I submitted an online request, and Kerby responded almost immediately. I initially booked for 15 guests, but when 5 more RSVP'ed within the hour, I emailed Kerby back, and he accommodated the change without hesitation. They have a great outdoor patio, but it was a bit too warm for my liking. He reserved the upstairs area for us instead, which was the perfect space for our group. Our servers, especially Hannah, took phenomenal care of our entire party all night. To start, I ordered a spread of appetizers for the table: tater tots, sweet potato fries, two orders of pretzels, spinach dip, guacamole, and cornbread fritters. Arizona Beer Fact: According to the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, there are now over 100 craft brewing companies in Arizona. Competition is stiff. Fate Brewing Company may not be my absolute favorite in the state, but somehow I always end up having a really good time here. The space is big, open, and great for groups. The beer is decent and reliable, nothing that completely blows my mind, but solid enough that everyone can find something they like. Food-wise, the pizza and fish & chips are both decent. They're satisfying, comforting, and good companions to a pint. What really stands out is the vibe. Every time I come here, the experience is fun. Easygoing, social, and no pressure. My co-workers also found Fate Brewing Company to be perfectly satisfactory, which honestly feels like a win in a group setting. My company had a last minute business dinner for 36 people at the Tempe location on 26 August 2026. Since a lot of the diners are from the East Coast, it was imperative that the venue needed to be indoors with air conditioning. The catering manager, Kerby H. was very responsive and helpful with suggesting a menu with less than 24 hour to prep. I had a lone vegetarian, and Fate allowed me to cater the dinner with a mostly carnivore menu but still order 1 vegetarian entree for the vegetarian. The kitchen did a fantastic job. The buffet was delicious and the drinks were flowing. On the night of the dinner, Zach, the floor manager, and Adrianna, the assigned bartender, were gracious, enthusiastic, and professional. If I need another casual business dinner venue, Fate Brewing in Tempe will always be on my list. read more

This place has all the neighborhood vibes you could ask for, coupled with great food and, of course, some delish beverages! We were scheduled to host our school event in the Beer Garden but due to unforeseen weather conditions- rain and lots of it I was able to communicate with Kerby (event coordinator) and they provided a plan b. It was great working with Kerby leading up to our event. The staff were very pleasant, attentive and made the event enjoyable. The Loft space is clean, offers low lighting, a bar area and you can use the stairs or elevator to get to the space. The entire restaurant is lively and has a great atmosphere. We selected the lunch buffet option that included 2 appetizers, a salad and 2 pizza selections. I was able to customize our menu to accommodate different dietary options - gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and nut free. Food items were labeled and presented nicely for guest to read. Feedback is for staff to inform guest if a non alcoholic beverage is not covered in the beverage package added to the catering order. I came here for an event. The event was held in the loft upstairs and it had an amazing atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick. I got a French Martini and it was delicious and strong (good ratio). For food, our event did 3 different types of pizza, appetizers, and a salad. The salad was delicious and the fruit/vegetables inside of it were extremely fresh. Fate has a good pizza selection with gluten free and vegan options as needed. I had their pepperoni and it was probably one of the better pizzas I have a had at a brewery in Tempe. Servers are attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was relaxed since we went for brunch, which made for a great Labor Day morning. Their outdoor patio is definitely a highlight, especially with cooler Arizona weather. I ordered the Drunken Chicken , which was tasty, but about half of the pieces of chicken had a rubbery texture that wasn't the best. Still, the flavor was solid and the rest of the chicken was good. fatebrewingtempe is one of three locations, including Phoenix and Scottsdale. This south Tempe location is a beautiful relaxing spot. The patio is large, with half of the seating being picnic table style seating under big shade trees. Fate started in Scottsdale in 2012 with a 7 barrel brewhouse and realized quickly that they needed to brew more. They expanded to a 15 barrel brewhouse and more locations. I enjoyed a solo afternoon sitting on the patio reading my book, eating pizza, and sipping a cocktail. The first cocktail that I chose was the Whiskey Tango, which included Gentleman Jack, pineapple, lemon, and sprite. I stuck with whiskey and next chose the Midwest Summer of Jameson, blackberries, and lemon. Both were great and went well with my unique pizza selection. I chose the Grape Escape which had roasted grapes, goat cheese and balsamic glaze. I really enjoyed the savory and sweet and ended up with tasty leftovers. I've been here several times to hang out with friends as it's conveniently located and they have a good range of food and drinks! Most recently, I got the Asian chopped salad with grilled chicken. It was good except there are actual pieces of lime mixed in so I had some unexpected sour bites. Not sure why they put lime in the salad like that. The Tempe location of the local Fate Brewing Company chain is a solid place for eating, drinking and hanging out. There's bar seating and table seating both upstairs and downstairs, plus a large patio area. I can't speak to the beers (my friends like the options), but the cocktails are tasty. The food is good--I haven't found anything that blows me away, but I enjoy the garlic habanero honey wings, the ahi tuna salad and the chicken club sandwich. The service is somewhat mid. My friends and I tend to come on weekday nights--not the busiest time of the week--and we often find ourselves having to ask for silverware, having to ask more than once for things like ketchup, waiting an unusually long time for drinks, etc. The service is very friendly, just not particularly efficient. Still, if you're not in a hurry, Fate is a solid Tempe hangout. read more

