We've ordered from Bobby Q's many times and have always enjoyed the food, but unfortunately this last experience was the absolute worst. A majority of our order was missing, and the few items we did receive were dry, overcooked, and the sides were completely cold. When I contacted the delivery driver, she told me she had already raised concerns at the restaurant before leaving. She said there were items missing that she went over with the server, but they sealed the bag and insisted everything was there--even though she said it clearly wasn't. When I called the restaurant, I spoke with a manager who told me my only options were to come pick up the missing items or file a refund request. After already dealing with missing food and poor quality, I was understandably frustrated and did raise my voice during that conversation. I went ahead and requested the refund. Later, I called back and spoke with another manager who informed me that my refund request had been denied because I yelled at the first manager. Denying a refund for missing food because a customer is upset about poor service is completely unacceptable. At that point I had no choice but to file a chargeback with my bank. It's incredibly disappointing because we've supported this business many times in the past, but after this experience I will not be returning. Being charged for food we never received and then denied a refund is beyond poor customer service. read more

Wow!!! Best Barbecue I've ever tasted!! I've had the best! Texas, Carolinas, Kansas City....the meat is prepared and "Qued Up" in a special unique aged and smoked way. Beers on tap=High Satisfaction! My wife had the fried chicken while I had the two meat combo of Brisket and Beef Ribs. Everything came out quick and hot and delicious. The service? Man oh Man!! Anthony our server was amazing! He attended to our every need and was so professional and knowledgeable. One last mention...the vibe or ambiance should I say. Very calm and inviting atmosphere. Please don't be fooled by the hostesses who are energetic and will announce your table readiness at a high decibel level . 2 Stars because the bartender was great. Second time we are here, wasn't a fan first time. Compared to other BBQ places the food doesn't taste great and second time I'm getting luke warm food. The brisket on the Chile Relleno was dry and seriously salty, the plate was drowning in sauce. To top it off, the guy that refilled the ice bin dropped the scoop on the floor, picked it up and kept going....idk idk The place is full so it seems to have fans. We went to AZ on vacation. Being from Chicago there's such a variety of food and cuisine that we could choose from but since we were in Arizona, we wanted something a little different. My husband and I were looking for a barbecue restaurant and this was an immediate hit when we sat down. Bobby Q's had some of the best reviews & came highly recommended online. Drove a little out of the way, but it was worth it!!! Still to this day (a month later) we're still talking about how wonderful the meal was. Hopefully, we'll be Arizona again. This was definitely a highlight to our trip. The manager was also coming up to see how we were doing and it's so nice that restaurants care about their patrons enough to come over and check on their tables. We will definitely return! read more

I'm from Cali, so I don't play about my food... but Bobby Q really did that. My son and I went while we were in Arizona and we were seriously impressed. I ordered the ribs and brisket -- and both were SO good. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, not dry at all. The ribs were tender and seasoned perfectly. Like actually fall-apart good. And the cornbread? So nice. Soft, slightly sweet, just the right texture. I could've eaten that by itself. Service was unbeatable -- friendly, attentive, just good energy all around. Portion sizes were perfect too. And don't even get me started on the donut dessert. Dangerous. Honestly, best BBQ I've ever had. I'm lowkey mad I didn't go back again before flying home. We went for dinner a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night. You can always count on great food. I order the smoked brisket dinner. The meat is tender & delicious. Our waiter, Omar was attentive & on point. He made our dining experience feel like we were invited to a friend's house for dinner. He wouldn't just stop to check on us, he would talk to us, as well. We loved him!! He is definitely a keeper & a great asset to your company & truly represents what customer service is SUPPOSED to be. Great job, great service, & great food! read more

No air conditioning. It's been broken 3 weeks according to staff. They are trying to get by with portable evap coolers but it's not enough. I was uncomfortable my entire meal, and especially when the hot food arrived. The staff also tells me they are uncomfortable. Hopefully this review will motivate management to make this eating and working environment better for all. Food is always good to very good. This time also good. Lastly, was told I couldn't have a lime for my beer because the bartender already threw them out. It was right at closing time though. My advice would be to call host/hostess and ask how the AC is working before you go. read more

My brother wanted beef ribs for his birthday and I suggested we go here. This used to be my go to bbq place when I lived in the area. I popped in yesterday (monday night) for the first time in about a year and I was disappointed. My nice loves the complimentary donuts they offer here. We did the whole hog heaven, family meal. It comes w 4 meats and 3 sides. We did the beef ribs, St. Louis ribs, pork and brisket. Sides: corn, Mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes. The beef ribs were so fatty and we didnt eat all of them. The temperature of the food was not that hot, especially the pork and the brisket, like it had been sitting out. Another reason I used to love this place was the fresh hot donuts you get when you leave... well the donut machine was down and we didn't get any. Bobby Q is one of the best BBQ places in the Valley! If you haven't tried it, you're missing out. The whole atmosphere and decor is awesome. You walk in to then making fresh donuts and it just sets the tone for the whole meal! Tons of seating inside but I'd recommend a reservation, especially on weekends. They have a really great menu and everything is done/prepared in house. It's fresh, delicious, and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend getting the 2 or 3 Meat Platter or the Whole Hog Heaven depending on how many people you have. A perfect way to try a huge variety of meats and sides. It's absolutely worth it! They also have a great drink menu with some really fun cocktails! Their draft beer list is good as well with a nice variety. If you have room at the end of your meal, they do give our donuts which are so good! It's a great place to bring the whole family! read more

