Dining area that's always clean!

Yes, we are regulars and keep coming back Fresh food, always! Great portions! And swift service. This place is always clean and pristine. We've ordered catering multiple times and they deliver with ALL the smiles. Great restaurant guaranteed for lunch, dinner, corporate meals.

Ramen with added on chicken
Dawn M.

Arrived to this restaurant because it was rated 4.5 stars however super disappointed in the food. On the other hand, service was great! I got the ramen with added on chicken. Note, if you just get the regular ramen it just comes with noodles, cabbage, green onions, carrots and broth. After the first bite, the noodles tasted like they were right from the packaged ramen you get from the store. Broth was ok. My main disappointment was the over charred chicken! I hate wasting food, I continued to eat at the over charred areas of the chicken. For an extra $2-3 I wouldn't get the chicken added again. The red dragon roll was probably my favorite roll. The spicy tuna was ok. Restaurant was clean and our food came out fast. I don't think I'll come back again unfortunately.

Grill N Chop has hearty bowls that are perfect for lunch. Plus service is speedy despite the lunch rush. The parking lot has plenty of space and I've never seen it full. Although they do pick up, I found their dine-in experience to be equally as fast. Enter from the left door and the food should be completed within 10 minutes. Besides their selection of rice bowls, sushi and salads, there were Asian canned beverages, churros, and mochi. =ORDERED= *Spicy Tuna Bowl: although I want to try their other bowls, this remained my go to. The avocado slices were always fresh and beautifully cut. Rice cooked well, not too mushy or hard. The spicy tuna had a melt in the mouth quality with subtle spice. The lemon slices served as a palate cleanser as opposed the traditional ginger. *Croquette: satisfying crunchy exterior with a creamy, mashed potato filling. The panko batter wasn't overwhelming and served more as a texture element than flavor. Excellent appetizer although it was on the pricier side. *Caramel Churro: not too greasy and the filling resembled dulce de leche rather than the classic American caramel. Fun dessert option although the portion was on the smaller side. Service has always been stellar and food presentation and packaging remained consistent throughout my multitude of visits. Grill N Chop is great choice for a clean tasting yet tasty lunch option for a reasonable price.

Ramen & Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box

We came here for lunch, and for fast food, it exceeded our expectations! The ramen noodles were cooked a perfect al dente with roasted vegetables in the broth. However, I was surprised that the broth was spicy since it wasn't indicated on the menu. There should be an option for plain broth vs spicy. I picked the chicken bento which came with California rolls, veggies and shrimp tempura which was pretty satiating! The breading on the tempura was a little thicker than what I'm used to. The staff was very friendly and they still allowed us to dine in even though they close for a short break after 2PM. I would love to come back when I'm in the area!

I was in the area this past weekend and looking for something delish. Grill and Chop showed up in the high fours and certainly earned those stars. The dining area was clean, the food was tasty, fresh and well priced. We shared a build your own bento, an appetizer and drink for about $20. On the menu they have sushi rolls, appetizers and rice bowls. The rice, tempura, katsu chicken and sushi were all made fresh and completely delicious. I'd definitely suggest coming for lunch or dinner if you're in the area. Dine in or take away at this fast casual Japanese spot, you won't regret it.

When I walked in, I was promptly directed to where I should go so I could place a takeout order. The genuine courtesy of the staff here was just what I needed after a long day. I ordered a couple options and requested for the toppings to be separated so my picky eater could pick out what she didn't like. The food was out promptly and packaged with such care. Once I got it back to my daughter's hospital room, we were able to feast on the best meal we had all day. Let me start with a little tid bit about Downtown Gilbert. There is nothing really special about it…read moreoutside of the vibe is right. Always a lot of people there so it makes you want to be there. Restaurant wise they have really basic offerings. Places you can find in Mesa, and Tempe, and Scottsdale. Now.... What truly makes Downtown Gilbert special are the small shops that are hidden away from the "main strip". One of those places is Clever Koi. Hidden in the Parking lot space behind Shaq's Chicken spot is a small strip of shops. A book store, smoothie place, and my favorite Clever Koi. Our family has very different tastes when we move from one member to the next. So finding places that we all like gets tricky. Clever Koi makes that easy because we honestly have yet to run into something we don't like. Let's start with our favorite starter. The steamed buns (giggity). The pork belly is hands down phenomenal. An amazing bite that literally makes you want more and more. The lazy fries are just that, again pork belly is included, but that garlic aioli is what drives this dish. The tai salad is obviously classic. The short rib dumplings literally make you close your eyes and just say "Mmmmmm". My middle child is the hardest pallet to please at any restaurant as he only eats certain things, but the Chicken Katsu sandwich here is his second favorite chicken sandwich in all this world. The first time he ate it he spent the whole ride home raving about it. Mind you, we live in San Tan, so not a short ride. The shaking beef is always good. It has this firey kick that brings the heat upfront but does not linger. You cannot forget about the fried rice here. Rice is one of my weaknesses in life second only to pizza. Fried rice ranks right up there with my top favorite ways to eat rice and this ranks right up there with my favorite fried rice places. The main reason we come here is because of the noodles. Ramen, ramen, ramen. When you think of Ramen, I assure you this is what you are thinking of. The broth is oh so savory and reigns in the fresh veggies and proteins to meld them with the noodles for a flavor punch each time you have a mouthful. They have great drinks here as well, or so I've been told by the other adults I come here with. I always just get a sake and Sapporo so... LOL The service is always good here and we somehow always manage to miss the lunch or dinner rush which is awesome. All in all... this is by far my favorite dining spot in downtown Gilbert. Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere, in the middle of a great little square. A must eat for me.

Our server Maya was incredible and extremely knowledgeable on all dishes, drinks, and so many details of the restaurant! I've never had this good of service anywhere! My wife and I had the Pad See Ew with the braised chicken thigh which was INCREDIBLE. Perfectly chewy noodles, great seasoning. I highly recommend adding some of the homemade Fresno chile sriracha for a kick! The pork ramen was also very delicious. Be warned it's a lot of pork! My wife preferred it with the green jalapeño sriracha. The drinks were also very unique and delicious! A sideline view for me and riding the line for my wife. Oh and the best part was the dessert Bananas foster hush puppy puffs. These were so unique, seasoned with cinnamon sugar and Chinese 5 spice. It took some getting used to but the more you ate it with the Carmel toffee sauce the more I enjoyed it. All in all I can see why people love this place! It's a 5 star restaurant for a 3 star price! If you're looking to expand your flavor palette and have a wonderful evening I can't recommend Clever Koi enough!

Growing up in a Japanese household, Japanese food and authentic flavors are deeply personal to me. I know what the real thing tastes like, and Kazu Ramen delivers. The flavors are genuine, comforting, and done with care -- exactly what a great bowl of ramen should be. The sushi rolls are equally impressive and hold their own alongside the ramen. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the customer service is consistently on point every visit, and the place is always buzzing -- which tells you everything you need to know. A busy restaurant with great service means they're doing something right. My only minor note is that the selection of additional sides could be expanded -- I'd love to see more options to round out the meal. But that is a small wish for an otherwise outstanding spot.
