When I checked in today the app reminded me that I'm a "regular" here. That tracks :) Yet somehow I've never rated this place. I assumed I had rated this place after the grand opening about a year ago. So, I wasn't planning to Yelp it today, and I didn't take as many photos as I usually do. That being said, I enjoy this place every time I come here. The beer is great with rotating styles, and the pizza is awesome. I've always had friendly service and a fun time with friends. Today a new thing I tried was their hummus and it's SO good. There's a nice spicy flavor that was served with appeared to be house made pita bread. Like I didn't even take a photo of the pizza. I was so hungry I just went for it. So, you'll just have to stop in and try it out. Grab a beer from the bar and then order a delicious pizza from the Goat & Ram area. You can thank me later :)

We love the rotating beer menu and the fall seasonals are so fun to try. 90s music playing and a good beer during fall is so nostalgic. We love this place!

A great spot in DT Mesa! Stopped in for the first time recently and really enjoyed it here. We came here for some drinks but you can order food as well. The pizza looks delicious and will have to try it next time. Drinks wise, they have a large menu with a ton of variety. Spirits and cocktails are available, and a huge selection of draft beers. The Chupacabra is really good - a nice, light Mexican Lager that hits the spot. If you enjoy drinking local brews, you should add this to your list. The inside is nice and open. Plenty of high tops, outside seating, and seats at the bar. They have a bunch of TVs with the game on throughout the inside. All of the bartenders were very nice and helpful. Overall, really enjoyed coming here and will definitely come back!

Always feel welcome here. Great to see them supporting a great cause with their OG Lager beer. Oh, and if you are hungry check out Goat n Ram Pizza! Amazing! Oh the ambiance, warm and welcoming. Go visit and make some new friends!

Phantom!! What a great place to get beer and pizza! I have been coming here since they opened. Today, I had the weekly pizza, which was the called the Three Cs. It had chimichurri sauce, smoked chipotle lime chicken, pepperoncini cream cheese, mozarella, and parmesan. What a great combination of flavors, I truly enjoyed the pizza! I also had a delicious IPA that is newer, called the Stardust. Highly recommend! Very friendly bartenders and great service . Plenty of seating inside and outside. Check it out next time your in downtown Mesa!

Nice brewery. A little on the dark side. Nice outdoor patio on the sidewalk. Service was little slow, bartenders didn't seem to be paying attention. Didn't get to try the pizza.

Immediately welcomed and offered menus for both tap and pizza. Love that this is two establishments under one roof and it just works. The pizza is wonderful and so good. I had a flight of beers and they have such a good selection. The atmosphere was great plenty of seating and a great patio w heaters. Can't wait to return since the pizza changes every two weeks.

I stopped in here on a cold rainy winter night to grab a beer and watch the Suns game. I love it when local establishments collaborate together. Phantom Fox Beer Co. is operated by the owners of Chupacabra Taproom and the owners of Goat and Ram Pizza. I keep telling myself that I need to get down to Downtown Mesa more often now that I live close by. So I decided one night to get out of the house and discovered this place as I was walking around downtown. I enjoyed my time hanging out at the bar and watching the staff crank out pizzas. I dig the fun scary names of Phantom Fox's beers. Snare Trap, If I Had A Nickel, Hellhound, Ghost Fox, Samsquantch are a few. They made good beer here and have a number of them on tap. I grabbed a Walking Shadows beer and was happy to have discovered a new place to grab a drink close to home.

Beers are really good but I only tried the hazy IPA's. Pizza smells divine while you drink it. I would have been tempted to try the pizza had I not already eaten. I enjoyed the hazy IPAs and would certainly return.

Wow! That's all I have to say! I love pizza especially stone oven pizza. This one was literal perfection. The flavors and sauce were amazing. I loved how quick the pizzas came out and it's perfectly made to share. It's so good you might not even want to! The place is perfect for a night out with friends, date night, or just because. The place is cozy and in the heart of downtown Mesa. The drinks are served in a cute little glass that's aesthetically pleasing to the eye and in photos. Service was excellent and the workers are so friendly. This is a must visit! I can't wait to come back!