Solid place in Tempe to grab a local brew and some food. Fate Brewing has been making beers here in the Valley since 2012. I grew up near here and excited to see Fate come here and bring a little life to this area. A lot of the bars around here have been around for some time. Fate started out in Scottsdale before opening up here in Tempe. They rotate their beers often and are known for their wood-fired pizzas. Not long ago, the name changed from McFate (the original owner's last name) to now just Fate Brewing. We came here for happy hour for a pizza and some nachos. The crowd is pretty chill and the service was nice. I enjoyed their Hatch Chile beer with my pizza. The Irish Red Ale and Hazy IPA are also a couple of favorites of mine. Happy Hour is 3-6pm on weekdays and has discounted prices on beers and some food items. read more

Fate is a cozy little spot in an unassuming part of Tempe. They have a large and dog friendly patio with a wide offering of beers and ciders on tap plus signature cocktails. I came with a group of friends and got the chicken tinga tacos. At our table was also the pb&j burger, the sow sweet pizza (gf crust), and their Maui salad. Everyone enjoyed their food and drink and overall it was a great time! The only drawbacks - the service felt rather causal for a non-busy time. We had a drink show up pretty late after all the others, food came out at somewhat random times and there were several instances of "I'll be right back with __" only for that item to finally arrive 10 - 15min later. Still a great spot for small bites and a beer, fantastic patio to hang with your pup, but just set your expectations that service may not be the most attentive, particularly if it's busy. Ultimately, would I go again? Yes. Would I try some of their other locations to see if perhaps it was just a bit more lax at their location in a college town? Without a doubt. read more

I came here really looking forward to a good meal, but the service completely ruined the experience. It took 11 minutes just for anyone to acknowledge me and bring water. Meanwhile, I watched the waiter take care of the two tables next to me multiple times while completely ignoring mine. My water was never refilled once, and I didn't see my waitress again until she showed up to drop off the bill. No check-ins, no refills, nothing. It honestly felt like I was invisible. The food might have been fine, but it's hard to enjoy it when the service is this bad. There are too many other places that actually care about their customers--won't be returning here. read more

We've been lucky enough to visit here twice, and let me tell you, this place is fantastic for enjoying the patio! The ambiance is just perfect for those lovely Arizona spring and fall days. We brought our pup along both times, and it was great to have him with us. Just a heads up, though--the seats under the trees can be a bit messy with bird droppings, but thankfully we dodged any mishaps! During both visits, we mainly stuck to beers and appetizers. The Hatch Chile Gatos beer was delightful and really lived up to its name with a nice kick. It paired wonderfully with the stacked nachos. I'll be honest, though--the nachos with steak could have used a bit more topping. While they had great flavor and the steak was nicely tender, it felt more like we were munching on chips instead of nachos. The ceviche was spot-on, but what truly stood out were the guacamole and crispy wings. You can find guac and wings all over Arizona, but when you can't wait to come back for them, you know the recipe is a winner! I loved the garlic habanero honey sauce over the teriyaki--it was such a nice touch, especially with the fresh garlic pieces that gave it that extra zing. The guacamole was like an upscale Chipotle version: super flavorful with nice chunks throughout. Oh, and if you're a beer fan, don't miss the Halfway to Hefen--it quickly became one of my favorites. And for a perfect finish, the Barrel Aged Vanilla Baltic Porter is a must-try; you won't regret it! A big thanks to Steve for ensuring we had such great service and tasty food. Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. It was the first & last time. We arrived a little before 5:00. We were seated right away. That is where the good service ended. It took awhile for someone to come to the table. So long that I was looking for restaurants near us to go to. Then a female server came over with waters & took our take drink order. She said our server would be over soon to take our food order. It turns out our server was the person I had watched check on 3 tables near ours. He finally came & took our order. We ordered the pretzels for an appetizer. Hubby got the fish & chips. I got the fried chicken sandwich & fries. Our food came before the pretzels. We were going to have them just take them off the bill, but they ended up coming out. I wish we hadn't ordered them. We love pretzels & beer cheese. The pretzels were good. However, the beer cheese & mustard were not good. The beer cheese didn't taste anything like beer cheese. It tasted like nacho & jalapeño cheese. Hubby loves mustard & he didn't like it. I couldn't eat the cheese because it was too spicy for me. Hubby always eats all of his food. He didn't finish his fish or fries. He said the fish was over cooked & oily. His fries were as bad as mine. They were soggy. My chicken sandwich was not a hit. It had the house slaw on it, & it was too spicy for me. I'm not sure what was in the slaw to make it spicy. I scrapped it off so I could get it. Then I got 2 separate bites that the texture was off, so I was done.
