This must be where all the village people go, and for good reason. The service is excellent here and the food is even better. The food here for the most part is American traditional, the first time I stopped in I ordered waffles, bacon, and eggs "fried" and got a free slice of rhubarb pie. The 2nd time "in the same week" I ordered their chicken fried steak & eggs it's comes with hash browns and I substituted pancakes for biscuits and gravy!! They serve massive amounts of food so make sure you're hungry. Everything I ordered was just fantastic!

Always a nostalgic restaurant as my family took me, and became a local high school spot when the one in Apache Junction was open. Nothing like breakfast any time of the day and finish it with their delicious pie! The service this recent visit was great, and loved they allowed a beverage to go.

Our server, Michael was really nice and friendly. The service was fast, and the order was exactly what we ordered. We have been here a few times, and the customer service is always great.

Food is okay. Prices are reasonable. Nothing to get excited about here. Service is similar to any other restaurant. Nothing exceptional.

Only downside was they didn't come out sizzling like you'd expect, and the plate itself was just kind of... warm. That seemed to be a theme across the table. Not just mine, my boys' food also came out more lukewarm than hot, almost like there was a delay getting dishes out of the kitchen. Service-wise, our server was super sweet and friendly, but overall service was pretty slow. Food came out at different times instead of together, which added to that "something's off" feeling. That said, the food itself was really good: California chicken burritos (both my boys got them) -- warm, not hot, but they said the flavor was great. Maybe a little heavy on the avocado, but still good. Birria tacos, our friend loved them and the Consomé was solid. Hatch Chile Queso Fundido with corn chips was the standout. Chips were fresh and the dip had the perfect amount of spice. Definitely a must-order. Ceviche had fresh ingredients and really good flavor. So yeah, food quality is there for sure. Just wish it came out hot and a bit more consistently. If they tighten that up, this place is easily a 5-star spot. But I definitely did recommend this place to friends who live locally to try, it was honestly that good.

The interior could use a refresh (think dark wood, old booths, and sports memorabilia that's seen better days), but if you like a lively, unpretentious bar atmosphere, it delivers. We went for dinner on a weeknight. I ordered the fish & chips. It arrived looking sad: two small, thin pieces of cod that were overcooked to the point of dryness, perched on a modest pile of fries. The breading was decent, tartar sauce fine, but the fish itself was underwhelming and skimpy for the price. Highlight of my plate was actually the side of onion rings--thick-cut, crispy, well-seasoned, and legitimately tasty. My wife's fried chicken sandwich, though, was a winner. Huge, juicy breast with a crunchy coating, fresh toppings, and a buttery brioche bun that held up perfectly. The fries alongside were hot and crisp. She demolished it and declared it one of the better chicken sandwiches she's had lately. Service was friendly but slow. Prices are typical for a golf course spot--maybe $2-3 higher than you'd hope. Verdict: Dinner was hit-and-miss (great chicken sandwich, forgettable fish & chips). The loud, dated vibe isn't for everyone. I probably wouldn't rush back for dinner, but the breakfast menu has solid reviews, so I'll give that a shot next time I'm in the area. Onion rings alone are worth a side order.
