today I went into firehouse subs and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and generous recommend coming here.

I've been to this Firehouse Subs location many times over the past 15 years as it's close to my work and a quick place for lunch. The employees change over quite often but they are always friendly so the managers must do a good job of hiring and training their employees. The location is one of the better ones as there's good natural lighting out the eastern windows and they have ample seating inside and a larger patio with tables on the east, SE and south side of the building...so you can normally find share or sun pending your preference. The subs here are above average. They have steamers for their meats and cheeses so they melt together and have enhanced flavor. The bread is average and sometimes will be under toasted or over toasted. They have the standard add-on toppings, and also have a hot sauce bar with different brands and Scoville levels of sauce. For drink selections, they have a large Coke Freestyle machine, but they more often than not have some or all the flavorings out of stock. What's the point of this machine if there's no vanilla peach Coke? They brew their own unsweet and sweet tea as well. Once I tried to pile it back together and after the use of 14 napkins it was still a disaster. Stood at counter while female and male engaged in personal conversation, female looked up at me, went back to conversation. Finally did a "ahem" and got a container. If this place is losing customers or not meeting sales goals there is an easy reason why. Food was fine. No issues there. Oh soda machine never had ice my whole stay. So my son loves his subs and after soccer we generally stop here at least once a week. We finished a practice with another friend and headed there. The father ordered online ahead of time - we ordered at the restaurant. My son is 10 yrs old so our sub is super basic - double salami and cheese plain (literally nothing else). I was very clear to the gentleman taking the order. Our friends arrived shortly after we ordered. We all waited about about 10 mins for our subs despite it not being busy. When they arrive our friend who ordered online had a sandwich made that was exactly opposite of what the ticket said. He showed it to the staff and they said "sorry online orders sometimes say no ingredients by accident (his was intentional) and we ignore it bc we think it was a glitch. He asked them to remake it as asked. They did however took another 10 minutes and it was still wrong when he got it. At this point they just took the food and decided to remove the ingredients later. Once our friends got their food i asked if my son's had been remade and a boy said "what was wrong with the first one" which i replied again it was made wrong and you guys were supposed to be replacing it - which wasnt done. After that, one of the female staff members took over and apologized. Took three minutes to make. I understand mistakes happen however these were 2 different orders (made 2 different times wrong) and still no one went out of their way to fix the situation. The one girl that helped did apologize and that's appreciated but how do 3 different people screw up an order for 2 different people twice?! read more

Firehouse has always been one of my go to sandwich chains, but this time left me wanting a little more. The service was poor and the food came out after about a 20 min wait with no other customers in the store. ordered one of their hot sub for lunch today. The ingredients and taste are ok, but there is a lot of room for improvement for their cooking method: I opted for extra lettuce and tomatoe, and I guess they toasted the sandwich at the last minute, which caused the water from the produce to leak out. It became so serious that the water leak out of the paper bag and into my car seat eventually. I am just talking about a 2-mile drive, and I picked up the sub right after it was done. This doesn't happen to me when I bought a TOGO sandwich, as the produce are dried to begin with. BTW, the folks working there doesn't sound too happy working there either. read more

I just found out that they are running a program called name of the day. Name of the Day for 12/10: If your first name starts with Sh or Si, show your photo ID at any participating U.S. Firehouse Subs and get a free medium sub with any purchase. New name tomorrow. Due to nationwide product shortages, some locations may be unable to offer shredded lettuce as a topping. I will have to start keeping an eye out for that. I got their new Prime Rib Steak Sub that is being offered for a limited time only. It is a seated, slow-cooked prime rib, melted provolone, and caramelized onions with garlic mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, and tomato, all on a toasted sub roll. I had the garlic Mayo and the deli mustard on the side. What I now realize is that without those items the sandwich is quite plain. I thought I wouldn't like those spreads but they are actually really good. I guess next time I will just keep it on the sandwich. read more

I paid a beef and cheddar brisket combo and while waiting for it to be prepared I noticed that out of the 4 people behind the counter the person who was actually preparing the food was very sick. We've missed having this franchise near us. I ordered a meatball sub and my son ordered the Italian. He scarfed his down. I know it was good because he's picky. The wheat bread was really good. Meatballs and sauce were tasty, too. The staff greeted us upon arrival. The gentleman who took our order was polite and friendly. Our order was received quickly. This location is very clean and organized, and offers a lot of size and variety options. Desserts look scrumptious. We we're also thanked and wished a good evening as we left. Always loved firehouse. Good food good service. Tough to say I'm probably moving on to a different sandwich shop. Slow service, and the value is awful now. The medium sub is now about 3 inches wide and has about half as much meat. This location has always been solid but this trip was anything but. Manager was rudi ding a client and I was waiting to order, there were like 5 other people behind me. They had 4 employees cleaning and 1 making sandwiches. Needless to say food was not coming out like normal. I'm probably going to switch to Ike's or knuckles or even subway at this point. Sad read more

