OK.. Finally decided to give this place a try. Nice cute restaurant with cool decor, and friendly staff. Note to self, Friday night I guess it's karaoke night. Don't say I didn't warn you . I didn't care to listen to the music while I was eating. Ordered fried cod fish special and chicken fried steak dinner (since they don't do breakfast). Fried fish was nice and crispy. Came with coleslaw which I thought was pretty good and fries were nothing special just crinkled fries. My chicken fried steak was decent size, nice and crispy. The mash potato and gravy was OK. Gravy could have used more seasoning, I don't ever put salt on my food but I was tempted. But mixed with fried steak balanced it out little bit. I also opted for soup of the day which was Albondiga. Soup was not quite Albondiga but it wasn't too bad. Over the atmosphere was nice minus random people singing. Food was for me just ok, lacked in flavor. I would give this place 3 and half but definitely not 4 worthy for me. I probably won't come here again.

This is my second time eating here and that makes me kinda sad because the food is always very good. I don't live right next to this place so I always forget about it. The restaurant has a home town diner kinda feel and has friendly service to match. I ordered the country fried steak with homeboy potatoes and added some biscuits and gravy because I'm fat and it makes me happy. The steak was perfectly crisp and tasted just like what you'd get if you asked your good grandmother on your mom's side to make. The homeboy potatoes were thin slices of potato with onions and peppers, they were so good I didn't need to add ketchup on anything. The biscuits were light and fluffy and paired nicely with the sausage gravy. This restaurant is probably underrated an overlooked. I would definitely add this to your regular dining list.

The food is good and the service is great. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners today and he was great. Will definitely be back

Amazing all the way around. It had a welcome home feel. The ambiance was comfortable and the food was excellent. Didn't have the breakfast buffet but oh my gosh I really wanted to. It all looked delicious. I went with the green Paźole, not a topping was lacking. The waitress was polite and the owner was very friendly. The water was very refreshing and the iced tea was fresh. Everyone was very welcoming. We will be back.

Service was fast and the food came out hot and delicious. This is a cute place with a nice vibe to it. Staff made sure our drinks were never empty and an asked several times if we needed anything. We will definitely be back to try the Sunday breakfast buffet.

Homemade sloppy Joe and tots!

We arrived for breakfast and the place was packed. Even so, we were seated within a few minutes. Menus were brought for us to peruse. For a starter we both had a large glass of cranberry juice. $3. Emphasis should be on the word large, as in most places you would get a small glass for the same price. Companion ordered the "Fresh Start", which is a big bowl of oatmeal which comes with cranberries, raisins, walnuts, brown sugar, and milk ($6). Companion was unable to finish it all. For myself, I had the Hawaiian omelet which had ham, bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese. While I must admit I have never before had an omelet with these ingredients, it was delicious and big. I could not finish it all. The coffee was bottomless and the service was excellent. Unlike many other places that serve breakfast, we were made to feel truly at home, with friendly people all around. We will be going back again and again, possibly for lunch next time. This is a new favorite place to eat for us. Sanitation was good and food came out quickly. 5 stars.

We had to wait a bit to get seated. I decided to try their biscuit and gravy with bacon and 2 eggs over easy. The bacon was kinda chewy with unrendered fat which was a turnoff. Even bigger disappointment was the biscuits and gravy. The gravy tasted so odd and off putting and the biscuits were huge but very dry and fell apart. Had a bite of hubby's French toast and it was the worst I've ever had. If they weren't so busy I probably would have mentioned something to the server but really wasn't in the mood. Still love the theme of this restaurant but the food was a major letdown today. Service was not the greatest probably due to how busy it was.

Since 2016, this non-profit diner has been directly supporting homebound cancer patients through sponsored meals. The menu is deep, and the food is incredible! I ordered the chilaquiles which were a delightful offering of crispy tortilla chips covered in earthy red chili, topped with a velvety poached egg, on a bed of hearty pinto beans that had a hint of cumin, all which was drizzled with a rich crema and crumbled queso fresco. My dad had the Rueben and he said it was in his top-three he's ever had! We finally decided to try the diner, and oh my goodness--this is no substandard food kitchen. This is top-notch food at reasonable prices and for a great cause. You can't go wrong! We arrived on a Sunday at their new location, which is super nice, VW bus and all. :) While relatively small, it is many times larger than their old location around the corner. You can sit inside at a table, at the bar, or at one of the few patio tables on a nice day. We sat inside for this first visit, and a friendly server took our order. We chose to order from the breakfast menu, and I ordered The Camper: Crispy double-dipped fried chicken thigh smothered in savory gravy and topped with cheese, three slices of Nueske's peppered bacon, and an over-easy egg, served on a housemade butter biscuit. My wife ordered the CSA Scramble: Farm-fresh veggies from Crooked Sky Farms CSA basket scrambled with three eggs, served with fruit, sliced tomato, and 9-grain toast. Needless to say, we were both impressed. The Camper was absolutely perfect. I would not change a thing. The gravy was just special, and there was so much food, I took some home. I went with the corned beef hash + pancakes breakfast, and it delivered that old-school diner energy. The hash was hearty and filling, eggs cooked just right, and the pancakes? Soft, golden, and exactly what you expect--nothing fancy, just solid. But let's be clear... the real reason you come here is the pie. Village Inn doesn't play about their pies, and the banana cream pie is the headline act.
