Steak and egg special - A breakfast meal featuring eggs, roasted potatoes, sausage, and orange slices on a checkered plate at Black Bear Diner, with a side of pancake and syrup.

I've always enjoyed Black Bear diner, and the steak and egg special is worth stopping in for. The steak isn't particularly great, but it's a satisfying meal, in a nice atmosphere, with very good service. They don't complain about substitutions, which is nice. $4 for a coffee or iced tea is sort of outrageous, but that's today's prices.

Since getting here in the Phoenix area, I have been to a Black Bear Diner three times. A friend of mine recommended it and I agree with him that Black Bear Diner is a great place to eat. You get a lot of scrumptious food for your money. I've had the biscuits and gravy as well as a veggie omelet. Everything was very good. The service is also wonderful. Our servers and cashiers were always a delight to talk with. They took our order without error and brought our food out quickly. Our coffee cups were continuously topped off. I liked the ambiance. The wall decorations, the outside decorations and even the souvenir store were great. On top of that the bathroom was clean and smelled so good. Thank you to the Black Bear Diner staff for a satisfying experience here in the greater Phoenix area.

WAS chicken fried steak, 2 eggs, toast and can't eat the hash browns. Very good food!! Very good customer service!! - A breakfast setting with a mostly finished plate of hash browns and eggs, a coffee mug, hot sauce, and a drink with a receipt on a restaurant table.

Got a Southwest eggs Benedict. It was delicious. The service was fast and reliable. The ambience is very friendly. It feels like a good home meal.

Why has it taken me so long to get back here??? I made a quick stop for breakfast in the middle of my work day @blackbeardiner It smelled like home cooked breakfast in the parking lot, greeted and seated immediately, waitress was very friendly and went over some top favorites. I tried a few dishes but this stood out the most. Oversized soft fluffy biscuits, creamy savory gravy with the right amount of salt and seasoning, topped over that biscuit. Perfection! As I am eating I realize I didn't see the chicken and waffle plate on the menu and that was one that always hit for me. I'll definitely be stopping back for another brunch experience. Heck, I may just have to try dinner too. I love me some delicious comfort food! Just a cozy spot to have brunch. I love the little country stop as you walk in.

So I went to the blackbear diner this morning for breakfast ordered the Dave's omelette, which is bacon sausage ham in the in the omelette supposedly instead I got a scrambled egg taco all the ingredients spread across the top with the cheese on top of it not an omelette not even an egg taco just scrambled eggs with ingredients on top hashbrowns with cheese and up charge not gold. Coffee was good. Service was OK. The manager came over and knocked off five dollars for the piss poor omelette not sure if I'll be back. It's a mom and Pop type restaurant, as you can see the before pitcher look like it might be an omelette until I opened up the egg and found out it wasn't

Met my family here for lunch and it was my first time trying Black Bear Diner. My family has eaten here before and so I had high hopes! I ordered the tri-tip dip sandwich deluxe style with a side salad. My first bite was "ok" the meat was very tough and kinda hard to chew. The second bite I got had the deluxe grilled onions and mushrooms. The veggies instantly tasted of cleaner as if they were sitting near bleach or some sort of cleaning product. It was very hard to get down. As I moved my sandwich out of the way to take a bite of my salad there was a long black hair IN my sandwich, to which would of been my next bite. I pulled the hair out and laid it on my napkin to show the server. Upon showing her, she acted as if she wasn't surprised. All she said was "want another one"? I replied "no I'm ok". (I'm not eating anything else from this place, are you kidding me?). The most disappointing part was that she didn't say sorry, no manager came over to apologize or see if we needed anything else. The tri-tip was comp'd off the bill, obviously someone was aware of the disgusting hair, but clearly no one cared. Red flag: that's alarming. It was hard for me to decide whether to rate a 2 or 3 star review, since my family all seemed to like what they had ordered. However, after contiplating it, a two star seemed more appropriate since this was my experience. *pictures shown are of my food and my boyfriends burger. I did not take a picture of the hair, as I was disgusted and in disbelief*

Great place to have good old US comfort food. Good prices, good service, but the hostess can sometimes take a while to seat your group.

