The restaurant has a cool vibe to it and the inside is nicely decorated, but apart from looks it pretty much live up to our expectations.. We decided to sit at the bar. There were three male staffers.They seemed somewhat friendly, but didn't go out of their way to engage with the guest as much as they did each other. We started with a few drinks since happy hour was still going and had about 30 minute's till it ended. Also, we decided to get a few foods to share-that were a really good deal versus their regular menu prices. Got the Caesar Salad that was extremely salty! Did a side of fries which come with 3 dipping sauces and their valley wings which were both very good. My son got (as his main meal) the Aftermath Burger and tots which he seemed to enjoy. My husband had their burrata salad which was surprisingly delicious. Fresh & fantastic, cool, crisp and refreshing. I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka spicy! Good, but could have had a bit more heat. That said, the serving size for the price was pretty fair. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. Food was decent and the happy hour menu was actually excellent! As a frequent guest at Born & Bred, I can confidently say this spot keeps me coming back because of the great atmosphere, solid food, and consistently amazing service. The French toast was a little burnt this time, but it was still delicious--soft on the inside and full of flavor. The breakfast sandwich was okay; I expected it to be more on the level of their burger, which I really enjoy. The huevos rancheros were flavorful and satisfying, making them a standout breakfast option. What always makes the experience worth it is the service. It's consistently quick, friendly, and attentive every visit. Even when one dish isn't perfect, Born & Bred still delivers a great overall experience. My friend and I decided to check out this location as I saw fellow Yelpers review it. Loved both the ability to dine inside and the patio. Thankfully, we were sat in a corner as it can get very loud. Sometimes a detriment for me when dining out. Our server was fabulous, and we had a great experience. What we ordered: - Lady Luck: very refreshing and a perfect cocktail for the warmer Arizona climate. - Broccolini: great to start the meal with and share. We loved the flavor combination and said we'd order again if dining here. - Chicken Madeira: my friend ordered and liked dish, especially the complexity of Madeira sauce. - Pan Seared Halibut: love love love the papas bravas, and the sear on the halibut. I don't often order halibut, but I would definitely do so again at this restaurant! Delicious! - Affogato: what a sweet way to end the evening. Definitely hard to park in this area, but I do think this location is worth maneuvering this busy part of Chandler. Came in for girl dinner! My finance got the girl dinner which consisted of a Cesar salad, fries, and pasta Ala Vodka with a drink included in the price. The deal is amazing and everything was delicious. The Cesar salad had great flavor. The pasta was also good. I had a Cesar of myself and the chandler burger. The candied bacons and pickles jalapeños were a great touch to the burger. The tots were nice and crispy! The service was great and our server was in top of it, even as she was the only one taking tables. There is parking in the area but I could see how it'd be hard to find parking on a weekend. Had an amazing time here for Mother's Day. We sat up at the bar. They do have specials till six even on the weekends. I got a burger and tater tots as well as a glass of wine. We also split some chips and guac and my friend had a Cobb salad. Food was delicious. We also had a couple specialty drinks suggested by the wonderful bartending staff. This place has been on my list forever, so I finally checked it out on a Saturday night. As expected, it was packed. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the bartenders were great the entire time. They checked in often without hovering, which I appreciated. I ordered the steak frites with a Caesar salad and added a side of Brussels sprouts. The portion of the Brussels sprouts was huge. Easily enough for four people. Crispy with a slight tang and full of flavor. Easily my favorite part of the meal and something I'd order again without thinking twice. The steak frites surprised me in the best way. The steak was tender and cooked well, and the portion felt worth the price. The fries were solid, and the Caesar salad did its job. Came in to try the viral Caesar wrap with pepperoni pizza layer - it was good! I was hoping for it to be a bit better but it was solid. Dressing was a tad too mustard-y for my taste and I'm not sure if I got enough pizza flavor to justify the up charge. Wings were excellent- we loved the dry rub. Service was great. We went on a beautiful evening, cool outside, but still warm enough to have the roll-up doors open and let the night air flow through the space. There were four of us. When we arrived it wasn't too crowded, and steadily filled up as we sat, ate, and enjoyed the evening. *Service: Jess was excellent, friendly, attentive, and present without hovering. Not absolutely perfect, but very good and what you want in a friendly, high-energy place. *Food: