If you blink, you might drive right past this little bar and grill, as it's set back offv the road snuggled up next to a bigger building. There is plenty of bar space if you're popping in for a drink.. of course, the actual bar that runs along the shelves of liquor, and there is also a bar on the other side of a roll-up door, perfect for people who come with dogs. There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give. It made my day to see that sweet little dog hanging at the bar having a treat. This really is kind of a spot that feels like it's probably the hangout spot of many people. Great bar food and a good selection of beers. What's not to love?
The food here is very good. I've really enjoyed the sandwiches and burgers. The wings , which are a combination of grilled/fried are also good. Ive been here a couple times now, and while I definitely enjoy the food, I come here for the environment, the vibe, the bar. This location is the ultimate hangout with a brother or a good buddy. And if you like whiskey/bourbons...the selections are phenomenal! Perfect location to catchup with an old friend, and have a drink.
Yummy! I'm still thinking about this burger hours after. The staff is so friendly and explains when you walk in how it's setup. There's a QR code of the tables for you to browse the menu. When you're ready, you order and pay up front. Then they bring the food to your table. We didn't get any drinks so I can't speak on that. I got the Ashley burger (phenomenal but I'm a sucker for goat cheese). My friend got the Bacon Burger which was so juicy and the onion rings. The bacon on both of our burgers was a little over cooked but that did not stop us for eating every bite. It had a cute outdoor seating area with misters for these warmer days. Parking lot is a little small but we had no issue with parking. We saw their happy hour menu....it looked a little lame but the price is reasonable that we did not care about happy hour. Would visit again just for that burger!
This place is AWESOME!!! Great food and service. The inside is very cute but only has a few tables with a smaller bar area. So, we sat outside on the patio (in 107 degree weather) where it was very shaded. They had misters and fans which made it enjoyable. Before sitting we were told to come inside and order drinks and food at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and the food came out fresh and SO yummy!! My boyfriend and I ordered the build your own boom boom burger with fries and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time!! My family ordered the Carne Asada Philly, cheese pizza and kids Mac n cheese. We had such a great time and enjoyed every bite! We will definitely be back to try more!! Ps. They have a large whisky menu if you're a whisky fan!!
Checked it out for lunch. Greeted and seated right away. Our server was helpful with recommendations. Burger and wings were very good. Great selection of draft beers. Scan QR for menu and drinks. Outside seating more robust than indoor seating.
Edgy & Quaint..... good things come in small packages. The Hudson Eatery and Bar did not disappoint. The dining room and bar seating area are a little bigger than a garage ... the walls have graffiti with the Cardinals on it and some cool vintage decor. The outdoor patio is bigger than a postage stamp.. The food, was divine. We ordered their onion rings and burgers. I ordered the pastrami burger it was one of the best hamburgers I've eaten, in a while. There was no skimping on the pastrami, I felt like I was eating a hamburger at Togo's. ( Togo's is a sandwich shop in the Bay Area and they are famous for their pastrami sandwiches #9). My burger was really juicy the ratio of PRODUCE to the burger was perfect. Just the right amount of mustard. The french fries that accompanied the burger were fabulous and so were the onion rings. The Hudson makes their own ranch dressing, I am a ranch snob and again great dressing. My daughter ordered a boom boom burger and substituted her cheese with blue cheese and she said it was phenomenal . Their drink options.... Their alcohol menu is five times the size of the food menu. I do not know where they store all of it because again this place is cute and quaint. They must have a hidden storage area. I would definitely recommend this place. The service was outstanding. JOE was our server/bartender and he was very attentive and paid attention to our special request for the BURGERS. You have to try this place
Came here after work with a couple colleagues last night. Reviews looked good and we wanted to try a new place so the Hudson fit the agenda. It's a small place and the parking can be tricky on the weekend (very few spots directly in front). While it is small, there's a decent amount of seating options both inside and out...we sat outside. Service was good, we were attended to often and they were very helpful. There are plenty of food options on the menu. We went with the pretzel sticks (good!) to start and shared some wings (pretty good). I tried the Mac & Cheese (with bacon, mushrooms, onions and papers). I'd say the Mac & Cheese was a solid "ok." The additional veggies kinda made it a bit watery, so I'd suggest just the bacon. On a scale of 1 - 10, it's a good spot, it's worth a visit and I'm glad I checked it out. I'd come back again sometime.
One of the most authentic burger joints in the Valley of the Sun, the ambience was beautiful, the staff were kind and attentive, the burger is otherworldly, the best in the southwest region! TLDR; the Hudson is SOO good and worth a visit. For the long version of this review, the Hudson is incredible and everyone should check them out. Service is super friendly and fast. Food comes out quickly and everything tastes so fresh. It is a very small restaurant-bar and it's located next to a mini mart. You have to go up to the bar to order but they bring the food to your table or seat. We asked for the recommended menu items and ordered a couple of them. I opted for the chips and salsa for a lighter app to have before our meal came out. The chips are freshly fried and they came piping hot to the table! Salsa has a nice kick and was refreshing. It had a nice balance of flavors and they gave us a decent portion of it. The No More Mr. Rice Guy is so good!! So flavorful! The fresh, crunchy vegetables balance out the soft rice and the difference sauces. The chicken is tender and still had a lot of moisture after being reheated at home for leftovers. I was thoroughly impressed. The Philly cheese was good! Loved the seasoning on the Philly itself and the veggies were sautéed with the meat perfectly. Just wish the bread was a little "toastier". The fries? Don't get me started on the fries. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. Super addicting and I kept going back for more. We will come back to try more menu items and to have a few beers another day. So mad at myself for not coming here sooner.

