We stopped in looking for a new breakfast spot, and it was a great find! Since my wife loves breakfast and I prefer lunch, the menu was perfect for both of us. Despite it being very busy with only a few open tables--and a lively mahjong tournament happening outside--we were seated immediately Our drink order took a moment to get started, but once it did, the service was excellent. Our food arrived quickly and was exactly as ordered. I had the club sandwich and substituted ranch potatoes since fries aren't on the menu; both of our meals were fantastic. The tea was fresh, and our glasses were never empty. This is clearly a local favorite, and we will definitely be back! .

Decided to visit this local spot that seemed to be really popular while out in Gilbert. It was a okay size inside, but had enough seating. My breakfast was amazing, I love when menu options have a sweet and food option to it. The waffles were especially tasty with the fruit included. The service was okay, they were fairly busy so it was fair.

The Nook is a little to the East of the Higley and Queen Creek intersection on the south side of the road. It's away from vehicle and foot traffic enough to be a quaint location. The indoor seating isn't very large but has enough tables to seat a good crowd. Simple wooden chairs and booths adorn the interior and typical metal chairs and tables on the small patio on the west side of the restaurant. I dined by myself during a slower period and since I've never been here before I went with the simple Two Egg Breakfast (it comes gluten free). I asked for my eggs over easy, pork patties and the English muffin. The eggs were good but one was definitely cooked a little longer on the yolk than the other. No big deal. The English muffin was large and soft and tasty. Unfortunately it didn't come with butter and I forgot to ask for some...probably good calories to avoid. The highlight of the dish were the ranch potatoes. Not only were there a lot of them, they were perfectly seasoned and had a blend of crisp exterior and soft interior. The weakest part of the plate were the two sausage patties...a little rubbery texture and not a lot of taste. My server was a sweetheart and very attentive...helped being one of the two active tables she had. Nevertheless she asked if I needed anything at least five times in fifteen minutes. Still forgot to ask for butter each time... For what you get, the $14.25 price tag is a little steep...can find similar dishes for $2-4 cheaper at other breakfast places. But I'm not deterred to trying other more exotic items on their menu. The Green Chili Chicken Skillet sounds delicious. I meant to take a peek at their desserts on the way out if they were out for display. Thanks for the good meal and experience!

My husband and I frequent the Nook. It's def in our rotation of breakfast and brunch places. Today, we got in with a 5 minute wait time on a Sunday! Unbelievable! Good food and the price is right. Our service was awesome as well. Thanks to Melissa. Until next time..., Thank You and check out the food pics below

Five star experience every time I dine here. Meals are priced well, and the staff are all very, very friendly! Not to mention, the potatoes are genuinely delicious and I'm a potato connoisseur

There have been good times and bad times at The Nook! Our first visits were so nice (pre-COVID) our last two visits have been huge disappointments. First off I ordered my breakfast skillet with the hollandaise on the side because I absolutely hate hollandaise sauce. The service was quick but the person that brought our food to the table was not the server that took our order; my breakfast was drowning in hollandaise sauce. When our original server checked on us I pointed out the mistake and she "was sorry to hear that". I 100% expected compensation not just a very lame attempt at an apology. Fast forward to today, it's our 46th wedding anniversary and we decided to have lunch at the Nook. I ordered the BLTA because the menu description sounded so good. The sandwich was described as "loaded" with crispy bacon; what I got was 2 barely toasted pieces of white bread, 2 slices of bacon (both on one 1/2 of my sandwich, none on the other half), limp lettuce I had to pick off and possibly 1 very thin slice of avocado sliced into small pieces and dispersed over both sides of the sandwich, each 1/2 was given 1 slice of tomato there wasn't even mayonnaise or anything moist on the bread (except tomato juice and lettuce water). I had the dressed greens on the side which included a piece of completely decomposed lettuce, it was basically a fossil leaf. I'm sorry but if this is the best you can do don't charge $15.99 also if you're going to charge $10.99 for a Bloody Mary put the booze in it! Oh and again the server who delivered our food to us was not the server that took our order (it was however the same server that gave us the lame apology during our previous visit). The outdoor patio is very inviting but today it was swarming with flies which added insult to injury.

First time at the Nook for an early weekday breakfast at 6:00am. Place was open and clean. Impressive breakfast menu. I ordered the Mediterranean Frittata with chicken, spinach, feta cheese and egg white. The English Muffin was large and coffee was hot. Great service, I liked it!

10/10!! I'd make the 45 min drive here again! No wonder this place is packed. The food was not only amazing but savory and BIG. DEFINITELY ate with my eyes. The servers were sweet and attentive. Can't wait to make the little trip back here.

I've been here 3 times now, and it just gets better each time. I tried to order different things each time and they never disappoint. This time I ordered the Bacon and Avacado scramble, it is soooo good! ! And I tried the Kale Refresher, did not think I was going to like it because it looked so healthy. But OMG, it is delicious!! My friend ordered the Strawberry waffle, it looked so pretty and yummy too. My friend who's vegetarian can always find something to enjoy as well. So now I've updated my score from 4-5 stars!

