Service and food were great, love the atmosphere too. Amazing place would recommend to anyone in the area

Such a great experience, will be coming back for sure! Food was amazing and prices were excellent!

CASEY is the best! Wow. Absolutely took time and energy to explain the menu & answer questions for my aging mother. She can barely hear and he made accommodations to really help her make an informed decision. Then once the food arrived Mom needed some drinks and extra napkins, well that was done before needed! At a restaurant it's about the experience, and Casey made my mom's visit truly easy and she could spend time enjoying the food and conversation without stopping to ask for help! Always ask for Casey as he makes it an experience that's unforgettable read more

Read the reviews, asked the locals and everything was exactly as portrayed!!! Great BBQ spot with great service. For the hog heaven so go to experience a little of everything. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. The meat was falling off the bones!! Also got the Texas twinkies which were packed with flavor and don't sleep on their old fashioned!! I'll be back and recommend for sure read more

If you're looking for a great BBQ spot with a great atmosphere, Bobby Q's is definitely worth checking out! The atmosphere and ambiance were excellent, making it a really enjoyable place to sit down and have a meal. We started with the loaded baked potato, and it was delicious. The potato was cooked just right, not too hard and not overly soft, with just the right amount of butter and toppings. We also ordered the ranch salad. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, although I would have liked to see a few more cucumbers. The jalapeño cheddar sausage plate had just the right amount of spice. The flavor was good, but unfortunately, the sausage was a little too rubbery. It seemed like it may have been cooked just a bit too long. Still, it had good flavor and was enjoyable. And if you like sweet tea, theirs definitely lives up to the name! It was sweet. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was great, and the prices seemed very reasonable. Definitely a place I'd consider coming back to and trying something else from the menu. read more

This place is a must try! The ambiance is so fun! We had a party of 6 and were easily accommodated! The food was all delicious! We ate family style and ordered a ton of apps and shared it all. The service was great! The guy at the bar was so kind. There were no complaints. Everyone was very satisfied! Definitely recommend giving them a try! read more

Atmosphere was ok Our server, Trevion was great! Food was good has ribs and brisket. Love the cornbread and especially the donuts.

10/10 one of our regular lunch/dinner spots. Food is always yummy along with service! Such a cute spot for casual dinner or occasion. From food to drinks delicious. They do have a good selection of gluten free options, their bbq sauce is safe to eat!! As a gluten free girly this is very important to me and have protocols. Recommend Anthony he's friendly, takes good care of you &' goes above &' beyond. read more

We came here for dinner with a group of 7. Overall, it was a good experience considering they only had 2 servers and a full house of customers. They were doing a great job running around, staying positive, and being attentive as possible. It really was admirable! Although we were there for 2.5 hours, he did offer us complimentary dessert X 2 which was very kind. The drinks were 100/10 read more

Our visit to Bobby Q in Mesa began a bit roughly - but TL;DR; the good news is some great staff turned the evening around! How a team reacts to problems tells me more about the place than just having a 3 or 4 star experience - this group showed experience, grace, and real concern. To start - if you want a booth, make sure you specify that when you put in your name - it changes the wait time. While we waited, we ordered Cokes from the bar, and Marquis gave a warm welcome and great service! Upon finally sliding into our booth, we found the seats hadn't been brushed off - and it was very crumb-y (pun intended) - we ended up using our napkins and then grabbing new sets from a nearby table. We also learned the Coke was FLAT and bitter - not great. However our server, Calvin, during that typical greeting and small talk actually invited us to share our concerns, asking us not to hold back and as a result went above and beyond to turn our experience around. An additional visit from Manager Josh followed, apologizing and genuinely seemed to want the the feedback as a tool for improvement and coaching for some new staff. From that point, everything was great! From getting replacement drinks, to sampling the pulled pork and brisket to tender ribs, and the good sized Cajun shrimp appetizer, the team truly redeemed the evening, and the apple cobbler (it's got a pastry top!) and cinnamon sugar donuts was a great close to the meal. Calvin and Josh gave a masterclass in how to turn a meh start into a memorable meal. We're looking forward to going back - next time with a booth request upfront! read more

