The service was friendly with great views of the golf course and pond. My sandwich had a large chicken breast that was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We went for dinner on a weeknight. I ordered the fish & chips. It arrived looking sad: two small, thin pieces of cod that were overcooked to the point of dryness, perched on a modest pile of fries. The breading was decent, tartar sauce fine, but the fish itself was underwhelming and skimpy for the price. Highlight of my plate was actually the side of onion rings--thick-cut, crispy, well-seasoned, and legitimately tasty. My wife's fried chicken sandwich, though, was a winner. Huge, juicy breast with a crunchy coating, fresh toppings, and a buttery brioche bun that held up perfectly. The fries alongside were hot and crisp. She demolished it and declared it one of the better chicken sandwiches she's had lately. Service was friendly but slow. Prices are typical for a golf course spot--maybe $2-3 higher than you'd hope. Verdict: Dinner was hit-and-miss (great chicken sandwich, forgettable fish & chips). The loud, dated vibe isn't for everyone. I probably wouldn't rush back for dinner, but the breakfast menu has solid reviews, so I'll give that a shot next time I'm in the area. Onion rings alone are worth a side order. read more

Great spot for some drinks and great food. I had the Southwest Turkey Sandwich and my boyfriend had the Italian Beef. They were both delicious and the fries were tasty, seasoned well and actually came out hot. The servers were excellent and no waiting considering so many people were piling in from the golf course. My husband and I and two friends ate here today. Our food was good, but the tri tip sliders were very scarce on the meat. Our server Tiffany was wonderful. We accidentally spilled a beer and she was very helpful on cleaning it up Russell who chatted with us on the golfcourse was very nice and let us know the conditions of the course up ahead. I remember when Scratch first opened, and honestly, it was pretty lifeless in the beginning. No music, no events, no real atmosphere -- it just felt like an extension of the golf course. Over the years, people like Andrea, Paige, and Taylor completely changed that. They built this place into an actual neighborhood pub people wanted to come hang out at. Trivia nights, bingo, live music, events, packed patios, regulars who felt like family -- THAT is what made Scratch successful. Ever since Paige was let go, it genuinely feels like they've been slowly draining the life and personality out of the place. The energy feels off now, and you can see how burnt out and defeated the staff looks. It's sad because the people who built the culture there are the reason so many customers kept coming back. From the outside looking in, it honestly feels like ownership wants it to turn back into some kind of glorified pro shop instead of the fun local pub atmosphere everyone fell in love with. Upon walking up, I noticed a cute golf display and overall great ambiance on the patio with live music playing. It seemed like a very lovely place, and even the inside was full with only one table open. It's a seat yourself type of establishment, so we grabbed the table and peeked at the menu. I love that they have vegetarian items listed, and even a plant-based section! There was a sign saying some guy had the worst sandwich, but I didn't find it in the reviews to get specifics. I did find the sign funny, but I wanted to look into the review for specifics and heck, even photos of said offending sandwich. We enjoyed the fries, and even went with the waitress' recommendation for a flatbread not on the menu - cheese flatbread with black olives and pickles. It was surprisingly delicious, though I wished it was cooked a little longer for a crunchier crust. Their kitchen closes early (8pm), so they may have been in a rush to complete our order. Overall, pretty good food at reasonable prices. Fridays are "Fireball Friday" if you are a fan like me! Definitely enjoyed a few, and would be curious to look into their other daily specials as we both said we could see returning in the future if in the area. read more

Don't pass this little hidden Pub food gem. It sits at the Agusta Ranch Golf Course Clubhouse. Great spot for Lunch, Dinner of Happy Hour! And yes you can schedule a round or practice putting but everyone is welcome here. During one of our visits a gentleman was entertaining the crowd with music in a guess the artist contest with prizes for winners. I enjoyed the vibe he brought to the pub. Onto food. My daughter found this place on Yelp. And as we got to the front door, we couldn't help but laugh when we saw the sign that says "Come in & try the worst sandwich that one guy on YELP ever had in his life". So once we saw that we KNEW we had to try it out for sure!! We ended up ordering a turkey sandwich(which was bomb!!), my kids had very simple burgers(plain & cheese which were apparently very juicy), hot wings(my son-in-law loved em), Buffalo chicken sandwich(my daughter said it was alright) & my son ordered the Pork po boy(he said it was 5 out of 10). I wish I could give zero stars. We were sent an email on Friday morning promoting their Fish n Chip special. We traveled quite far to try it but when we got there they said no Fish n Chips because they had a special event and the kitchen would get backed up. I didn't realize it was on a golf course, but I've had great luck with golf course food, so I was even more interested. The place was packed for lunch and it appeared that there was only one bartender and she was taking orders as well, but after watching her a bit, she was killing it. I sat at the bar and she immediately came over got my drink order and brought my usual beer and an iced tea...gotta hydrate, ya know. I had a burger which arrived pretty quick and was absolutely delicious. A lot of the folks in there seemed to know one another and the bartender knew them as well. First time here I was in the area and was looking for a place to watch the television games. This place is located in a residential area located next to a golf course. This spot is off the beaten path. Scratch is rather small inside, however they have an outside patio area that would be nice if all the smokers weren't utilizing it. That would deter me from eating outside. They have plenty of televisions for watching multiple games at the same time. The menu is decent sized. I ordered a Reuben burger with onion rings. The burger was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were ok. I ordered a Bloody Mary. I have had better. If I was in the area again I would eat here again. read more