We returned to Parlay Kitchen + Cocktails on a Wednesday and had a completely different experience…read morethan our first visit, in the best way. Javi guided us toward the Wednesday offering of their Parlay Chardonnay with bruschetta, and that pairing alone shifted the entire evening. We had only planned for a simple glass of wine, but his recommendation introduced us to something far more thoughtful. The bruschetta was bright and well composed, layered with fresh flavors that complemented the wine beautifully. I was genuinely surprised to learn Parlay has its own label. The Chardonnay was clean, refreshing, and balanced with the kind of crisp structure and subtle fruit notes you expect from a well executed glass. It felt intentional, not just another house option. We added wings, which were well prepared, and my husband ordered the beer cheese chicken Philly. I tried it and the sauce stood out immediately, rich without being heavy and full of flavor. What truly elevated the experience was the service, and Deedee set the tone. Her presence carries a level of professionalism that is rare, but it is her warmth and attentiveness that make her exceptional. She leads with confidence, reads the room effortlessly, and creates an environment where guests feel genuinely cared for without it ever feeling forced. There is a natural ease to how she manages both her team and the floor, and it shows in every detail of the experience. She is not just managing, she is elevating the entire operation. Javi complemented that perfectly with thoughtful recommendations and a genuine approach that made the evening feel curated rather than transactional. Our first visit left us underwhelmed. This time, everything aligned. The right selections, the right guidance, and the right leadership. We left genuinely glad we came back. If there is a Parlay near you, it is worth a second look.

Summary: Cute but confused atmosphere, friendly service, great drink menu, not good food…read more The atmosphere had a nice vibe, well-decorated in a trendy, nicer way but then absolutely packed with TVs playing sports. Like our area with just around 8 dinner tables had at least 6 big screens. I've only been to this location so unsure if they're all like this or the previous business just left TVs and they kept them? They kept the volume off which was great for eating and enjoying the company you came with. Service was great - friendly and attentive and handled our large party well. They also had the handheld machines for payment which made divvying up checks easy. The drink menu was extensive with a lot of classics with a twist and creative options. All the drinks came out looking well made. Mine was tasty! The food is what brought this down. Korean egg rolls sounded fun but were dry and boring. I took a couple bites and called it quits on that. The burger was especially disappointing. Listed as a 1/2 patty of brisket and steak, I sure wasn't expecting the tiny dry puck that arrived. It did have a good char on it. Just sadly thin, unseasoned, massively overcooked. Then it came on a dry bun. So so dry. The whole thing. A sad dry little patty on a sad dry bun. Butter? Mayo? Burger fat?? Anything would have helped. Then some lettuce, tomato, onion on the side. Truly one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Came with a small amount of pretty good fries though. All that said, I'd come back for drinks and fries. Its cute and they have happy hour and a great drink list.

The server was nice but unfortunately not attentive. Around 6pm it started to pick up and it seemed like there were only 2 servers, 1 being trained, 1 food runner, and 1 bartender. Therefore I want to give the server the benefit of doubt and say she just couldn't keep up with the tables (valid and it happens). However I didn't see front of the house management step in to help (unfortunate). Support was very much needed. A table was sat next to us and they didn't get drinks until about 10 minutes after they were seated. Overall, the service lacked and there was no explanation as to why. Usually if the kitchen is backed up, the server advises of such or management comes up and checks in on the tables. Food was okay. Not terrible but nothing I'd come back for. All in all, the service needs attention and management needs to provide support (starts from the top). Maybe they were just off their game that day.

At the end of the evening, they also brought out their delicious macarons as a birthday gift. Such thoughtful touches. Our server was polished, warm, knowledgeable, and completely on top of everything. I started with a sampling of oysters, and each one was superb. My friend, who is not a seafood person, ordered the NY strip, and it was excellent: well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the soft-shell crab roll as a smaller main course. It arrived noticeably after my friend's steak, but the restaurant handled it beautifully. They comped it without us asking, and the manager came over to chat with us. He was delightful and circled back again at the end of the evening. Between the beautiful patio, excellent food, and genuinely friendly staff, Buck & Rider made my birthday dinner feel special. We had a fantastic evening.

Use to visit the Chandler location weekly 12-14 years ago.. even told our kiddos that tonight when we brought them here. Problems started as soon as we got our food. All the food came out besides our son's children's steak, was told they had to cook another one. As we were waiting for his steak, my husband noticed his steak wasn't a ribeye like he ordered. He suspected it was a NY Strip Steak. About 7 minutes goes by and manger brings our sons steak. My husband asked the manager if his steak looked like a NY strip to him and manager replied "yes, I think we have the best NY Strip" and my husband nicely replied, I didn't order a Strip, I ordered a Ribeye and told the manager it was fine, he would eat it still and still tasted good but didn't want to be changed for a Ribeye since he got the strip wrong. ($12 difference) I got the firebirds bacon chicken pasta with steak instead of chicken and no tomatoes and green onions. Well.. there was def tomatoes and onions and no bacon. And I was changed $30 for pasta and steak.. that wasn't even made the way I asked. Well my son's (late) steak was suppose to be medium and it was rare. By the time the server came back my son was eating some of my husbands steak and my pasta so we just asked the server to take his meal off the check because it was late and cooked wrong. She said it was absolutely cooked wrong and insisted to bring him a new steak as well as take it off the check. She even asked him to put his steak on a plate and "she'd throw it away and they'll make him a new children steak." Well manager comes back and tell my husband that his steak was in fact a ribeye (it was def not a ribeye.. no marbling whatsoever) and dropped off our sons steak.... It literally was the pieces we had cut up that they just threw back on the grill. Even pieces our son chewed and spit out when it was rare and too chewy for him. Like GROSS!!! They did take the children's steak off the check and gave us a free dessert( which we didn't even want, we would have rather paid the correct amount for my husbands steak...) The waitress was fine, none of this was her fault because she read us back what we ordered and had it all correct.. but she fell short as to getting us refills (never even offered a 2nd round of wine or beer) and when it was time for the check we gave 2 gift cards $50 each and our card to pay. She brought back our copy to sign and she only took off 1 $50 gift card. We had to call her over and she realized she didn't use both giftcards and had to void our card and redo it. The managers were busy the whole night talking to upset tables. This location really needs to get their stuff together. Again, nice to offer dessert but truly all we wanted was to get what we paid for and how we asked for it and tonight wasn't it. Literally felt like we were scammed outta $160. we will be taking our $$ elsewhere.
