Keegan's food is great. I have gone to Keegan's for close to 20 years, from before their Ahwatukee location closed. Their menu is varied and selections flavorful. We tend to order their veggie melt, fish and chips, dagwood. Today we visited with an old friend, started at 3 until 6. Longer than usual but had a couple entrees, soup, and extended over our 3 desserts. Conversation was engaging and while we lingered we had to ask for our water to be refilled. Both times all 3 glasses were only filled half full. This was so strange and not typical of Keegan's service. I expect the server was hoping for additional tips from the next patrons and anxious for us to free up our table. This was disappointing to us since we are loyal customers to Keegans and drive out of our way. This was a one off out of at least 50 visits so we'll come again but disappointed. read more

We stopped here while in the area. The Yelp reviews led us here and we enjoyed the experience. The ambience reminded us of a Bennigan's from days gone by, and that's a good thing. The service was excellent. The waiter with the deep voice was attentive and had a jovial attitude. I had the French Onion soup and it was very good, pretty standard as French Onion soup goes. We also had the hummus platter type appetizer, again standard fare. Good but nothing that really stood out. I had the steak salad for an appetizer and the steak was cooked just the way I ordered it (medium rare). The salad was large and honestly, I couldn't finish it. But it was very good. Came back again - absolutely love the service from Isaiah aka Spicoli. This energetic young man provides the absolute best service you can ask for and has a super fun, friendly personality....even while managing a super busy bar (approximately 20 customers) and numerous tables. We consider this kind of a local place here in the Sun Lakes area. It's a great steakhouse along with having really good salads and certain seafood foods. We like the kind of a steakhouse ambience and then the service is always great.! Went for a business dinner while our team was staying in Chandler. There were 6 of us so they put us in a back room all by ourselves. Not sure if they didn't have any other tables that could accommodate 6 or not. I ordered the filet and it came out and didn't have much taste. My colleague ordered the flat iron steak and it had garlic herb butter melted over the top so I asked for some for my steak and the server said it was plain butter and brought me plain butter which we knew wasn't right. After several requests, she finally brought me the garlic herb butter but by then my steak was cold so didn't do much good. Not a great experience and the food was all basically bar food. Disappointing because the Keegan's on Camelback was great for a long time. If you know what to expect here, you won't be disappointed. Otherwise, go somewhere else for a steak. read more

Went for dinner on 1/24/26 1. Server Riley took our order. Our party ordered 2 of the St Louis Rib specials. 2. Drinks arrived about 15 minutes after ordering. 3. Server came back 20 minutes after ordering with bad news saying they ran out of the special and we needed to order something else. 4. Orders start coming out afterwards and we had no silverware or napkins at the table so we asked for them. 5. Server brought out 4 sets of silverware and 2 napkins. We asked her to bring out more napkins for our party of 4. 6. Our bill came at the 2 orders of St Louis Lewis ribs were still on our check. Bill was $45 more than we expected. 7. We told server the mistake and she took it back and came back saying they removed the 2 items and with an updated check. What a miserable experience. Not planning on going back. read more

I went here yesterday (Friday afternoon) with some friends from work. I just ordered fries and they were fine. One of my friends ordered the queso dip and that was actually really good. The chorizo gave it a nice kick and then another friend ordered chips and salsa. Our server was fine. The atmosphere is not really our vibe. I think we may have been a little too loud for that crowd and giggly It was quite a bit older than our group and I'm in my late 40 so I probably won't go back again, but if that's your thing, I think you'll enjoy it! read more

Classic dinner with a diverse menu. The staff is always friendly but the food has been hit and miss. Our son is a huge fan of the queso so that is a must to get for him when we go. They serve two type of chips with it and one of the chips was not quite done. Hubby and sons all got cheeseburgers and it has been off each time they order it medium well. Hubby's was a hockey puck and our sons was well done. If hubby's burger was any dryer he would be out in the desert licking the ground. I opted for the chicken and broccoli and it was tasty. I will admit a staple is the cheesy potatoes. They do hit the spot. It was written recently that they are under new management so maybe that explains the new reggae music was playing in the background. Not the type of environment here for this type of music. My boss selected Keegan's Grill as the spot for a team dinner since it was close to our work location. I've driven past Keegan's for years and never thought twice about it as I've never really heard anything about it. I scoped out their menu to get an idea of what I might choose for dinner. Honestly, the reviews for this place didn't really instill a lot of confidence. That's OK with me though. I like giving places the benefit of the doubt and basing things on my own experience. We had some appetizers to start things off. I found the Grilled Chicken Wings to be quite good! They were juicy and with a very nice spicy-smokey flavor to them. The Pale Ale Schreiner's Chorizo Con Queso was pretty good as well. The queso was mildly spicy, cheesy and meaty and everyone at the table seemed to have enjoyed it. The corn chips were good, but I did not care for the flour chips at all. I ordered a medium rare Grilled Flatiron Steak with vegetables and baked cheddar potatoes. The menu doesn't mention the size or variety of steak that is being served for this selection. The steak was cooked perfectly to my medium rare preference. I was not impressed by the size of the steak and wished that it would have been slightly larger. If you order a steak dinner, shouldn't the highlight be the steak?? The overall flavor was a bit disappointing because there was little to be enjoyed. I found the vegetables to be somewhat bland as well. I'm not one to add salt to my meals, but this one really needed it. The cheesy potatoes weren't bad, but definitely lacked an adequate amount of moisture to make them look more appealing. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of any food that obviously looks like it was plopped on a plate with an ice cream scoop. Maybe it's because it reminds me too much of cheap cafeteria food? The service was mediocre. The waitress was pleasant, but forgot to bring a couple of drinks and failed to ask if any of us wanted refills. At first, I thought that maybe I was just being too picky, but my team's opinions mirrored mine. The appetizers were good, but the entrees were bland and not memorable at all. Unfortunately, I believe that there are much better choices for dining than Keegan's Grill. The value and the flavor just wasn't there. I have to stress that it wasn't a horrible experience at all. The food here was honestly pretty tasty, I Had the Chuck Burger with fries, along with Mike's Potato Slins for an appetizer. The potato skins were loaded with bacon and, while fairly greasy, were really good. Don't sleep on the chipotle butter either! I asked for medium on my burger, and it was more medium well/ well done, than anytning. But, it was overall good and the fries were great, perfectly crispy and not too much salt. Our waiter was awesome as well, and accommodated anytning we needed. The main reason I gave it a 3 is the atmosphere, it was pretty slow and quiet and definitely has a specific audience. Younger people may want something a little different. Overall, it was a solid experience, I probably wouldn't go here on the regular but every once in awhile, I would and it's a great place to sit and relax with some friends and family! read more

Had lunch here with 4 other ladies on 10/24/23. We had an excellent waitress (sorry I didn't get her name). Have nice pick 2 type lunch special with choice of specific half sandwiches, half salads, soup of the day, or their version of french onion soup. I got the half caesar salad & the french onion soup. The soup had lots of onions cheese & rye bread (see pic). I believe the croutons are homemade from leftover rye bread. One of my friends had a large salad off the regular menu, it was huge (see pic). Very disappointing experience. We have a tendency to eat at the same places all the time because we've found what's good and what we like it. I really wanted potato skins and since this place has them on the menu we decided to try something new. 1st disappointment, no skins 2nd, my husband said the cheeseburger was tasteless 3rd, surprised the open face sandwich was 2 small pieces of meat 4th my pork chops were like eating a saddle, leathery and chewy 5th The server never acknowledged us after the food was brought so we could get refills or ask for something else to eat...really poor service for a restaurant with a total of 6 people in it.