We started by sharing Charred Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Fries. The Charred Brussels Sprouts were fine but underwhelming. They needed more actual char and spice (salt) to bring out depth and texture, and while the sauce was fine, it was a bit sparce and bland in flavor, it didn't add much. The truffle fries were also decent but not noteworthy. The fries themselves were really good, crinkle cut, crispy on the outside and soft and steamy inside. But, the "truffle" aspect was really just a creamy dipping sauce which was decent. Essentially good fries with an alright dipping sauce. The Good Goddess salad was fresh, cold, and a good size. The dressing was excellent and really made the dish, it was clean, bright, and well-balanced. Though I didn't have it myself, the feedback on the Braised Short Rib was good, that it was solid and well-prepared, but nothing over the top or especially memorable. The Jalapeño Bacon Burger was good, not great. Nothing really stood out flavor-wise, it felt a bit like a mishmash. The patty was cooked more well-done than I'd prefer. I ordered medium rare but was told it's a smashburger, so they can't control temperature, which makes sense, but slightly less cooked would've been far better. Unfortunately, the fries served with the burger were the exact same fries as the truffle fry appetizer, so while they were good, it felt a bit redundant, in hindsight, I'd order a different appetizer next time. This entree would've been much better with big, meaty, steamy steak fries or a different "side" if having just ordered the truffle fries. The standout was the New Fashion drink from the cocktails menu. I normally don't order off the specialty drinks anymore, don't often love them. I like my old fashion's a little on the sweeter side, and this one was perfect, balanced, smooth, and exactly to my taste. All four of us ordered the same drink, and everyone loved it. *Ambiance: Awesome atmosphere. A full sensory experience with lots of muted, but vibrant sounds coming from the street, the kitchen, the bar, and the dining room all at once. The open roll-up garage doors blur the line between inside and out, creating an energetic flow of light, sight, and sound. I liked the gender-neutral bathrooms that were super clean, had good music and were spacious. This place feels alive and intentional, it's a great vibe. *Value: for the money is mixed, it's a bit on the high side for what you get. $24 burger, $36 short rib, $17 salad, $15 brussel app. Some things were worth it, others seem a bit high for the serving. The drinks and the atmosphere carry a lot of the value. *Overall: it's a great place to spend an evening, excellent drinks, good service, and a fun, energetic vibe. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Our server Shea was incredible, so kind and attentive. We got wings, mac and cheese, vodka pasta and chicken Caesar salad wraps. Everything was great, temperature, flavor, etc. the truffle fries were insanely good and so crispy. We were celebrating my niece's birthday and at the end they gave her a free dessert and the manager D'dee brought out a card which everyone had signed. We came here for a late lunch @4 pm before we did some shopping, we were hungry but wanted a light bite since we'd be shopping for clothes! The restaurant was completely empty except for one gentleman sitting @ the bar which to me was surprising since it was still restaurant week, this could be good or bad? My thought being that we were the only table & the only ticket hanging in front of the cooks face is that Graycee forgot to put my dressing on the side on the ticket, she thought I'd just accept the salad it as is! Now as Graycee takes away my plate to have my salad prepared as ordered & my husband's burger is getting cold sitting on the table, so she's kind enough to offer me a complimentary second glass of wine... I thank her & accept her offer! My friend and I had dined at Born & Bred on a Saturday for lunch. I had made a reservation in advance, but it wasn't too busy at the time we had gone so I'm sure walk-ins are also fine. Our server came by shortly and got us started off with drink orders. We both got a refreshing mocktail, which was good. For our meals, I had heard a lot about the Chicken Caesar Salad wrap, so I went with that. My friend went with The Breakfast Sandwich. Overall, unfortunately the food did not live up to the hype. Met a girlfriend here tonight for some light bites before a Flamenco show over at the Chandler Center for the Arts (within walking distance). I asked the waitress to bring me a soda water and that worked out well. We shared a few appetizers here which included the broccolini, truffle fries and oysters on the half shell (4). Everything was tasty and good portion size. We enjoyed our bites and had enough time to walk over to a 7:30 show. Waitress was helpful and got us out in time. Parking is either on the street or there is a lot behind the restaurant. It is perfectly balanced - rich, smooth, and served with a vanilla cream on top that mimics a lightly sweetened Chantilly cream, putting this drink over the top!!! It was a nice day so we sat outside. It's the middle of January and sitting outside is a pleasure. It wasn't really busy. It