This restaurant is being run by a bunch of highschoolers that have no idea what they are doing. I have gift cards that I have purchased but now say they are declined and nobody was able to figure it out. When I asked for the area supervisor to call me. I got the runaround as they ran to the back to call her in secret and she refused to call me. And people wonder why this place is vacant every time I go by. I purchase $100-$150 of gift cards 2 times a year. This is not the first time I have had trouble with their gift cards. I should learn, and I have now. Fantastic service recovery.... My hub and I ordered two large turkey bacon ranch subs a few weeks ago and they were cold and the bread was hard. I was headed out of town at that point but the manager I spoke to on the phone said he would keep my receipt up front and that the next time we came in, they would make them for us again on the house. I like Firehouse Subs for their premium tasty sandwiches, they're absolutely outstanding! Recently I've found it somewhat harder to swallow their premium prices. Years ago, the late Clara Peller became famous for her TV commercial "Where's the Beef?", while complaining at a burger place called, "Home of the Big Bun". While Firehouse isn't that bad, they are close and Which Wich isn't too far behind either for the same reason. I'm tired of trying to figure out who is giving out 3oz, or 4oz of deli meat on their subs. What I truly enjoy is a creative, well made sandwich, that has er, some beef on it, or in Firehouse's case, some meat. Quiznos went though bankruptcy, I believe because they forgot that consumers could see them weighing the meat on a scale, and then removing a slice or two when it was too much. Okay, here's my beef (pun intended). A group of us came here for lunch and universally found our checks in the $11.00 range. So that's a sandwich 12" long, meat, chips and a drink. How much does a 1/4 lb of the most expensive deli meat cost at Fry's or AJ's? Sadly, we've found it easier just going to Jimmy Johns down on Chandler Boulevard, asking for double meat and paying $9.50 for the same setup. I give the manager of this location high marks for draining the liquid from the heated pastrami/corn beef NY Steamer after it came out of the oven. I was in a Firehouse in Florida recently where they forgot to do this and the sandwich just a mushy mess. In summary, "Yes, I am a Fan" of Firehouse Subs, particularly for all the local Outreach they do for our Bravest. But I only hope they consider taking their thumb off the scale and put some real meat on those sandwiches. Enjoy! read more

This was my 2nd time having Firehouse Subs and I really liked it, just as I did the first time I tried it. I love everything, from the friendly chant of "Welcome to Firehouse!" from the employees when you walk through the door, to the atmosphere, the food, and of course, the Coke Freestyle on their soda machine. I enjoy creating my own drink concoctions. I had the Sliced Chicken Breast sandwich on wheat and it was delicious. Also got the large drink, a bag of chips, and a brownie for dessert. For the money, I found it to be a great deal and I would definitely recommend Firehouse Subs to anyone looking for a new place to try. read more

Didn't help the other employees and would start talking to others(not even customers) homeless people and I had my kids with me. It made me and kids very uncomfortable with that because they were doing it for a long time. I don't think that's how you're supposed to show work. But hey go ahead and be my guest. Our dinner plans on Sunday evenings often resolve with us realizing that we're not in the mood to cook followed by a decision to order take out. Fortunately for us, this restaurant is open on Sunday evenings and is less than 5 minutes from our home. What we appreciate most when ordering from this location, apart from the convenience, is the consistently good quality of their sandwiches. I always order the Firehouse Meatball and my fiancée always orders the Engineer. Both of these sandwiches include lots of meat as well as a generous amount of the other usual ingredients. The seasoning is always perfect for us and the bread rolls make for a very satisfying meal. The staff are friendly and courteous, our order is always warm and ready on time, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. read more

I have loved Firehouse Subs for many years. Not so with my last two visits to the location at Gilbert Rd and the 202. A few weeks ago I went in and my sandwich was very dry and had very little meat, but I decided to try one more time, so I ordered two subs online yesterday evening. I waited the allotted time, and then drove to pick up my subs. They were not ready, and there was only one table with three people also waiting. There were many dirty tables and the floor was filthy. Yes, FILTHY. I could see three employees, a lady and two younger gentleman just hanging out and chatting behind the counter. I was told they were still working on my order, yet they were all very involved in their conversation and did not appear to be "working". Once I finally got the sandwiches home, I discovered that my NY Steamer was just a couple of thin slices of meat and some melted cheese along with a tiny amount of mayo and mustard. No lettuce, tomato, onion, etc., yet the only item I opted to leave off was the oil and vinegar dressing. I didn't bother to call and complain because I did not want to wait another 40 minutes to eat. I am so extremely disappointed. With all the hundreds of other choices for sub sandwiches around, I will not be back, and I will encourage others to skip this establishment. read more

Came here for a sub and left with a big ole smile on my face! Firehouse subs totally hit the spot. They serve hot subs, and was amazed at how good they tasted. I had the #3 which was roast beef and pastrami with all the fixings. They do have a great selection of hot sauces here, but I didn't try any of them. The subs here come in 2 sizes, 8 inch and 12 inch. Prices are actually quite reasonable, and I feel like I got a lot more then I paid for. Tasty bread, a filling meal, and enough sub to make me happy. They even sell their pickle buckets here. Their those big drum looking things that are probably hold at least 5 gallons of goods for $2. I guess the $2 goes towards a fireman's charity or something, but either way, its for a good cause. Anyways, this place is worth checking out. :-) read more

I absolutely love the New York Steamer sandwich, but when I went in today to place my order, I was distracted by the cashier inquiring about my adorable grand-daughter (who I was holding) and I guess I said Engineer instead of Steamer.
