So glad I stopped by! It wasn't on my list of speakeasies as this was a bit far from where I was staying. But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. As the self appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back at it with another one. This time was checking out a speakeasy located in the heart of downtown Gilbert on a Friday evening at 9 p.m. I parked for free on the street before making my way to The White Rabbit. There are some things I really love about The White Rabbit and some that I didn't. Ambiance (3/5): When I think of a speakeasy, I think intimate. The White Rabbit is not that. It's pretty large for a speakeasy with a large bar and a good number of tables/booths. They weren't at capacity while I was there, but there were a good number of people there. Which made it pretty loud. To the point where you have to yell at your bartender when ordering your drink so they can hear you. Perhaps a much different experience on a week day. Getting in the speakeasy was both a hit and a miss. If you're subscribed to their email list, as I am, you get a different password every month. I was excited about this. Upon approaching The White Rabbit, I saw a sign naming the establishment and pointing me in the right direction. This takes away from the spirit of speakeasies which are supposed to be truly hidden without any signage identifying the restaurant. You'll see a velvet rope blocking a stairwell where you tell one of the bouncers the password. I had a reservation. If you don't know the password, as another party there didn't, they ask you to access a QR code to find out or ask others who are waiting. I appreciated the dedication to the cause. Once you get in, you walk down the stairwell, and then enter a cool hallway decked out with Prohibition-style decor. That leads you into the main room. The main room is also Prohibition-style though a bit unremarkable. The bathrooms are clean and also feature some cool paintings (and they also hide that they are actual bathrooms). With that being said, when I liked the hallway and the bathrooms better than the bar itself, that's a bit of an issue. Seats at the bar are bar stools without back support. Never fun for my old man back. I did, on the other hand, appreciate that they have free WiFi. Service (3.5/5): The service was generally pretty good, though a bit slow. They start you off with some water without asking you which is always a nice touch. It was just one of those situations where you have to put some effort into getting a bartender's attention on several occasions. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so no food for me. I did check out the menu. They have a small selection of appetizers, flatbreads, and desserts. Drinks (3/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I'm looking for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients and flavors. While The White Rabbit has a good number of cocktails, many of them didn't attract me. Part of it is a matter of personal preference. There were only two drinks out of about 20 that I was interested in. Overall, I wanted a little more, but with that being said, the drinks were reasonably priced for a speakeasy. And with it being the New Year, I thought this was a great opportunity to start the year with The White Rabbit. I came here with seven others after an event and ordered the Cha Cha Real Smooth ($17 - Kalai Coconut Rum, Pineapple, Amaretto, Strawberry, and topped with Housemade Coconut Matcha Cream). Now this is a great way to end the nice! I can see why it was listed as a dessert because it drank like one. Mix it up and take a sip. Like Pringles, you just can't stop. 12/31/2025 TWR had been on my list for so long. I even signed up for their email list a long time ago, got the emails with the monthly password, but never went. Finally made a reservation to check it out on New Year's Eve. The NYE reservation was $60 per person, and the amount would be added to the final bill. OpenTable said it would come with a welcome cocktail, truffle popcorn, and champagne for the toast at midnight. I had also reserved bar seating. When we checked in outside at 10:30pm, the guy told us that OpenTable overbooked the bar area and asked if we were okay with a table. That was fine with us, as long as we could still be seated. Note: Even if you have a reservation, you still need the password! At the bottom of the stairs, a guy led us through a door. We walked down a hallway with shelves on one side full of bottles. We seemed to have reached a dead-end, but we knew there had to be some kind of trigger to open the secret door. The guy peeked in and told us to pull the rabbit! The bar was a lot darker than I had expected. The artwork were portraits of some strange, kind of creepy-looking people. There were two co-ed bathrooms shared between TWR and another bar. Thankfully I went shortly after I got there and was the first person in line because the line never stopped after that. There was a sign that said only TWR customers could enter TWR. Eventually they got an employee to stand there to enforce that. At our table, we didn't get truffle popcorn and didn't see it on anyone else's table. Our waitress said they didn't actually have it (so OpenTable shouldn't have said that), but she offered us chips and hatch green chile queso to make up for it. It tasted pretty good, but we were too full to eat much of it. The welcome cocktail was a choice between Bee's Knees and something else I don't remember. I chose Bee's