Holy crap! Ended up here randomly having paid a visit to a neighboring store. I never knew a county bar was three miles from my house. Tom Ryan's isn't trying to be anything it's not. It's a small local watering hole where you're gonna find live music, a lot of dancing, and a lot of drinking. There are a ton of dartboards and there's also billiards. There's a decent size patio outback as well. I haven't been here during the day so it's hard to say what that experience would be like and I'll be sure to update if I do but in the evenings it transforms into a place that is easy to just sit and hang out. Listen to music, have a drink, chat with friends. It's not winning any awards for ambiance and aesthetics but it allows a nice environment for some simple live music, dancing and drinks. This is a tough one because overall I really enjoyed the music from the live band and great energy from all of the bar patrons. It was my first time in Tom Ryan's. My hubby and I walked up to the bar to grab a drink. I love people watching so I was definitely getting a lot of good energy from everyone, that's awesome! What I don't understand is how a bartender can just walk up to only him, take his drink order and walk away, like I wasn't standing right there next to him. It was very un-welcoming. I didn't expect a whole, Hi, how are you today greeting as it is a very busy bar, but I do expect to be acknowledged at least. She did come back, but almost felt like I was an inconvenience when I requested a specific tequila. As a bartender myself, I hope the woman that served us see's this and I hope you were just having an off night which is understandable. Someone mentioned to me she was a manager which was even more mind boggling to me. read more

I started coming here for a dart league and I might be blessed with my league day, but Penney is the absolute best. She's sweet, fast, and efficient. It's so refreshing going somewhere that you're remembered and the service is amazing every time. One man show that flows like there's multiple workers there. 5/5 for me because of her!! read more

Wow. If I could give negative stars I would. Most fucked up place I've ever been to. Bartender yelling incoherently, feeding off pro-trump behavior. Almost everyone here throughly disgusts me...everyone here is severely over-served with the bartender(older, I'd say 50's bleach blonde, glasses) only encouraging more drinking. Went there the Friday before Memorial Day and had an amazing time! It had a great sized dance floor, plenty of beers on tap to choose from, with an option for tall drafts. Prices were fairly reasonable. The bouncers and bartenders were very welcoming when I told them I was out of town, as well as so many great regulars welcoming me! Got to see Nathan Dean play that night and he and his band killed it! Looking forward to visiting next time I'm in AZ! read more

Me and my friends been here multiple of times and out of no where after letting me and my friends in, 15mins later they said we had fake ID's when 3 of us are over the age of 30 & one is 28. They checked our ID's before we went in. I don't understand why such a low number on the reviews. This place is the place to be in Chandler with live bands, pool tables and noice outside patio. The employees were great. This was ok for a dive bar. It was kind of an awkward feeling walking in. It was obvious we weren't "regulars" here by the stares we got from the other patrons. There were plenty of dart boards and there seemed to be a tournament going on. Was cool to watch. The bartender was really attentive. We were served as soon as we walked in. Since there isn't a food menu (not even appetizers) we decided to just have one drink and leave. I had an Irish mule and my gf had a jack and coke. I could barely taste the Jameson in my drink and my gf had a good mix in her drink. We had our drink, paid our tab and left. SINGLE WOMEN BEWARE I caught someone trying to put a drop in my drink. I refuse to leave my drink unattended. The bouncer followed me around and told me I couldn't walk with a drink in my hand. When I told him I felt unsafe, he said it wasn't his problem, he was there to watch the door alone. I did NOT feel safe as a single woman there and could not leave my drink unattended, but was not allowed to move with my drink. Unacceptable. Treat your patrons with respect and look after the ones that are giving money to your establishment. read more

