Pesto Shrimp Orecchiette mmmm so delicious
    Sierra V.

Vibe alone 10/10 The princess is sweet and packs a punch the cadi is worth the money, salmon is cooked medium and to me it taste perfect. The butternut squash and couscous is earthy and almost Smokey? It's amazing! Mashed potatoes are 100/10 the salmon has this pesto that's literally sooooo darn good I want it on EVERYTHING crispy juicy perfectly seasoned fried chicken paired with hot sauce was an elite combo. I definitely recommend. Unfortunately the mac & cheese was not very good. Two out of 10. It was simply Mac AND cheese almost felt as if the two were separate things

Culinary Dropout is a good go to! We went here a couple weeks ago for a friends birthday. Started with the pretzel and fondue which always hit the spot. Apparently this is the only location that does sushi so I was curious and tried it out. My server recommended the Rainbow Roll and the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice which is what I ended up getting both. The roll was not my favorite - kind of bland no flavor really came through. I did like the crispy rice though so good recommendation from the server. Overall cool vibe and a good place for a group. Wasn't blown away by the service but they did a good job.

Came here on a Tuesday night and had a fabulous time. I stopped by the bar for a happy hour glass of wine. Their happy hour goes till six and then I met up with the rest of my group. I ordered the salmon. We also had the onion dip and chips. All of my food was so tasty. Great experience overall. Staff was friendly, polite, and quick. You may have to wait for your reservation for a few minutes, but if happy hour is still going the bar is a great place to spend a little bit of time.

I could only wish we had something like this in SoCal. Our friends from AZ were raving about this place and we were so glad they took us here. Located in downtown Gilbert, this seems like the place to be on a Sunday. Live music, huge dining area - tons of very comfortable seating (couches for dining chairs!), private rooms for events, and a big patio with lawn games. The food here is *chef's kiss*... and I might have just ordered one of each item on the appetizer menu. BBQ nachos, hot wings, pretzel bites with beer cheese fondue, white truffle deviled eggs, popcorn shrimp, and a chopped chicken salad (for health) lol. Can't pick a favorite. We loved them all. The chopped chicken salad is a must - they don't skimp on the toppings. Beers on tap were all good - especially the IPAs. Good food. Good vibes. Great service. Reasonable pricing. We'd comeback here any day.

it's been awhile since we've been here but pleasantly surprised that food is just as good as i remember years ago. we came specifically for the az restaurant week deal. for apps, we got the crispy brussels sprouts and cheese and pretzels, for the entree we both got the fried chicken and for dessert we got the monkey bread and mississippi mud pie (which was my favorite). everything was SO delicious just like we remember. we were seated right away when we came in on a saturday but we also had a reservation. noise level is pretty average, not too loud. our server was great as well. overall, we had a great time and will absolutely be back! please keep doing az restaurant week too! thank you!

**This review is specific to the Bar Blitzen holiday pop-up** 12/31/2025 My friend and I attended Bar Blitzen at Culinary Dropout a few years ago. The cocktails were pretty good, so we wanted to go again this year. We didn't get a chance to go around Christmas, so we made a reservation for New Year's Eve. It was a great chance to soak in more of the holiday magic with the cozy holiday decor and menu. Make sure you select the "experience" on your OpenTable reservation, otherwise it's the regular restaurant seating. When we got there, they gave us three options for seating - bar, high-top, or table. We sat at a high-top before, so this time we chose the bar. It was pretty slow at 8:30pm, but started to pick up around 9:30pm. The "Santa Snacks" menu said 4-7pm, but I saw food at one of the tables so I asked the bartender if we can still order food. She reluctantly said yes - I assume they made an exception since it was NYE. We never go to Culinary Dropout or Bar Blitzen without ordering the Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. It's probably their best-selling menu item. I got the Espress Ho Ho Ho Tini - choice of tequila or vodka, Italian espresso liqueur, Spanish vanilla, and spice cold foam. The menu didn't say if it actually contains espresso or coffee, so I asked because it was kind of late to have caffeine. The bartender said it contains their house-made espresso syrup. The drink tasted great, a little sweet, and was topped with a pretty snowflake design (see attached photo). My friend didn't feel like drinking alcohol, and she drove, so she ordered a zero proof version. Her drink said "NO" on top instead of a snowflake - we laughed so hard. On top of the bar area were two screens, both playing an endless loop of a burning fireplace. The whole place had a nice, relaxing ambience. Very chill. We had a good time and would definitely come back again for the next pop-up!

Turkey Pastrami Sandwich on a Pretzel Bun
    Ren H.