Knees because I like gin cocktails. I did not like this one though. A bit too sour for me. I wanted to try something else on their cocktail menu. I told the waitress what spirits I like, then she recommended the Whirligig - Mezcal, lime, cucumber, agave, and citric acid. I enjoyed this one, and it came with a fun pinwheel that actually spun when you blow on it. Just a few minutes before midnight, they passed out glasses of champagne. This is a cool little speakeasy in downtown Gilbert. We had a party of eight, and they let us know that our gratuity would be added and that we could not have separate checks, but that was okay. You scan the QR code for the menu, but there is a full bar so they can make any drink you would like. I really, really like the cocktail I ordered off the menu. There is also a food menu. My girls and I had a reservation, and once we arrived, we were seated, and our server, Chloe, was great! She was attentive and very friendly. As we approached the two-hour limit, we asked if we needed to settle up, and she said no, we could stay longer as they weren't too busy. We let her know our DD was there to pick us up and asked if he could come down and join us. She said that would be fine, but the door guy totally turned our DD away and wouldn't let him come down to join us. Ok so, I've found that taking my out of town guests here before going anywhere else, is how to get your "WELCOME TO AZ" funtivites started! Although, the place doesn't serve food, it's a great place to start with a cocktail for your guests, which is fun watching them, to figure out how to get into the joint! So fun! Love a good speakeasy and this is it. Did a wonderful job on the decor. Super moody, dimly lit. Clean restrooms We came on a Wednesday around 6pm, no reservations. It's located down some stairs. They have their logo to signal which way to go and where they are. No line, we were pleasantly greeted, gave the password and seated immediately, with barely a handful of people there. My bf and I were able to speak normally to each other, no shouting. On Wednesday's they have live music. It was this lovely musician. He had kind of like a jazzy blues feel & again not too loud. We made it for happy hour so my bf got an old fashion, we split a pepperoni flat bread, and I got the ritual and show me the body. Later we also got the pesto pizza. The drinks were a miss for me. They are doing a lot with the drinks, but they give details of the drink and an overall vibe so I think that's helpful. Nothing fabulous about the flat breads but enjoyable. After 730 it started to pick up a lot and became a normal noisy level for a bar. Our waiter was very attentive, then as it got busy he was starting to be spread thin as it was just him. Still no line as we left around 8pm ish My recc to enjoy this and have a great time, is to arrive between 5-6. Drinks are pricey but they have their happy hour. We were interested in trying something new in the Phoenix area- so when I came across a speakeasy in the area, I was excited! This speakeasy in located in downtown Gilbert and has been open for approximately seven years according to our waitress. To get into the speakeasy, you will need to make a reservation (you can reserve a bar or table seat), get a passcode and find the entrance which of course is lit by a red light. Once you find the door, you will have to tell them know your password, to be let in. Once you are in, you will be treated to the ambiance of this SPEAKEASY, BUT first you'll have to find the entrance- hint the name of the restaurant and red light. The bar is darkly lit with décor featuring all things related to apothecary, shelves of bottles and concoctions are featured on the shelves and along the bar. The drinks on the menu are interesting- a lot of unique drinks. If you like to keep it simple, you can always request your favorite cocktails as well. The bar also features a light menu that include a Bavarian pretzel with honey mustard, flatbread and pizza. Plus on weekdays from 4-6pm they have a happy hour with drinks and some food items at discounted prices. Note the seating is for only two hours. This bar tends to be on the louder side- we had trouble hearing each other and we were seating next to each other. Perhaps something to dampen the noise on the ceiling would be helpful. Service sitting at the bar has been very quick, and it's good chatting with bartenders as they are friendly and knowledgeable. We recently joined the newly formed Whiskey Club and look forward to coming in more often to enjoy a pour. The cocktails here are very well made. I've enjoyed various spirits each time. Took myself for a night out. Saw the White Rabbit on social media is always intrigued. So decided to book a table and went to check it out. The entrance is a bit hidden, definitely contributes to the feeling of exclusivity and mystery. Finding the entrance downstairs is not super hard since they did put out an A frame to show where it is. The bouncer at the door actually do ask for the password of the month, so make sure you look that up before going. Upon entering there whole decor definitely has the prohibition era vibe. The place is dark, and has WiFi since there is no service down there. They have unique drinks (including mocktails that I tried). Their humus and flatbreads are surprising good. Being a big fan of Jefferson Airplane, anything "White Rabbit" has me hooked! I would have loved for it to be a bit more "White Rabbit" focused but what they do have is nice! It's