First try and loved it! If you are a ramen lover and want to try something different--come to this spot! The menu is simple, and yet, have a combination and varieties for you to go for. The restaurant have enough space for big and small group and only indoor siting. The service is great, fast delivery, and very friendly. The price is reasonable and perfect portions, not too much or too little. Come and check it out yourself.

My husband and I were craving ramen one weeknight. We usually go to downtown Chandler for ramen, but decided to give Kazu Ramen a try, especially since it's much closer. We were greeted upon entering and seated right away. The restaurant isn't large, but has ample seating indoor. We shared an order of edamame to start then both ordered a veggie ramen for our entrees. It comes with veggie broth with tofu (fried or soft), bean sprout, seaweed, corn, seasoned egg served with kale noodle, and topped with green onions. We were pleasantly surprised by how tasty the veggie ramen was. It was creamy, but not thick and we loved that it came with a good portion of tofu as well as (half of) a seasoned egg. The egg is usually add on at most places. We enjoyed it so much we ordered it again a few weeks later!

Easy to find with plenty of parking. We arrived for an early dinner and seated within 5 minutes. Staff was friendly and clean environment. We ordered the gyoza which was just how I like them. Very authentic in flavor; then the chicken karaage which was perfectly moist, crispy and served with a side salad; next up was the tonkatsu ramen. I admit at first glance the broth looked more milky than the rich broth/cream I've had before. But, don't let that fool you. It was tastier than I thought it would be. The noodles were nice and chewy and yummy. My only comment is that it could be served a bit hotter. Other than that, I had a great experience and will return.

I've lived right down the street for the past five years and can't believe this was my first time coming in. From the moment we walked in, the staff was amazing and so friendly, kind, and attentive. We were acknowledged right away, seated quickly, and felt well taken care of the entire time. Our server was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, especially since my daughter has a severe shrimp and shellfish allergy. They took it seriously, answered all of our questions, and made sure we could both order off the menu with no issues, which meant a lot to us. The place was bustling and full of people, but service was still quick and efficient. We ordered different bowls with different noodles and meats, and everything was delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the meats were cooked perfectly. I'm still not sure if ramen is my go-to food in general, but I would absolutely come back here and enjoy a nice, warm bowl again. Great experience!

We enjoyed ramen at this location and were really impressed--especially with the chicken broth. Since we no longer eat pork, we usually expect to sacrifice some richness when substituting pork broth for chicken or veggie, but this place did not disappoint. The chicken broth was savory, flavorful, and surprisingly rich, and all of the chicken options were excellent. The ramen was super tasty overall. If I had one suggestion, it would be regarding the shrimp tempura: the shrimp could be a bit larger and the coating a little lighter. The batter tends to hold onto grease, so when you bite into it, you mainly taste the oil. That said, everything else was phenomenal. The karaage was also very good and well-seasoned. We would definitely come back, especially for the chicken-based ramen options. Roicia

My friends and I were craving ramen on Monday night and we headed over to Kazu Ramen since it was the closest to us. It most definitely satisfied our craving. I ordered their Kazu Ramen. It was sooo yummy with the perfect little kick of spice. I also loved that the broth was extremely warm... just how I like it! Next time I definitely need to check out other menu items. The service was great, quick and friendly, as well as the cleanliness. Definitely a great local spot when I don't feel like driving too far for Ramen.

We were in the area for a medical appointment on nearby Boston St., and happened upon this eatery for lunch. We will be back for sure! The food was very good, as was the table service. The dishes came out quickly, even though there quite a few other customers at the time. We thought that the broth for one of the bowls was just a tad too salty, but otherwise we were very pleased with the taste and look of everything. If you are looking for ramen in the Gilbert area, this is where you should go.

Some of the best pork belly I've had! The Tonkatsu ramen was great! The service as fast and attentive! The restaurant was clean and comfortable!

Stopped in around 6:30 PM on a Saturday. Despite the crowd, the estimated 15-minute wait was spot on. Our drink order was taken promptly, and we enjoyed the Teriyaki Salmon and Kazu Ramen. The salmon was a great new choice for me, and the ginger salad dressing was amazing. Everything was served hot and fresh. The only downside was the California roll we ordered to-go; it had a very fishy taste, likely from being prepared on a surface used for raw fish. Overall, it was a great experience with delicious food and excellent service. We'll be back soon!"

We went here after going to the mint market which is pretty far from where we usually are. We saw the ramen spot and decided to go. We have no regrets, the food was absolutely amazing. We decided to get the chicken kaarage and the kazu ramen. The ramen had chashu as well as grilled chicken, the chicken was so delicious, it had so much flavor and eating it with the spicy pork broth made it 10x better. The chicken kaarage was also very tasty but I feel like it lacked flavor. Adding the spicy mayo it came with did make it better but I still feel like having that extra flavor would've made it perfect. The restaurant itself was a cute little space but it was very clean. There was enough space between each table which is always good. Our server seemed like a shy person but she was so friendly and attentive with us. She made us feel welcomed. If we're ever out there again, we will definitely be coming back.