We were there last night. The food, the drinks and the friendliness of the staff were excellent as always. My complaint about last night is about the temperature of the restaurant. It was so warm that I started sweating. They had some portable AC around, so obviously their main AC wasn't working properly. I know this things happen, but they should had tell us in advance about the temperature problem, or maybe they could have suggested us to sit closer to the portable AC so we could be more comfortable. We were expecting to enjoy a good moment. It didn't happen read more

Bobby Qs is a great place for higher quality BBQ experience. You can get standard BBQ items, Salads, Burgers, sandwiches and Steaks. There's something for everyone here and the food is great. Also the service from DJ was top notch. He was very attentive and helpful for our dinner experience. Just a tip, if you have a group of 4-6, order the Hog Heaven. More than enough food for the group and keeping it easy for everyone. Great place for BBQ! read more

The food was outstanding, and the decor and environment was really nice as well. But the most outstanding part was the staff, particularly our server, Omar. My husband and I were up from Tucson for a sporting event I was competing in, and came here for my celebratory dinner. Omar was incredibly friendly, attentive, and just had a wonderful personality. I highly recommend requesting his section (although all the staff was very nice!). We will definitely be back when we're in town again! read more

Closer to a 4.5 because Crystal was awesome and there are many things to like about Bobby Q's. The place looks great and has a fun, energetic (but welcoming) vibe - like a bbq place should have. Sat at the bar to avoid any wait and it was a great choice because Crystal took excellent care of us. Ordered the "Whole Hog" and got to try different meats and sides. The mashed potatoes with peppered gravy were a hit, and the brisket was tender. Also enjoyed the pulled chicken and beef ribs. Overall good food - definitely get the mash! Also ordered drinks and those were terrific! Smoked old fashioned and Blood Orange Margarita - both excellent. The Blackberry Smash was delicious, too. read more

Came here for dinner and was glad we had reservations. There were quite a few people waiting for tables, and there is not a lot of space to wait. This place has a great atmosphere--very rustic, with lots of reclaimed wood and exposed brick. If you take a walk around the bar, you can see how big this place is. One big complaint we had was the drink menu. It's had nice colorful pictures of each cocktail, but absolutely no description of the cocktails. That would be great if we were only in an Instagram world, but we actually like to choose our cocktails by what's in them, and more importantly what's NOT in them. I love mezcal, and hubby hates it. Hubby loves whiskey, and I hate it. But there was no way to know the ingredients. We asked the server if there was a menu that listed what was in each drink. She said no and I asked how are we supposed to know what's in the drink? She said she knows them all and we would have to ask her. She really did know them all, but we only asked for a couple because we didn't want her standing there giving us the rundown of 20 cocktails. I'm not sure why they would do it this way, but it seems like a really bad thing. I really love the cornbread and butter that every table gets. So happy to see our server bring us the basket! Hubby got the brisket salad and I got to pecanha steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes and pecan coleslaw. I loved every single thing about my meal. The chimichurri on the pecanha steak was delicious! On the other hand, hubby said that his brisket did not have much flavor and that it was just okay. Of course at the end of the meal we got a little bag of the signature cinnamon sugar donuts! That's always a treat! We had a nice time and I really liked my dinner, but they seriously need to think about a different cocktail menu. read more

Bobby Q in Mesa is one of our favorite places to go out to dinner to. We were there last night and had Aaron as our waiter and he was great. He was very personable, outgoing and couldn't do enough for us, what a wonderful wait person to have for your business. Our group of 4 had the Hog Heaven Fest which is easily enough for 4 or more. We had their Baby Back Ribs which we love, fall off the bone ribs, then we had Beef Brisket which is delicious and the Pork which had a great flavor. We had gotten two Baked Potatoes which one is plenty big enough for two people and Corn. It is a fest and delicious with enough to bring home for another meal. You could easily feed 5 people off of that meal. Delicious and Kudo's to Aaron. read more