Stopped in later in the evening with my cousin for a drink and a snack! When we walked up to the establishment, there was live music on the patio and lost of people at the drive range! We decided to head inside to find a seat (seat yourself type of place). We luckily caught the kitchen in time before closing as it closes 3 hours before the bar does on Friday which we didn't realize. The server greeted us and kindly let us know the kitchen was closing soon and urged us to order something if we were interested in food. She was pleasant about it and we appreciated the transparency. The food came out super fast. The fries seemed fresh and my cousin's flatbread was good, but definitely could have used longer in the oven as the bottom was still a bit pale/underdone. We still ate it! The bar has a fun feel to it with bar signs all over the walls. I enjoyed 2 different IPAs (the first one was giant! I ordered a normal pint size for the second one lol so it appears there are two sizes offered) and my cousin partook in $4 fireball Friday! Thought that was a fun touch after a long week. It was lunchtime and our 9 year old boys' soccer team had just played one of two games at nearby Paloma Sports Complex. We had a couple of hours before the next game... So - I turned to Yelp to search for nearby restaurants with outdoor dining options (due to the pandemic). Scratch was my second call. They said they had plenty of availability on their patio. "Enough for 20 or so?" I asked... and the response was "yes... come on in!" I apologize to our server as I probably neglected to share how many in our group were kids, and the group kind of took over the outdoor area, but it worked out well. There were probably about 6 - 8 families that ended up joining, and everyone found something on the menu to fuel up for watching / playing in that next game. The kids' menu offered chicken tenders, grilled cheese, mac&cheese, and mini sliders. Adults went with soups, salads, sandwiches, etc... I had a salad but had order envy on those that had the Caesar Wrap. The fries were tasty and there was plenty of water / lemonade / beer to wash it all down. I've been here several times and thought the food was great. I love their nachos because the use a tasty cheese sauce instead of melted shredded cheese. I can't stand the melted shredded cheese on nachos so this is huge for me. The other toppings on it just make the dish that more enjoyable. I've had the southwest salad that had just the right amount of heat to it. Also I'm a suckered for a good fish taco. If you like them to I highly recommend the Baja fish tacos. It seemed like there was fish in every bite and was loaded without being to loaded with fixings. I was here last night and used the front door for the first time instead of coming in off the golf course. There's a sign next to the door saying "try the worst sandwich that one guy on yelp ever had". I don't know who came up with that but it made me laugh and I couldn't help but think what a great way to turn a negative into a positive. Next time I'm in I'm going to try that sandwich. read more

To make matters worse, we saw our food sitting there for over 20 minutes waiting to be brought to us. Then the second time it was made wrong again so it was never served. Great hidden spot in Augusta Ranch. Awesome views from the outdoor patios. We have been coming here for 8 years and tonight we had the best server ever. She was so friendly and made sure to check in with us often and made sure our drinks were filled at all times. With this economy good people are hard to find and Adriana our server is one of the best we have had. We hope she stays for a long time. I was her all the time when it was The Vue. i was sad to lose The Vue but happy to see another place take over and so I came, ready to support. First visit: saturday afternnon bar. It was ok. (FYI this was right after they opened) Secont visit: about 3 weeks ago I wanted cocktails and apps on the patio. So I popped down to Scratch. It was ok. The drink was ok, but a bit weak. The service was good, but the food was slow. I ordered a hummus plate and it arrived with some limp celery, tired carrots and deep fried (WTH?) pita. Weird music on. Third visit: last week I got takeout. I was craving a butger and the hubs offered to go get. Omg. Salivate!!! Delicious. Juicy. Full of flavor. Yay! Today: its hot. The best thing about this place is the patio. So I parked my rear on the patio with a view of the geese. And I waited. And waited. And waited. Thankfully the "good" server walked by and noticed we hadnt been helped (sat for 10 mins). She immediately got us our server, who still managed to take her time to get our drink order. I'm so conflicted on this place. I've had food here that was very very good, but also very very bad. One thing that is consistent is how slow they are. It takes forever to get the food. The last time we went, they brought us a list of food that they were out of. It was essentially half the menu. No burgers, wings, fries, chicken, and a lot more. Since it was a light menu, I got mac and cheese with chicken and when it came out, it was cold and a portion size that I would give my toddler. In fact, my toddler's kids mac and cheese was bigger than the one I ordered. To be clear, the mac and cheese was not on the appetizers section nor the sides section of the menu. I thought it was a main dish, but it clearly wasn't. Again, I've had other experiences that were fine, but it's been a miss the last couple times. To their credit, the servers were pleasant and apologetic. They did what they could with what they were dealt.