I'm sorry, but after reading all of the reviews and looking forward to my first visit here, I have to say I was a little disappointed! First of all, the service was very slow, one server staffed. The inside isn't to large of a space, yet many empty tables during the time frame my daughter and I came in which was well after their lunchtime. The menu is fairly basic & straight forward..Thought on the pricey side for what they offer. Decided on the takoyaki appetizer and it was kinda bland, not much flavor or octopus. Too bad, we were so excited to try it. I had the avacado roll which was ok, but you can't really mess up avacado wrapped in a rice roll! My daughter had their spicy tuna bowl which was probably the best thing ordered. The food was average, nothing special.

Hubby and I were looking for a quick bite to eat near the mall and found this ramen spot right down the street. The service was amazing. Our server was attentive and sweet. The meal arrived quickly which was good since we were borderline hangry! The ramen was really good. I loved the spicy broth! It was the first time trying the ribeye, egg, and rice dish. It had a touch of unexpected sweet savory. We would definitely return. The dining area is small so I could imagine it getting crowded during lunch or on the weekends. Plan accordingly!

No real wow factor, food and service was good and had enough flavor. Drawback was the pork broth was oily and had chunks of fat.

An update from 7 months ago--…read more I've been to this Mensho location a few times now, it's actually very close to my house, I could walk there. Maybe when it's not summer I will :) I had previously mentioned I've been to Mensho Ramen in Japan twice and this location seems to be very close to quality and flavors. I've tried different appetizers on each visit here and I always get the Garlic Knock Out ramen bowl because I love garlic, but next time I need to branch out and try the duck matcha bowl, a friend of mine swears by it. It sounds like an odd flavor combo, but I hear it just works. Coming here is pricey, so this isn't my everyday ramen shop, but once in a while I enjoy it. Other reviewers mention not liking the noodle texture, the soup broth thickness, or overall flavors. Some have even questioned its Japanese authenticity. That's most funny to me, given it's very close to the ramen I had at Mensho in actual Japan. So I don't think it's Mensho who is unfamiliar with Japanese cuisine... I don't love all the apps I've had, for instance I would skip the Takoyaki or corn ribs, or $8 edamame. Next time I'd like to try the Aji fry, many people have said that's good. So, it's likely coming down to personal preference. Service has been solid so far. Servers are friendly and food comes out fairly quickly. Anyhoo, I'd still recommend this spot, and bring friends or family. We recently brought a friend who is vegan and she was happy to see vegan based broths and items on the menu. I think the price point makes it hard for some people to enjoy this place, as it costs about double compared to other bowls of ramen in the valley. But I appreciate that they make their noodles in house and the dining space is very authentic to a ramen shop in Japan (small and nice wood decor). It does remind me of being in Tokyo, which I miss dearly. Mensho here is more expensive than Tokyo. Food in the US costs way more in general. I think most folks would be surprised to learn that. But it's true, Japan has the most amazing food scene and they execute everything perfectly yet it's cheaper in many instances. I was blown away by how affordable food was in Japan. IMO that says more about the state of affairs in the US, and less about this specific restaurant. Some reviews have noted poor quality and management, I haven't noticed that yet, and I hope it doesn't happen. So far, I've liked it enough to keep going back every now and again :)

It's nice that you get to choose the spicy level from 1 to 10. I got a medium maybe a 5 or 6, which was perfect. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere, the music wasn't too loud, and they even had the FIFA World Cup on the TVs, which made for a fun place to sit and eat. If you order one of the sizzling plates, it comes with a bowl of miso soup. The miso was really good and didn't have that overly fishy flavor that some places have. We also tried the fried pork dumplings, which were pretty standard potstickers, but they were done well. The sweet and sour dipping sauce had just a tiny bit of spice that made it a little more interesting. The pork soup bao were another good choice, with plenty of filling and really good flavor. First, Sizzling House sits around a plethora of amazing food options in the Mesa Asian District. It is a small eatery and very casual. We started with the dumplings and karage. These were where the rating dropped. I didn't find anything memorable about either... My friend ordered the tokontsu ramen with think noodles. I had a taste, and while I'd order it if wanting ramen, this was what I expect of good ramen. It hit the right notes on taste and the noodle s were cooked well, just nothing that would make me perk up if someone wanted to get ramen. The highlight, which would have made this a debate between 4 and 5 stars, and which I will go back for (already excited!), was the sizzling Angus beef plate with thick udon noodles. This was one of the better dishes I have had of late, and I am glad I got extra beef and opted for the black pepper sauce. The thinly sliced beef with the thick udon noodles was a perfect pairing, and I ate this much faster than I meant to, not leaving any leftovers despite the add ons. Food came out quick.
