way to get me! The Lobster was perfectly prepared and the veggies were great. The steak was a little overdone and the sauce is a little bit thicker than I normally like. I'll probably will stick to Sushi next time, but it was so fun to try this. The wagu looked so good! There are select sushi rolls here that are quite tasty but generally, the food is a little bit overpriced. Happy hour on the other hand is a much better deal, but there are quite a few stipulations that come with their happy hour. Be sure to sign up their emails they give good deals on your birthday and your half birthday. Service was pretty quick. Friendly service, YES, but ridiculously slow -- we heard apologies for how long things were taking at multiple tables, including ours. The table next to us ordered a dragonfruit mock-tail & were greatly disappointed to be told they were out of stock -- they seemed to be out of several items that evening. The menu had changed since I'd last been there & my man had a very difficult time finding anything that didn't have jalapeño, spicy or fake crab . I ordered my faves. Hamachi Nigiri -- it was SUPER! BUT the Vegas... although it looked good, it was muuush on the inside. Anyway, we were bummed at the whole experience other than the fun decor & the friendly service. This evening was graduation night, and our grad had his heart set on sushi. His ceremony ran over causing us to miss our original dinner reservation, so we figured we would give RA a try. We arrived late (near closing time) with a party of 10 to find the restaurant absolutely slammed with other grads. Given the time and how busy they were, they could have turned us away, but instead the manager, Walter, stepped in personally and took care of us. Walter provided phenomenal service despite how busy the restaurant was, and made sure our graduate had a memorable night. As good as the food was (and it truly did come out perfect), the customer service is actually what stood out the most. Walter was so courteous, helpful, and accommodating, we really could not have had a better experience.
