There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give. It made my day to see that sweet little dog hanging at the bar having a treat. This really is kind of a spot that feels like it's probably the hangout spot of many people. Extensive whiskey and tequila bottle list and plenty of good beers on tap which is great. I also really enjoyed the 2 cocktails I had-- a whiskey sour iteration and highball. Cocktails were made well, I'd come back and try others. Our friends suggested The Hudson which worked for me, it's been sitting on my list for a while. Bar food was pretty good. Next time I'll try a burger since people like them a lot in reviews, and I love a good burger. This visit we had the carne asada cheesesteak with some onion rings and boneless wings. Both items were good. I think for me, 4 stars seems right since there's an element of having to order at the bar and then come back up if anything is needed. Making it feel somewhat self service but I'm sure we tipped like full service. And at first we were trying to figure out the menu, where to order, and apparently we had a learning curve that night. Hubby & I had dinner here last Friday. The restaurant was not what we expected. It is much smaller than we thought. They have the roll up windows /doors open. They did have misters for some of the outdoor seating. We were able to find a table inside. You go up to the bar to place drink & food orders. The staff were friendly & helpful. The music was loud. Hubby got a beer & I got Tito's & cranberry juice. Hubby got the wings & onion rings. I got the Create Your Own Burger without tomato. The drinks were good. Hubby loved the wings. The onion rings were good. The burger was excellent! I don't know what they do different, but it was really good. The fries were good too. Yummy! I'm still thinking about this burger hours after. The staff is so friendly and explains when you walk in how it's setup. There's a QR code of the tables for you to browse the menu. When you're ready, you order and pay up front. Then they bring the food to your table. We didn't get any drinks so I can't speak on that. I got the Ashley burger (phenomenal but I'm a sucker for goat cheese). My friend got the Bacon Burger which was so juicy and the onion rings. The bacon on both of our burgers was a little over cooked but that did not stop us for eating every bite. It had a cute outdoor seating area with misters for these warmer days. Parking lot is a little small but we had no issue with parking. We saw their happy hour menu....it looked a little lame but the price is reasonable that we did not care about happy hour. This place is AWESOME!!! Great food and service. The inside is very cute but only has a few tables with a smaller bar area. So, we sat outside on the patio (in 107 degree weather) where it was very shaded. They had misters and fans which made it enjoyable. Before sitting we were told to come inside and order drinks and food at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and the food came out fresh and SO yummy!! My boyfriend and I ordered the build your own boom boom burger with fries and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time!! My family ordered the Carne Asada Philly, cheese pizza and kids Mac n cheese. We had such a great time and enjoyed every bite! We will definitely be back to try more!! Ps. I ordered the pastrami burger it was one of the best hamburgers I've eaten, in a while. There was no skimping on the pastrami, I felt like I was eating a hamburger at Togo's. ( Togo's is a sandwich shop in the Bay Area and they are famous for their pastrami sandwiches #9). My burger was really juicy the ratio of PRODUCE to the burger was perfect. Just the right amount of mustard. The french fries that accompanied the burger were fabulous and so were the onion rings. The Hudson makes their own ranch dressing, I am a ranch snob and again great dressing. My daughter ordered a boom boom burger and substituted her cheese with blue cheese and she said it was phenomenal . Their drink options.... Their alcohol menu is five times the size of the food menu. I do not know where they store all of it because again this place is cute and quaint. They must have a hidden storage area. I would definitely recommend this place. The service was outstanding. Service was good, we were attended to often and they were very helpful. There are plenty of food options on the menu. We went with the pretzel sticks (good!) to start and shared some wings (pretty good). I tried the Mac & Cheese (with bacon, mushrooms, onions and papers). I'd say the Mac & Cheese was a solid "ok." The additional veggies kinda made it a bit watery, so I'd suggest just the bacon. On a scale of 1 - 10, it's a good spot, it's worth a visit and I'm glad I checked it out. TLDR; the Hudson is SOO good and worth a visit. For the long version of this review, the Hudson is incredible and everyone should check them out. Service is super friendly and fast. Food comes out quickly and everything tastes so fresh. It is a very small restaurant-bar and it's located next to a mini mart. You have to go up to the bar to order but they bring the food to your table or seat. We asked for the recommended menu items and ordered a couple of them. I opted for the chips and salsa for a lighter app to have before our meal came out. The chips are freshly fried and they came piping hot to the table! Salsa has a nice kick and was refreshing. It had a nice balance of flavors and they gave us a decent portion of it. The No More Mr. Rice Guy is so good!! So flavorful! The fresh, crunchy vegetables balance out the soft rice and the difference sauces. The chicken is tender and still had a lot of moisture after being reheated at home for leftovers. I was thoroughly impressed. The Philly cheese was good! Loved the seasoning on the Philly itself and the veggies were sautéed with the meat perfectly. Just wish the bread was a little "toastier". The fries? Don't get me started on the fries. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. Super addicting and I kept going back for more. Stopped in to try a local bar after work. I ordered the chicken wings with buffalo sauce in the side, Tito's and soda. My friend ordered the burger and a pitcher of Miller Lite. The wings were okay a little on the greasy side. I was disappointed in my second ordered of Tito's and soda but got a Tequila with soda instead. When I approached the bartender she said "that's weird because i made it with Tito's with an attitude". Then pursued to have her coworker smell the drink as they assume I was mistaken. I do not like Tequila and being a vodka drinker I can tell the difference between the two, especially if I was served vodka soda previously. Another disappointment to top the evening off, the staff member handed my friends card to the guest next to us. My friend noticed that his card was being handed to the table sitting next to us trying to pay their bill. The table next to us told the server this isn't my card luckily his card was not charged. After an evening walking around Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo (Shameless plug - it was fun) my wife and I and our friends decided to give The Hudson a try and were not disappointed. My wife had the Sun Devil Chipotle Jalapeno Burger which she found to be delicious. Two of us had the Philly Cheese Steak with onion rings. I have been on the search for the best Philly Cheesesteak in the valley and after many disappointments, this is definitely a contender. In my quest this Philly has definitely set the standard for others to be measured by. The meat was thinly shaved, with the perfect portion of peppers and onions on a great hoagie, all topped with a generous portion of cheese. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The onion rings were very good as well, with a nice batter that was not too thick and nice and crispy. The fourth in our party had the curry bowl and she was quite pleased with her dinner. The service was quick and the guys behind the bar were very nice and attentive. The portion sizes left us all extremely satisfied, with the whole experience leaving everyone with the opinion that we will definitely be returning for another visit. If I had one critique, while I understand that IPAs, Ciders and Sours seem to be in vogue currently, I would suggest offering an amber or darker beer for those of us with a differing palate.
