We ordered a blackberry mojito and pear martini. The mojito wasn't to our taste, so the bartender kindly swapped it for another pear martini. Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation. read more

It was 115 yesterday and they had the door open which it made it insanely hot insane. I had to ask to move us to the back of the restaurant. I ordered the pesto goat cheese spread with crostini - it was way too think and hard as a rock. Very hard to bite in to. The spread needed salt. We ordered the Pacos Tacos. I took off onions and bacon. My husband had it just the way it comes. We really enjoyed those. The black beans it came with was absolutely delish My daughter and her hubby ordered the grilled cheese. We do a sandwich shop lunch date every Friday to get out of the house early. Found Perfect Pair Bistro on Yelp! and decided to give it a go. Well, it was awesome - seated immediately, even though it was fairly busy and had our table server Izzy quickly there to ask if we wanted water and orders for other drinks - we went with Cider Corps Mango Foxtrot, as we always often do - such a good cider and this is on draught here also. Music was a little loud as many people talking loudly to hear but it wasn't too bad - but noticeable! I ordered the Perfect Grilled Cheese and sweet potato fries, which were so good. The bread was like a fruit bread - actually its a spiced pear bread - which is delicious! The wife got the Chicken Club and sweet potato fries, also stating it was one of the nicest sandwiches she has had in a while. We swapped our sandwich halves to get a taste of each and we both rolled our eyes in delight - both were fresh , very tasty and not over-stuffed, making them easier to eat! We had the BEST server, Maddy was such a breath of fresh air in this environment where finding good customer service is rare. She never stopped smiling, it was great! Now to the food and drink. I ordered one of the side salads but I asked if I could have them add fresh pear to it because of course the name of the place is Perfect Pear Bistro so I was naturally craving pears. What a find in the heart of Tempe! A friend invited me to lunch here on. Monday and wow, they were busy! Full parking lot! That was good sign. We shared a Berry Avocado Quinoa Bowl and a Perfectly Grilled Cheese. They even plated them separately for us! (2 plates with half a grilled cheese and French fries on each and 2 bowls with our Berry Avocado quinoa! So sweet and helpful!) Everything was very delicious--fries were seasoned and crispy! The butternut squash tacos were pretty good but to my surprise, the beans that came with it were out of this world amazing. I was shocked at how good the side of beans were that I couldn't stop eating them to take a picture! The Brussels sprouts though, were very disappointing. I couldn't finish them. They were overcooked and mushy the leaves were crispy which was nice but there wasn't even the most mild bite to the inside at all it was all leaves and mush. Not very appetizing to me. The service and ambiance were here was really nice and I'm sure I'll discover over things I like. They can get pretty busy for lunch but nothing crazy in terms of wait times. My favorite item is the French pantry sandwich. It's the perfect mix of crisp, sweet pears and tender juicy chicken with great tang from mustard and balsamic glaze. The bacon jalapeño grilled cheese is also divine. Melty, salty, a little pop of sweet from the onions, and creamy from spinach dip. You cannot go wrong at Perfect Pear! read more

I love getting the perfectly grilled cheese, and a waitress here once told me to do "nine grain bread" and parmesan crusted on the outside and i have no switched my order since! The tacos were great, they definitely have a kick so if you're not into spicy these aren't for you. The French Pantry sandwich was good, I think it was lacking a bit of flavor though. On paper the ingredients all sounded great. The pears didn't add much to it other than a mushy texture. The bread was very light and fluffy. The brie didn't add much depth either. It was one of those dishes with a generous portion and such a delicious variety of ingredients, I didn't want to stop eating it and yet didn't want to overeat! It is served hot and the flavor of the roasted squash, Brussels sprouts was outstanding. I had chicken added to my bowl and it was tender and flavorful. It really added to the dish. My husband enjoyed the Marbled Cuban. It had great flavor and he opted for their sweet potato fries which were a great side to the sandwich. At times, I noticed there wasn't a single staff member on the floor for an extended period. I ordered the falafel taco, which was extremely dry. My wife had the French Pantry chicken sandwich, which she felt had value due to the generous amount of chicken, but the quality was lacking. The place seems popular, though I'm not sure why -- perhaps there just aren't many options in the area. We sat inside, and at first glance, it didn't seem very clean. While waiting for our food, I glanced up at the ceiling fan, which was caked with dust and grime. It's unfortunate that our expectations were not met.
