A cute little eatery in the heart of downtown Mesa. Our server was simply fantastic, delivering service with a smile. My partner ordered a grilled cheese sandwich served with a tomato soup and she gleefully ate all in front of her. It's not often that I witness Cubanos on the menu and so that was my order served with French fries, extra crispy, please. My Cubano was near perfect let down only by sweet versus dill pickles. That's simply my personal preference and did not get in the way of my sucking down the whole sandwich and most of the fries. It's been a while since I've been to Worth, it's a cute place with good food. The people that work there are friendly. I was at Tuesday night trivia across the street and needed some dinner, decided Worth is good and it's been a while. I followed suit with the name, and did takeaway to bring our food to trivia. I split the order with my partner. I liked the Cuban sandwich, fries, and Mac n' cheese. The chicken veggie hash was fairly bland and I wished that I had tried something else. It's the only place to stop if you want a legit sandwich when in Mesa. Fast turnaround. Always fresh bread, great ingredients and attention to detail. Came in this morning for breakfast to check the place out for first time. I liked the decor of the restaurant. It gave me a clean farmhouse feel. Very comfortable and clean. I ordered the Cali Breakfast Burrito. In the menu it said it was $15.00. When the cashier rang it up it came up as $16.95? Ummmm okay! I decided to not say anything and just hope for a big old burrito to enjoy. Unfortunately that's not what I received. It was in the slim side for sure and had more fries than meat inside. I was hoping for a little more steak. I did however rather enjoy the green tomatillo salsa that was served with it. It was only enough for half of the burrito. Worth Takeaway? Worth it! Been coming to this spot for more than six years now. I'm surprised I have written about this place before. I'm a huge fan of their hot honey chicken sandwiches but recently, I had their weekly special of a steak and bleu cheese sandwich and whoa. It was a great sandwich. I had it with fries and had their Jim Bob's Grandma's Cookie (oatmeal, butterscotch, chocolate chips, coconut, and pecans) afterwards for dessert. It was a great meal after having since ciders. I'm always intimidated by downtown Mesa parking but I saw a crunch wrap on Worth Takeaway's menu and had to have it. I ordered online and was able to find parking quickly! Worth Takeaway has a nice patio out front and even around 130ish there were 4 or 5 people eating out there. My order was ready quickly and packaged very nicely! I chose fries as my side and noticed the online ordering offered a fries without seasoning option which I'm sure is appreciated by some. The crunch wrap was delicious! It came with a side of "hot sauce" but I preferred a hotter one I have at home. And the fries were great -- very fresh and definitely "homemade". They even packed a little to go cup of ketchup which was very thoughtful. I also got a cup of tomato soup and this was excellent. Clearly made in house and had good substance to it. I have been to worth takeaway, but it's been years since. I don't really go to downtown Mesa that often because it's not very close to me, but I was in the area and needed a quick snack, so I decided just to get one of their cookies in the display case. I got the cranberry white chocolate chip cookie, and it took me by surprise because it was one of three best cookies I have ever had. Everything about it was perfect, the texture, and depth of flavor, the flaky salt on top. I am late to the party by many years, and dozens of my Yelp friends have raved about Worth Takeaway. I'm still going to add to the consensus that it's absolutely amazing for lunch. First of all, the location is amazing--you can walk here from the light rail, but it's also so sparsely populated (This is not a real downtown, sorry.) one might find street parking right outside the front door. You can expect a real casual spot with counter service, and a menu centered around sandwiches with much better ingredients and prep than anyone else. I ordered a Chicken, Bacon, and Ranch, and it was the best I've had in quite some time. Fresh, soft, and flaky rolls supported a chicken breast clearly brined and battered in-house. The breading was light enough to avoid being a distraction, and sturdy enough to stay intact. The meat stayed moist, and the thick-cut bacon was a perfect addition. It came with a generous side of seasoned fries, but they make their own chips as well. Don't be dismayed by long lines here--people were constantly pouring in and out, but the kitchen ran so smoothly that I had my food in 10 minutes or so despite crowding. There isn't much seating inside, but the comfortable patio will do for most of the year. This will be on list of places to visit any time I find myself in Mesa. read more

