This is easily my favorite place to grab a cocktail or two with friends. The vibe is awesome, featuring really cool copper tabletops, and they even serve your water in cute little glasses. I have been here on several different occasions with groups anywhere from 2 to 10 people, and it is always a great hangout spot. The bartenders are fantastic to chat with and will usually customize a drink to your exact liking if you ask. For parking, I actually like to park a few blocks away so I can get some steps in and burn off a few calories on the way in and out. Highly recommend!

I've grown to really enjoy the expanded list of cocktails on their menu and that has improved my experience when I go. Plus, I just love sitting at that horseshoe bar. Until next time, cheers!
When you first walk in you feel like you have stepped back in time, cozy booths, gorgeous wrap around bar, bartenders that make you feel like an old friend, and music that was upbeat and not too loud. Our bartender took the time to listen to what we liked, made suggestions without trying to upsale us. The drinks were amazing, each person in our party loved what they ordered and it was fun to try a sip from each glass. The Float was delicious, the Espresso Yourself with the finished bourbon ice cream was sooooo good. We all wished we would have stayed there...
This place has been on my list sometime and glad we were finally able to stop by! Tours occur every Saturday on the hour from 11am-3pm, and can be booked online for $15/person. We had ours hosted by the (co?)founder which was very insightful to their process and included 4 tastings of vodka (nice and clear), gin (very aromatic in a pleasant way), bourbon, and rye whiskey plus a surprise pickle vodka. My go-to are whiskey and bourbon, but all proved to be delicious and any would make for a nice gift. Since we had been drinking previously to our visit, we didn't have room and time to have a drink at the bar, but certainly coming back looking at their cocktail menu online! The main area is a cocktail bar around a horseshoe, an homage to the guiding as it used to be a horse barn if I remember correctly. It gives speakeasy vibes with its dim lights, but certainly up on my list to come back and recommend to others!
I love the chill vibe of this bar. The lights are dimmed and the booths are cozy. You get a nice view of the distillation tanks in the background as you sip your drink at the round copper-topped bar. Arizona Distilling is located in the heart of Downtown Mesa. Since moving to Mesa, I have been enjoying checking out the downtown area and what it has to offer. This is great laid-back place to grab a drink. Arizona Distilling is the Valley's first whiskey distillery. I'm a big whiskey person and love that this place exists. Arizona Distilling serves up craft cocktails made with their own spirits. I have tried a couple of drinks while here. The Penny Chillin' was my first drink. It is a nice mix of bourbon and ginger that was recommended by my server. The Butter Perken is a good one too. There are a variety of drinks to choose from their menu. The bartenders are great and will wow you with their knowledge of these craft cocktails. If you love a good cocktail in a chill setting, Arizona Distilling is a good place to check out. There are lots of food options within walking distance in Downtown Mesa. The Metro light rail makes a stop not too far from here or you can just park for free on any of the side streets nearby. Swing by for early happy hour for discounted drinks.
Put me in front of a cleverly and carefully crafted cocktail and I become a Victorian man seeing a woman's ankle for the first time. Hubba hubba. Emeralds, copper, and a giant mural of the Arizona state flag. This dimly lit spot has given me my top two favorite cocktails I've had in 2025 so far. I thought my drink of the Beets & Rhymes was the best drink until my friend allowed me a sip of her Yuz Me Up. That was easily the best cocktail I've had all year. Citrusy, bright, with a lovely perfume of cilantro. If you're one of the ones that taste soap when having cilantro, you won't like this drink. As a cilantro lover though, I dig. I would come back for this cocktail, followed by the Beets & Rhythm (the beets will lower the liver enzymes after all the booze, okay?). Cheers, Yelpers! Come here. They make most of their spirits so rest assured that you are getting a taste of 'Zona and high-quality alcohol.
Recently came here for the first time and was very impressed! Walking past the entrance on Main Street, you wouldn't expect much, but as soon as you walk through the door, it feels like you stepped into a speakeasy. It's really cool! The ambiance inside is very classy and intimate. Loved the vibe of the whole place. The backdrop of the distillery behind the bar is so cool! The bartenders are all really nice and super helpful. They explain the drinks so well and don't rush you at all. Every drink we tried, we enjoyed! Personally, I ordered the Penny Chillin' and loved it! Such a good cocktail - I would definitely recommend it. Whether you're sitting at the bar or in a booth, you have a great seat in here. Next time you're walking down Main, you need to stop in at Arizona Distilling Co., this place is awesome!
Drinks 10/10! Dobe is a master of his craft. My husband and I went in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick drink and ended up staying for over 2 hours enjoying some of the best craft cocktails we've ever had. Chill and a bit sexy ambiance with dim lighting. Music is fire, had my Shazam out the whole time (Dobe on the aux), and drinks were an experience in itself. We had the No Cap, G & Tea, and Sunset Sherbet. Definitely one of our favorite spots to grab a drink!
Arizona Distilling is one of those places that surprises you when you walk in - unassuming from the outside, but inside is a cool, dark, sexy, and vibey cocktail bar! In the words of Miss Yelp Ambassador, hubba hubba! Walking in, you see the entire seating area... and it's a wide open setup, from the centralized bar area with seating all around to the comfy oversized booths along the sides! In the back, you can see where all the distilling magic happens through the large glass wall! It's gorgeous and everything you think of when you imagine the perfect intimate setting for a cocktail bar. I opted for the Rebel's Son - a wonderful mix of Copper City Rye, Dopo Teatro Vino Amaro, Rosemary, Elderflower, Lemon, and Cinnamon! Wowza, it's delicious!! Bartender's are friendly and happily willing to offer drink suggestions and steer you in the right direction for your tastes! Arizona Distilling is one of those places that I cannot wait to return - to start off a night out... for happy hour... or for a night cap! A well-earned FIVE STARS! *****FIVE STARS*****

