Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner you can find homemade gravy (non of that packaged shit), homemade soup (nothing frozen that comes premade in bags), and omelets made with real eggs (they actually crack them). Stopped in for a quick evening dinner. Found this place online. It is a nice and quiet location. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable. The cook made us a cheeseburger with green chilies. I've been about 4 times which is normal for me before posting a review. The ambiance is mid western. Kind of fun that way. Some handcraft goods at the entrance makes it feel homey. The menu is home cooking all the way. Nothing fancy just the basics. I've had the open faced beef sandwich, so good. Liver and onions delish. Chicken fried steak tender and crisp. The mashed potatoes are legit and yummy is gravy. Soup always homemade is great and included with the meal. My daughter had the basic cheese burger and she loved it. Breakfast was good too. Save room for pie, it's homemade with flaky crust. My only disappointment is at times over my visits is if they are at all busy the service gets bad. I know it's hard to find employees now a days so I'm patient but the basics of utensils and salt and pepper should be standard. I won't hold this against them though. Staff was friendly and the waitstaff was attentive. We didn't wait long for our food. The problem was that we had called ahead to see if they had gluten free waffles. The person who answered the phone readily stated they had gluten free waffles, pancakes, and even gluten free bread. It's why we chose to go there. When we got there they had a sign on the table that said they had gluten free options. When we asked the server what they had she stated they hadn't received their delivery so they had none of the items they said they had. Also the butter that was served was rancid. Little Mesa Diner is a bit of anomaly. I was recommended by a friend and went here for breakfast. I tried the country breakfast with the extra pancakes. The meal came with potato pan fries, 2 eggs, link sausages and bacon. The food was decent and tasted as expected. Nothing surprising. None of it was custom or uniquely prepared. In my case, while the food was reasonable it wasn't hot. I've said this time and time again, but the cardinal rule it every restaurant to go from ok to excellent always starts with this one rule- serve food hot. Not lukewarm, not once the rest of the table order is done. Hot. Hot food tastes great when it us ready. Not 10 minutes later Little Mesa Diner served my food when it was already cooling down. It was not too great. Nothing is great when its warm. That said, the staff was kind and made all efforts to be pleasant and serve us efficiently.
