This is located in the Sun Lakes community. Not sure if you need to do this at every entry or just the entry I came through, but the community is gated and you just need to tell the guard that you're here for the Stone & Barrel restaurant. Because Sun Lakes is described as an active retirement community, the clientele is older, but the place was bustling! There was live music (complete with an Elvis impersonator) and a bar crawl happening when we went. So the atmosphere was very lively! Our group tried a bunch of the food and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. We did order the burger and had to send it back because something smelled a bit off, but our server was very kind and understanding and offered to get another meal cooked right away. I like eating here. The view over looking the patio and fountain is lovely. I have had a couple of nice meals. The last time I had fish tacos and fries. It was a lot of food and I would have taken some of my leftovers but we were going to see the Stones. It was a great show. The only small complaint was my white wine was warm. Arrive and we're greet and seated immediately. We were seated in booth which provided a private and intimate experience. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. We started with wine and the Smoked Salmon Rillittes as an appetizer. We had the Pot Roast and Cobb salad for entrees. The Pot Roast was tender and flavorful. Had dinner here last week. This restaurant is located inside Oakwood country club. Many people aren't aware of it and don't know that it's a public restaurant. They have a great selection of everything from steak to seafood, along with salads, etc.. they run a drink of the week special every week and have happy hours daily! Awesome experience. Kate our server was very chill & helpful. Atmosphere is very much an older crowd, which we didn't mind at all. The food was delicious, I would highly recommend the Wings with the Sweet Chili sauce, very crispy and flavorful. The only thing we didn't love was the Chicken Schnitzel. This restaurant is part of a gated community and golf course/club. The restaurant is open to the public. When I visit my family, they always want to come here as they live in the community and they like to "show it off". Today, we sat outside overlooking one of the lakes.Service was very friendly and efficient. The food was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. My parents got the French dip sandwich combo. I opted also for the French dip with the Caesar salad. Just really delicious overall. I definitely will be back because it's so easy just to pop over in the golf cart. Plenty of parking out front. This restaraunt is located inside a gated community at the golf course. We went in on a Friday night and without a reservation there was about a 15 minute wait. I had the fig and prosciutto pizza which is served on cauliflower crust which was very sweet but good. The fish and chips were definitely over fried so the fish was rubbery. The biggest reason I would probably not be back soon is the fact that this dinner took a little over 2 hours. The service was friendly but very very slow. Drinks were strong and the place is nice. We tried the famous million-dollar burgers and very much enjoyed them. I appreciate all the options for sides. I liked the parm fries and The Hubbs got the sweet potato fries. Their pizza's are amazing, so are the burgers/sandwiches. However, they have amazing fresh fish of the day option, and my absolute favorite is the Schnitzel and Spaetzle. We have eaten here many times. The food never disappoints. The restaurant staff is pleasant and takes good care of you.

Really like the atmosphere. Service was great. Had a wedge salad and soup both were very good. The server was so kind to ask if I wanted the wedge chopped. Not many restaurants will ask. Lots of people don't know this is open to the public because it's hidden in a senior golf community. Their food is really yum, good prices and their drinks are delicious! (Martini girl here!) They have fun music nights, dancing and the vibes are basically "live your best life'. If you ask to sit outside in the spring the views include a gorgeous lake with a fountain spewing water backlit with beautiful colors, and the sun sets right behind it. 10/10 would recommend for a casual night out. Order the short rib queso! My favorite appetizer / small eats plate there. My salad was bland, waiter asked if I wanted the dressing on the side I said yes but it was drenched with dressing anyways. I will say my clam chowder was good. I'm not a resident of Sun Lakes; but, have been to this restaurant with family a few years ago. (Prices used to be better - now as high as anywhere else). I made a lunch reservation for a friend & me to eat on the patio on Thursday 10/12/23. It was a beautiful day (in mid 80s). The covered patio has padded bench seats that look out over the water fountain & golf course. (Other side of the table has metal chairs with pad on seat only). Our waiter was excellent. We asked & he recommended the burgers or prime rib dip sandwich. We both went with a Pick2 of salad & the prime rib dip. Both were good. Then for dessert the waiter recommended the butter cake. That cake is served with ice cream, a Bourbon glaze, & cooked down fruit & was delicious! It's definitely a large, rich dessert that should be shared. Another nice feature, was that we got separate checks & waiter was able to split the price of dessert between us - charging us each .5 x price each...I wish more restaurants would offer that great feature! One of the best lunch servers I've had recently - both for service & friendliness. read more

