My family from Iowa came down to visit so I picked a couple breakfast restaurants and one of them just happened to be Mickey D's. Some of us had pancakes. Some of us said omelettes and they said the omelettes were so big they almost had to take the other half home. Great little place reminded them of Home. Located on Apache Trail (Old West Highway) in Apache Junction, this restaurant is a favorite amongst the locals. It was my first time trying this place & I went with a large group from my neighborhood. Right away upon entering, I felt like I was in a downhome environment. The staff greeted us with smiles & we all got situated at our tables. The waitresses got our drink orders, brought those out & took our meal orders. I ordered the South of the Border omelette with wheat toast. Very, very good! If you're an omelette connoisseur, you will love this dish! 3/18/25 Ladies Group Reservations 5/5 This review is for the reservations for My Wife's ladies group of 20 which was made a month in advance for the large group room in the back. The room reserved previously hosted a very large Red Friday group I attended in the past. Ambiance 3/5 The big room doesn't have the same Country Charm as the main dining room, However; it does have the capacity for large parties like today. Wait Staff 5/5 Nicole & Christie were the servers assigned for lunch today and did an outstanding job taking care of everything! Food 5/5 The group was extremely satisfied with their food and the kitchen got the orders out so the group could eat together. Kudos to Nicole, Kristie and the Kitchen! Fair prices, great for breakfast. This place gets super packed but there are lots of tables. Our servers were great. Kind of a clunky paying process. Wait in line with the cashier adds up everything, which takes a while, then asks if you want to tip. Of course we do! But the cashier (man) doesn't give you the percentage option so my concern here is the servers may be getting shorted. Biscuits and gravy were great. Ham steak and eggs ($11.99) good too. When I started my job in December 2023 across the street from MD's Cafe, being a foodie, I noticed that the parking lot is full every morning! So, naturally I looked it up on Yelp. The chicken fried steak was highly rated. So, I decided to treat myself to this comfort dish that is enough for two meals for me!! It's topped with a hearty homestyle gravy, 2 eggs, a side of hash browns, and toast. I decided every anniversary of my employment I will treat myself and each year, it's always as yummy as I remember. Mickey D's is an Apache Junction institution. Known for their great service and awesome breakfast (and lunch) and they do not disappoint. The place is much larger than it appears from the street so even with a full parking lot they can accommodate. The decor is quaint, small town cafe as you would expect. Service is really exceptional. Plenty of staff to run the operation smoothly and efficiently and VERY friendly. Again, small town feel and refreshing. Lastly, the food. From omelettes to pancakes to biscuits and gravy it's all really good. And the prices are so reasonable. I had biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs, hash browns, 4 pieces of bacon - all for $12.99. Saw a cockroach fall from the ceiling out of the vent onto servers T-shirt. After that, I lost my appetite. At this point, I decided to leave the restaurant and pay my bill. I looked up at the vent and saw another cockroach in the same area of the ceiling from where the first cockroach was. I told the server about it when I was leaving and she said they were just water roaches and that they just sprayed. These water roaches were huge in size which tells me they've been there for a while I would never go back and eat at this place. read more

CUTE! Truly classic diner style. One big room. Definitely appeals to "seasoned" adults! Clean. Prompt friendly staff. Big fluffy pancakes! The cook nailed "over medium" which is actually hard to do! Eggs Benedict was delish. Sausage links were huge and tasty! I got fruit instead of potatoes and it was canned fruit cocktail... but it's a diner so.... I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which cost $11.99 and my wife ordered eggs with pancakes. My son got the French Toast. I have to say, this was the best Chicken Fried Steak by far!!! Horrible experience. I ordered eggs benedict, and it was so bad I couldn't eat it. Even the home fries were bad! How can you screw up potatoes? They obviously used packaged mix for the hollandaise sauce. Our server did not return to the table, so we went to the cashier to let her know. She refused to remove the charge, even though I hadn't eaten it. She told me I should have told the server. What difference does it make who I tell? I need to follow your unwritten rules? OK, I'm a resident all year round resident of Apache Junction since 2008. I've been going to this restaurant ever since the other day my wife and I went out to have breakfast and we got in there. Everything was normal. We ordered a grilled cheese with french fries The grilled cheese had barely any cheese at all. They changed their french fries which were horrible compared to the other ones. My omelette was OK but then they went skimpy on the potatoes.then we notice that they raised the prices on everything over like $1.50 and we notice this because we have been since 2008. This is sad because this was my favorite restaurant. It was like a treat for me to go to this place And then now we probably won't go and unfortunately I know nothing's gonna be done because they've got captive audience when the snowbirds come out and they'll pay anything sad and an unfortunate news. read more