Extensive whiskey and tequila bottle list and plenty of good beers on tap which is great. I also really enjoyed the 2 cocktails I had-- a whiskey sour iteration and highball. Cocktails were made well, I'd come back and try others. Our friends suggested The Hudson which worked for me, it's been sitting on my list for a while. Bar food was pretty good. Next time I'll try a burger since people like them a lot in reviews, and I love a good burger. This visit we had the carne asada cheesesteak with some onion rings and boneless wings. Both items were good. I think for me, 4 stars seems right since there's an element of having to order at the bar and then come back up if anything is needed. Making it feel somewhat self service but I'm sure we tipped like full service. And at first we were trying to figure out the menu, where to order, and apparently we had a learning curve that night. Brains were tired. We sat outside with the misters at night. That was totally fine. It wasn't one of the nasty hot days. read more
Hubby & I had dinner here last Friday. The restaurant was not what we expected. It is much smaller than we thought. They have the roll up windows /doors open. They did have misters for some of the outdoor seating. We were able to find a table inside. You go up to the bar to place drink & food orders. The staff were friendly & helpful. The music was loud. Hubby got a beer & I got Tito's & cranberry juice. Hubby got the wings & onion rings. I got the Create Your Own Burger without tomato. The drinks were good. Hubby loved the wings. The onion rings were good. The burger was excellent! I don't know what they do different, but it was really good. The fries were good too. I'm not sure that we will be back since it's a bit of a haul for us. read more

Holy Toledo! We were leaving the airport and decided to grab a bite at a place we found here! Small hole in the wall place but so so cool. The music was blasting the people were laughing & there wait staff was superb. We got the Boom Boom burger & BBQ boneless wings. The wings were hangs down the best I've ever had, so juicy & melted in my mouth good! The burger was a winner too, this double decker is a must try! Jermey was on top of her game with service! Stopped in to try a local bar after work. I ordered the chicken wings with buffalo sauce in the side, Tito's and soda. My friend ordered the burger and a pitcher of Miller Lite. The wings were okay a little on the greasy side. I was disappointed in my second ordered of Tito's and soda but got a Tequila with soda instead. When I approached the bartender she said "that's weird because i made it with Tito's with an attitude". Then pursued to have her coworker smell the drink as they assume I was mistaken. I do not like Tequila and being a vodka drinker I can tell the difference between the two, especially if I was served vodka soda previously. Another disappointment to top the evening off, the staff member handed my friends card to the guest next to us. My friend noticed that his card was being handed to the table sitting next to us trying to pay their bill. The table next to us told the server this isn't my card luckily his card was not charged. Little spot in Tempe with a nice dive bar feel. They had a great selection of beers on tap and the staff was very friendly, they made us feel comfortable right away. Small place with good food. They are kind of hard to see when you drive by. Their air conditioning is so strong for the hot summer. I like that they serve small size of beer. There are so many options for beers. The huge tv has the sport on. The rice bowl is so huge that I could not finish. I just found out that onion rings are yummy with ranch and bbq sauce. Options for grill chicken sandwich is great, especially if you don't want hot fried chicken. read more
My son and I wanted to try a new restaurant. We found this place on Yelp! it's a small restaurant. They have a few tables inside and a bar that seats 5. There's a lot more seating outside. We sat outside. It was overcast that day and with the misters going it was nice. Our server's name was Jake and he did a wonderful job making us feel welcome. He suggested any of the burgers but said " Honestly everything is really good here". And our choices were very delicious. My son had the Bacon Bang Bang Burger with Fries. YOU MUST GET THE FRIES!!!!! They are uniquely delicious. Crunchy on the outside with just the right amount of seasoning and moist on the inside. I had the Reuben sandwich with a side of potato wedges, which were also both very good. We would definitely eat here again. read more

Here for a soccer tournament...decided due to the reviews. The food was seriously amazing! There was not one thing that was disappointing. I will say we didn't get there until 6ish and the crow turned a lil sketch but I think if you get there early enough should be ok! read more

Stopped in for a drinks only. Sat on the patio. A few of us ordered beers -- they have a large selection of beers and liquors. It was a lovely day for an afternoon drink and to hang out with friends. The Hudson was a great spot to do so. read more

Looking for a local spot in Tempe with no students, I got you! Super cute and tucked away next to a liquor store. It is first come seating and you purchase at the counter. Sophia was really sweet and gave a lot of suggestions. I saw the boom boom burger and decided to give it a go. The fries are seasoned and crunchy, fresh made with a homemade ranch. The food came out really fast. The burger was so juicy and filling. The beer is on tap and changes weekly. I can't wait to come back and try the Philly cheesesteak! read more
First time coming here and we loved it! Happy hour from 11-6pm M-F, $2 off pints and there was something for well drinks too but I don't remember. Open seating and you order up front. The server was really nice and informative as she told us the happy hour deals. I'm not a huge beer person but I got a Strawberry Blonde beer and loved it! I forgot what company it's from. I also got the Mushroom Swiss Burger. The bun looked dry from the outside but the inside.....it was toasted with butter with a crispy edge, yum! I liked how the lettuce was sliced for easier indulging. It came with a side, I got fries and they were crispy! I didn't even ask for extra crispy! The Hudson is doing it right. There were also other sides to choose from such as onion rings or salad. Oh! When a fire truck drives by with their siren on, $3 shots of Fireball, Jameson, or Jaegar! How cool. This place is the best! This place feels like a locals only, hole in the wall with amazing food. I love the decor, I love being able to sit by the bar and watch the game and the bartenders were able to help get food ordered quickly. I got the chefs special and it was amazing and I would be suprised if anything isn't good on the menu. Will be coming back read more

I get burgers all over the USA raveling for work and DAMN they have a good burger! The sauce added a touch of kick and went great with the fries too. My buddy got the cheesesteak sandwich with the boom boom sauce and loved it as well. Will definitely be back. read more
