10/9/25 A great day for Mesa's charming Little Mesa Cafe on Main Street. Parking 5/5 We arrived just before 2 pm for a late lunch. Between peak meal times and only three tables occupied. Service 5/5 Always excellent, friendly and attentive service here. This quaint Cafe gem never disappoints! Debbie the former owner now working for her son is Always fun to chat with. She still makes some great pies and cakes! Breakfast all day long and includes a great lunch and dinner selections too. Atmosphere 5/5 Little neighborhood American Cafe charm with large table to ceiling windows bringing the outside in. Today was particularly enjoyable as we enjoyed the light rain and a lazy pace chatting next to the window. Food 5/5 Everything we've tried is delicious from their scratch kitchen. Chicken fried steak, real mashed potatoes, the best homemade white country gravy. Today my wife enjoyed breakfast for lunch choosing their chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and white Country gravy and sautés carrots which is her favorite here. I tried their Mushroom & Swiss hamburger on special, large pickle spear and dinner salad. The burger was crazy delicious! This "Little Mesa Cafe" is an amazing burger maker. Tried calling to place a takeout order as requested by the restaurant through a coupon i had recieved. Called multiple times and every time theyd pickup, wouldnt say anything i could hear chatter in the background from what im assuming is the customers, then they hangup. Called multiple times today to try and use the coupon and they just kept hanging up, then eventually id get sent straight to voicemail. Amazing business ( sarcasm ) dont do coupons asking me to call if you arent going to hang up on me. read more

I hadn't been to LMC in a while so decided to try again. I had the special, chicken parmigana. It came with either soup or salad ( I chose the salad). It came out with meat sauce and spaghetti. I didn't expect meat sauce on a chicken dish. I couldn't eat the sauce, it was way too salty. The chicken was good but I had to scrape off most of the sauce. Honestly if you're looking for an all day nostalgic feeling breakfast spot then you got it right here. We walked in and got seated and right away the small diner feeling was there. We ordered the country breakfast and 5 star breakfast and it was a good amount of food. The pancakes were yummy and had a good flavor as well as the French toast. Thought we would try an old timey cafe but was a little disappointed. We tried the burgers and some sandwiches. We also had a slice of lemon cake and peach pie and sadly the only thing that was super good was the peach pie. Everything else was subpar at best. The place seemed a little dirty as in chairs need cleaned better. The service needs some work. Multiple times did they mess up our order or forget some of our food. I usually go to Litttle Mesa Cafe for breakfast, which is usually delicious, however, I saw a flyer on the door that chicken and dumplings will be available on Thursday's after 3 so I decided to try them out, when ordering I was asked if I would like dark or white meat, which I thought was unusual, I chose dark. My husband and I recently moved from California and was homesick for our favorite diners until we came here to Little Mesa Café we ate dinner and it was so delicious. We loved the gravy over the chicken fried steak. The mashed potatoes were so good but the gravy was so fluffy and delicious. Next time we need to come for breakfast. I can see why this Diner has been here for so many years I'm so tired of seeing the same old Restaurants that are not family owned pop-up on every corner. Ordered eggs poached. Came back with runny whites. But a lot of cooks do that. Portions good. Price same as most other places. We don't order coffee out anymore because most places are $3-$4. That's just not something we will support. Some of the drinks were $4 and $5 each. We looked at lunch and dinner prices on the menu. They are comparable to other places. We live on a fixed income. Under New Management and not to be missed ! The owner sold the restaurant to her grandson and he did a great job of remodeling the place! The new floors look wonderful and give it a fresh updated look. We were very pleased. The food was so good. We both had the Chicken Fried Steak for dinner and were very satisfied with our meals. A cozy little spot to have breakfast with your family! It's got a very small town feel even in the middle of Mesa. Service was polite, and the food was pretty good. Ok honestly, there was an elderly male and female on table 82, right behind us. They had the audacity to ruin my experience with some snide comments about people being on their phones when in reality, my partner was supporting a buddy who was going through some life challenges and I had to call my PCP. This is no fault of the any of the restaurant staff. ANYWAY, our server admitted she was new to the morning shift, but she did fantastic! She was on time, detail-oriented, professional, and welcoming! The food was perfect comfort food/breakfast food also, the dining room had that rural/country type feel that just comforts you. It has been quite a few years since we've been in the area. However, since we were close, we thought we'd give it a try. We had nothing but kudos for this place the last few times we had been there. There were four of us dining. The special was turkey dinner and that's what I ordered. Turkey was definity not processed and delicious. However, I must say I didn't particular care for the stuffing or potatoes. I couldn't put my finger on the stuffing other than saying it was different. The potatoes were mashed but very watered(?) down and the gravy so-so. Needless to say I was disappointed. There were 3 other orders. Another couple orders were cheese omelets and there were no complaints there but also no real hurrah either. The final meal was steak and shrimp and it was done just as ordered. Soup of the day was chicken barley. I felt the broth had no flavor but the other person ordering it thought it was great. The service was friendly and perfect and the atmosphere was very nice. We went to get breakfast. The first thing we noticed is how cold it was in the place. We bundled up. The ceiling fans were all going, and I thought well if you're going to just move the air around it'll just make cold air feel colder. Oh well now for the food. I know you're there mushroom omelette with Rye toast. The Omelette was very good and well cooked, but not overdone. I enjoyed it. I initially had ordered the omelette with cheddar cheese on top but they brought it out with American cheese, and they were happy to take it back and change it , and make it right . One thing I will mention though and the reason why I'm writing this review is that I rarely write something about the toast. I rarely get really good toast from a restaurant. It's always soggy or dry, but this one was fresh out of the toaster but it had enough moisture in it that it was crunchy but chewy just like toast ought to be. Perfect mix of butter and rye bread. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though this place looks like a throwback from the '60s cafe era, the staff is very attentive and willing to make your experience a good one.