What a gem! When we walked in we felt like we entered into another world. Beautiful, sophisticated atmosphere. Our drinks were so smooth and so well made. The bartenders are so skilled!
This place is worth going to for a fun day out to do the tour, learn about distilling, have some tasting samples and then have a couple craft cocktails at their beautiful bar. I made reservations and bought tickets online for a Saturday 12:00 p.m. tour in Mesa AZ, very reasonably priced. We arrived in Mesa, very easy free public parking right behind the distillery. When you walk in the vibe is super sultry, beautiful bar. Jason the owner gave the tour, we were only only ones for 12, so it was a private tour. Jason was great, nice and very informative, passionate about his product. Olivia, the distiller Assistant was also in the tour, very friendly. At the end we had 4 complimentary samples. When the tour was done, of course my friend and I couldn't resist having a cocktail at the gorgeous bar, by this time there were quit a few customer enjoying themselves. We had a Old Fashion and a Verde Valley, both excellent. Keep in mind, they do not serve food, but you have some great dining places within walking distance, if you need to eat. Atmosphere: the bar is gorgeous very sultry. Cocktails: excellent. Service: excellent. The tour is worth it (short and informative)

AZ Distillery is a great addition to Downtown Mesa. It has a moody, almost brooding atmosphere, and on a weekend evening it was busy and full of the noise of people having a good time. The bartenders were friendly and chatty, checked in often, and somehow managed to keep conversations going while still getting the work done. The drink selection is definitely geared more toward liquor and craft beer drinkers. My boyfriend enjoys whiskey and a good craft beer, so there was plenty for him. I don't drink much beer anymore and usually prefer wine, so the limited wine selection was a little disappointing for me. I ended up going back to a domestic beer, and $5 for a Coors Banquet felt a little steep. Cocktails seemed to average around $15. I'd love to see a little more variety for people who aren't liquor or big craft beer drinkers. That said, I'm impressed to have a place with this kind of atmosphere right in Downtown Mesa without having to head to Scottsdale for a night out. It gets very busy, so I'd plan ahead if you're going on a weekend evening. Overall, an enjoyable spot and especially a good choice if whiskey or craft beer is your thing. read more
Killing time in downtown Mesa, I stumbled upon this particular distillery. The reviews looked good, and as a lover of spirits and cocktails, I decided to give them a try Through the front doors you take a right and enter a very intimate lounge and bar area. The light is very dim, but you can see the central bar, the almost decorative stills behind glass in the back, and many booths and seating areas You order your drinks at the bar. They have a list of signature and classic options using spirits distilled at the whiskey as well as other spirits. Each cocktail is a work of art. The artisanal elixirs are made to order right in front of you at the bar. This means they are quality drinks, but it also means they take slightly longer because they're made with care... they also might cost you a bit money The staff are friendly. We spoke to a couple about the cocktails, the distillery, eating options in the area, etc The drinks are solid. They aren't the heaviest of pours or too strong. Each cocktail has specific drink rate, garnishes, etc that will accompany it The distillery has a prime location, smack dab in the middle of the downtown Mesa. You can find restaurants, bars, shops, and even a place where you can both play pinball and shop for antiques or a spot where you can eat Cronuts while playing Super Mario Kart (Outcast) Some