Came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Salad tasted fresh. Service was good. Loved the donuts!

Ahmazing!! Awesome food, awesome service! Dominque was amazing!! She literally was one of the best funny, attentive and gracious servers I have ever had!! I have never had a bad thing here EVER. The laid back fun mood of the restaurant always brings me back!

Awesome lemonade! Not too sugary and not too sour

Bobby Qs is a great place for higher quality BBQ experience. You can get standard BBQ items, Salads, Burgers, sandwiches and Steaks. There's something for everyone here and the food is great. Also the service from DJ was top notch. He was very attentive and helpful for our dinner experience. Just a tip, if you have a group of 4-6, order the Hog Heaven. More than enough food for the group and keeping it easy for everyone. Great place for BBQ!

This was my second time visiting Bobby Q, first time for the Mesa location. The staff right away were so sweet and funny. You really have amazing staff, great group of people. My party got a ton of food to share and for three of us it left us with plenty to take home. Everything was delicious! I was really impressed with the smoke flavor and portion sizes. The complimentary cornbread and dessert donuts are a great addition to the meal as well. I also loved the interior design, soft calm lighting. I will be visiting here again with the family.

Closer to a 4.5 because Crystal was awesome and there are many things to like about Bobby Q's. The place looks great and has a fun, energetic (but welcoming) vibe - like a bbq place should have. Sat at the bar to avoid any wait and it was a great choice because Crystal took excellent care of us. Ordered the "Whole Hog" and got to try different meats and sides. The mashed potatoes with peppered gravy were a hit, and the brisket was tender. Also enjoyed the pulled chicken and beef ribs. Overall good food - definitely get the mash! Also ordered drinks and those were terrific! Smoked old fashioned and Blood Orange Margarita - both excellent. The Blackberry Smash was delicious, too.

Came here for dinner and was glad we had reservations. There were quite a few people waiting for tables, and there is not a lot of space to wait. This place has a great atmosphere--very rustic, with lots of reclaimed wood and exposed brick. If you take a walk around the bar, you can see how big this place is. One big complaint we had was the drink menu. It's had nice colorful pictures of each cocktail, but absolutely no description of the cocktails. That would be great if we were only in an Instagram world, but we actually like to choose our cocktails by what's in them, and more importantly what's NOT in them. I love mezcal, and hubby hates it. Hubby loves whiskey, and I hate it. But there was no way to know the ingredients. We asked the server if there was a menu that listed what was in each drink. She said no and I asked how are we supposed to know what's in the drink? She said she knows them all and we would have to ask her. She really did know them all, but we only asked for a couple because we didn't want her standing there giving us the rundown of 20 cocktails. I'm not sure why they would do it this way, but it seems like a really bad thing. I really love the cornbread and butter that every table gets. So happy to see our server bring us the basket! Hubby got the brisket salad and I got to pecanha steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes and pecan coleslaw. I loved every single thing about my meal. The chimichurri on the pecanha steak was delicious! On the other hand, hubby said that his brisket did not have much flavor and that it was just okay. Of course at the end of the meal we got a little bag of the signature cinnamon sugar donuts! That's always a treat! We had a nice time and I really liked my dinner, but they seriously need to think about a different cocktail menu.

First time ever going here. I got the chicken fried chicken, which was phenomenal. I loved it. It was nice and buttery tasting. The gravy was perfect. The mashed potatoes were awesome. I also heard they have donuts here. I didn't get the trim. The machine was down, but I heard they're phenomenal. The service was good. The waitress made sure we had a food on time. I had her drinks we filled she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambience was good. We sat by the bar, which was decently quiet, not a whole lot of people in there at the time, but you could hear a little music in the background, which was perfect. we could still carry on a conversation at the house happen to Repeat or hear extra hard

We had so much fun here for my mom's birthday. They had to have little portable AC units nearby to keep the temperature comfortable, but it didn't bother us. And the bar has a pretty nasty smell, so as long as you're sitting away from it, you're good. Super fun decor and ample seating. Our server was great, and all of our food was delicious. The drink menu is super fun too with drinks coming in funny-shaped glasses and whatnot.

Got to say that a good restaurant always has staff that seek to please you and this place shows that effort at the entrance and the exit. The atmosphere is elegant and tasteful, great place to bring a date or the boss lady. I came for the BBQ but didn't know they served fried chicken so that's what I led with. I did try to add a beef bone but at 12:30 they were already out... I instead added some pulled pork and some brisket. The two sides were roasted jalapeños which were under cooked and needed salt and Mac n cheese which were the best I've had so far at a local BBQ joint. It was super creamy and super cheesy with some very flavorful browned cheddar cheese on top, magnificent... the fried chicken was a lite medium crust that had a lite to medium herbal flavor. The meat was well penetrated with the 24 hour marinade, super moist. I would rate the chicken as a 4 out of 5. It was pleasant but an herbal crust blocks that caramelized fried chicken flavor. The pulled pork did have a lite smokiness to it but felt a touch dry. It was sent out with a smear of sauce on top, sin number 1... The brisket was a 5 oz portion. It was nice and tender but had very little smoke flavor to it. I couldn't tell if there was a pink ring due that it also was sent out with sauce on it but I'm sure it did, sin number 2...!!! My friend had the brisket and ribs. His opinion about the brisket was the same and commented that the ribs had little flavor and was overcooked, the bone literally disintegrated in his hands. We both rated the BBQ altogether a 3 out of 5. I gave this review a 4 because the Mac n cheese and chicken raised the total score. No one should ever order brisket and receive it pre-sauced...ever!!! I'll still come back though...

