When I checked in today the app reminded me that I'm a "regular" here. That tracks :) Yet somehow I've never rated this place. I assumed I had rated this place after the grand opening about a year ago. So, I wasn't planning to Yelp it today, and I didn't take as many photos as I usually do. That being said, I enjoy this place every time I come here. The beer is great with rotating styles, and the pizza is awesome. I've always had friendly service and a fun time with friends. Today a new thing I tried was their hummus and it's SO good. There's a nice spicy flavor that was served with appeared to be house made pita bread. Like I didn't even take a photo of the pizza. I was so hungry I just went for it. So, you'll just have to stop in and try it out. Grab a beer from the bar and then order a delicious pizza from the Goat & Ram area. A great spot in DT Mesa! Stopped in for the first time recently and really enjoyed it here. We came here for some drinks but you can order food as well. The pizza looks delicious and will have to try it next time. Drinks wise, they have a large menu with a ton of variety. Spirits and cocktails are available, and a huge selection of draft beers. The Chupacabra is really good - a nice, light Mexican Lager that hits the spot. If you enjoy drinking local brews, you should add this to your list. The inside is nice and open. Plenty of high tops, outside seating, and seats at the bar. They have a bunch of TVs with the game on throughout the inside. All of the bartenders were very nice and helpful. It had chimichurri sauce, smoked chipotle lime chicken, pepperoncini cream cheese, mozarella, and parmesan. What a great combination of flavors, I truly enjoyed the pizza! I stopped in here on a cold rainy winter night to grab a beer and watch the Suns game. I love it when local establishments collaborate together. Phantom Fox Beer Co. is operated by the owners of Chupacabra Taproom and the owners of Goat and Ram Pizza. I keep telling myself that I need to get down to Downtown Mesa more often now that I live close by. So I decided one night to get out of the house and discovered this place as I was walking around downtown. I enjoyed my time hanging out at the bar and watching the staff crank out pizzas. I dig the fun scary names of Phantom Fox's beers. Snare Trap, If I Had A Nickel, Hellhound, Ghost Fox, Samsquantch are a few. They made good beer here and have a number of them on tap. I grabbed a Walking Shadows beer and was happy to have discovered a new place to grab a drink close to home. read more

Really awesome place and great addition to Mesa downtown. The beers are consistently good and I appreciate the amount of IPAs and similar varieties. They have a sort of mythical theme going on that feels more high end and not in your face, which I love. Atmosphere is casual, easy to navigate and warm. Great place for a small group to hang. Nice patio too! Service is nice, attentive and very helpful in navigating the taproom's offering. Big cherry on top to this place is Goat and Ram pizza always hits. It's SO GREAT; one of my favorites in The Valley. They have usually about 4 pizzas that rotate relatively often so you get to try different ones often. And they are innovative! Their simple house salad with spicy Italian dressing is so good. Highly recommend this place! read more

While we went out for Goat and Ram Pizza, we ordered a Happy Monday and an apple pie Cider along with cokes and waters for the kids. Prices were reasonable, nothing over $8 for a pint, and my wife loved the cider, and I enjoyed the Happy Monday even though its hoppier than my usual, it paired well with the pizza. Services was great, someone helped me carry the drinks to our table. Saw someone getting bounced for having one too many, appreciate the accountability and doing whats best for the customer(s). First of all, the pizza is amazing. They have inventive flavor combinations and the ingredients were very fresh. The dough was my favorite part, I would eat it alone that's how good it was. March 9, 2024 Vibe: Brewster :) Beers: I'm doing a bit of a solo pub crawl in Mesa. So only had one; the Kolche ERL KING, it was much lighter than the Kolche I'm used to from home. Should have went heavier or hazier. But if light is your thing it was good. I didn't have food but it looked like the pizza was popular and very tasty. Awesome vibes and perfect for adding to the nightlife of downtown Mesa. I've lived in Mesa my entire life, and it's amazing to see the evolution of downtown and reviving Mesa. Beer was pretty good. But would say their 'hoppy ipa' wasn't very hoppy, at least with my more wine developed-pallette. Also tried their cider, and it was more like a cranberry juice but still refreshing....and frankly probably super dangerous after a few. Main Street in Mesa has many places to grab some good beer. Phantom Fox is a new addition. They took over what used to be Desert Eagle Brewery and did an amazing job with the remodeling. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside Phantom Fox is Goat & Ram, which has some delicious pizza (I have a separate review). The food is ordered upfront and drinks at the bar. Phantom Fox has a great selection of beers and also offers a rotating cider. My boyfriend got a blonde ale, and I got the fruit bowl cider. My boyfriend said the blonde ale was one of the best he's had. My cider was really good. It was a good balance of tart and sweet. If you haven't been to Phantom Fox, I would recommend you go. I can't wait to go back and try some of their beers. read more

The beer is really good. If you're an Untappd person their beers are 3.75 ratings or above IMO. Awesome thing they only have one beer over 7% and it's 7.1%. It's nice because all the beers I've hatastes great and I'm not worrying about falling off the stool. Not every beer has to be 8% and up!! Also, I grabbed a pizza from the adjoining Goat and Ram. Very unique and very good. Spongy outer crust and outer crust surface burnt like wood oven. Crazy. I bought T&T which was great. Truffle oil makes crust under cheese soggy but I expected that. Interested when I come back to try other pieces if soggy as well. Still really good. Bartender did an amazing job pairing "If I had a nickel" beer with the T&T pizza. Met friends for lunch here yesterday. We sat next to the brew house as there are only a couple standard height tables and that's where they're tucked away at. So it was pretty loud as it was keg wash day but it was ok. They tell you when you enter that it's counter service, so you have to order at the counter, they'll give you a number to put on your table then bring your food out to you. I opted for a Mystic Dawn, it was light and good. My companions ordered quite the spread! They got the Munch Mix, a house Salad, Hummus bowl and we had two pizzas; the loaded potato and Penni Popper. I was Leary of the Penni Popper when I ordered it but to my delight they weren't fresh jalapenos w seeds so it was heat I could handle. I intend to try the leftover Loaded Potato today for lunch. The hummus was good....be careful....it's got a bit of heat, but delicious. It was a great stop for lunch and a beer and right in the hub of the bustling DT Mesa libations scene. New place in downtown Mesa. They have 11 beers on tap, about half of them being IPAs. I got a flight and the winter warmer beer for $18 before tip. Very fairly prized compared to other breweries in the area. I think the real edge that this place has is that Goat and Ram pizza is inside of it. Let me tell you I'm not a pizza person but their stuff is incredible, delicious, super high quality, and unique options without getting ridiculous. Service is good and prompt. It's a pretty big space which is nice, the decoration is industrial like most breweries are. This place is worth getting out of your way for. My favorite beers were the Kramus Winter Warmer and La Cicuapa Hazy IPA. read more