We had so much fun here for my mom's birthday. They had to have little portable AC units nearby to keep the temperature comfortable, but it didn't bother us. And the bar has a pretty nasty smell, so as long as you're sitting away from it, you're good. Super fun decor and ample seating. Our server was great, and all of our food was delicious. The drink menu is super fun too with drinks coming in funny-shaped glasses and whatnot. read more

Great vibe, service and food. From the moment we got to the restaurant we felt the place was in tune with everything. Great waiter and engagement, which always paves the way for a positive experience. I was so excited to try Bobby Q!! I was in Arizona for 2 weeks and this was the main thing I wanted to try. It definitely did not disappoint!! The meat was so tender - falls right off the bones. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Maybe it's the lack of good bbq in LA but I'd say this was probably the best bbq I've ever had!! Sides are so good too!! Service was amazing. Our waitress from start to finish has been so friendly and patient with us. Refilled our waters, checked in on us several times, and explained the food items on the menu with great details. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and comfortable. It was a very inviting place. I'm so glad I stopped by and I can't wait to return! read more

I decided to give this restaurant another chance after having a terrible experience at their Thanksgiving brunch--it was honestly the worst Thanksgiving meal I've ever had. I've been attending barbecues for many years at their location on 27th Ave, and that one has always been the best, even though the prices have gone up and the portions have gotten smaller. Unfortunately, this location was a big disappointment. I'm giving it one star only because the service was okay. The food, however, was absolutely horrible. The ribs tasted like they had been sitting out--cold, crusty, and even slightly rotten. The mashed potatoes were awful, and the vegetables were completely soggy. Sadly, that's it for me with this restaurant. read more

This was my second time visiting Bobby Q, first time for the Mesa location. The staff right away were so sweet and funny. You really have amazing staff, great group of people. My party got a ton of food to share and for three of us it left us with plenty to take home. Everything was delicious! I was really impressed with the smoke flavor and portion sizes. The complimentary cornbread and dessert donuts are a great addition to the meal as well. I also loved the interior design, soft calm lighting. I will be visiting here again with the family. read more

I would give them a 0 if that was an option. Service didn't exist at all. I counted 8 employees at the bar 10 ft from us. Not one lifted a finger to clean the table ask if we needed anything. Sunday at the front desk there was no one attending. If there is a manager of this place they should be fired. They auto add a tip so you have no choice but to pay for bad service. They won't see me again and if I were you I would find another restaurant any other restaurant. read more

Bobby Q was alright. I've heard rave reviews, so we decided to check it out. The atmosphere was super fun but a bit loud to hear others conversations: The service was rather lazy, our server didn't come around much. We had to chase him down to get our bill. Our food was good though. Get the Bobby Q egg rolls, they're really tasty and a neat twist on the egg roll genre. We would consider returning when we are in the area. read more

We went to AZ on vacation. Being from Chicago there's such a variety of food and cuisine that we could choose from but since we were in Arizona, we wanted something a little different. My husband and I were looking for a barbecue restaurant and this was an immediate hit when we sat down. Bobby Q's had some of the best reviews & came highly recommended online. Drove a little out of the way, but it was worth it!!! Still to this day (a month later) we're still talking about how wonderful the meal was. Hopefully, we'll be Arizona again. This was definitely a highlight to our trip. The manager was also coming up to see how we were doing and it's so nice that restaurants care about their patrons enough to come over and check on their tables. We will definitely return! read more

We took my parents and my little sister to try Bobby Q since we've always enjoyed the food. The food was great as always but service provided by Calvin was tremendous! He gave us very good advice between beer fries vs mashed potatoes and was so kind and patient with my indecisive little sister who had no clue what to order. He super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to our needs through our meal. My dad said he will definitely come back again to try more of the menu! 10/10 visit :) read more

Bobby Q - Mesa - Priscilla's Dream (my favorite) - New American Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