tips: Tell the bartender what you enjoy drinking and let them guide you towards a selection They offer tours on Saturdays (1hr in length) where you can learn more about the distilling process and try samples They have a couple clarified cocktails that were truly unique and refreshing. We were sad to see the Tempe location of AZ Distilling close, so when we found out about this location, we knew we wanted to stop by. This place's oozes ambiance. It's dark and brooding and I felt like my cool factor went up just by stepping into the place. We were happy to find out that we were there for happy hour which runs from 4-6 pm and offers 20% off drinks. You really can't go wrong with any drink you choose because the recipes are varied and tasty and the bartenders are talented. This is a great date spot! read more

From the moment we sat in the bar, I was just floored by the experience. We were first greeted by the owner and creator of the distillery. Then we are offered to take drinka on the tour and the bartender Kalo was absolutely amazing. We learned a lot about the history of Arizona and the owners love for the state. We will definitely be back. A great spot for a local or tourist. read more

We absolutely love Arizona Distilling! Everything they make is just so smooth and uniquely flavored. You can't get it anywhere else. The service is unparalleled, they will hand deliver your cases when they run into shipping delays, absolutely incredible. If you go into the tasting room you will be a in a comfy, luxurious, yet casual place to just sit back and sip. A must try if you have not. Personal recommendations are: Commerce City Gin with Trader Joe's limeade or Mission vodka with Trader Joe's pink lemonade read more
If you haven't been here, you have to. I highly recommend this bar. From the outside, it looks like it might not be open, but it is. This bar is different from the other bars on Main Street. It has a classy, intimate feel to it. Yet it doesn't feel snobbish. The bartender was amazing. He just had the best attitude. He answered questions and made suggestions. Watching him make our drinks was like watching a magic show. The drinks were amazing. I first had a dirty martini, which is one of my favorites. I also had a violet femme, and that was amazing. I was not aware that this is their second location. The Mesa location offers a one hour tour for $10 that includes 3 samples. You can book online. I am definitely planning to attend a tour and have another violet femme very soon. read more

Very cool, rustic local distillery; they also offer tours starting at 6PM. They distill their own Gin, Vodka, and Whiskeys including bourbon. Plenty of different selections for drinks, stirred, shaken, martinis, fruity cocktails, and flights of 4. Our bartender was very cool and flashy when mixing. If you like fruity; recommend the Dazed & Infused Ended up buying myself a bottle of their Bourbon - $35 read more

I remember seeing articles this gem was coming to Mesa and didn't hesitate to come check it out. The service was absolutely great. The bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful. The ambiance was lovely. It's darker inside which gives it a nice speakeasy feel to it. The paint and wood look great with the copper accents. You can smell the fresh wood as they just opened. They have a huge window where you can see where they make their liquor. This place does not sell food so keep that in mind! Their liquor is great and the variety of drink choices are great. We will be back and continue to support this local distillery! read more

Service was awesome they are very helpful and knowable on the bourbons. Great atmosphere and cool bar design center stage, it is a bit dark if you have difficulty seeing but not so much where you can't see where you're walking. Strong drinks and good music. read more
