    Black IPA

Stopped by for taste. I haven't been in AZ for a few years so it was fun to check out a few places. The Black IPA was great. Small space with a long bar. I do prefer drinking at the bar when checking out a place by myself. I was offered some tastes and feel that it would be worth returning for more.

Yyyooo! These guys should be at 5 stars! Cool dudes running it on a Sunday. Quick to pour your drink and chill. Pretty solid spot. The beer is also very good. Our favs were Give Peat A Chance and Cafe Oro. Will def stop in the next time we are in Mesa.

Always a solid place to stop in when in downtown Mesa! Best beer in Mesa by far!! Trigo Suave wheat and the Sebastian Porter are absolute staples.

We had the Sour Child series ( fruited sour mirage, La Rosa, Passion fruit, & guava) and the Oro Trigo Suave (American Tangerine Wheat Ale) both quite good. Mine the latter one received the World Beer Cup Silver Medalist and is quite impressive. The bartender was attentive and spot on for service. Only drawback is that they do not serve any food, but there are nearby places to order from and have it delivered to the place which is quite convenient and overall a great place to come and relax. Music is not overwhelming inside nor blasting you out so you can actually converse in conversation and hear yourself speak.

Nestled alongside Main Street and Country Club, Oro is a hole in the wall watering hole that is whipping up some pretty darn tasty craft brews. Good thing for Yelp, otherwise I may never have found the place - and I'm sure glad that I did. I came in about 30 minutes to close on a Sunday night. Being fairly underpopulated at that time, I expected to receive glares from bartenders ready to head home. Instead, I was greeted warmly as I bellied up. Considered a nano-brewery, it's not a large place, though there's ample seating at/or around the bar, and on the patio. After assuring the bartenders that we'd make our visit quick, I asked for a recommendation. They countered by asking what I like to drink. The result was a tall glass of their very own Saison, which has a lighter flavor and qualities of a Belgian beer. I thought it was quite good and realized later that it packed a punch. My friend ordered an IPA, which was remarkably good. We joked that if we were forced to trade beers, there would be no winner or loser. I definitely want to come back and try a few more selections. After reading the other reviews, it sounds like there is a decent happy hour and food in proximity. I like what I hear, so plan to hear more from me about this place in the future!

Cool brewery on Main Street in downtown Mesa.. we stopped in for a drink on a Saturday., I will say I don't typically drink beer but when the only thing on the menu is beer .. you pick a beer and enjoy it I asked the bartender for a light beer and he suggested two from the menu.. after samples I decided on the Kolsch "I wish I was a cool kid" at $6.25.. it was light slightly fruity and refreshing The place was busy on a Saturday afternoon with a rowdy group enjoying themselves.. two tv's behind the bar were showing different sports teams .. small patio seating area out front If you're hungry, this place is in cahoots with Worth (yes!) menus at every table (look for the small clipboards) place your order with a server and Worth will deliver fresh food and chips to your table .. nothing wrong with that !! Worth is next door!

Beer Fact: North Dakota drinks more beer than anyone. Step up your game, Arizonians. Cheers! I popped in because I was next door enjoying me a sandwich. Having heard such great things about Oro Brews, I had to stop in. Their Elevate Nepal, a coffee blonde, was excellent. Good flavor, still quite hoppy, and very smooth. I also like their Royal Windsor, a spiced winter ale. They have a quaint bar here with comfy stools, some tables here and there, and they have outdoor patio seating. They don't serve food here but they're affiliated with Worth Takeaway next door that you can order from. Oro Brewing is a great place for some delicious brews. I would like to try some more booze!

