Much improved since the last time I was here two years ago . Looking forward to coming here more often when pizza place opens soon. Service is awesome and ambiance is also calm and relaxing. Great music, nice size TV's along with items for sale advertising their business along with take out beer in containers of varying sizes. Very very clean inside and pleasant interior with an expanded fired pizza area coming soon with 3 more TV's which should be opening soon. Can't wait to come back and try their pizzas with the beer. Will soon have plenty of seating and space to sit along with a bar area that is comfortable to sit at and have several different types of beer. Absolutely love this brewery. It is situated in an industrial park. Very much like many San Diego breweries were when the craft beer scene started. The staff is so friendly. The beers are amazing and they always have snacks! It's a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

We were impressed by the 10 beers we tried as flights, and were even more impressed to find out the owner was America's first deaf brewery owner and brews all the beers himself. We really enjoyed the oatmeal stout, the games on the tables, and our service was great. When we're in the area, we'll definitely be back. read more

Wandered in as part of our I5 journey south from Seattle. We had chosen a restaurant nearby, but also wanted to sample some of the Mesa/Phoenix beer scene. We hit the jackpot! We sat at the bar and were engaged by the tap room manager. He was curious about our trip, we were curious about his taps, so we swapped stories and tasted their offerings. All of them! Great array of flavors and alch content and we left happy moving onward to our dinner. I hope these guys continue their success. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A very nice brewery. Excellent, quality Scottish style beers. No food per se, but a selection of pub snacks. The beer menu went from lower ABVs to tall ales. Nice selection, and I didn't find any I didn't like. Nice environment- tables, roomy bar area, spotlessly clean, and very friendly staff working the bar. Pleasant lower volume music playing ( 70's rock) so conversations are easy, and a couple TVs playing sports and Chive style entertainment. A hidden gem. Been here 7 years, and it's tucked in a corner of a strip mall. Superb stop, great beer! read more

Came in to Lochiel for the first time today. Delicious beer and the two women working the bar were incredibly friendly and attentive. The tasting room was clean and there are card games available to play. So glad we checked this place out on a whim! Will definitely be back. read more

Stopped in here on my latest visit to the Phoenix area, this place is actually in the Mesa area! This is a predominately Scottish Style Brewery, so many of the beers are Euro Style! Now normally I'm not a fan of these types of beers, but this place is doing it right! I tried all of the beers available and they were all very well made and quite tasty! I met the owner/brewer who was a very cool guy, who takes his craft very seriously!Quite a few of his recipes are well over 100 years old! This is a quaint little place with no loud music or TV's for distraction, it's all about the beer here! I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling or living in the Mesa area! What a great little spot!! Found them on Groupon and decided to try them out yesterday. Guy working was incredibly friendly and very passionate about their beers. We ended up getting a flight before settling on their porter and flagship Scottish ale. Very tasty beers at a great price ($5/pint). They sell and fill growlers too! No food sold on site, but they do have free bar snacks and encourage you to bring your own food in (or order uber eats and have it delivered). Lots of options! Their board game selection was a little lacking. If you're into playing a game while you sip tasty beer I'd recommend bringing your own! Overall, very cool place with awesome people. Great selection of British style beers. I ordered the sampler so I could try all of their own brewed beers. Some are subtly different from one another but overall there's a wide variety of styles. Prices are crazy reasonable ($2 for a 10 oz?!?!) The atmosphere is inviting. Since they also Brew there, there's the scent of grains and yeast in the air. Just perfect for a brewery! They also have a no-tip policy because they want their workers to experience all parts of the brewing process without relying on tips by serving. They are proud to state that they pay a living wage. read more

I'm not a year round Arizonan so I stopped in yesterday for my third visit...in a year. Same friendly and very attentive beertenders! I only had the lagers yesterday, delicious. As with the service, the beer has always been great! I love the taproom....it's not overcrowded....trying to cram as many tables as uncomfortably would fit. I absolutely love that he has some "regular height" tables available!! High top chairs are a PAIN for me to get up on and are the most common at breweries, so it's always a relief when I see normal chairs!! Seriously impressed. The beer was excellent. Is Excellent! I walked out with a growler of Porter, the Mild Brown and a Jacobite Caber. The beers are well thought out and clean finishing. Very enjoyable. While I was there i had the Scotch Ale. It was very good. Not all that bitter hut a great smooth beer. Bartenders were super friendly and very attentive. Atmosphere was laid back. Felt like I was going to my buddies place for a brew. I really liked the brewing operations screen that showed what beers were brewing and where they were in the process. Enjoy! read more

