Veggie omelet w eggs (you can select egg whites), tons of veggies w xtra mushrooms and a side of sausage. Potatoes are yummy!

Definitely add Sunnyside Breakfast to your list! Everything we've ordered has been delicious! The customer service is good too. The potatoes that come with breakfast are some of he best around!

    Flattened Chimi with bacon

We decided to try this place after a hike nearby and it did not disappoint. I got the flattened chimi with added bacon and it was fire!!! The service was amazing, and the place filled up super fast. We sat at the bar watching all the yummiest drinks go out, and it was obvious half the people there were regulars which is always a good sign. Will for sure be back!

Small index sized note regarding not taking Entertainment coupons

The food was mediocre. We ordered the Denver Omelette and it was okay, nothing amazing. You have three choices for fries, but two of the three have a seasoning so I ordered the option that was plain, tater tots. The tater tots were cooked nicely. The reason for my 1 rating has to do with customer service. When the bill came, I presented my Dining Advantage coupon that I purchased on the Dining Advantage app. You essentially pay a price ahead for the coupon and then it's suppose to give you BOGO at the establishment. The server said that they would not take the coupon and that there was a sign on the door. I asked the server where this sign was located because it definitely not something most average customers would see. On my way out, I saw the sign to the right of the door on a small little index card. Hence why most customers would not even notice it. The problem I have here is that it's now on the customer instead of the restaurant to get on Dining Advantage to get this coupon removed. Think about it, why would Sunnyside Breakfast Lounge want to be taken off their coupon program when it's clearly bringing in business (like me) and then they don't need to honor it. I think I'm just so annoyed because the coupon brought us to this restaurant and if I had known I would have gone to Red White and Brew down the street that for the same price was better food and larger portions with leftovers!

Went Friday morning before going to spring training (Go Mariners!!), had to wait maybe 10 minutes before once we were sat the waitress was on top of it! Good menu selection for a picky eater and more adventurous eaters. I got the breakfast chimi add mushrooms as well as someone else at our table. I loved it! The salsa had great flavor with almost no spice which my table mate loves because they are a baby (self admittedly) when it comes to spice. Very cute interior and dim lighting for a breakfast joint. If you're close by, you should definitely stop in!

    Are they pet friendly?

They have a pet friendly patio.

Are there temporary hours during covid/labor shortage? Would appreciate an update on their website or here vs. having to drive all the way out there to find a sign on the door like last time :(

They are open the hours posted on Yelp. Food is very good

It may take you a minute to take it all in but it's fun and comfortable here. The place was bustling with patrons and the waiting list was growing with some waiting outside. It's definitely a spot that catches your eye and makes for a cute dining experience. The service was good and everyone was friendly. We started with the green fried tomatoes on sourdough, which were an interesting take and a fun item to try. We also ordered the jambalaya, and while the flavors were decent, it was on the drier side and didn't quite have the rich, saucy consistency I was hoping for. Overall, the food was okay, but I think the atmosphere is what really makes Welcome Diner stand out. I'd definitely come back to enjoy the cute retro vibes and try a few other things on the menu. Sometimes the setting is just as much a part of the experience as the food, and this place definitely has personality. Cute atmosphere, good service, and a fun vibe. The food was just okay for me, but I'd still be curious to come back and try something different.

But I can judge simply food or filet a trout or chicken and add a homemade beurre blanc sauce. I like simple red wine but relish a Camus anniversary bottle. We eat at hole in the walls and expensive places. But often we look at each other and choose between Dennys or VI, and are happy! Today, May 16th at VI on Signal Butte - rough start by a waitress who told both of us "I need to know your pie order. NOW." Resturant was not busy. Not at all. It was 4:15 maybe. Slow on a SUNDAY post-winter visitor rush on a late Spring day. Rushed. I pointed to my 3-6pm dinner choice of TURKEY. I showed her. "Just as it comes. She repeated it back to me as she typed in into her handheld computer. Chicken fried steak arrived. And a sausage looking oval patty shape of stuffing. Two long finger prints in it. I wondered if she picked up my loose stuffing as it's normally served here in America, or rather the chef did this to all who request it. I told my husband to look for spit in his food. My hubby? Nicest guy ever. But when he knows I didn't want and could not manage fried beef..but I had fasted 21 hours. I needed sliced fresh high protein meat. Wait another 15 min or eat the mess on my plate? I told her I'd eat it. Truly don't like complaining let alone confrontation with a Russian native with a sharp attitude because of a rough life. My nephew is from there so I GET the trauma. and I though I know I can usually switch my palate. But not for this plate of food. I felt sick looking at it. "Just eat the 'steak' I picked the stuffing apart - could not eat more than a thimble. Gummy gluten salty yuck was inedible. The FINGERPRINTS! 2 Fingertips past knuckles imprinted. I left it and hope someone there stopped to think "Why?" Our Waitress tried to make up by suddendly being nice when she walked behind me with a second piece of pie ...to go home. Thanked me for being agreeable or something. I nodded. I remember this saying if you l oh someone's attention the first three seconds and first three steps you'll spend the next 30 min trying to make them believe you're hiring. It's true. I was too tired this week to be extremely understanding but I'm never rude. I told my hubby let's both let this one go. And I said "But we won't return here." He nodded in agreement. Because I see people come in and sit down I see how tired they are and make quick calls to be able to turn their day around if only for a short time before they return home....to being a caregiver or to grieve a loss. Just 2 minutes from the ALB airport, this spot hits exactly how you need it to hit when you're either coming off a flight or heading into one: easy, classic, no-frills comfort. I went with the corned beef hash + pancakes breakfast, and it delivered that old-school diner energy. The hash was hearty and filling, eggs cooked just right, and the pancakes? Soft, golden, and exactly what you expect--nothing fancy, just solid. But let's be clear... the real reason you come here is the pie. Village Inn doesn't play about their pies, and the banana cream pie is the headline act. Light, creamy, not overly sweet, topped with whipped cream and just enough texture to make every bite feel intentional. For under $20 a pie, it feels like one of those rare "still worth it" moments in today's food scene. Yes--it's a chain. But this location in Albuquerque shows up like it understands the assignment: quick service, consistent quality, and that nostalgic diner comfort that doesn't try too hard. DISCOVERY SCORE: * Food: * Service: * Value: * Must-Try Factor (Banana Cream Pie): Would I come back? For the pie alone? Absolutely.