I am not really a fan of BBQ places so when my husband said let's go, I was like, "meh". I was more than thrilled with the food and the service. Our server, Michael, was so great with being attentive and offering recommendations. The manager came to check on us during our meal which was so nice. The food was amazing and when we got our check they gave us fresh mini donuts in a bag to take with us. We will definitely be back again.

The food was fantastic. The service was amazing that the best server ever Sara the food was so big. I probably have two more dinners with all the extras. The ambiance the music and the look was fantastic. Everything floats so perfectly. The scene the lighting was amazing. Everything about this restaurant was fantastic. This is a one in 1 million Barbecue Place and I am coming back soon

Ask the Community - Bobby Q - Mesa

Is the cornbread unlimited?

Yes we've been served multiple baskets !☺️

Is there outdoor dining?

Yes

I was just wondering what items you would recommend for a Gluten Free meal? or even side orders.

All the meat and BBQ is gluten free! And mash potatoes, Broccoli, coleslaw! Very gluten friendly!

P Is there patio seating?

They do, mostly shady too, yet not dog friendly.

Is the spicy sausage a real hot link?

No, not like farmer johns or earl campbell hot, they are spicy plus they are cut in Diagonal slices. Now they are very hot if you add the hot bbq sauce

Is this bbq place kid friendly? It would be nice to have a great meal with the wife , a couple cocktails and let the kids enjoy as well.

Excellent spot for the family... My nephews absolutely love their Mac and cheese.. Very kid friendly And free in house scratch made donuts at the end of your meal.

Is this the same people as the one in Phoenix or is it a franchise?

Pretty sure it's the same owner.

Gluten free options?

It says gluten free on their page

She loves Alice in Wonderland. She was mistaken and thought it said Java not Kava. She thought Java Kava was a coffee lol So to my surprise when I get there, Kava is a dirt water that is very, very strong and pungent and not my cup of tea lol But besides that, this place is so hip and cool. The bartender was very, very informative and he let us know that they will give you your first dose of Kava for free to try it. I could not choke all of it down. My friend was a trooper goddess, and she choked the whole thing. I was so impressed by her I am very sensitive to things. I am a big baby sometimes so I did not drink the rest of mine because immediately I had a gag reflex going on lol So I did not drink the initial dose, but I ordered the Horchata beverage that had cover in it. And they have different doses, strengths and different styles of, so this is just what I ordered. It was the last light, on the menu he suggested for us. So even though I did not enjoy the Kava, it is not my jam. I would try it again lol I know that sounds crazy even after the strange tingling in my throat went away after everything I've said because I saw other people coming in and they had huge juicy type of Kava drinks and I was thinking well you know, maybe I'll come back and try the juicy, drink next time instead of focusing on this particular experience And the reason I say that is because the bartender was so great and informative and it is a fantastic vibe in there and it was busy enough for a weird Wednesday afternoon. So they have trivia karaoke all kinds of stuff throughout the week and I could see this being a really fun place. So if you like Kava, you should really come here. It is very fun. They had really great music going on and like I said the bartender was top-notch. Good job mad Hatter.!!! Try it!!

The place was less than half full when we walked in. The hostess was friendly, and we were seated at the bar. That's where the experience started going downhill. Several bartenders were working, yet not one acknowledged us not a greeting, not eye contact for an uncomfortably long time. I get it if you're busy, but common courtesy like "we'll be right with you" takes two seconds. Basic hospitality shouldn't be optional in a service job, especially at a place trying to position itself as "upscale." When we were finally able to place our drink order, we waited even longer. It got to the point where we were about to cancel altogether. The only reason our drinks even got made is because a customer of one of the bartenders sat down next to us and suddenly, all of our drinks were made at the same time. So if you know the staff, apparently you won't be waiting. My Old Fashioned was mediocre at best. Unbalanced and not worth the time or price. After last call, the bartenders vanished to close out tables, leaving us stranded and still waiting to pay. We had no intention of camping out for over an hour for a single round. I eventually had to get up and track someone down just to close out the tab. This place has potential, but the service was indifferent at best, borderline neglectful at worst. If you're going to charge premium prices and sell a curated experience, you actually have to deliver one.

But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. Not a bad speakeasy by any means, I have super high standards when it comes to these watering holes. Just not in my top five when it comes to speakeasies in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

It is small but decorated beautifully thankfully there are no steps because it is dark and you kind of feel a little lost as you're walking through but the ambience is very cool. It feels like just tropical and lush all around you. We were seated at a two top along the wall, which seemed like a small space however, it had a really cool cut out window with a moving landscape of water and an island that through the course of the time as we were sitting there, changed to a storm and then cleared it up again it was just really beautiful visually and didn't feel so closed in. The menu was a large variety of cocktails obviously you need to like rum and bourbon and all of the things that pirates and island feels give. Our server made some suggestions. We ordered two different drink drinks. The first was the macadamia nut piña colada I think we are expecting a little more coconut flavor to this drink however, it was very delicious. Definitely strong. The other was actually our server suggestion that had peaked my interest because it had guava in it and that was called off the grid. It was delicious. It was perfectly balanced with sweet and sour lemon, pineapple guava with bourbon and other flavors. On our way out, I did hit the restroom. They have two neutral bathrooms. It was large. It was very clean, decorated beautifully like the rest of the restaurant. All in all a great way to start the night.