The good: The Tuna Melt was outstanding. The fries were nicely seasoned and very hot. The wife liked her chicken fried steak, which she said was very tender and not overly breaded. Portion sizes were generous and the waitress was very nice and had a great sense of humor. The restroom was clean. The bad: the waitress was hard to nail down for an extra napkin request and the salt shaker was covered in jelly. The chili wasn't great. There was plenty of meat in it but it was over flavored with chili seasoning. The primary downside though was the noise. We're sitting in the back which was just full of little kids, and the screaming and running children made it nearly impossible to hold a conversation. It was great that the waitress gave them attention but not so much that their parents didn't stop them from sprinting around the dining room area the entire time we were there. I have nothing against taking your kids out to eat, but that doesn't mean the entire restaurant is their baby sitter while you ignore them. I would certainly lay go back for the food, but will ask to be seated up front in the main dining area next time. read more

I read that in the past, Micky Ds was a great place to eat breakfast, lunch or supper. We ate there Sunday afternoon with my husband's barbershop Chorus and the food was nasty, horrible!!! Excellent, amazing and terrific all rolled into one. Kelly took great care of us. We were greeted instantly upon entering and sat within seconds. The food is piping hot and tastes great. The presentation on the plate is spot on, not slopped together. This restaurant is always neat and very clean. Despite the tasteful decor and homely atmosphere, it doesn't feel cluttered like other cafes. There are genuine human beings working here, not just mechanical employees reciting a script. I went for breakfast with my parents, and even though it was VERY crowded, we were seated promptly and got our food much faster than expected. They have a large menu of all the diner favorites, and there was such friendly people there. They are good about refills for coffee. My parents are regulars, and I can definitely see why. read more

My family and I went to Mickey Ds yesterday morning and were seated pretty promptly despite the crowded dining room. The service from the start was better than any previous time I've been there. I wish I reneged the name of our server but she was checking on us constantly and made sure everything was perfect. Our coffee was refilled many times and our dirty dishes were cleared by a gentleman named Rams as soon as E were done. Great job by all at Mickey Ds. I absolutely love going here every weekend for breakfast especially after church. I owe Ramsey an apology and a thank you. I have been there for over two years and had great experiences especially with Brooke or Becky. Who work the front. The few times we sat in the back the service was not as good That being said two weeks ago I went there to meet my friends and family only to be tots Brooke was on vacation and it would be a while for Becky. So grace ( the sweet girl I was badgering how much I didn't want to sit in the back. But she was very nice and kind to this old man. So I decided to take her advice to try it cuz the server working that day would take good care of us. Big thanks to her Kristina took fantastic care of us. I had to apologize to Grace and Kristina for assuming the worst. My apologies. We went back today and I first asked for our normal brook or Becky when I saw Kristina and remembered how great she was so asked to go to the back. Kristina was so happy to help us even though she had just been bombarded with a group if 47. Yikes. Again we were just well taken care of with a big smile and quick service. First time here. Already not happy. We haven't tried the food yet! We were waiting in front to be seated.even in line. We were next and there was a couple behind us with his wife in a wheelchair. Becky very rude!!!! Looked passed us and ask the couple behind us if they were next... She should of asked who is next. Like we didnt matter even thou we were in line first and already been here for over 10 minutes before the couple behind us. My husband is mexican and i am filipino hawaiian.