did take awhile to get our food. That doesn't bother me but it does my husband. I ordered the salmon bowl and really enjoyed the fish. My husband had the rib beef sandwich with fries. He seemed to enjoy what he ate. We had a brunch day a couple weeks ago here. The place is really pretty, the weather was perfect so we decided to sit outside. Our waitress was really nice and we were enjoying everything, however when she took our order she didn't write anything just decided to memorize things, which honestly it gives us a lot of anxiety, there was 3 of us, and we said watch how she's going to mess up our order for not writing things down. And sure enough our order got messed up, I had to go get up and look for her to ask for the right things and honestly I hate being a Karen. We decided to stop for a quick dinner on the way to the airport and had a bonus of it being happy hour. We started with a couple gin and tonics and a Barada with prosciutto. And we had the burger with the beef tallow fried french fries. It was probably the best thing we had. We ordered the pretzel bread pudding for dessert and it was lackluster My husband couldn't drink his gin and tonic, both of them tasted off, but I finished mine. He then ordered a rum and Coke, and it had the same almost sour taste. We mentioned it to the wait staff who said they took it to the bar manager. No one other than our wait person came to the table. Kind of shocking that a manager wouldn't come over. And looking around we weren't the only ones that weren't finishing drinks, so it's a little interesting. We left the drinks on the table after paying our bill and left. This is a one and done kind of place for us. We probably would come back had somebody come to our table to actually address our needs. This was our first visit to Born & Bred since opening in downtown Chandler. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a few appetizers. We ordered the Burrata appetizer and Valley Wings. The Burrata was DELISH!! It is served with soft, charred toast, prosciutto and this yummy mixture of green olives, red peppers and orange peels (that was very tasty). The Valley Wings were served with their ranch and sadly it was not our favorite. Unfortunately, they were very soft and kinda chewy. The flavor was ok but sometimes when wings try to hard to be fancy it doesn't give the same appeal. However, we will be back to try the lunch and dinner menu. We were sat on the side of the patio by the bar which didn't quite share the ambiance the rest of the restaurant has. The initial greeting wasn't very warm and was just "what cocktail can I get started for you". After that everything was very mediocre. Not necessarily bad but not good. That was OK as I chose the wings and the oysters on the half shell. Both were good, and exactly as I expected but it didn't knock me over. The wings are big, so no scrimping there, and the oysters tasted good and fresh. We sat at the bar and the service at the bar was good as well...no complaints. I went for Mother's Day, they had tables open but weren't seating them. Had to wait 30 minutes and we only got seated because I asked and reminded them that we were waiting outside. The server never came. I had to ask the hostess. The server was slow and not around. Food took at least 25 mins to come out. Then we really wanted to leave but the server wasn't around. I could see the server behind the dark glass divider wrapping the silverware in the napkins. I asked the hostess for a box and check, server apologized for the poor service and said we shouldn't be treated that way. On the way out, the hostess apologized again. I'm not a needy customer, but expect better service and attention. You know it's bad when the hostess keeps apologizing to you. The food was decent, nothing special. I went in with my mom as we had a reservation for lunch. First, we waited 45+ minutes for our food--we ordered 3 items. Next, our waiter Graycee (blonde), gave us terrible service. We felt very bad treatment towards us, as when we said to her,"We ordered a chicken caesar salad and there wasn't any chicken in it." when it was brought out, Graycee replied,"You didn't say you wanted chicken". Another service issue was we were not checked upon frequently, tables next to us who had a different server would be checked frequently but we wouldn't be accommodated (hence the 45+ min wait for food). Lastly, I have to say that we felt resentment, almost as if there was some racist behavior in the air. Our first experience at Born & Bred was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The service was poor, the wait times were excessive, and the food did not justify the high prices. We were dining with a party of six and spent over an hour and a half at the restaurant. Throughout the evening, our waitress was inattentive and rarely checked on our table. Early on, we requested a pitcher of water for the table, but it was never brought out. My own water glass was only refilled once during the entire visit. The restaurant was not overcrowded, lots of seating, and appeared to be operating under a normal dinner service. After waiting over an hour for our entreées, our waitress stopped by and told us our meals would be out shortly. We then waited an additional 10 