Worth Takeaway has been on my list for over a year and this weekend we were in Mesa and finally had the opportunity to stop by. What a great sandwich spot. Within 30 seconds of being there, I knew it was going to be a great spot. The service was 10 out of 10 from the moment we stepped in the door. Incredibly friendly staff, made genuine recommendations and were super accommodating. We were with our toddler so we decided to sit on the patio. The staff made sure we were super comfortable out there with umbrellas, cold water, and misters. I had the special which was their take on a crunch wrap, supreme, and my husband had the candied bacon BLT. Both sandwiches were so delicious. It's hard to describe how good the candied bacon was in the BLT, and the crunch wrap was so much better than the real thing. We both got french fries, which were well seasoned and served piping hot. One of my favorite parts of the meal was the seasonal lemonade: pineapple mango. I had a hard time not drinking it all in one go. We will be back soon. Yooo, when did DT Mesa become so cool? After a tarot reading class at Mesa's Haunted Museum and a cider flight at Cider Corps, I needed food. After searching on the Yelp app for nearby vegan eats, we found ourselves at Worth Takeaway. I ended up getting the Veggie Sandwich (sweet potato plank, avocado spread, red onions, tomatoes, and dressed greens on Noble Ciabatta bread). I got mine without onions and it came with a side of seasoned fries. I ate the whole thing minus some of the fries. My friend almost called off our friendship since she apparently loves fries, but I'm glad my sparkling A+++ personality pulled ahead of the fries as a priority in our friendship. I don't know if this place got sold or what happened but this place USED TO BE so good! Now they up charge $2 for fries which we did not know because the fries used to be included. After we got our food the waitress explained to us it's a $2 up charge for fries now but since we didn't order it with the burgers it's now $5! Which we had to now pay to have fries which came out in 5 seconds cold and undercooked. On top of that the patties used to be hand made and now they are some frozen dried out meat. It was just gross! The place is really small and is hard to find seating also. Whatever they are doing they need to go back. People are not that stupid. When you start switching food people ARE GOING TO NOTICE!! Today we were looking forward to our last chance to have the burger before our season here closed. This will be the last time we come here. The burger has completely changed and cheapened. We decided to check this place out after seeing it on here a couple of times for lunch. It was perfect. Super cozy feeling inside. The server was super nice and helpful with everything. I ended up getting the spicy candied BLT (which had the perfect amount of spice) with fries while my husband got the spicy pork ,which doesn't look spicy, but it is in a good way. Then we tried some of their coffees too. I had the cold brew latte while he had the seasonal French toast cold brew which both were tasty. We stopped by Worth Takeaway after a playdate at at the i.d.e.a. Museum, which is waking distance. I'd heard great things about this spot, but overall, it wasn't quite my cup of tea. I ordered the burger, which was good and reminded me of something you'd get at Joe's Farm Grill. However, I'm not a fan of Sriracha aioli, pickles, or tomatoes, so after removing all of that, it ended up being a pretty plain burger. I also tried the Cuban sandwich (without the Dijon mayo), and that too lacked flavor. Between the two, the burger was definitely better. The fries were heavily seasoned, which neither my toddler nor I enjoyed, so they went uneaten--making the meal feel a bit pricey for just a basic burger and sandwich. The $3 chocolate chip cookie, however, was soft and delicious! Our friends really enjoyed their meals, especially the mac and cheese. We arrived on a Tuesday around 4 and it wasn't busy at all. There are limited seats, so I imagine weekends might be hard to come by a place to sit. They have happy hour on some drinks after 4pm. I still gave a 4 star because the staff was super nice and the rest of their group enjoyed their choices. If I visit again, I'd try something different and take advantage of the $5 kids menu. First of all the sandwich is small and costed me 18$... this could be excused if the quality was good, however it was not.
