Saw this place on tik tok and had to give it a try! This place looks like a typical bar situated in a shopping plaza. The hostess was great and super quick in getting us over to our table. Our server/service in general was incredible. Our server explained the menu in depth and gave several recommendations. We tried the Bam Bam wing, fried pickles, smokehouse burger and wings. We loved the Bam Bam wing, regular wings and fried pickles. The burger was not my favorite but I think it's a personal preference it was multiple patties and super meat heavy for me. Will definitely be back to try more menu items, if you are a Michigan Native you will enjoy they sell Faygo and Better made chips. read more

I feel like this was the hostesses first job. IJS I asked for sprites for the kids, & she brought them out in styrofoam cups with NO lids. Bad move for little people ma'am. After asking for covers and straws, I couldn't even get the straw down inside the bottom of the cups bc there was so much ice! Even broke the cups trying! Never did get a new cup. Hubby and I only received straws once the food came out and we'd asked again for straws. Later she brought us the wrong pizza, which she should've known better bc we'd just sat down, & NONE of the other food was ready. We didn't know, so we happily shared the pizza amongst the children only to realize the mix up after they told us it came with sausage (that you could barely see on the pizza). Oh well. They didn't charge us for the extra topping. Reading other reviews, & yeah, the $17 "[sun devil] burger didn't even come with fries!" It was fire tho, & they even had vegan cheese for me, which was a plus. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was so messy and delicious, and it hit the spot! No fries was a bummer tho. Ordered some for extra??? They have happy hour from 2-6 everyday with $1 off all drinks during that time. We didn't have any. Hubby didn't like the Nashville spicy wings. He was just expecting them to be hotter, & they weren't spicy at all. When we left, I was surprised to see a kitchen full of employees, especially with how slow the service was. After seeing this place on social media I wanted to come check it out. We started out with the pretzel bites. These had to the worst pretzel bites we've ever had, they were over cooked and covered in grease created a puddle at the bottom of the basket. They tasted like old oil and funnel cake. I got the "9th best ranked burger in the country" the Sun devil burger I'm not sure who's really rating this because it was very very disappointing. Canned jalapeños, canned chilies the smell of it made me not want to eat it and had to cover it in ranch to even be able to take a bite. You'd think for a burger rated so high they would at least have fresh ingredients on it. My husband got the buffalo wings which were extremely dry and overcooked. I also got a side of sweet potato tots and he got a side of French fries which probably would of been good if they weren't cooked in the same old oil with the lingering taste of funnel cake.... My husband also got a bam bam wing and actually said they were good and not over cooked and should have just stuck to those. I am really sad because I had high hopes for this place but it just did not meet any expectations. The service wasn't bad and staff were friendly. The place smelled of cleaner which was really throwing me off as well. Unfortunately will not be back because not only was it extremely underwhelming the prices we outrageous. I can't wait to eat my way down this menu with every return trip. The service was excellent! The drinks make you want to belly up to the bar and stay awhile. That was one of the best burgers I've had since I've lived here. I had the Smokehouse burger while my boyfriend opted for the Big Mack burger and a Detroit Coney. Great place for an authentic Detroit Coney dog. Being a Michigander we think we know a few things about Coney dogs. Met the owner who came out to greet his customers and chat. Nice touch I might add. The Dog was awesome had a little snap to it as it should and the coney sauce was pretty epic. My only hit came in the bun as to why it didn't get 5 stars. Bun was over steamed as it was somewhat hard when it came out. The hand cut fries were some of the best I can remember and was evident when the basket was empty. The sliders are almost the size of a normal burger, so we had quite a bit of food. Fried zucchini was perfect, and the spicy dip was even better. Tried the Gilbert location of Detroit Coney Grill and had a really pleasant experience. It's definitely bar food with a Detroit focus, and the menu leans into that in a good way. The atmosphere is interesting. It still carries a little of the polished feel from the wine bar that used to be in that space, but now it's sharing the room with a full sports bar setup. It has wine bar energy that decided to loosen its tie and watch the game. We ordered wings, the cheesy Sun Devil patty, a Detroit coney dog, and onion rings. The wings came out hot and crispy and were honestly so good. The Sun Devil patty was spicy and cheesy in the best way. The meat is done smash style, which is just sooo good. I'm not usually a hot dog person, but I tried a bite of the coney and it was tasty. The chili was good, though I personally would not mind a little more punch or spice to it. The setup makes it really easy to watch a game, with TVs over the bar and throughout the main bar area. There is also an outdoor patio which is always a plus. One thing that made me raise my brows, the super chilled fridge behind the bar with bottles like Jäger and Fireball, and what surprised me most was a bottle of limoncello. Like what?! Overall a solid spot for good bar food and watching a game. