Nachos were very good I recommend adding chicken. *OH MY LAWDY THE SWEET POTATO FRIES ARE 100% the BEST I've ever had anywhere. They are sooooooooo sooooooo good! Might come back just for the sweet potato fries. *I did find out today that they use seed oils for their food. Came here for a corporate lunch on a Wednesday around noon, and this place was packed to its brim! Since we didn't have a reservation, we ended up waiting about 30 minutes. It seemed like a local favorite lunch spot for people working in the nearby offices. The ambiance was super fun, and I loved all the quirky decor. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and the chicken club sandwich with a few substitutions. Our server was really accommodating with my dietary preferences, and the sandwich was generously portioned. I will start by saying I usually love this place, but today it was not so perfect... I ordered the Perfectly Grilled Cheese with sweet potato fries as the side. The bread on the sandwich was tough, the bacon bits were chewy, hard knots, and the sandwich was dry overall. The sweet potato fries were greasy and tough and not hot. Nothing about what I ordered today was good with the exception of the appetizer, which was the Crisp Korean Brussels and Cauliflower. It was hot, delicious and plentiful so I did not go hungry. Our server was friendly and prompt. He was very quick to refill my drink. I will say that both my chair and our table rocked terribly, so was not very comfortable. Where's the cheese? It was a busy Saturday and we were seated right away because we had reservations. First I want to mention that the service was excellent. I asked our server what he recommended and the Perfectly Grilled Cheese was one of his suggestions. It is listed in the menu as PERFECTLY GRILLED CHEESE brie, four cheese blend, arugula & crispy bacon... served on our grilled spiced pear bread. There was no arugula and the cheese was basically nonexistent. The bread, while it was tasty, was dry. The sandwich was so disappointing. I should've said something to the server, but that isn't something I feel comfortable doing. I will be back as there are so many good things on the menu that I've enjoyed in the past. So yummy! I got the tukee pear with chicken and the bacon bits were perfectly crunchy, chicken was flavorful and cooked well, and the quesadilla shell was crisp while still being a bit soft. Pepper jack cheese was also gooey and overall it was great with or without the dip! My partner got a spicy ginger quinoa bowl and it was also really good, the pumpkin seeds added a really nice savory crunch and brussel sprouts were cooked well and had plenty of flavor. The butternut squash and other ingredients were great. The only thing was the lemonade tasted a bit artificial but I still liked it. I haven't been to Perfect Pear for 5 years, and this place has changed...for the better!!! Before COVID, all I would order was the green chili mac and cheese and never explored the rest of the menu. I regretted that I waited so long for not trying out the quinoa bowl!! I added falafel to mine and my friend added chicken to hers. YUMMY x 100000! Another dish I tried this time: The hummus nachos! I would highly recommend it! It huge and needs 4 people to finish! My friend and I both had leftover to take home. Last but not least, they are pet-friendly! My friend brought our puppy and we sat at the patio for the meal. The only slight discomfort from sitting outdoors was the mosquitoes. I got bit 4 times. Honestly didn't have a bad bite here - everything was SO good! I got the French pantry sandwich and the pear Cobb salad as a side, husband got the green chile grilled cheese, and we split the green chile cheese dip and the pumpkin brownie!! The dip and the sandwiches (and the side of fries) were amazing - very flavorful and satisfying. The French pantry sandwich in particular was so yummy and satiating, my husband took a bite and loved it too! Portions were big and we ended up bringing half of nearly everything home, so needless to say I am very excited for my lunch tomorrow (lol). No pictures of the pumpkin brownie because it disappeared too fast for me to pull my phone out - DIVINE! We initially were going to their new Chandler Blvd location but changed to the Tempe store at the request of a friend. We've eaten here previously but it's been a long while. We had our choice of seating when we arrived (11am) and it wasn't long before the place was packed with people waiting to sit. Sorry about no photos this time around but when the girls are together, lots of talking! Their menu has a great combination of sandwiches, salads, soups, tacos and everything is fresh made and delicious. I had the Lemon Garlic Linguini, haven't had it before but was needed a good hardy lunch today. I also added chicken, which I loved the seasoning on the chicken...that alone had some great flavor. The linguini was cooked perfectly and was full of big slices of zucchini and broccoli. There was also several small plum tomatoes that were cooked along with the other veggies and sauce along with some arugula. The sauce was ok...it really needs the lemon flavor bumped up to count as a Lemon Garlic sauce and I also thought it had a bit too much oil in it. Overall an ok dish of food. Maybe a piece of garlic toast to help sop up the sauce? Wife had the Butternut Squash Tacos, which she loved. There was quinoa, arugula, onions and feta cheese and a bit of their southwest cream sauce, which she also asked for on the side. Served on two corn tortillas that were warmed up. There was a choice of sides and she asked for the special broccoli salad, which she feel in love with! No bacon, which she liked and said the sauce was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. I had wanted some ice tea and our server, Jon, was gracious enough to bring a couple of samples of both their green tea and their watermelon tea...skipped both as neither we cared for. This is a cute little spot in Tempe! My friend and I came here for the first time, and we came in around 8pm on a Friday night (they close at 9pm!) The lighting was intimate and the restaurant felt rustic yet cozy. There were only a few people in the restaurant when we got there, so we got seated right away. I really enjoyed the food and the selection! I think it's so cool they have many tasty variations of grilled cheeses and Mac and cheese. I ordered the pesto grilled cheese and was not disappointed. I loved that the bread was baked with cheese, so it was like a very cheesy bread (the taste was similar to an Asiago bagel). The fries were good as well. Our waiter was efficient and satisfactorily friendly. Overall, I think this is a great place to come if you're looking for healthy comfort food, and especially great if you're vegetarian because there are lots of vegetarian options! The food was truly outstanding (my wife wanted to make sure I added that it was excellent). Reviews were good but the food was just meh. The Pear salad was a good concept but there was hardly any lettuce, it was all hazelnuts and dried cranberries. I want a lot of greens in my salad! The roasted hazelnuts were chewy and did not taste roasted, I think raw hazelnuts with a crunch would be better. The Green quinoa bowl was WAY too salty and soupy due to too much pesto and watery quinoa. The vodka noodles were ok, but there were more tomatoes than noodles. I think there are good concepts, but it's not done right. Food was edible but we will not return, too many great restaurants out there. read more