Oro Brewing is our first stop on a multiple brewery day. I was going to say "run" but I jacked up my knee yesterday so it's more like a brewery hobble today. Regardless, this is my 146th unique brewery visit! OB has a good amount of seating both indoors and out, and yes Yelp, they are complying with all of the covid restrictions so quit asking me about it. Don't be such a nag... Unfortunately OB wasn't doing any flights, and since I am hitting multiple breweries I'm only reviewing a couple of beers. No flights is poor form though. I ordered up the Give Peat A Chance, a foreign extra stout with heavily peated malt. I love peat! Islay whiskys are my absolute favorite so how could I not go with this one. This was a little heavy for my first beer but was quite good. Earthy, rich, not super-peaty but then my peat palate is quite high so YMMV. It also had some coffee flavors there as well. SWPFTD went with the Red Fury, an Irish red ale. This was a nice malty red with just a touch of hoppiness. All in all OB was a good stop. I would have liked to try more beers but with multiple stops planned today I can only do so much. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Hubby was hoppy when we found this brewery

Milk is for babies. When you grow up you have to drink beer. At least, according to Arnold Schwarzenegger anyways! Well thank goodness we found Oro Brewing Company on a Friday night, because it was payday, and hubby and I felt like adulting. Oro is a cool little brewery on Main Street in downtown Mesa that has a partnership with Worth Takeaway a few doors down. Come hungry and you can order a meal from Worth while sipping on a delicious craft beer, and have it delivered to your table within the brewery. There were two gentlemen behind the bar, and as soon as we took our seats, one of them brought over a couple of cold glasses and a chilled milk jug filled with water. As he poured us each a glass, he mentioned that there are about 12 craft beers to choose from, and the menu was an easy read on the wall directly behind the bar. Hubby chose the Hop'iphany and I chose to enjoy mine Inside the Park. We both agreed that these beverages were not for babies- one sip and you would agree! Overall, the beers were really tasty and were served super cold. The service was great, and the music was on point - not too loud & great selection. It was clean and inviting and we we can't wait to visit again with a couple friends!

I've really enjoyed the beers I've tried here over my first 2 visits. The Cafe Oro is the perfect coffee blonde. The saison is impressive with just enough character to keep you coming back for another sip. The porters and IPAs are also good, but I've only had tastes so far. No food in house, but lots of options nearby so you can order and enjoy your food there with your beers.

I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Great deal too. The place is nice and decent in size. Parking was ok. They have a variety of games to choose from so it's also kid friendly if you bring your kids with you. They also have water and water cups to the side if you need some. The bartender who was there tonight was friendly & allowed us to take our time choosing the beer we wanted to try on our flights. Overall, some of the flavors were interesting and some weren't to our liking. Honestly, it really comes down to preference of how the flavors came through when you first sip it if you ask me. It was a hit or miss for me and my friends. Out of the 5, I did enjoy the Wy Abbo one the most since it's a guava pale ale. It had good flavors. One thing for sure though, I kind of wish all the beers on the flight were more cold. I don't know how to explain it but the temperature of it wasn't as crisp as I thought it should've been and it might've made a difference for my palate if beers came out colder. I also wish they included seltzers in their flight option. That would've allowed me to enjoy the flight more since beer can be heavy & fulfilling when you have multiple. We really wanted to like the beer options at this place but it wasn't for us. Glad we were able to test it out and for me, I only came because my husband and friends like beer.

There are so many breweries and pubs around here that there's pretty tough competition. As other reviewers have stated, their duck fat fries are great! So crispy and the herbs really elevate it. They can be a little heavy handed with the salt to the point where you may see salt piles on your fries, but at least the salt granules are larger and can be easily swept off. Although their fries are great on their own, they unfortunately struggle to strand up when loaded. I'm not sure how they do it, but we've been to places where fries can remain crispy even when loaded with toppings. Their poutine is still tasty though if you don't mind your fries soggy. Their burgers have great beefy flavor, but after trying a few of their burger options, my partner and I also feel that some other places do their unique burger stylings a bit better. A lot of the toppings overwhelm rather than contribute to the overall burger. There's plenty of searing both indoors and out. You have bar top, high table, and regular table style seating for indoors. There's plenty of 4 person tables outdoors under shade and also with misters on if it's hot out. Indoor seating offers plenty of viewing for sports. Service is also pleasant. Due to how they source their ingredients, the overall menu is on the pricier side. Although my partner and I prefer other breweries more, we do think it's still worth it to try visiting Arizona Wilderness Brewing at least once.
