I don't usually post reviews, but I really wanted to give a shoutout to the amazing staff at Lucky Lou's (Dana Park location). We came in with our family and three kids and sat on the patio since we were a larger group. After eating, our kids were sitting in chairs near our table, chatting and moving around a bit. They weren't being loud or disruptive, but a nearby a couple clearly seemed upset. The woman was shaking her head and saying to the waitress "this isn't okay to be doing while people are eating", pointing toward our kids. Once I realized this, I immediately called my kids back over and had them sit with us, and I even let her know that if something was bothering her, she could've told us and I would have addressed it right away. The couple chose to ignore us and left shortly after. The manager then came out and reassured us that Lucky Lou's is a family-friendly restaurant and that our kids were absolutely fine. That meant a lot to us and really showed how supportive and understanding the staff is. I also hope one day that couple realizes how hard it is to keep a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old sitting at a table for more than 30 minutes without shoving an iPad in front of them. On top of that, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I honestly had the best burger and tater tots of my life. I think this is the first review where I was like "man I didn't get any photos of the food" American Kitchen indeed! The burgers are freaking INCREDIBLE! American diner but leveled up and modern. The beer battered fries are delish and the ranchhhhh so fresh!!! We got the bean dip as an appetizer and it was great-we topped with ground beef. Service was GREAT. We came to Lucky Lou's to spend time with a long time friend of ours. We came here on a Sunday and no matter how busy they were they seated us pretty quickly at our table. It is a good thing they have a big variety of dishes to order. For me I was feeling a cheese burger and I actually enjoyed my burger. Others ordered a steak and chicken fried steak. All dishes looked pretty good but on this day I was the burger guy. Not a large place but has ample seating for customers. They do have a bar if that is what you are looking for. Today we just wanted to eat and visit and chat. This place is located on Val Vista Road south of Highway 60. I would recommend this place if you are in the area. I feel Lucky I stopped into Lucky Lou's!I was going to go somewhere else but stopped here on last minute. I sat at the bar, clean and well maintained. I ended up ordering the Pastrami and Swiss on a fresh roll with fresh fries with ice tea. Pastrami is cut in house, thin and yummy! Now the service was great for me although I watched a server fill a few beers then wipe down the side of the beer glasse from top to bottom with their hand, then whipped it on their apron 3 different occasions. First time at this Lucky Lou location. Service was great. Large menu selection. It's a bit smaller than the other 2 locations on Power Road and also Queen Creek. I ordered the ribeye steak with sides of pasta salad and potato salad. Baked potato was not on menu. Friends had cheese burger with onion rings and chicken fried steak with beans and mashed potato. Unfortunately Lucky Lou's was a no for me. I appreciate how many options they had on their menu but unfortunately the food, the vibe and the service just weren't there. Total no frills establishment where you seat yourself, they have a dog friendly patio (so they get an additional star for me) however it was chilly and we had to ask several times for them to turn on the heaters which barely work. The food was overall greasy and flavorless the fries unfortunately tasted like old cooking oil. Sadly a pass for me and my family. read more

Came here for lunch because one of contractor I know said they have amazing shrimp bucket (well the one at Power and McDowell) figure same restaurant but they didn't have shrimp basket. Menu had pretty good selections but I noticed some of the dishes had extra add on cost. Ordered wings since I was craving wings. So if I want grilled that cost extra, if I want just one kind of wing that is extra. So i ordered 14 pieces and asked if I could do half and half on the wing sauce. Nope.. I can get em plain and get two different sauce. So then I decided to get the wings with Nashville hot and side of mango habanero. My friend ordered standard lunch cheese burger. Food came and my wings looked and tasted pretty good. Nashville hot was not hot but it was pretty good. Mango habanero was sweet but did not have any heat. Fries were nice and crispy. Burger on the other hand was very plain Jane nothing special burger. When the check came waistess let me know they initially charged me for mango habanero but she took it off the bill, that was nice of her. Server was nice and very attentive. Over all food was ok, nothing special. Maybe they have good deals on happy hour food or something but then I don't really drink so I guess I won't be returning. read more

we stopped in to this location last night for the first time and it did not disappoint! this location has some seating inside as well as a patio outside. we decided to sit up at the bar. the service was amazing! shoutout to our server drew, he was so friendly and kind. and the rest of the staff were super great as well! as for the food - SO good!! i love the variety of items they offer here; it was hard to choose what to get! we ended up getting the pierogies (which were so delicious some of the best piergoies i've had.) and then for our entree, we got the high roller burger (bbq sauce, cheese, onion rings) and that was amazing! super tasty!! we are absolutely coming back! i would highly recommend if you haven't been before! such a cute diner concept with amazing food and great service! thank you lucky lou's! read more