the true definition of a speakeasy complete with the "secret" entrance door and code. The decor is all about the apothecary, shelves of bottles and concoctions line the walls along with the spicy aromas filling the room. We arrived early in the evening with only a few guests spread out so it was super quiet. Our server was either over attentive or nowhere to be found but he was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the drinks menu. Speakeasy cocktails tend be unique and complicated so having someone that knows the menu is important! We each had two cocktails and shared a couple snacks. The Bavarian Pretzel is $12 and it's just 3 small pretzel sticks and a honey mustard sauce. We didn't get the beer cheese and unfortunately after it was delivered it was one of those times our server was MIA! The Prosciutto Flatbread is $14 and it wasn't quite up to the level we expected. After dinner, my friends and I stopped here for a drink. I've been in a few times before but it was their first time in. We didn't have a reservation but luckily they had some openings. The guy at the top of the stairs was nice. He took my name down, we gave him the password to enter and then he let us proceed downstairs. I don't remember any music on but you can definitely hear the music coming from Parlour Room next door. We were still able to hear each other talk though. A group of us were able to make a reservation to come check out this speakeasy in Gilbert. The White Rabbit is a hidden cocktail lounge located in the basement of the Heritage Court Building. The staircase is on a side street with only a red light to light your way. If you sign up for their emails, they will email you with the latest password to enter. Reservations are required and can be made on OpenTable. The door into the White Rabbit is located at the end of the narrow hallway and is disguised as a bookshelf with a door knob in the shape of a rabbit. The White Rabbit speakeasy has a fun vibrant atmosphere to it. They dim the lights and the walls are adorned with old black and white photos. There are blue tufted couches in the main area. Maximum time for seating is two hours during peak hours. White Rabbit lists their rules of etiquette on a sign outside the lounge and on their website. The menu has a wide range of cocktails on it that includes both classic and signature cocktails. I am a bourbon or mezcal drinker and ordered a Whirligig to drink. We had a fun time soaking in the ambiance of this place over good conversation. The White Rabbit has been a fun addition to Downtown Gilbert and is a nice throwback to the days of prohibition. read more

Found this place on Yelp and wanted to take some friends. Read the Questions and it said in multiple places that (a) busy times are after 9pm and that (b) no reservations allowed. Both answers looking like they came from someone associated with the business. As this business seems claimed on Yelp it seems imperative that the information here is accurate. However, neither item was true. I arrived at 820 and there was a wait. At least three groups went in prior to my group, some of which arrived after us. In overhearing they were taking reservations too. I have since went back into the comments sections and flagged the answers as false and hopefully Yelp will remove those comments so everyone has the correct information (FAQ on their site says yes to reservations) With that said, I never made it inside. So I cannot rank on that. My rating is simply based on the information that the business either put out themselves or has failed to clean up on Yelp). Also, there are two sets of green stairs. I have been living in downtown Gilbert for almost a year and a half now and recently just visited the White Rabbit for some after birthday dinner drinks. I have heard people rave about this place for years and was eager to finally give it a try. If you go here on a weekend, I would recommend making a reservation as it tends to fill up very quickly. It's a speakeasy so space is limited. I loved the entrance to this place. When you walk down the hallway to the bookshelf door, there are little bottles and tinctures of "medicine". When you finally figure out the door, the speakeasy itself resembles a true 1920s speakeasy. I loved the decor and the servers were in costume as well. The drinks were decent, tons of specialty drinks to choose from. It must really be hard to be a bartender here because there are a ton of drinks with complex ingredients. I'm the worst and totally forgot to a take a photo of our drinks here. This was our first time visiting this highly recommended speakeasy and we were very disappointed sadly. Let's start with the positives though! It's such a cool concept, with a secret doorway entrance, password required, the dark ambiance and decor. We were impressed with the vibe and were very happy that we could be seated immediately at 6pm on a Saturday. Now to the disappointing part: the drinks (which should have been the highlight). This is a highly rated cocktail bar, with lackluster cocktails in my opinion. I had the Prismatic Spray and it did not taste good at all - you could taste every single ingredient rather than it being a cohesive drink. My boyfriend has the Goteo Rojo and had the same feedback. Neither of us got even halfway through our drinks. It's possible that we just tried the wrong drinks, but it was disappointing overall. However, many people love this spot so it's probably worth stopping in to try for yourself! read more
