We went for our anniversary and they made everything special. I have been coming here for years and have always had excellent service. We recently had an experience where our food was burnt and without even having to say much they comped our entire meal AND gave us a gift card to come back without us asking for any of that. The service is always spot on and food is great. Live music is also awesome when you are able to catch it. Im writing this mostly for a big shoutout to our server Morgan. We had a group of like 30, a volleyball team with parents and were in need of a big table for lunch. This can turn into a total clusterf*** but they were not only able to seat us but did so with grace. Sure the food took awhile but we could easily have been in far worse place. Fried chicken had the perfect crunch and juicy! Cobb Salad had great flavor. Culinary Dropout has several locations through-out the valley. I went to the one in Gilbert on a week night. The buttersquash and Kale salad was outstanding and a large portion that I had enough for the next day. The service was excellent and I did not feel rushed at all. They allowed us to stay past the closing time. It is an excellent vibe. I know they have music there but I have never seen it. I highly recommend this place. The only thing I didn't like is that you can't park right in front of the restaurant and have to park in a garage or across the street. That is not the restaurant's fault as all the restaurants near there have the same situation so no stars are taken off. I know you can host a private dining event as I have looked into that in the past. My wife and I went to dinner with some friends at Culinary Dropout tonight. This place is huge and has televisions at the bar and several others around the restaurant. There's a little stage for live music inside the restaurant. We made a reservation and arrived a little early. Just enough time to order a drink from the bar. The bar was busy but a bartender was quick to take our order. There was a nice selection of draft beers and cocktails. My wife got a Room Service and our friends got the Evil Jungle Princess, both were delicious! Once we were seated, our server came over within a few minutes to provide specials and take any orders if needed. I was looking for a good sandwich or burger and ordered the shaved prime rib dip, recommended by our server. My wife and one friend ordered the salmon and our other friend ordered the Mongolian Short Rib. The sandwich was good, I could have used more horseradish but that's just my opinion. I was told the salmon and short rib dishes were very good. If I had to base my review solely on my sandwich, it would be probably a 3.5-4, but factoring in the rest of the food, the drinks, and the service, I have to give it a 5. The amazing part of about downtown Gilbert is plenty of free parking. Culinary Dropout is right next to the covered parking lot. The whole place has an incredible atmosphere. There's two private rooms for events and there's a small stage for live music. There's an open air bar and ample indoor and outdoor seating. The waitresses were nice enough to make some recommendations. I tried out their spicy vegan curry and monkey bread (cinnamon apple brioche with vanilla cream). The curry had the right amount of spice. I felt that the dessert was a little on the small side. The only real foible is how expensive the food is with $20+ entrees and $11+ desserts. However, that extra you pay for the food is made up by the amazing ambience, stellar service, and free access to games. They have cornhole, ping pong, and foozball. We started with the White Truffle Deviled Eggs as an appetizer and they were tasty. We each had a sandwich with the house salad. The Crispy Chicken Katsu sandwich was delicious! It comes on toasted bread with an amazing spicy coleslaw. The shaved Prime Rib sandwich is served on a soft bun and comes with melted fontina and a crazy good au jus for dipping. What we ordered: Crispy Popcorn Shrimp: 5/5 The shrimp was nicely fried, not overcooked. The roasted garlic aioli was everything, easily made it one of my top favorite items we ordered for the night. Hot Wings: 4/5 Wasn't as spicy as I was imagining, which was good. The wings were tender, juicy, and standard in taste. What really made the wings memorable was the side of the creamy home-made ranch. House Potato Chips: 4/5 This one had mixed reviews in our party. One member said the onion dip was way too salty, while a few of us said it wasn't salty at all. The chips themselves were nice and thin. Crispy Shrimp Caesar Salad: 3/5 Salad and dressing were tossed evenly. Standard in taste. The shrimp, however, was way too crisp and a little tough to chew. Ma...The Meatloaf: 4/5 Standard in flavor. It was pretty delicious and much better than the other entrees I have ordered from there. I don't like it when places are too crowded. It didn't seem too noisy but there was a lot of chatter that could be heard from other patrons. Met my friend for a quick bite! We shared the pork nachos and hot wings (finished on the grill). The nachos were AWESOME! 10/10 would order again. The hot wings were good too, I got them finished on the grill for that extra crisp. Their ranch dipping sauce is made in house and that was addicting! Overall atmosphere is very up beat and trendy with a lot of seating options (outside, at the bar or in the restaurant). My only complaint was a server (not ours) dropped a series of plates right next to our table and a large piece of the plate hit the front of my foot. Thankfully I had high top converse on so I did not get injured. However, the server never said a word to me or my friend "so sorry" or "are you okay"? Instead, she ran to the dishpit, slammed the rest of the plates down and ran to the back. Two other guys came out and swept the mess up. Hey! I get it! It's embarrassing but at the end of the day, check in with the customers or say something to a manager...? Ps.
