If all avocado toasts were like this, I don't know why anyone would choose something else! The sourdough bread was lightly toasted but not so stiff that it scraped up my mouth. The flavors of the toppings gave it a hearty, yet sweet decadence and the aioli really sealed the deal! I really wanted to like this place more. Seen it on social and Google and I wanted to try it out. It was okay. It's smaller than I thought they have about 15 tables. Tried the strawberry colada mimosa as it was the special of the month. I only tasted champagne with hint if strawberry no coconut. Name felt slightly misleading. Food: I got the banana foster French toast - this was really good not to sweet, nice crunchy ends with soft middle. Per usual no combo for French toast so a side of bacon was $4 and so are potatoes. They do offer a platter for $7 but it includes eggs which i did not want. We ordered side of chicken it needed seasoning bad. We waited for 25 minutes after being told there would be a 10-15 minute wait. After 10 minutes of waiting, a booth opened up that clearly should have been used to seat us. Apparently because the booth would seat one more than our party of four, it was held back. At this point there were at least two additional parties of four also waiting to be seated. After no communication from the host, a group of five that arrived well after us was seated there before us. We let the host know that it was ridiculous and left. This is our second less-than-satisfactory visit here. We absolutely won't be coming back. This was an impressive failure to provide basic customer service. I've been eyeing this spot for a while and glad I could finally try it! With a western spin on breakfast, there are lots of options between egg dishes, breakfast burritos, and waffles/french toast. I ordered the breakfast nachos with beans and subbed the shredded pork for bacon. It was a lot of food. It was delicious though very much a chilaquile type dish. The chips are house made and very crunchy. I tried the cookie butter French toast which was made into a platter. This includes eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The French toast does have that fried flavor to it which isn't my favorite but it was good. Definitely a different type than typical smashed looking French toast dishes at breakfast spots. These were stacked and fluffy. The service was quick and once you order you choose where to sit which is nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating with bathrooms available as well. The food at this place absolutely never disappoints. It is always amazing and I have been here several times. The breakfast nachos are insane and so so good!! However the service put a terrible taste in our mouths. We came in on April 26th around 10 am and the women at the front taking orders was the least friendly person I have encountered in awhile let alone someone who's in the service industry. She seemed very inconvenienced to be there and made us feel very rushed ordering. I came here with some girlfriends to catch up, but most importantly at the time- consume caloric gains to make up for the lack of while running and producing an awards gala the day prior. They don't seat you until you order and one of us was running late, which "gave" us time to peruse through the menu. Luckily though when she did arrive it was before a mini rush, so no time needed to wait for a table. The employees were super nice - taking us thru the menu and how they operate. Counter order and table service. Had it not been a warm day, we would've sat outside (they have both inside and outside seating). It appears they have daily specials, but I went with a hearty stack of pancakes and some eggs on the side. As good as their prices are on drinks.. I just needed a hit of caffeine to get me thru that day. It be like that sometimes! We didn't have to wait long for breakfast and the girls kept the coffee flowing from cup to my veins. We've driven past here so many times and finally stopped in. Well worth the stop. Hubs had the smash burger and waffle fries and it was huge. He loved it and ate the whole, giant thing. The waffle fries are perfectly salted, crispy, yet soft inside. I gave 4 not 5 stars because I had the waffle fry sausage and gravy plate but there wasn't really any gravy. Cute spot tucked away in a small plaza at Gilbert and Guadalupe. A friend picked this place and I was pleasantly surprised! You order at the counter before taking a table. They do not take reservations. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. Turnover is quick since it's self-serve aside from food delivered to your table. The food was very tasty and portions were generous. They serve alcohol, and there was always a steady line of people ordering for dine-in or takeout, which says a lot. Parking is also decent. The place is small with limited seating space but if lucky enough you can stay cool and sit inside. Tried Thanks a Brunch twice now and I'm kinda torn. The first time was takeout brunch and overall it was decent. The bacon and tomatillo pork were good, and the burrito was fine, though I wasn't a big fan of the avocado in it. The classic waffle wasn't anything special but it was okay enough. About a month later I came back on a Sunday to dine in with my mom and my toddler. That part was honestly great. We were able to order right away and got a table immediately, which is huge when you have a kid. Service was pretty good and very accommodating. The food though was pretty so-so. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. It was huge but only had one egg inside, which felt kinda ridiculous. I cut it in half, ate one side, and it could barely stay together. The egg was also a little undercooked for my liking. The sausage itself was tasty and the sourdough was decent. We tried the classic waffle again and it was not good. The batter is super sweet and tastes kind of artificial. We also ordered a side of waffles fries (they were served to us with a fork?) and bacon and both were pretty sad looking. The bacon was undercooked and just not great. One bright spot was the cold brew, which was actually really good. Overall, I love the convenience, quick seating, and kid friendly vibe, but the food has been inconsistent. Quiet little brunch cafe in Gilbert. Been meaning to try for so long and finally went. It's a "order at the counter and find yourself a table" kind of place which I like. We were greeted immediately and offered menus. I opted for the special which was the southern fried chicken Benedict. Fried chicken breast on an English muffin covered in hollandaise sauce, bacon, hot honey, over medium eggs and pickled red onion. Served with a side of country potatoes. Very tasty and a large portion, I always love the sweet, salty, spicy dynamic in my food. Everything was cooked perfectly. I also ordered the bananas foster cold brew which was also very tasty. Wifey ordered the Bennie Burrito which has bacon, tots, pickled onions and Chipotle aioli in the burrito, then it is topped with a