don't usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share a recent experience at Bobby Q's Mesa. I took my daughter there for her birthday with a party of six. We were seated quickly, which was a great start. Unfortunately, it took quite a while for our server to come over, and it seemed like she was really struggling to keep up with her tables. I understand that things can get busy, but it did affect the overall experience. The food is usually very good here, which is why this visit was disappointing. Everything came out cold, and my favorite Cajun shrimp looked like it had been sitting in water--it just wasn't up to the usual standard. I recently found out that this location is under different ownership, which may explain the change. Because of this experience, I'll likely be taking my family to Bobby Q's Phoenix in the future, even though it's a bit farther away. read more

No air!! It was 109 outside when we left the restaurant! We went for a birthday dinner for my son tonight and as soon as we walked in it was hot. i saw a few portable fans and alerted my husband. He asked the hostess if they had air and she said it was out but there was a fan right by our table. Unfortunately not everyone (12 people) at our table could feel any air and it was so hot and unbearable. They should have posted a sign on the door and they should not be operating without air conditioning in Arizona!! Unacceptable! We had a party of 13 people. I will only express what happened with myself and my husband. I ordered "smoked" wings - mind you the only wings available are "smoked"....these wings were not smoked at all! They were some bland wings, not crispy, not smoked, nothing....just plain wings. A huge disappointment. While everyone in our party had their entrees, my husband never received his. They deliver his burrito when everyone else was finished. They did take this off our bill. However, while it took them forever to make his smoked brisket burrito, they couldn't even get his order correct. He ordered it "enchilada" style, which they charge $4 more for sauce! It's supposed to come with rice and it was served with a few tortilla chips. I'm sorry but this place was a mess on a Friday evening early. Perhaps they had a bad evening but we certainly will not be back and will not recommend this place to anyone. Just know....I didn't even get into the other fupaws that occurred for our party. It was our first time eating at Bobby Q restaurant. We loved the complimentary corn bread before our meal and yummy mini donuts after our meal! I had the prime brisket Stroganoff and my husband had the Sedona burger. Both were DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection!! Jayden, the hostess, was friendly and seated us right away. First time ever here and it was a great place to go. The outside is rustic and gives you that feeling of a true bbq place. My wife and I split the smoked prime rib. I kept searching for more meat as it was good. I'd never had an aged steak before and found soaking it in au jus was a good idea. The horseradish was just like my dad's and was to me a little bit of home. My dad made his own horseradish and it could make your eyes bleed! All things aside it was a great experience overall. The wait of 25 minutes was worth it. Definitely a place to revisit. The donuts afterwards are a nice touch to any visitor and I strongly encourage everyone who likes bbq to go. Hello! I know this is a long shot but we were dining in your restaurant lastnight around 6. We were seated in the far back left corner by the patio area. We were a party of 7 with 2 kids one being a baby. Our waiter was a male with black hair and I believe glasses. Do you happen to know if you can give me his name? I would like to thank him as he was wonderful with my 5 year old son. At the end of dinner my youngest grabbed my to go box that was full of a half slab of ribs, my jalapeños, and Mac and cheese and it fell face down all over the floor. I was so sad because I only had one bite lol but what made my night was the fact that he was so understanding and patient. I went to clean it up and I was so embarrassed and he told me I wasn't allowed to clean it and he would take care of it. I left and went to the car and didn't get to thank him. Right off the 60 this spot always has peaked my interest. It's been on my list for a while and I finally made it happen! Be warned, they do ask if you have a reservation as they do get busy. Luckily, we could get sat since we had a small party. The service was quick and friendly. We got our food pretty fast. Towards the end our waitress did get very busy so it took some time to get drinks filled but that happens! We got the prime dip sandwich and the 2 meat platter with pulled pork and brisket. The meat was good on the platter. The sand which was ok. The Mac n cheese and sweet beans were delicious sides that we chose. Portions were big and overall the food was good. Wow what a place. We grabbed a Saturday reservation (so glad we did reservations) the place was packed and a huge line as we left. The staff from the server and manager were super friendly and checked on us a few times. The front desk host eats we're not as friendly unfortunately. The corn bread with a delicious whipped butter was a nice start to the meal. I had the prime brisket salad (small) which was more than enough for me. The meat was delicious and very lean. Hubby had the half rack of ribs. They were outstanding. Best we have had in AZ. They were tasty, tender, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth and not fatty. The shoestrings fries also very tasty and the bbq beans were delicious. Friends had the pulled chicken sandwich which was very good and the half chicken roasted which was delicious and a lot. OH MY GAH! The food was so good and warm! I loved the food and service. Our server was attentive and friendly. The appetizer was fresh and tasted so good! The cornbread was served with butter and it was delicious. I recommend the mashed potato + Mac & Cheese + potato salad, and the corn. I was living for how smooth and delicious the brisket was. The sausage was definitely spicy. For the end the server brought us all Donuts. Definitely will have to come back and get better pictures. These do not do it justice.
