Surprisingly spacious. I really dig this spot, dry chill with card games on the tables. The owner and one employee were working for our visit and they were killing it. The place was hopping and they were more than keeping up. The beer is awesome, impressive selection for the space they have. I am excited to see their growth.

Lovely staff and delicious beers. Clearly focused on making quality brews for a surprisingly reasonable price.

Wandered in as part of our I5 journey south from Seattle. We had chosen a restaurant nearby, but also wanted to sample some of the Mesa/Phoenix beer scene. We hit the jackpot! We sat at the bar and were engaged by the tap room manager. He was curious about our trip, we were curious about his taps, so we swapped stories and tasted their offerings. All of them! Great array of flavors and alch content and we left happy moving onward to our dinner. I hope these guys continue their success. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We left with a 32oz crowler for the road.

My wife and I just got done with a 5 mile hike and wanted to try a new brewery. We have a flight of 6 different beers and they are all amazing! Each of them has their own unique taste and none of them are skunky! Great beer and we'd definitely come back!

What a great little spot!! Found them on Groupon and decided to try them out yesterday. Guy working was incredibly friendly and very passionate about their beers. We ended up getting a flight before settling on their porter and flagship Scottish ale. Very tasty beers at a great price ($5/pint). They sell and fill growlers too! No food sold on site, but they do have free bar snacks and encourage you to bring your own food in (or order uber eats and have it delivered). Lots of options! Their board game selection was a little lacking. If you're into playing a game while you sip tasty beer I'd recommend bringing your own! Overall, very cool place with awesome people. Go check it out!

I have been meaning to stop by here for months... I finally did today to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday along with my wife. This is a diamond in the rough and a must-visit craft brewery! I am a huge fan of Scottish style ales, and this didn't disappoint. Ian, Sharod, and Maddie were terrific hosts, and we learned that they are going to start making scotch and whiskey in the near future... Super excited! Go online and read the story about the lineage of Ian and the family recipes that you can enjoy today... or read from my photos below... cheers!

No nonsense craft brewery, for people that like great craft beer. A quiet place where flavor is more important than flash.

Chupacabra was open, was a three-minute drive, and had excellent reviews. So my decision was made. I parked on the street for free a minute away on foot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical beer bar. Relatively small inside, but they also have a patio out front with picnic style seating. Casual. My type of bar. My only complaint? I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Some interesting brews, ranging from local craft brews to quality European beers. This is not the type of place that has your typical assortment of mediocre beers. You'll find a lot better here. Overall, a cool spot in downtown Mesa. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the neighborhood!

We love trying different breweries when we're traveling with friends and decided to buy a Groupon…read morefor this place since it offered 2 beer flights and 4 glass of beer for 4 ppl. Great deal too. The place is nice and decent in size. Parking was ok. It has some seating outside and some inside, along with counter top seating at the bar area and two areas with couches to relax in with friends to play games & mingle. They have a variety of games to choose from so it's also kid friendly if you bring your kids with you. They also have water and water cups to the side if you need some. The bartender who was there tonight was friendly & allowed us to take our time choosing the beer we wanted to try on our flights. Overall, some of the flavors were interesting and some weren't to our liking. Honestly, it really comes down to preference of how the flavors came through when you first sip it if you ask me. It was a hit or miss for me and my friends. Out of the 5, I did enjoy the Wy Abbo one the most since it's a guava pale ale. It had good flavors. One thing for sure though, I kind of wish all the beers on the flight were more cold. I don't know how to explain it but the temperature of it wasn't as crisp as I thought it should've been and it might've made a difference for my palate if beers came out colder. I also wish they included seltzers in their flight option. That would've allowed me to enjoy the flight more since beer can be heavy & fulfilling when you have multiple. We really wanted to like the beer options at this place but it wasn't for us. Glad we were able to test it out and for me, I only came because my husband and friends like beer.

The L-shaped bar seats 15 people and there are six high tops that seat six people, three picnic tables outside for eight people each, and a long couch inside for four people to chill. My beertender was very friendly and accomodating. He gave my dog Hansel a bowl of water and a biscuit. This is a very dogfriendly taproom. Both beers I had were very tasty. My first pint was a Hefeweizen. It had a slight waxy mouthfeel. My second pint was an oatmeal stout. At 7.3% ABV it was a tad strong, but it went down very smoothly. I snacked on some free popcorn but it was seasoned with a strong spice. Thankfully I could help myself to the water fountain. I enjoyed the ambiance and will be back.

There are so many breweries and pubs around here that there's pretty tough competition. As other reviewers have stated, their duck fat fries are great! So crispy and the herbs really elevate it. They can be a little heavy handed with the salt to the point where you may see salt piles on your fries, but at least the salt granules are larger and can be easily swept off. Although their fries are great on their own, they unfortunately struggle to strand up when loaded. I'm not sure how they do it, but we've been to places where fries can remain crispy even when loaded with toppings. Their poutine is still tasty though if you don't mind your fries soggy. Their burgers have great beefy flavor, but after trying a few of their burger options, my partner and I also feel that some other places do their unique burger stylings a bit better. A lot of the toppings overwhelm rather than contribute to the overall burger. There's plenty of searing both indoors and out. You have bar top, high table, and regular table style seating for indoors. There's plenty of 4 person tables outdoors under shade and also with misters on if it's hot out. Indoor seating offers plenty of viewing for sports. Service is also pleasant. Due to how they source their ingredients, the overall menu is on the pricier side. Although my partner and I prefer other breweries more, we do think it's still worth it to try visiting Arizona Wilderness Brewing at least once.

I've been here a bunch of times over the years. Giving 4 stars simply due a mix of experiences, good and meh. Most recently we sat at the cocktail bar ordered a beer & whiskey sour. Drinks came quickly but then it took a while for anyone to ask if we wanted food (we originally intended to). I think what happened is that our original bartender may have gone on break, while a new person coming on shift was busy doing things and didn't know to check with us since we already had drinks in front of us. It wasn't a major issue. It just created a long gap which gave us the option to decide to go elsewhere. We also noticed the beer we ordered was flat and we eventually let the new bartender know. She offered to get us a pint of something else but we had decided today wasn't our day at 12 West and move on. Typically beers are great, cocktails are solid, and food is good too.