This restaurant is located inside a gated community in Sun Lakes. However, they do have public access to this restaurant, which is a country club restaurant on a golf course. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a round bar inside, cute decor and seating with booths and regular tables and high tops inside. The outside is beautiful. The outside overlooks the man made lake and golf course with a beautiful water fountain. At night they have string lights and the water fountain has a light show. They also have heaters outside and sun shades for sunset. To start, I had the peach tea with rum. It was delicious and super strong. We also started with the pretzels and beer cheese. The pretzels came in little balls, there was 6 of them. They were perfectly salty, not overdone. The cheese wasn't the best I've had - I prefer a slightly spicy white queso, but it was still good. For dinner I had the jambalaya tortellini. Everyone at the table eyed mine and it was beautifully prepared and tasted so good. First off, I love tortellini stuffed with cheese! The sauce wasn't too spicy and it was super creamy with sausage and shrimp. The shrimp weren't fish, and they were huge prawns. I also tried the fish tacos that were super delicious as well! Should be a 3.5 rating. After a round of golf at Oakwood we came over for lunch. Tad slow service but the drinks were cold and refreshing. My friend had pizza and I had the street tacos. The accompanying chili with my tacos was off the chart good. Tacos were decent (fish) but could have used more fish and a bit more flavor. Chipotle ranch (I think) drizzle helped but the ingredients within the taco could have had a little more flavor. Glad I tried them, felt full and satisfied but wouldn't get again. Friend had pizza, seemed like he liked it. I kicked his butt on the course, btw. Nice atmosphere, plenty of TVs, when at the course I would eat here but wouldn't come here specifically for dinner given other choices out there. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. I've brought my family, my parents(who live in Oakwood) and multiple friends on numerous occasions. We've even spent holidays here many times. Tonight was the most horrible experience I've had. Our waitress was new but she was great. The kitchen didn't execute my order properly and argued with my request. I've ordered this a certain way probably 10-12 times in the past. Very simple request. It came out wrong twice. The first dish came out with over cooked plain noodles and with an extra dish had everything combined. I do not eat seafood and I'm allergic and they said they always toss the seafood in the broth. That's not true when you state you have an allergy. I always order the seafood on the side because my daughter enjoys it and it's $27! I called later and expressed my concerns to the manager but she didn't seem interested in what I had to say. She has seen me regularly as most of the other employees . Our bill was around $76 and I left a 25% tip because it wasn't the waitresses fault. I wasn't looking for money back at all. I was just frustrated that my table had finished their dinner before me. I hope they can improve but I'm never going back. read more

99%of the people who dine here probably live here or have friends/relatives who live in this senior community. Not us, of course. We took my MIL who enjoyed this community and restaurant a lot. Didn't have any expectations coming here except to order the tempura battered Brussel Sprouts I read on the reviews. Unfortunately, they are no longer serving it. Took a couple clients here for lunch. One had the pot roast, the other a burger. Both said theirs were very good. I went with the fish & chips. The herb fries were very good and the fish itself flaky and firm. The breading was just okay separating from the fish when cut. A small, single piece of fish for a fish & chips meal was a disappointment as well. If this review was on my meal alone, it would be a two star rating. Based on the feedback from my clients gives it three. I'd definitely eat here again - loved the place itself. I just wouldn't eat the fish & chips again and I got the impression they know it isn't their best offering, but it's still on the menu. read more