Lochiel brewery is a new brewery in Mesa. They brew there beer on site which is evident by the yeast smell and the tanks sharing the taproom. They have 6 in house brews, all which were surprisingly decent for the short time this establiment has been up and running. Alley was warmly welcomed and began relaxing on the cool floor after taking some long smells of the yeasty air. She ate her dinner and was treated kindly by the bartender. They have some games and legos for anyone interested. 2 flat screen Tv's play sports from behind the bar. Classic Rock is playing but is barely distinguishable from the sound the brewing tanks make. As for location, if you blink, you will miss it, the sign is beyond small. The biggest downside for me was the yeast smell in the air. I really couldn't taste a difference in their beers. The porters tasted the same as did the other 4. The taste wasn't bad or harsh so it's not really a complaint. Their extra special bitter tasted like a regular IPA so make sure the name doesn't scare you from trying. Keep on brewing and Alley will be back. ;-) read more

Excellent beer. My wife and I stopped in last Friday and were not disappointed. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Good selection of their own beers as well as guest taps. The stars of the show were their own beers. I don't think I've ever gone to a local brewery and liked every single tap this much. Even my wife (who can be a bit more opinionated on her beers) loved them all. The Lochiel Scotch Ale was the fan favorite so of course I started with that. Very smooth and full of flavor. Nice smokey taste that sat on my tongue for a bit. Highly enjoyed it. My wife's favorite was the Lochiel Porter. Smokey, sweet and a little nutty. Everything is good. I had a great visit here. These guys are relatively new and are making some great brew. They make Scottish style beers from a long-time family recipe. They are located in a little hidden taproom in the Superstitions Commerce Center area. I will admit that they were a little difficult to find as the only signage that they have is on their front door. The atmosphere is pretty cool as the bar area is next to the barrels that they make their beer in. It's nice to know that you are getting the freshest beer on tap. There are a few interesting things about this place. They don't serve prepared meals but you are welcome to bring your own food. They do have plenty of pre-packaged snacks on hand that are free to patrons. The bartenders don't accept tips so the price on your bill is what you pay. I really enjoyed their flagship beer the Lochiel Scotch Ale. It's a pretty tasty beer and I can see why it's such a big seller. The Red Ale is a nice crisp and smooth ale. My friend had the EBS (a more bitter beer) and she loved it. They do can on site if you want to take a particular beer home. The staff here is great and they are all about creating an atmosphere of passionate beer lovers that just want to hang out and drink good beer. It's a really laid back crowd and I hope to check them out again. read more

Been to Lochiel many times and never had an experience that was less than great. The staff (specifically Maddie and Kirsten) are always perfect. The space and atmosphere are very clean and straightforward, but comfortable. Here's the thing: the beer. Guys. Listen up. Lochiel has a style and an identity - great Scottish style beers. While everyone in the valley is cranking out hazy NE IPAs or fruity hefes, Lochiel is pouring traditional pub ales, stellar porters and stouts, etc. There's not a bad beer on the menu. It's glorious. They are true to style, and where they get a little non-traditional that's where they really shine. Their spin on Mexican lager is epic. Really. This is not only a cant-miss spot in the east valley, this is a cant-miss brewery period. Cheers! read more

This brew pub is a real gem of a find. The bar is very cool and has an amazing atmosphere with the all the brewing tanks in the building. Great service from folks behind the bar. We all tried the samplers - great value. The brewmaster took the time to sit with us and explain the brew process and difference in the beers - a very nice touch. Anyways the proof is in the pudding as they say and the Lochiel beers have superb flavor. I would highly recommend the Lochiel Bar for fun evening out. The other thing I was impressed with was the stainless pressurized growler system that was available. The brewmaster sells them at a reasonable cost and allows you to re-fill the stainless pressurizable container with the beer. Keeps the beer fresh and CO2 pressurized. The best system I have come across. I wish I had known about this before... read more

This brewery needs MORE attention because every beer we tried was well balanced and unique in itself! There is no food service and would love to see them eventually offer a meat, cheese, and cracker tray just to nibble on while enjoying the beer.
