Salad

My wife and I had dinner here last night and, as usual, the restaurant delivered consistent quality in both food and service. They offer some very good value deals, which make it an attractive dining option. The restaurant is often frequented by seniors, creating a calm and quiet environment that we appreciate. While the décor feels a bit dated, the quality of the food and the attentive service more than make up for it. We typically order the Campfire Feast, which includes an appetizer, two entrées with two sides each, and a dessert, an excellent value. The steaks are solid, the sides are well prepared, and the salads are fresh with a wide selection of dressings to choose from. Overall, a reliable choice for a pleasant and satisfying meal.

Prime rib meal

Recently, I've added some meat back in to my diet and decided to treat myself to a meal via ubereats. It was pricey, but I was hoping for quality and great service via ubereats. Ubereats delivered early and was friendly. The prime rib and sides didn't disappoint, but the shrimp cocktail for $19.19 was only six small shrimp and they were grey & floppy at the tail. Pretty disappointed as that's what I ate first, but the baked Brie with the prime rib meal was better. I definitely won't order a shrimp cocktail from here again, and I'll probably try another steakhouse the next time I eat red meat.

Since Hubby and I are both veterans and they were serving a free Veterans Day steak meal, we decided to come here. If you've ever been debunking is, you know that it's very "cowboy out on the range" decor. It's definitely more refined than some of the peanuts on the floor kind of steakhouses. We had a reservation in were seated in a tall round booth right away. Our server was so cheerful and helpful, and our food came out very, very quickly. First they bring out a loaf of super yummy bread with butter. I'm not sure what kind it is, especially since I'm not much of a bread person, but it's dark and has oats on the outside. I love it. We both got the 6 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Everything was delicious and our steaks or cooked just as we like them, medium rare for him, and rare for me. I really like the broccoli here - - it's not simply steamed, It tastes as though there's garlic in the seasoning. We've always had a good meal at Black Angus. It's very consistent and always familiar even when you're away from home. We also really appreciate that they offer such a great benefit to veterans every Veterans Day.

Ribeye 12oz w sprouts

Went there for a good steak w the kiddo. Had Adam as our server - he's a pro. Ordered ribeyes, came out as ordered - flavorful to say the least. Sprouts and wedge salad were fantastic. Cowboy theme but not enough of that I'd say to have real theme. Had a deal with our community there so the price was reasonable. Even at price the steaks were really great.

Missing ceiling tile with exposed insulation and cold air drafting down

Wife and I went and were told wait for a table would be 20 to 25 minutes. After 45 minutes we were finally seated at a small booth right outside the kitchen. We thought the a/c was on because there was a very cold draft, hard enough blow napkins off of the table. Then we realized it was a hole in the ceiling. Our waitress and I'm sure anyone else working there could see we were cold and miserable but no one seemed to want to acknowledge it. I told our waitress there was a hole in the ceiling and her response was they couldn't do anything about it because they were waiting for insurance. I said your manager should know better. Shame on management there for seating customers in an area that should just be closed off. The temp outside was low 50s and that's about what the temp at our table was. Miserable experience.

12 oz Prime Rib w/baked potato

Decided to come here for my birthday since I have not eaten at this franchise in over 10+ years and was craving prime rib and I knew that I was never disappointed in the past. I was immediately greeted and seated by a nice, young lady. Once seated, my waitress (Judy) immediately greeted me and took my drink order. As she delivered my drink, she also offered to take my order. I chose to start with the calamari then for my main coarse, did the 12oz Prime rib dinner with my sides as wedge salad (premium) and the baked potato. The meal still comes with their delicious warm bread, but the butter clearly had been sitting outside (of refrigeration), that was a big turn off for me (personal preference and didn't hold it against them since I know there many schools of thought on it). Everything else was seasoned well and the prime rib was exactly the way I like it, rare. The place is clean and the service was quick but not rushed and Judy was a delight.

Steve & Andrea enjoying a great dinner!

I had been here a few times since it first opened, but it had been a while since the last visit. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and sat. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Even offered a recommendation for a seasonal drink that was pretty refreshing. What We Ordered: ~ Angry Edamame: Always love edamame, and add some seasoning with a little spice - perfection! ~ Snow Crab (trifecta, spice level 3) + corn: My usual go to, but wish I did Level 4 though the server talked me out of it saying it's a big jump between the two levels. Next time, I'm going for it! Pretty decent flavor, though I've preferred other crab boils in the valley recently. ~ Fried Oyster Po Boy: My boyfriend said he wasn't a big fan of this comparative to the ones he has had growing up in Florida. Definitely a pass for next time. ~ Hot Honey Blueberry Lemonade: Very refreshing and perfect for the Arizona heat. Definitely love to see this drink on the menu or seasonally. Overall, a great experience with a low key atmosphere that you'd expect for a crab shack. Love the sinks to wash your hands! A great place for us in the east valley to get our seafood boil fix.