From the outside it doesn't look like much. Just a bar in a strip mall. But inside, the place is huge. There is a very nice sized dance floor, plenty of seating, darts and pool and a stage. Parking seems ample. For me, the only downside is that they don't have any of my favorite beers and a cosmo with Tito's for $15 seems a bit on the high side for a dive bar. Although I will say, the pour is generous so there's that. But my absolute favorite thing about going to Tom Ryan's is the staff. Beautiful, Amazon bartender, Nina and the beautiful, petite and super funny manager, Julie elevate the experience. Good place to get your country (or any other dance) on. My friends and I have been regulars at Tom Ryans's since its early days. It used to be the place to go for live music and country dancing at it's best. Ownership changed a couple of times, with varied results, but a few years ago the original investors and management retook the helm of the bar. As single women, we had become used to security staff who would always make us feel safe. In this day and age, the safety of female clientele should obviously be a priority for management. Sadly, the opposite has happened. When a woman is 86'ed from a bar because she got very upset and vocal over repeatedly being touched inappropriately and the offender is allowed to continue his ways, something is definitely wrong. Video proof was ignored and apparently management has decided to ignore the strides that our country is trying to make to allow women to choose who can and cannot touch their bodies. Apparently it is still a thing to blame the victim. If you are a woman who wants to be safe in public, I would choose another bar. If you are a man who enjoys molesting women against their will in public, this place is for you. read more

I had an incredible experience at this bar! It is very quaint and has a cool vibe to it. However, what really made my trip was the bartender Paige! She was super friendly, made delicious drinks, checked up on me regularly so that my water and drink were never empty. Also important, I felt safe because she made sure people were doing what they need to do to stay healthy and safe and made me feel so welcome! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in AZ. read more

No cover, live band... need I say more? Yes, it's country music but I'm a little bit country. What's great about this place is the dancing. I two step, waltz, west coast and east coast swing and so do the cowboys that frequent this place. My friends and I barely had a chance to sip our drinks, we were always on the dance floor. I've only been here twice and we danced our asses off both times. Also, they have an enclosed smoking patio with a bar. There seems to be an entirely different crowd out there but still a lot of fun. We saw a man drop his motorcycle on a parked car next to him in (literally) the first parking spot out front facing the bar. He was drunk beyond all belief and his friends just picked him up, dusted him off, and watched him speed away. He left two obvious dents in the car and didn't say a word. I called the next day to tell the bar and the manager seemed less than interested. If you're reading this and it was your car- let me know, I have pictures! As for the bar itself, service is slow and waitresses seem uninterested. Bathrooms are dirty prices are high for a dive bar. You're better off going to Jolie's or The Reef 2! read more

I have known about this place for many years and would stop in every now and then but then I started to go to Jolie's more and thought would give it a try and it has won me over this summer and now hardly go to Jolie's... Honesty I have only have a few knocks on this place and one is not having food besides pizza, popcorn and peanuts, but now with uber eats and the ATL around the corner for those that want wings, no problem. We cheat sometimes and go eat at Jolie's but don't stay there much longer after. I am a short guy can I get a step stool for the men's bathroom lol So many games here, cornhole, touch screen, pool... And they have leagues or open tournaments on the weekends and during the week. I am good at darts but the people that come in to play are so nice and teach even new tricks. They have some pool sharks here which are everywhere lol but pool is free on Monday's and that is great. Great jukebox can download ap to your phone and good bands on weekend. As mentioned before great mix of age group esp on FRI/SAT nights lol...The regulars are a good group too from AZ natives, and from coast to coast. Have not had a problem starting up a conversation here... There are some "clicks" but so far everyone there has been great... Great happy hour deals, great selection of drinks, but what sells the place for me and my group (wolfpack) is the staff.... Katie, Paige, Summer, Crystal are amazing. They are not just working for tips they are genuine and that is rare these days. And even the boys Kyle and Amir treat everyone great and keep the house in order. It's been a while since we stopped into Tom Ryan saloon. Cruising on Friday night we decided to make a stop since we found out that Tom's was open again after a brief closure. Upon arriving we noticed the parking lot was void of many of the motorcycles that I have been there previously. Upon entering we also noticed that inside had been cleaned up somewhat and the clientele had seem to be a little more mature than doing earlier visits. The band playing was the breakaways and were typical country band music was very good. The staff and the wait was minimal as we sat at the bar. The only fault that I found with Tom Ryan's is the lack of the kitchen and the only food are light snacks. However, if you're looking for a place with good country music, good size dance floor and a fun crowd, Tom Ryan's is a good place to be. It has a long history in our area and it is one of the better country western bars in the southeast Valley of Phoenix. I believe in my personal opinion that if Tom Ryan's had a small kitchen served at least some bar food they would have a four star rating. This bar is made for drinking and dancing. read more

The only reason I didn't give the full five stars was because each bartender made my drink a bit different. They both tasted great!
