We went to AZ on vacation. Being from Chicago there's such a variety of food and cuisine that we could choose from but since we were in Arizona, we wanted something a little different. My husband and I were looking for a barbecue restaurant and this was an immediate hit when we sat down. Bobby Q's had some of the best reviews & came highly recommended online. Drove a little out of the way, but it was worth it!!! Still to this day (a month later) we're still talking about how wonderful the meal was. Hopefully, we'll be Arizona again. This was definitely a highlight to our trip. My brother wanted beef ribs for his birthday and I suggested we go here. This used to be my go to bbq place when I lived in the area. I popped in yesterday (monday night) for the first time in about a year and I was disappointed. My nice loves the complimentary donuts they offer here. We did the whole hog heaven, family meal. It comes w 4 meats and 3 sides. We did the beef ribs, St. Louis ribs, pork and brisket. Sides: corn, Mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes. The beef ribs were so fatty and we didnt eat all of them. The temperature of the food was not that hot, especially the pork and the brisket, like it had been sitting out. They have a really great menu and everything is done/prepared in house. It's fresh, delicious, and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend getting the 2 or 3 Meat Platter or the Whole Hog Heaven depending on how many people you have. A perfect way to try a huge variety of meats and sides. It's absolutely worth it! First time ever here and it was a great place to go. The outside is rustic and gives you that feeling of a true bbq place. My wife and I split the smoked prime rib. I kept searching for more meat as it was good. I'd never had an aged steak before and found soaking it in au jus was a good idea. The horseradish was just like my dad's and was to me a little bit of home. My dad made his own horseradish and it could make your eyes bleed! All things aside it was a great experience overall. Wow what a place. We grabbed a Saturday reservation (so glad we did reservations) the place was packed and a huge line as we left. The staff from the server and manager were super friendly and checked on us a few times. The front desk host eats we're not as friendly unfortunately. The corn bread with a delicious whipped butter was a nice start to the meal. I had the prime brisket salad (small) which was more than enough for me. The meat was delicious and very lean. Hubby had the half rack of ribs. They were outstanding. Best we have had in AZ. They were tasty, tender, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth and not fatty. The shoestrings fries also very tasty and the bbq beans were delicious. Friends had the pulled chicken sandwich which was very good and the half chicken roasted which was delicious and a lot. We have loved Bobby Q for years and usually frequent the Biltmore location. Tonight we had a birthday dinner for our son and his family at this location. A modest dinner of 4 adults and 1 child. Food was great service not so much and the bill, questionable. Drink prices through the roof. 2 Tito's and tonic and a Perrier for 35.00. Used credit card to pay for dinner and was charged an additional credit card fee of 3% on a 220$ bill. Too big a resto group ( at least 5 locations we are aware of) for this kinda stuff. The corn clearly came out of a can. The baked potato wasn't cooked fully so it was so hard to eat I had to use both hands to try and scoop the undercooked potato from the skin. I was so excited for a fluffy and soft potato, so this was a big let down. The Mac and cheese was meh, and it had zero flavor. - We were seated at a booth that was incredibly torn up, so it scratched our legs and was uncomfortable to sit at for long. The server was very concerned and contacted the manager. The manager acted like it was no big deal and had the server bring out more mash potatoes. We came here once a month for q rolls and brisket. I had a horrible first experience! It was a pick up order I placed online. I showed up after the time it told me for pick up and I stood around and waited over 30 minutes or more to get my food, While people ignored me standing at the front, No one acknowledged me for quite a while. Employees looked at me and didn't acknowledge me. Finally, a lady came and asked had I've been helped, Possibly a manager tall blonde hair. She said the pick up order guy would be back. He finally came up about another 10 minutes later w/o my order! Said he would go get it and it took another 15 minutes at least. I get home just to realize everything is cold and old looking and tasting. My pulled pork sandwich was dry and definitely not fresh. My "smoked"wings were old and very questionable! They forgot my macaroni and cheese, The fries were cold like they had been sitting there. The best thing for my order was the potato salad, which I'm sure just comes out of the fridge and the bun from the sandwich. It was around 2:30-3 pm May1. 2026. There was probably Less than 10 customers at tables, I don't understand what took so long and why the food was not fresh. Lastly, I got sick from some I ate. Literally spent the rest of that evening and all day today.on the toilet. I've lived down the street from this restaurant for 16 years always wanted to try it and this being my first experience no need to say I will never come back here again!!!! This was the worst experience I ever had. One more thing I called about the missing macaroni and cheese and whoever the guy was I talked to inquire on the refund $10 kids meal seem to have an attitude wasn't very friendly and kept saying YUP!! Bobby Q's 10/10 recommend if you are looking for a filling barbecue meal at a decent price. The restaurant had a very fun almost dive bar feel to it, while also offering lots of seating options. Felt very cozy. I had the pulled pork tacos and Mac n cheese and both were amazing. I took my leftover taco home and even my family had great reviews. As someone who is not a huge fan of barbecue, this menu had something for everyone. The Mac n cheese was tasty and I would definitely order again.