LOVE this place. I try to get something new each time that I go in here. The staff is great. We have been here probably 20 times and it's always just really great, the food is always good and that makes it hard to try something new. The place is like a diner and is always very clean. First time here & we decided to since our usual haunt is Nando's, which we found out is closed Mondays, so Kristy suggested this since she & her husband love it. I'm glad we came. Very good service, big portions of food (I ended up taking the rest of mine home), perfect ambiance even with sports on the tvs, & our waitress was super cool! Kristy got a burger & sweet potato fries, while I got the Ralo's Mac & Cheese & Kristy took home an order of that for Jon! Very good choices! She also had a lemonade & I had Coke Zero. I struggle to write a review of this place because my only grip is that it's always busy and I'm not sure I want more people going there. I have only been to the Mesa location but, have been there numerous times, not quite regular status though. The food is always good and the service is ALWAYS incredible. It's like all the employees pay attention to everyone, not just their table. Pierogies are delicious. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant smelled so good. I had a one time craving for a hamburger but I wanted something small so I asked for the hamburger off the kid's menu. I was told NO because they enforced the age limit. It's a disappointment when I go to a restaurant I am told NO. I would recommend they sell a petite hamburger then for people that just want a little bit. They sell Coke products. read more

I've been to other Lucky Lou's locations and this one didn't disappoint either. I went with my favorite the buffalo chicken salad. Probably not healthy at all because it tastes so good, but I convince myself otherwise because it's a salad. Also we shared some mozzarella sticks because those are also always really good. The chicken in the chicken alfredo was chewy. The pastrami was way too salty and the french dip was very dry. I couldn't even eat the french dip. I sent it back and they only took off a few dollars because I ate some of the sandwich. Would not recommend this place to anyone ever read more

We chose this joint because our grandson wanted a milkshake to go with his dinner and the reviews were positive. My diet requires soft food right now so I opted for The Whaler, a fish sandwich. It was lightly crisp and delish! Grandson chose a loaded chicken quesadilla and loved it. The salsa was too spicy but tasted great. Husband had chicken fried chicken which was just okay. Needed mashed potatoes and salt. The chocolate milkshake, the strawberry milkshake, and the root beer float were all excellent. I gave Lucky Lou's a 4-star due to lack of service. It got busy after we ordered and although the food came out relatively quick, we asked repeatedly for take home containers and we finally walked out leaving food on the table as no one returned once they received our payment. We've been here twice now and have had a wonderful experience both times. Lucky Lou's has an old diner feel with a just a slightly elevated style of diner food. I've had both the California Chicken wrap and the Nashville Chicken sandwich. The Nashville Chicken, while delicious, is not a hot chicken sandwich...so don't order if you're expecting that, the flavor is wonderful though. This building used to be an old CPK restaurant. It gives the vibe of a diner. The menu is large and "diner-ish." salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta entrees, milk shakes & sweets. Three of us dined here. The server was very friendly & when asked, she told us her favorites. Steak on a stick: nicely flavored, but a bit dry. No sauce, so I dipped in ketchup. Not the best. Super impressed, great quality food, filling and at a reasonable price considering your getting quality. The food is fresh and tasty. Their motto is"eat better and feel the difference" I love it. We stopped it for dinner last night. Our first visit to this restaurant after driving by for a couple of months. Restaurant was super clean inside and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu had a nice selection of meals. And the prices were reasonable also! I ordered a cup of the French onion soup and it was really tasty. Our friends ordered the fried pickles and they were not the pickle chips but like pickle slices. They were very good and the batter was perfectly done. My wife ordered the French dip sandwich with sweet potato fries and I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with tater tots. Everything was delicious. I would say the only thing that could have been a little bit better about my meal was if the tater tots were cooked just a little longer. I kept hearing how amazing Lucky Lou's was, so we had to try It! Now I want to be as kind as I can because the service was GREAT, staff was GREAT but the atmosphere was a little drab.. The menu looked like it had lots of great items to choose from, so we decided to do the boneless wings with fries and the Royal flush and fries! We split everything so we could both try each item! When it came out everything looked great!!! The wings had great flavor, and the burger was good but the bottom bun was so soggy from the mushroom juice from the top of the burger so that was really disappointing because it was a great tasting burger just soggy bun killed it a little. I ordered the fish sandwich and it was ok not delicious. My side was Mac and cheese. IT WAS KRAFT!!! $21 lunch so not worth it.

I thought it had a weird smell. Cleaning solution hopefully, but it was unpleasant. Pierogis to start off were probably the best part of the meal. My blackened chicken sandwich was decent at best. The burgers my buddies had were just ok. The onion rings were pretty good. Service was friendly and quick. I am not sure if I would come back though.
