A very cute, old-school diner serving classic hamburgers. The burgers were exactly as advertised, GIANT, and made fresh. My favorite part were the perfectly crispy French fries. I am a pickle girlie and yesss those pickles were HUGEEE - a fun surprise. Everything was cooked right in front of us by the sweetest old chef, which made the whole experience feel homey. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries, and a large soda for $33. The pies looked amazing too, but we were way too full to try them - maybe next time! Overall, a really solid burger spot. You order and pay at the counter, then grab any open seat. They take card as well. I also liked how they had a variety of sauces, my favorite the hot mustard. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving burgers!

Very fresh burgers, cooked right in front of you. It takes a lil while since they are cooked so fresh. Delicious fries. Burger was so big you must share with someone, I got the cheeseburger added bacon Chili is ok. *Takes you back in time to a really old school diner. Only complaint was it was a little warm in the restaurant. It's a small space, but when you go in for lunch etc you want to escape the PHX heat. We got 3 meals for $23 GREAT PRICES

GIANT cheeseburger, grilled onions and pickles with fry's. Soooooo good.

Wow, can't believe it's been two years since an update. Still love this place. One of the best small locally owned burger + joints around. Great for breakfast, pies and shakes. Just plain our live this place. Doug and Cesar are still here and the help they have (Rachel) are wonderful. Put this place on your list as a must visit. The place is clean and all food is made to order. Like I said in an earlier post, it's kind of like Bobs burgers from TV. Thanks crew, you are great!

Tucked away in a strip mall this quaint diner offers a nostalgic 50's diner experience. If you are looking for fast food quick service, this is not your place. We were greeted at the counter by a nice gentleman who was humorous and friendly. Our order was served tableside and delivered hot and fresh. From the first bite to the last we enjoyed crisp iceberg lettuce, juicy tomatoes and a perfectly cooked patty. The fries were nicely seasoned. They do not have Coke Zero . Restaurant was a little warm and got busy after we got there. We will definitely be back.

The best burger I've had in AZ! Everything is always fresh, customer service is always amazing, I love the topping options, the malt shakes, homemade pies. A true hidden gem!! My best friend showed me this place years ago and I show all my friends from out of town!

We arrived for breakfast and the place was packed. Even so, we were seated within a few minutes. Menus were brought for us to peruse. For a starter we both had a large glass of cranberry juice. $3. Emphasis should be on the word large, as in most places you would get a small glass for the same price. Companion ordered the "Fresh Start", which is a big bowl of oatmeal which comes with cranberries, raisins, walnuts, brown sugar, and milk ($6). Companion was unable to finish it all. For myself, I had the Hawaiian omelet which had ham, bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese. While I must admit I have never before had an omelet with these ingredients, it was delicious and big. I could not finish it all. The coffee was bottomless and the service was excellent. Unlike many other places that serve breakfast, we were made to feel truly at home, with friendly people all around. We will be going back again and again, possibly for lunch next time. This is a new favorite place to eat for us. Sanitation was good and food came out quickly. 5 stars.

We have been curious…read moreabout this place ever since we stopped and talked to the person seating people while we were waiting for our reservation across the street. He mentioned a pickle martini, which I ordered at lunch and was very good. My wife ordered the welcome burger and enjoyed it except for them getting the toppings wrong. Our granddaughter really liked her mac and cheese and there was a generous serving of sliced fruit. And my Jose Burger had just enough spice and was very tasty. That what's the good. So we stopped here for lunch on a Friday about 12:30 with our 3-year-old granddaughter. Our initial server barely said two words to us and we felt like we were an imposition. When we ordered my wife asked did they have Pepsi or Coke products he said we have bottles and cans of everything, so she ordered a Coke. It was Mexican Coke which is fine, but $5, and it wasn't until we noticed other people had cans of regular Coke and realized he did not give us a choice. When we ordered our burgers, again he barely said two words and did not ask us how we wanted them cooked even though the menu says cook to order. When we got them they were very rare, see the picture, which we're okay with although we would have ordered them a little more done. My wife said no onions on hers, and of course there was onions on her berger. Later we were served by a waitress who was much more friendly and we realize was probably just not there yet when we sat down, so the initial waiter didn't really care what we thought since we weren't going to be his customers at the end. So sadly what could have been a very pleasant lunch was spoiled by the initial waiter, even though the food was good we may not be back.

Slow on a SUNDAY post-winter visitor rush on a late Spring day. Rushed. I pointed to my 3-6pm dinner choice of TURKEY. I showed her. "Just as it comes. She repeated it back to me as she typed in into her handheld computer. Chicken fried steak arrived. And a sausage looking oval patty shape of stuffing. Two long finger prints in it. I wondered if she picked up my loose stuffing as it's normally served here in America, or rather the chef did this to all who request it. I told my husband to look for spit in his food. My hubby? Nicest guy ever. But when he knows I didn't want and could not manage fried beef..but I had fasted 21 hours. I needed sliced fresh high protein meat. Wait another 15 min or eat the mess on my plate? I went with the corned beef hash + pancakes breakfast, and it delivered that old-school diner energy. The hash was hearty and filling, eggs cooked just right, and the pancakes? Soft, golden, and exactly what you expect--nothing fancy, just solid. But let's be clear... the real reason you come here is the pie. Village Inn doesn't play about their pies, and the banana cream pie is the headline act. Light, creamy, not overly sweet, topped with whipped cream and just enough texture to make every bite feel intentional.