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. I'd love to see a pool table or two in there. I tend to find new places to eat by watching videos on Instagram, and I had been wanting to try this spot for a while since I saw multiple people claiming they have the best burgers around. We ordered a burger and two appetizers -- pretzels with cheese and mozzarella sticks. Where do I start? The pretzels and cheese tasted like they were microwaved, and for a walk-in dine-in restaurant, serving the cheese in a tiny plastic sauce cup was off-putting. The cheese was hot, the cup was starting to melt, and I was worried about potentially consuming some of the melting plastic. The mozzarella sticks seemed store-bought and simply tossed in the deep fryer, rather than handmade. I was most excited for the burger because the Instagram videos made it look dripping with sauce and amazing. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming -- there was hardly any sauce. I asked for a little extra, and unbeknownst to me, they charged an additional dollar for a tiny amount of sauce, which felt disappointing since the burger is advertised as "saucy and drippy." Came here after seeing the husband from the husband and wife law team say it's the best burger in Arizona and it's got me thinking that Learner and Rowe is the way to go if I ever need an attorney. The seats were surprisingly really squishy and made me feel like a little kid, but after a beer or two, I didn't care anymore. I ordered a beer I had never heard of and when I asked if it was orange flavor, the server seemed unsure but didn't offer to let me test it. Thankfully it was delicious! This little spot is legit, they have great food, great beer, and really great service. Seems like a clean place and the patio is pretty big! The servers were super sweet and bartender was really chill and greeted us as soon as we walked in. Our servers (I can't remember names I'm sorry!) were super helpful in what we should order and even gave recommendations. I got the classic cheeseburger sliders and my boyfriend got the cowboy sliders. They were both really yummy, we also shared some pretzel bites as an appetizer which was good. The potato skins were really small & I wasn't a fan of the nacho cheese on them. They we're not crispy at all. The coney dog was small & hubby said the coney sauce had no flavor. The onion rings were okay, but nothing special. The little Mac was small. I thought it would be the size of a regular Big Mac , but just with 2 patties instead of 4. It was okay, but nothing special. My fries were soggy. The boneless wings & loaded tots were okay. We all have no reason to go back. The owner needs to hire a bartender & not have the server making drinks. It was not a good customer experience. Turn the A/C up. It's hotter than hell right now & no one wants to be sweating while eating dinner. Horrible service, hot restaurant & okay food. No thank you! I recently saw a Facebook ad for this restaurant and being from Michigan and working downtown Detroit for many years I asked my wife to join me Friday and try a dinner there. We walked in and greeted set down and waitress took our drink order. Shortly after the owner walked through the restaurant asking tables if everything was satisfactory. I thought, this is nice! Attentive staff nice atmosphere. We browsed the menu and decided on our selection. My wife loves fried pickles and they were on the menu so that would be the appetizer. We chatted, we finished our drink and I paused and was like, it's been 20 to 30 minutes and no waitress to take our food order or even to offer another drink! Tried to get some attention from the waitress but not found.. finally I got the bus boy (I think) he was cleaning the table next to us and I asked if he could get our check as my wife and I decided if it takes longer than 20 minutes to order we were not going to wait another 20 minutes to get food. The waitress showed up and was like so sorry we are busy! Busy? There was only 6 tables of 4 people each! It's not a huge place and less than a third of capacity full. We informed her we were unhappy and would like to pay our bill and call it quits for this restaurant. She gave us $0.50 off our 2 $6.50 draft beers and we left. Another thing I would like to mention was there was a large black GMC Denali pickup parked in the first parking spot by the door with window stickers saying Detroit Bar and Grill. My wife says if that's the owners truck it's a real dick move to take the prime parking spot over customers. I know when I worked at public serving places we were always told as employees park in the back, prime parking is for customers. I would like to try their