minutes before finally requesting to speak with a manager. The manager explained there had been a prior rush due to a nearby theater performance earlier and stated she would apply a manager's discount to our bill. A few minutes later, the manager delivered our entrées, briefly told us to enjoy our meal and walked away without checking if everything had arrived correctly. We quickly realized one member of our party's order was missing entirely. When we informed the waitress, she returned from the kitchen several minutes later and admitted the order was never made. She apologized and said it was being prepared immediately. After another wait, the manager finally brought out the missing Caesar wrap meal, apologized again, and comped that single entrée. Unfortunately, the food itself was also underwhelming and overpriced. The Brussels sprouts were undercooked and tough and the $24 Chandler burger had some of the driest hamburger buns I have ever been served. The only standout item was the pomme purée (mashed potatoes). Overall, we felt neglected throughout the entire evening. Between the poor communication, forgotten order, slow service, and disappointing food quality, this was not an experience we would repeat. We will not be returning. read more

Joined some friends last night around 7pm for one of their birthdays. We had a party of 16 and took up 2 tables next to each other with 8 at each. This location is much bigger than the Scottsdale location I've been to. The vibe inside is nice and all of the staff members were friendly! They brought out some sort of melon shot for everyone (forgot what it was called). Bit sweet so I gave the rest of mine to a friend. It was much appreciated though, thank you! Unfortunately, there were too many people to get photos of everything. My order: Hawaii Five-O Rigatoni Alla Vodka The Hawaii Five-O cocktail is an ube flavored cocktail. It was good but just a tad too sweet. The bartender was nice enough to re-mix it for me and add more calamansi and lime to it. That made it much better and tasted more refreshing!! My pasta dish was delicious. I kept it simple and didn't add any protein. I wasn't hungry at the time so I picked something that I could box up and eat the next day. I ended up taking the rest of my friend's short rib dish and another's risotto. I hate wasting food lol. The short rib was good. My friend described the dish as tasting very Christmasy due to the spices used in the butternut puree. The risotto was also good but maybe just a tad salty. Not bad. Celebrated my birthday in Born and Bred way! Born and Bred, in the heart of Chandler, is a cozy spot for a pleasant dining experience. The burrata cheese appetizer was gooey, paired with toasted bread that had just the right crunch. The pitted olives were a nice touch, though I'm not usually a fan of olives--except when it comes to olive oil. The arugula provided a nice crisp peppery taste to the dish. A delightful meal is not complete without good wine. We chose a glass of Jeio Prosecco from Veneto, Italy, and a Cote Mas Rosé from France, both of which complemented the meal perfectly. For our entrees, the Rigatoni alla Vodka was rich and satisfying while the swordfish was cooked to perfection. The meal ended on a sweet note with a complimentary key lime dessert, complete with a candle for me to blow out. Our server, who mentioned he is Persian, was friendly and asked if we had everything or needed anything. If there is one thing I could complain about, it's how pricey the Rigatoni alla Vodka became when we added three shrimps--an additional $12 ($4 each), making the dish $36. This was both our 1st visit to this restaurant & both felt the lunch menu was small - only a few options. We decided to split the Braised Short Rib Sandwich with sauces on the side & it comes with a Caesar salad. Waitress was friendly & attentive. She brought it out on one plate & then handed us a 2nd extra plate. We thought the sandwich was just OK & Felt like there wasn't alot of meat on it. This was my first time here and I came for dinner. I started with the oysters aftermath and really enjoyed them with the fresh Noble bread. I had the bolognese and the pasta was amazing and sauce flavorful! For dessert I tried the key lime bar which was good. Service was great and enjoyed the outdoor seating. read more

I wanted to like Born & Bred after going to Aftermath in Phoenix, but I was underwhelmed. We came here for HH and were not very impressed. The chicken wings had nice flavor, but are not as crispy as I would have liked them to be. My husband ordered the burger, which was extremely disappointing. I had heard rave reviews about Aftermath's burger, so I expected this burger to be amazing. It tasted really weird - it tasted charred but looked like a smash burger. It's difficult to describe, but we did not like it. The fries were okay but not great. The oysters were good and I liked the flavor and bread that accompanied it. Other than that and our drinks (no specialty cocktails included for HH), we were not impressed by their HH. We would like to try their breakfast based on our friend's experience, but we will not go back for happy hour. There's many better options in DT Chandler with delicious cocktails and food for HH. read more