crispy cheese skirt, over-medium eggs, Green Chili hollandaise, pico de gallo. Her order actually came out first and she offered me a bite and I immediately wondered if I made the wrong choice with my order. Overall the food was really good, I like the order and pay up front places so when you're done you're all paid up and can leave without waiting for the check. I was looking for a brunch place the day after Thanksgiving that was open in the afternoon and the options in my area were slim until I found Thanks A Brunch. What a gem! Casual, counter serve brunch spot with ample seating and nice decor. I loved the books hanging on the wall for a cool look. The menu had some tasty looking savory options but I was feeling something sweet and couldn't pass on the churro french toast. The server said it was a top choice so I went for it. I got that as a platter and that wasn't the best bacon, egg & potato I've ever had but it did the job. Thanks a Brunch has a menu that offers breakfast burritos and tacos, Benedicts, French toast, avocado toast and hangover bowls. They also have a lunch menu if don't want breakfast. Many of the brunch spots in the Phoenix area are more upscale and fancy. What I liked about Thanks a Brunch is that the atmosphere is a little more casual. It makes for a much more relaxing environment. These guys serve quality food that is loaded with colorful ingredients. They have a number of creative entrées on the menu to order from. I ended up getting the Tomatillo Pork Eggs Benedict and their Campfire Cold Brew with Foam. I was drawn to the Elote Avocado Toast and ordered one of those too. I love when successful food trucks create such a following that going bricks and mortar makes sense. This is the story about Thanks A Brunch in Gilbert Arizona that did just that. Today was my first visit, and I went on the recommendation of my yelping daughter and her fiancé. We went about noon time today (Sunday), and it was pretty packed. The flow of the restaurant is that you get in line and work your way up to the cash register where you order and get a number and then look for a place to sit. When we got up to the cash register all the tables were full, so we ordered to go. Fortunately, right after we paid a table opened up. This is not my favorite type of concept as I would much rather be seated at a table and get a table service. The menu is full of the namesake dishes from classic brunch. There's a large selection of breakfast, burritos, breakfast tacos, French toast, waffles, and egg and meat sandwiches. There's also a limited selection of alcoholic drink drinks, including a couple of mimosas, and coffee. All the food was really good, but I think all three of us were in all of the French toast. It's a carb bomb deluxe. The inside is pretty simple with a number of four top tables and a couple of two seat high tops. There's also three or four tables outside under some shade umbrellas. All in all it's a pleasant experience, and the food is good, but at my age I don't like standing in line to order my food. That by itself is the reason I can only go with four stars. read more

I was surprised that when I walked in how small it was and that you had to order at the counter. It was a busy Sunday and the women taking orders was also delivering the, taking calls, and giving the to-go orders out. The gravy was watery and then they add their fresh sausage to it a there was no gravy to enjoy. The potatoes were good. My daughter loved her waffle and got the potatoes, bacon and eggs as well. You have to order before you sit down but they will bring your food to you. I had the tomatillo pork eggs, Benedict, and it was quite tasty! This is my second visit to Thanks a Brunch. I went on a Sunday for lunch and it was packed! The line was almost out the door the whole time I was there. You order first and then wait for a table. They do a good job enforcing that and have multiple signs. That's a good thing because after I saw how crowded it was I didn't want to take up a table for just me. So I ordered to go. It took 30 minutes to get my food. The restaurant is pretty small but they have 3 tables outside too. I got the blackberry pistachio French toast. It's probably much better looking when you get it in the restaurant. I also got a classic burrito but I'm saving it for another meal. The French toast is kind of dry. The blackberry sauce is good and it has a cream cheese filling that was also tasty but the filling was only an about half the French toast stack. I'll update my review after I eat the burrito. My son and I were excited to try this place because of the reviews. We had no wait as it was shortly after the prime lunch hour, it was just before 2PM. It's an order at the counter, pay and provided a table number to wait for your order that is then brought out to you. I had the Red Onion Jam & Feta Burger and my son got the Hollan-Daze in Phoenix Burger. They were both piled high & delicious. I had a side of tots and my son had the waffle fries which is a side included with the meal. I generally don't care for waffle fries, but they were really good. They were a decent size and had just the right amount of seasoning, plus they were cooked just right. Crispy and tasty as well. The service was fine. The young gal up front walked us through their process from start to finish which we appreciated. Only downside I'd say; tables could have used a little bit more attention! Meaning, making sure they're clean for the next customers. Wiped down and sanitized, so patrons aren't sitting down at a dirty table. Filling and topping off condiments could have been a good thing also! Note- the first restrooms door unbeknownst to me at the time, didn't lock! As I was using it, my son opened the door and thank goodness it was him! I tried locking it again a few more times with no success! We ordered takeout from Thanks A Brunch and overall the experience was mixed. The breakfast burritos were decent -- the Country Breakfast Burrito had good flavor and was filling, but the green chile pork burrito was surprisingly bland and didn't have much depth or heat. The French toast has consistently come out on the darker side -- not burnt, but more cooked than we prefer, so it loses the soft, fluffy texture you expect from French toast. We also ordered eggs with it and requested them over easy, but when we got home both yolks were punctured. On top of that, the ink from the packaging paper had transferred onto the eggs, making them inedible, which was really disappointing. Service was adequate -- the order was ready in a reasonable amount of time, but nothing stood out. Overall, the food is fine, but the execution and packaging need more attention, especially for takeout. With a few small improvements, this place could deliver a much better experience. read more

I decided to try this place again because my girlfriend heard good things about it and wow! It was so good! We will be back. I guess the first time was just a fluke but I believe in second chances and the food was amazing this time.