I'd heard great things about Bobby Q and was excited to finally give it a try. With all the positive reviews and accolades, my expectations were pretty high. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the hype. The BBQ was overpriced and lacked flavor. The smoked brisket and pulled chicken were extremely bland and tasted more like they had been cooked in an oven than in a smoker. The sides were also disappointing. At $8 for a very small portion, I expected much better quality and flavor. I'm not sure what qualifies as great BBQ in Arizona, but based on this experience, this wasn't it. Sadly, I left wondering what all the hype was about. Corn bread and donuts were fine which is why I'm giving 2 stars. read more

First time ever going here. I got the chicken fried chicken, which was phenomenal. I loved it. It was nice and buttery tasting. The gravy was perfect. The mashed potatoes were awesome. I also heard they have donuts here. I didn't get the trim. The machine was down, but I heard they're phenomenal. The service was good. The waitress made sure we had a food on time. I had her drinks we filled she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambience was good. We sat by the bar, which was decently quiet, not a whole lot of people in there at the time, but you could hear a little music in the background, which was perfect. we could still carry on a conversation at the house happen to Repeat or hear extra hard read more

We've been coming here for years, hosted a big Birthday party here and numerous other special occasions. This time, disappointed. Sat a a table that was rocky. Moved to another table which was okay. While we were there, no one fixed the rocker. We usually order the Hog Heaven, for the 2 of us, knowing we will be taking lots of tasty leftovers home. Received our meals, and felt something different about the food. We got that feeling a couple of months ago, but just thought it was a bad day. Now, I'm wondering if they have changed their meat supplier. Ribs were not as good as on previous visits. Brisket not as tasty. I stopped getting their beef ribs, my personal favorite because last time they were 1/2 size, tough and grisly Portions seem smaller and less delicious. Have talked to other people who loved this place and agreed with me. Quality has declined. This used to be one of top 3 choices in the area, now in no hurry to return. read more

I'm not from AZ, and was here visiting friends. Luckily, we found this place through Yelp and we're glad we did. This place has a lot of character and the food was delish. Servers here are super friendly and welcoming. Only sad thing is we don't live in the state. There was a bit of a wait so we decided to sit and eat at the bar area. No waiting. We ordered their Whole Hog Heaven meal, which was good for 3-4 people. With the two of us, we definitely had leftovers. We tried various bbq meats, with the beef ribs being my favorite. The meal also comes with three choices of sides. We got the pecan Cole slaw, loaded mash potatoes, and ranch style bbq beans. All of them were extremely good. Couldn't even pick a favorite among the side items. We also enjoyed a few cocktails, and the bartenders know how to mix drinks. They did my smoked old fashioned perfectly. Oh, and besides the excellent complimentary corn bread, they also serve you freshly made cinnamon donuts for dessert. I'll definitely come back here if I'm ever in Mesa AZ again. read more

Don't get a STEAK, they smoke them. Sorry but Filet doesn't need to be smoked!! BBQ is smoked. Had I been informed the steaks are smoked I would have ordered differently. Unfortunately, I found Bobby Q to be a bit overpriced, and the brisket was pretty dry, which was disappointing since that's what I was most looking forward to at a BBQ restaurant. Came for the first time to Bobby Q's for a birthday dinner because a family member recommended it and it was their birthday. It will be the last time that I will go there. Ordered a $53 steak and it came out overcooked (ordered Medium came out well done) Two minutes later another steak came out and they said they had brought me the wrong steak?? That one was purple. I told my waiter that it was still wrong but I would just keep it and eat around the edges. He said he would get the manager. Two other people came out and then the manager came by. At that point I was sick of people asking me how my steak was messed up so I told the manager that I was fine. That must have hurt Austin (the managers) feelings because when the bill came out the $53 dollar steak that didn't get eaten and was still on my plate was only discounted $19 (social media discount is how it was shown on the bill) I asked for more clarification on why the steak was not removed and the manager was more intent on explaining on how he felt brushed off rather than making the situation right. Austin made it a point to the party of 4 that we were in the wrong for not giving him the proper engagement when he came to the table. I had just had it with the constant interruptions and the surface level concerns for our experience. Me not going there anymore will not affect them. Just when you are looking for a good experience and good food for a celebration, try somewhere else. You will not find it here when Austin is in charge. read more
