Mother Earth with chicken
Winnie L.

Pro-tip: don't let the line scare you away, it moves really fast, and the food comes out quickly as well. Highlights: I came for a work lunch and even though the place was packed and my party had almost 10 people, I was really surprised with how fast our food had come out. I got the mother earth bowl and thought it was so delicious! I've already recommended it to other others. Lowlights: It's six dollars to add the most basic protein of chicken seems pretty steep. In the future, I feel like I would just take my order to go and put my own protein on at home.

Get the Fall Ingredient Salad with chicken. It's delicious!!! That maple miso vinaigrette is fire!

5 Stars for their Fall Ingredient Salad with Chicken! What a delicious salad. That Miso Vinegarette was everything - it just enhanced all of the wonderful flavors of the roasted veggies. Flower Child has indoor and outdoor seating. It's a big space perfect for lots of flower children. The lady at the register was kind and helpful. I'll be back.

Hubby and I LOVE it here! This place is definitely on our weekly rotation, we come here very often and have never had a bad bite. The food is really good and also very healthy - the GF chocolate chip cookie is always a staple. I just started getting their new Green Chile Beef Colorado bowl on a regular basis and it has hit the spot every time. My husband usually gets a steak bowl and the steak is always cooked very well! The staff are too sweet and are always very welcoming. The atmosphere is really warm and friendly, they have lots of big and small tables for people coming alone/on dates or big groups. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking to eat a nice healthy meal!

I came here with a couple of coworkers recently. They ended up having some food and I ended up getting a cookie and a drink. I really like what this company and restaurant stands for in terms of their products and their values. This was my first time here and since I had already eaten, I definitely still wanted to support the business. The cookie that I got was really delicious and I like the self serve tea and lemonade, and especially with Truvia being one of the sugar options. I also like the mural that was painted on one of the back walls that was really pretty to look at while dining. The only critique I have is how small those straws were, and how they kept getting caught in the lid of the drink. Other than that, everything was wonderful and I would definitely come back.

This place is great! From the food to the service they handle it all well. Every time we've went it's been packed, even people waiting out the door. They keep everything running smoothly though. I ordered The Black Bean Falafel Wrap, loved it but I just need to remember to change the wrap to GF. The inside of the restaurant is really pretty too. I am sure we will be frequent flyers!

I used to not the hype for flower child, but now it's one of my absolute favorites, so easy and filling. Also their sweet potato fries are definitely top tier.

Didn't really enjoy it as you're 100% paying for the greens and grains and the protein is just a add on portion that I feel I could do at home with organic goods that'll make more than one bowl. Nothing looked appetizing and learned their braised beef with mash potatoes was a seasoning item :( this "mother's earth" is around 20 with the beef added. Their soup was good but it was really all just soup and one tiny piece of chicken with mushrooms pieces. I don't find this place very creative in their healthy food, it's only greens and add on protein. Salad and go is a better option if salad is your thing but for me it's not so I will not be back :(

Stopped in here for a quick lunch today with a few friends. I've tried Flower Child a few times before and liked the food! It was around 1:30. There was a good amount of people dining but it wasn't super crazy. We were able to order quickly and received our food pretty quick afterwards. My friends ordered the Forbidden Rice Bowl and a kids meal with steak, sweet corn & quinoa and mac & cheese. They liked their dishes. Staff were all friendly and checked to see if we needed anything else a few times. I ordered The Rebel wrap and it was delicious! There was a few pieces of inedible outer layer onion skin but other than that, it was good. I would get it again!

Tasty food but portions can be small for some entrees. Good seating and beverage choices.

The restaurant and outdoor entertainment complex is huge and has a really fun, energetic vibe. According to the bartender, they have ping-pong, pickleball, and a big upstairs outdoor patio with amazing views of Tempe and the surrounding area. There's also a large parking lot, lots of outdoor seating, and even a dog park area, which makes it really easy to spend time here. The bartenders and wait staff were very friendly. Azbel was a great server. I had the bistro steak and fries and the Szechuan lettuce wraps, and both were really good. Portions were generous. During late-night happy hour my total was about $55 for a main entrée, an appetizer, a cocktail, and tip, which felt like a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised that happy hour runs every day Monday through Sunday from 3-6 PM and again from 8 PM to close. I also checked out the event venue on site, and it looks like it would be a great place for a company party, corporate event, or group gathering. I'll definitely be returning in the near future.

Loved this place!…read more First, we had to change our reservation, and the host could not have been nicer. On a busy Saturday night, he graciously allowed us to push it back by an hour, which we really appreciated. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed. The jungle theme, leopard prints, intimate booths, and dramatic overhead lighting created a fun, unique atmosphere. The service was excellent, the cocktails were delicious, and every dish we ordered was a hit. My son said it may have been the best steak tartare he's ever had (although neither of us was a fan of the plantain chips). It was certainly the best tartare I've had in a very long time, with generous chunks of high-quality steak instead of being overly minced. The baked brie dip was outstanding, the grilled oysters were excellent, and my New York strip was cooked perfectly. My only small criticism is that the oyster appetizer came with just three oysters. For a $19 appetizer, I'd love to see at least four. An even number also makes sharing much easier, although my son generously let me have the extra one! Overall, this is a fantastic concept with great food, great service, and a memorable atmosphere. We can't wait to come back.

Lastly, I got the miso cheesecake for dessert and the flavors were incredible! I love the animal and jungle themed decor in this upscale restaurant. We were seated right next to the big stuffed leopard which was fun. Our waitress was super personable but there were a few service mistakes. My entree was missing the potatoes it was supposed to come with. And when they boxed my meal, they didn't include everything like the salad and chimichurri sauce. Luckily I checked and was able to get everything added, but staff shouldn't be neglecting or throwing away part of my meal. I would definitely come back here though as the ambience and food were top notch!

When driving and saw there was a location here in Arizona, I told my coworker this is where we had to have lunch! Walking in, we were immediately greeted and this location is beautiful. We were seated and definitely feel like a clean, new location to join the Chandler, Ahwatukee, Phoenix area. Excited to dive in as I had such a great experience at the previous one. What We Ordered: - Coke + Lime: my good ole standby. Carbonation was just right, and the lime adds the perfect balance of sweetness of the Coca Cola. - San Antonio Tortilla Soup (not pictured): My coworker friend ordered as she is a creature of habit when she sees Chicken Tortilla Soup. She was so quick to try as it was recommended by the hostess who sat us. She'd be the judge of it! And the verdict... she really enjoyed it and said that could have easily been her lunch. - Steak Taco: my coworker said they were pretty good, and very filling as she needed a box to take away as the soup was so filling. - Steak Burger: when ordering, they mentioned due to fat content, this had to be well done. That should have been my indicator to order something else. When it came, I was quickly disappointed and wish I went with the regular burger for the same price point. It came with tomato, lettuce, pickle, and onion versus this one which was pretty plain. Between it being fairly lackluster with toppings, the temperature on the cook deterred me from enjoying. Overall, I wasn't impressed with my food and was also disappointed this location doesn't offer cheesecake like the one in Jacksonville did. Perhaps this was a seasonal item, and I hope that it becomes a staple on all J. Alexander's nationwide as that cheesecake was DIVINE. A miss for me in terms of this visit, but my coworker enjoyed her tortilla soup and tacos so I settled on a 4 Star. I'd return and try different items next time if in the area again for work.

There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give. It made my day to see that sweet little dog hanging at the bar having a treat. This really is kind of a spot that feels like it's probably the hangout spot of many people.