Culinary Dropout has my favorite Turkey Pastrami sandwich. I recommended it to my friend and it became his favorite too. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant decor is the best in Downtown Gilbert. It has high ceilings and well appointed furniture. There are large seating areas in the lounge and dining sections. It has a great indoor and outdoor ambiance.

This place was the worst dine out experience I've had of 2025 and ranked at the bottom of my list out of everywhere I ate on a 6 day trip to Arizona. I got the fried chicken and it was very dry, I could've gotten better fried chicken at KFC. Save your time and money and go literally anywhere else. We were a party of 5 and had a 6:15 PM reservation for a Wednesday night, which we checked in early for too, and didn't get seated till about 6:40 PM. We didn't get our food till 7:33 PM. They had a lot of open tables at the time too. Why take reservations when you don't honor them by having a table reserved and ready for service? The hostess was giving us attitude too when we checked back in with them around 6:30 PM to make sure we weren't forgotten or already called since we were waiting outside as there were a lot of people waiting inside too. The interior is dark, hip, has a bar, spacious, and nice ambiance for a sate night. Our waitress was a nice lady and attentive to our table. The table ordered drinks and then promptly ordered our food when the waitress swung back to us. It was a noticeable long wait for the food, most of the group had already finished their drinks before the food even came. I ordered the fried chicken because it was the most reviewed item on Yelp. It was very dry. The drumstick was the only one that was ok as it was a small drumstick, but not juicy by any means. The flavor for the fried chicken batter was there but the execution was not. I had to use hot sauce to get it down. I did really like the mash potatoes and biscuit it came with, delightful. The coleslaw was ok, it could've used a little more flavor and sauciness in my opinion. I had a bite of my friend's salmon and Cesar salad and it was decent. With the terrible experience with the hostess team, my dried fried chicken, and the slow speed for food to come out - I would not recommend this place and wouldn't come back. I would had consider coming back again to try their other dishes but the service was just that unacceptable and off putting.

This is my 2nd year attending the pop up Bar Blitzen at Culinary Dropout. The decor is absolutely stunning and give such a cozy Christmas vibe. Reservations are required for a 1.5 hour time slot. The Nog on the Rooftop was the best eggnog I've had in my life. The Chopped Chicken Salad was DELICIOUS! I'd skip the Dropout & Mrs. Mint on a return trip. It tasted like straight vodka with a splash of vanilla and a sticky peppermint rim.

Spicy rigatoni. I don't like my mouth on fire. This was not that at all. It was culinary yumminess. $24

It was a Monday night with a fair amount of people there. Lots of things to talk about: ambiance, decor, cocktails, food, all good, but the service was Outstanding! If you're looking for a place that has a spot to keep active for adults and kids they have a great outdoor lawn space. The bar portion is huge to not make you feel like you're sitting on top of each other and the indoor dining room seats tables far enough away from one another to allow for a level of privacy. Not to mention it was all comfortable. The food was good and right priced. The cocktails were clever and ours were delicious. Parking structure was directly behind, but there also had a lane in front for convenient drop off. The gentleman we had as a server was a tall glass water and made to be in the hospitality industry. He just had that energy about him that engaged you in whatever he was saying. He paid enough attention, but not too much. He gave great recommendations. And he was a good and eager photographer taker. I watched him serve multiple tables and there didn't appear to be a frown in the room. $23

We went for Arizona Restaurant Week and had a great time. Food was delicious (BBQ on the ribs was way too ketchup-y) but everything else was phenomenal. I'd like to go back and try them again, maybe it was an off day.

Strawberry Lemon Torte $9 - nice presentation, but flavor combo was decent
    Aini R.

I had never dined in before and wanted to give it a try. A couple of people in my party had only visited the bar for drinks and the soft pretzel with provolone cheese--the pretzel and cheese were excellent, easily 5 stars. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't live up to that. The Caesar salad dressing was very lemon-forward, though the croutons were good. When our entrees arrived, the plating looked nice, but we were disappointed by the portion sizes of the Korean ribeye and the steak frites. It would be helpful if the menu indicated the expected ounces of meat, as some in our party left hungry. The fish and chips were well-seasoned, and the BBQ pork belly nachos were okay--the meat was very sweet, which didn't appeal to our nacho lovers. If you are a sports fan, you'll appreciate that they have TVs all around the restaurant with football games on. The music is relatively loud, so you'll need to speak a bit louder for your party to hear. Overall, our server was friendly and checked in on us, but the wait for entrees and desserts felt long, even on a slow night. I can't imagine how long it would take when it's busy.

The location has a quaint, house-style feel with beautifully manicured grounds. The large doors were open, allowing a lovely breeze to flow through, a welcomed touch. There's also a convenient parking lot right next door, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: outside patio, high-top outdoor seating, inside bar seating, and traditional indoor dining. We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.