Food was okay but for the price... Crab: 3/5. For $85 bucks they should provide scissors bc the crackers did not work on the soft shells so was a PITA to get out the crab. And the seasoning doesn't get on the crab so if you like it you have to dip back into the bag. Lobster Roll: 4/5. For $20 bucks it was small but it came with a good portion of tender lobster and melted butter for dipping. The cajun fries were also good. This was out second time at this location bc our kids and grandkids love it but we wouldn't go back of our own accord as we expect more at that price point.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was kind, welcoming, and made us feel like they genuinely cared. Our daughter finally got her "fancy pasta," and the food was delicious. More importantly, they turned what started as a heartbreaking birthday into a special memory. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly, and they treated us with such kindness. We probably needed more drinks because nearly all our food was extremely salty. The calamari appetizer was salty and it overwhelmed any other flavor. Our main dishes came out just after the appetizer was put on the table. The waitress apologized but still put the food down so we felt rushed. The lentil and sausage soup had only two pieces of sausage in it and wasn't very good. The chicken parm was the only thing that was edible. The pasta that came on the chicken parm had a very strange flavor in the sauce and I couldn't stand more than one bite. The atmosphere was nice. They could have chosen better music, but that's a personal thing I guess. The restaurant was clean. All and all I told my wife we should have gone to Olive Garden or Sal's Gilbert Pizza. At least we would have had better food and saved some $'s.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

Ordering online was super easy, and the website made it simple to customize everything just how we wanted. I had the Mexican Street Corn Shrimp Tacos, which came with two sides. I asked about the toppings for the tacos and they said "oh yeah". The girl then went to grab the supervisor Kat, and she was very friendly. She apologized and let me know they were out of cheese, and cabbage. I asked about the pico and other toppings and she apologized for not including those items, then grabbed them for me. They did forget the lines too which i didn't realize until we got home, which was a bummer. I called in before we headed for pick up and ordered a large guac and chips. I ended up paying 52 bucks and when we left my husband said, that's really expensive guac. I didn't even realize how much i was spending because the mess that was happening with our main order. I checked the receipt and they charged me for a catering size guac, and i only received one small tub of guac and 2 small containers of chips. If it was catering i would have got 3 large containers of chips with a big bag of chips. I called to get a refund and Kat apologized for the mix up. She let me know that they weren't expecting it to be busy and ran out of a ton of different things, so the day was kind of crazy. She told me that since i paid in person i could only get a refund in person and they couldn't do it over the phone. I stopped back in on my way home from our Mother's Day get together and it was a different supervisor and the kitchen was disgusting. Food everywhere, empty food containers on the counters. I was kind of shocked honestly. Night and day difference from 2pm when i was in there earlier. Thankfully i got my refund and will not be returning to that location anytime soon. The chicken and fish we received were so dry, but at least the guac was yummy and tasted fresh! The employees did the best they could with what they were set up with but whoever handles the ordering needs to rethink not ordering additional items for a holiday. Especially tortillas, cabbage, and cheese!

It's one of my favorite Mexican restaurants here in the Phoenix Southeast area. This restaurant is located in a strip mall on the south west corner of Greenfield and Baseline. I love the little Tile roof awning they have when you first walk in and throughout the restaurant. There's seating in a room to the right of the counter, in a room to the left of the counter and outdoor seating as well. When the weather is nice, we enjoy sitting outside. They have it warmly decorated with trees and plants, which makes for a very relaxing environment. On our last trip, Juanita was our server and she was fantastic. She paid very close attention to details like ensuring our drinks were filled and when I asked for some extra green salsa for my quesadilla, she quickly brought me enough to finish what I was eating with my dinner plus some to take home for my leftovers. They start you off with chips, salsa, and bean dip. They offered their red salsa which is very good, but I am absolutely in love with their green salsa. So upon request, they will bring you some. Their green salsa has a slight sweet taste to it. I love dipping my chip in the beans and then dipping it into the green salas. There's just something unique about that flavor combination.