food one day just not too excited anytime soon. There are so many great restaurants in Chandler you really have to have a great place to make it here. We popped in on a Sunday after running some errands. I got a Southwest Coney, a $7 Mexican Mule Cinco de Mayo drink special, and shared an appetizer of fried zucchini. Everything was tasty and good. The Mexican Mule went down smooth as all weekend boozy bevs do. The Southwest Coney had chili, cheddar, hatch chile, onion, and mustard, Anytime hatch chile is offered, I got to get it. As for fried zucchini, superb! I wish I had a Mule and some fried zucchini right now. Detroit Coney Grill is a great addition to this community. There's ample seating, plenty of televisions that play sports, and the bartenders are charming. I will definitely think about this place if I feel like watching sports with some friends without having to host. read more

This place had recently opened and had been wanting to try. It was formerly Mr Zekes Restaurant. Came in, in the afternoon around 1:30 PM on Saturday. They weren't too busy, but seemed to be finishing up with a few parties that were there after a baseball tournament. Two servers staffed and what looked to be two to three kitchen employees working in the back. We are greeted fairly quickly by the female server who told us our server would be right with us. That took some time, so she got our drink orders in. Eventually, the male server came to take our order. After reviewing the menu, we opted to go with their boneless wings (a dozen) instead of their traditional at $21.96 which was way too pricey in our opinion. We also ordered the house cut fries. Sauce we chose for the wings was honey hot with a side of their Nashville (to try). The wings were mediocre at best. No side veggies included. The chicken still tasted of the freezer flavor even through the fry stage and a few were either over done or re-fried (tuff). The honey hot was average & the Nashville by no means was that a Nashville style sauce. It was more like a peppery steak sauce, yet unusually unique- but definitely not a sauce for chicken. Fries were just ok. Many tv's surround the space as a sports bar atmosphere. Enjoyed catching a basketball game while dining. That said; what we didn't care for was the strong smell of marijuana. We caught drift of it after one of the male (back staffed) employees from the kitchen came back in from going out front and walking back to the kitchen. Just a few seconds after that, he came walking directly behind us on his way to use the restroom. It was evident & overwhelming. We also took note at his unkept appearance as well, which really made for a more negative experience. Our server seemed somewhat shy and somewhat slow. Pleasant when we tried to engage with him, but just was not on top of things overall. The female server seemed to be more interested in her phone on the floor than the half eaten hamburgers that remained near us to the inside of the bar from the time we arrived until just before we left. Definitely a slow & mellow vibe here- literally! Will not be a place we will return which is kinda a bummer cause their burger options looked pretty good. My boys have been to their location (years ago) in Tempe and said they're decent! May have to try them to see if it's any better, but this location we will for sure pass on in the future. read more

We had never tried this place and decided to DoorDash it on a Sunday afternoon. I never thought I'd review a delivery so failed to take a picture. The BEST burger I've ever had. It was the Sun Devil. It was juicy with no gristle. Perfect flavors with the Swiss, aioli, onions, jalapeños and delicious green chilies. Came in and immediately noticed a sewer smell. We dined with our 4 year old not sure if this is why they sat us in the back room by ourselves. The main room was lively but we were sat alone by the managers laptop and Dunkin iced coffee. Server promptly greeted and got drinks in but straws took 10 minutes. As far as the menu- everything basically starts at $12. We ordered the sun devil burger, cowboy burger, side salad and side of tater tots. Our son got the kids meal with a hot dog. Our son did not like the hotdog and said it tasted "crunchy". The server let us know the hot dogs are wrapped in sheep skin- that's why they're thicker skinned. Either way- our kid didn't like it. Great new little sports bar that took over the Zekes space at the corner of Warner Road and S. Island Dr. Nice menu of hot dogs, burgers, and sandwiches with a few salads thrown in. There's also an extensive burger and dogs, "to go" combo items if you prefer take-out. Service was great we were seated right away and our server was quick to come over and take our drink choices. There's a ton of TV screens in here all showing something different so it takes a minute to kinda get settled in. I opted for a bowl of their famous chili and the "Hani" Pita sandwich. My friend ordered a burger, and while my chili was darn good, looking at his burger made me wish I had ordered it. Big juicy and fresh. The pita was also quite good. Everything was fresh and hot Because of all the TVs and the nature of it being a sports bar, it's not a place for a quiet conversation.