Pizza is ok great beer selection. Really good beers. It always seems to be busy. You seat yourself so if you picked a bad spot it's on you. I like that they have outside seats.

Really awesome place and great addition to Mesa downtown. The beers are consistently good and I appreciate the amount of IPAs and similar varieties. They have a sort of mythical theme going on that feels more high end and not in your face, which I love. Atmosphere is casual, easy to navigate and warm. Great place for a small group to hang. Nice patio too! Service is nice, attentive and very helpful in navigating the taproom's offering. Big cherry on top to this place is Goat and Ram pizza always hits. It's SO GREAT; one of my favorites in The Valley. They have usually about 4 pizzas that rotate relatively often so you get to try different ones often. And they are innovative! Their simple house salad with spicy Italian dressing is so good. Highly recommend this place!

Chupacabra was open, was a three-minute drive, and had excellent reviews. So my decision was made. I parked on the street for free a minute away on foot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical beer bar. Relatively small inside, but they also have a patio out front with picnic style seating. Casual. My type of bar. My only complaint? I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Some interesting brews, ranging from local craft brews to quality European beers. This is not the type of place that has your typical assortment of mediocre beers. You'll find a lot better here. Overall, a cool spot in downtown Mesa. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the neighborhood!

Great deal too. The place is nice and decent in size. Parking was ok. It has some seating outside and some inside, along with counter top seating at the bar area and two areas with couches to relax in with friends to play games & mingle. They have a variety of games to choose from so it's also kid friendly if you bring your kids with you. They also have water and water cups to the side if you need some. The bartender who was there tonight was friendly & allowed us to take our time choosing the beer we wanted to try on our flights. Overall, some of the flavors were interesting and some weren't to our liking. Honestly, it really comes down to preference of how the flavors came through when you first sip it if you ask me. It was a hit or miss for me and my friends. Out of the 5, I did enjoy the Wy Abbo one the most since it's a guava pale ale. It had good flavors. One thing for sure though, I kind of wish all the beers on the flight were more cold. I don't know how to explain it but the temperature of it wasn't as crisp as I thought it should've been and it might've made a difference for my palate if beers came out colder. I also wish they included seltzers in their flight option. That would've allowed me to enjoy the flight more since beer can be heavy & fulfilling when you have multiple. We really wanted to like the beer options at this place but it wasn't for us. Glad we were able to test it out and for me, I only came because my husband and friends like beer.

My beertender was very friendly and accomodating. He gave my dog Hansel a bowl of water and a biscuit. This is a very dogfriendly taproom. Both beers I had were very tasty. My first pint was a Hefeweizen. It had a slight waxy mouthfeel. My second pint was an oatmeal stout. At 7.3% ABV it was a tad strong, but it went down very smoothly. There are so many breweries and pubs around here that there's pretty tough competition. As other reviewers have stated, their duck fat fries are great! So crispy and the herbs really elevate it. They can be a little heavy handed with the salt to the point where you may see salt piles on your fries, but at least the salt granules are larger and can be easily swept off. Although their fries are great on their own, they unfortunately struggle to strand up when loaded. I'm not sure how they do it, but we've been to places where fries can remain crispy even when loaded with toppings. Their poutine is still tasty though if you don't mind your fries soggy. Their burgers have great beefy flavor, but after trying a few of their burger options, my partner and I also feel that some other places do their unique burger stylings a bit better. A lot of the toppings overwhelm rather than contribute to the overall burger. There's plenty of searing both indoors and out. You have bar top, high table, and regular table style seating for indoors. There's plenty of 4 person tables outdoors under shade and also with misters on if it's hot out. Indoor seating offers plenty of viewing for sports. Service is also pleasant. Due to how they source their ingredients, the overall menu is on the pricier side. Although my partner and I prefer other breweries more, we do think it's still worth it to try visiting Arizona Wilderness Brewing at least once.

I think what happened is that our original bartender may have gone on break, while a new person coming on shift was busy doing things and didn't know to check with us since we already had drinks in front of us. It wasn't a major issue. It just created a long gap which gave us the option to decide to go elsewhere. We also noticed the beer we ordered was flat and we eventually let the new bartender know.