We came in with our family and three kids and sat on the patio since we were a larger group. After eating, our kids were sitting in chairs near our table, chatting and moving around a bit. They weren't being loud or disruptive, but a nearby a couple clearly seemed upset. The woman was shaking her head and saying to the waitress "this isn't okay to be doing while people are eating", pointing toward our kids. Once I realized this, I immediately called my kids back over and had them sit with us, and I even let her know that if something was bothering her, she could've told us and I would have addressed it right away. The couple chose to ignore us and left shortly after. The manager then came out and reassured us that Lucky Lou's is a family-friendly restaurant and that our kids were absolutely fine. That meant a lot to us and really showed how supportive and understanding the staff is. I also hope one day that couple realizes how hard it is to keep a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old sitting at a table for more than 30 minutes without shoving an iPad in front of them. On top of that, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I honestly had the best burger and tater tots of my life. We'll definitely be back--thank you for creating such a kid-friendly and enjoyable place for families!

We arrived for breakfast and the place was packed. Even so, we were seated within a few minutes. Menus were brought for us to peruse. For a starter we both had a large glass of cranberry juice. $3. Emphasis should be on the word large, as in most places you would get a small glass for the same price. Companion ordered the "Fresh Start", which is a big bowl of oatmeal which comes with cranberries, raisins, walnuts, brown sugar, and milk ($6). Companion was unable to finish it all. For myself, I had the Hawaiian omelet which had ham, bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese. While I must admit I have never before had an omelet with these ingredients, it was delicious and big. I could not finish it all. The coffee was bottomless and the service was excellent. Unlike many other places that serve breakfast, we were made to feel truly at home, with friendly people all around. We will be going back again and again, possibly for lunch next time. This is a new favorite place to eat for us. Sanitation was good and food came out quickly. 5 stars.

That was great considering we're a party of four plus a high chair/infant. Hubs got the green chili bacon omelet with hash browns and sourdough. Nothing special or bad, but exactly what he needed for brekkie. Son got the brunch burger - the biggest burger I have ever seen in my life. With fries. The burger is easily a 1/3-1/2 lb burger. Just massive and he was SO happy for the taste. I got the gyro omelet with egg whites, fruit and english muffin. Super yummy. Gyro meat was soft and the feta wasnt overwhelming. Daughter got the california eggs Benedict. She loved it! We also got a short stack with berries and cream for the table... left no crumbs! Lol! After all that our lovely server gave me a coffee for the road (very thoughtful and kind). After searching for 20 mins on yelp for a brunch spot and coming up with crappy options I searched for "omelets" and this spot came up. So far, we've been able to try different places during each visit. I came across Wildberries while researching breakfast spots and saw that they had good reviews. We were there on a weekday for a late breakfast. The place is popular. While they were doing a brisk business, I can only imagine what it must be like on the weekends. Upon entering, we were immediately seated and greeted. It's clear from looking at their decor and menu (they also serve lunch) that it is a Greek-owned place. They have daily specials written on a portable sign board, and they take it from table to table so diners can see what's on special that day. Our only complaint was that service was very slow. Our server took our order after we looked at the signboard. I ordered a daily breakfast special that consisted of cinnamon French toast, 2 eggs (I chose over easy), and a choice of meat (I chose bacon). My husband ordered Eggs Benedict off the regular menu. It consisted of two poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce and hash browns. To drink, I had lemonade, and my husband had orange juice and coffee. Like all the other customers, we had a long wait for food. It had us wondering if the back of the house was short-staffed. When the food finally came out, we both enjoyed our meals. The cinnamon French toast was so good on its own that I forgot about the syrup that accompanied it. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his Eggs Benedict. Wildberries is in a small strip shopping center, and parking is tight. If you are heading west on Baseline, you have to make a left at the light at S. Ext Street, then a left into the lot. On the way out, heading east, make a left out of the lot onto Baseline.

We grabbed a booth overlooking Page street and the foot traffic outside. Our server tonight was Treven who joined us table side. He had our drink and starters in quickly. My wife ordered the Lucky Penny Latte and I had iced tea. Starter was their out of this world Burrata. The photos fall short of its glory. Entrees was their memorable minestrone soup, and I ordered their sesame ginger noodle salad featuring sweet potato glass noodles which are delicious and a host of smartly paired vegetables, chicken and a pleasant ginger sriracha delivering some spice and heat without overpowering the dish itself. For desert we fell way off the wagon with their in-house carrot cake. A slice easily feeds four and we enjoyed ours with espressos.