I tried the chicken risotto- absolutely delicious! I've tried many risottos at different restaurants and they never quite have the right texture balance. The chefs here have nailed it! The risotto is nice and creamy, but not TOO creamy. I loved it. In addition, the seasoning on the chicken was perfect, truly the entire dish was perfect. Service: Also amazing! Our server, Abby, was great. Very attentive and accommodating. The hostess, Bella, was also very helpful and talkative, she recommended the chicken risotto for me! I also saw the other teammates working hard on the floor, always checking in on their coworkers and helping each other out. It's a very kind and social environment! Cork & Craft is definitely a place I'd recommend. I plan on coming back!

If you like an Old Fashioned, they have the best one I have ever had. $18 but amazing! It was a beautiful evening and the doors & windows were open so all could enjoy it! We shared three different items and we both enjoyed them all. My complaint is the table and chairs. Both were leaning about 1-1/2" so we had to put our weight on them to level them. Also the chairs we were on had a weird slope that makes you slide out of them. Fix these and easily a 5 star rating.

We came in with our family and three kids and sat on the patio since we were a larger group. After eating, our kids were sitting in chairs near our table, chatting and moving around a bit. They weren't being loud or disruptive, but a nearby a couple clearly seemed upset. The woman was shaking her head and saying to the waitress "this isn't okay to be doing while people are eating", pointing toward our kids. Once I realized this, I immediately called my kids back over and had them sit with us, and I even let her know that if something was bothering her, she could've told us and I would have addressed it right away. The couple chose to ignore us and left shortly after. The manager then came out and reassured us that Lucky Lou's is a family-friendly restaurant and that our kids were absolutely fine. That meant a lot to us and really showed how supportive and understanding the staff is. I also hope one day that couple realizes how hard it is to keep a 4-, 6-, and 8-year-old sitting at a table for more than 30 minutes without shoving an iPad in front of them. On top of that, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and I honestly had the best burger and tater tots of my life. We'll definitely be back--thank you for creating such a kid-friendly and enjoyable place for families!

It had been quite some time since I had last been, and my most recent visit didn't disappoint. Every time I've ever been here, it's always been busy during the dinner rush, but service has always remained quick and attentive. It certainly isn't what I would call a "fine dining" experience, but it's upscale enough and has good enough food to feel like a meaningful night out with family, friends, or your partner. For an appetizer, we enjoyed their bread and butter, which was fantastic. The bread also came with olive oil and seasonings to dip it in, which was also very tasty. For dinner, I enjoyed their grilled cod with French and sweet potato fries, as well as coleslaw. While the fish was slightly overcooked, the meal overall was still delicious, filling , and well worth the trip back to High Tide. Definitely swing in if you've never been!

The restaurant and outdoor entertainment complex is huge and has a really fun, energetic vibe. According to the bartender, they have ping-pong, pickleball, and a big upstairs outdoor patio with amazing views of Tempe and the surrounding area. There's also a large parking lot, lots of outdoor seating, and even a dog park area, which makes it really easy to spend time here. The bartenders and wait staff were very friendly. Azbel was a great server. I had the bistro steak and fries and the Szechuan lettuce wraps, and both were really good. Portions were generous. During late-night happy hour my total was about $55 for a main entrée, an appetizer, a cocktail, and tip, which felt like a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised that happy hour runs every day Monday through Sunday from 3-6 PM and again from 8 PM to close. I also checked out the event venue on site, and it looks like it would be a great place for a company party, corporate event, or group gathering. I'll definitely be returning in the near future.

The Service was "electric" for us as we were celebrating a birthday at the table during lunch. It was too Hot for us to do pickleball, but they do have a fully shaded area that had people playing outside ~105 degrees. As for the food, we had the Fish & Chips with a Mahi Mahi Slaw & Fries, the Ahi Poke Tacos which come in Wonton shells. Hot Honey and Sausage Pizza was great. The Barbacoa Nachos had all the right ingredients & the Double Smash Burger had only some "fancy sauce" on the plate. The Tempura Green Bean, can't remember who ordered, but were good with the chipotle ranch sauce. With me, I'm all about the cocktails, so I treated myself to both the Froze Margarita & the Chi Chi. They call them spiked slushes, I call them "heaven sent" during the Arizona Summer. All of the food was a hit for the table and my family understood why I suggested EP for lunch! I said our Server was "electric" and that's because they made our experience very enjoyable. It was appreciated and I will return again for lunch and pickleball (in the evenings) during the hot summer!

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back!
