Menu is easy to see plenty of different sandwiches to choose from, drink fountain is available for free refills and plenty of area to sit inside. This will be the last time I go to Firehouse Subs. It doesn't matter what time I go what day I go they always mess up my sandwich or one of my family members sandwiches. It's just ridiculous. I ordered from this location today for the first time as I recently moved to Gilbert and this location is closest to me. I ordered my sandwich online through the app. I ordered a medium veggie sandwich and I took off the tomatoes, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and caramelized peppers, Italian dressing, and mayo and added raw onion, raw peppers, pepperoncini, jalapeños, pickles, cucumbers, black olives, oil and vinegar, and yellow mustard. I still wanted the cheese melted and purposely unchecked the "cold meat and cheese" box and asked for the bread to be extra toasted. After standing at the counter without being acknowledged for about 10 minutes (I was the only one in line) someone finally came up to take my order. After finally ordering I ended up waiting 40 minutes until they called me up and were trying to figure out what my order was. Wasn't even a weekend. I'm very disappointed and will not be coming back. The service was abysmal on Sunday 5/18 from the 3-4 pm hours. Not only did it take but 20 minutes for my girlfriend and I to receive our sandwiches but we were not even acknowledged for about 5 minutes. Considering we were the only ones in line, this is unacceptable. Given the usual "we're understaffed" excuse and "we have a lot of orders" is quite a stretch when at the most there were only 6 people in the store. The night crew very rude and unprofessional. This is not the first time this has happened! A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went in at 8:25pm not knowing they close at 9pm. The worker seemed very annoyed, we looked at the closing time saw it closed at 9pm and left. I have been in the food and beverage industry for years and understand the frustration of the last few customers of the night. (I know, open until 9pm means they serve until 9pm) but I don't like that. We told the worker sorry and left due to the time and him doing closing duties. We then came back today around 7:25pm. only one other customer in there. Both workers seem to be very annoyed with us coming in and them having to do their jobs... as if we were an inconvenience. My boyfriend is a first responder, asked for the discount and just got very rude attitude from worker. I get everyone has bad days, but this is now two visits (same employees) that seem to not be happy about customers that come in. Firehouse subs has some of the best subs in the business. There are several places to eat close to my work but I go to Firehouse 4 to 5 times a week. The reason...great people working there, super clean ALWAYS, and the food tastes great. When I buy lunch for the office, it's from Firehouse! Came in at noon on Tuesday and there were only 4 customers in the dinning room. No one in line which was great. Gave my order; paid; grabbed a drink and selected a bag of chips. After a few minutes I decided to start on my chips before the sandwich arrived. That's where it went down hill; my sandwich took another 15 minutes. Not only did I finish my chips but also my drink. I had this for the first time last week because, truth be told, we were too late to another favorite sub place, so we thought we'd give this place a try. We were not doing disappointed! I had the bbq steak and it was the mouse delicious tender meat with just the right about of Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce, which is my FAVORITE! There are only three customers, my husbandand i and another man and these kids cant even clean up the seating area with all their down time. All they are doing is laughing and playing on their phones. Not a good image for a sub place that says its by firemen. Almost every time we try to do a special order (e.g.-add jalepenos or no mayonnaise, etc) something INVARIABLY gets screwed up. This place is SUPER CUTE, I have to say. The tables with the dalmatian spots are to-die-for. MOST of the staff is friendly, the girl ringing us up did not seem amused at anything or interested in anything other than taking our order, but maybe she was just having an off day. Everyone else was nice, and they bring your sandwiches to the table. As far as taste, I enjoyed my sandwich. The turkey is really good. The bread is a little thick for my preference but it was still delicious. They also have this crazy soda machine with a zillion flavors. I don't drink soda so I can't attest to the taste but it's pretty cool. One thing...I have never waited SO LONG for a sandwich in my whole life. My goodness. I got a basic turkey, nothing special, and waited at least 10 minutes. And it didn't seem THAT busy. read more
